Cons: Only downfall to the stay was that we could hear doors slamming all night long and one night we were able to hear the room the next to us, their conversations all night long. Other than that it was a great stay!

Cons: The cleaning crew may be stretched thin resulting in some issues. There is also either an expansion or new hotel being built next door so you will hear a lot of activity early if you stay during the week.

Cons: Room wasn't as clean as expected. Our comforter was dirty and we had to get another. There was trash (candy wrappers) on the floor by the couch when we arrived. The floor of the shower had sand all over it.

Cons: WAY TOO DOG FRIENDLY!! This hotel should be called the Hyatt Dog Place. There were dogs everywhere. I have stayed at hotels that allowed pets but will never stay at a Hyatt House again if this is what is to be expected. The parking situation was not good.

Cons: approx. 9:30 pm pool & Jacuzzi were both filthy, dirt buildup on bottom, hair/debris floating on top. Staff quickly sent someone to clean but when I looked next morning conditions were still same. WiFi was worthless, tried numerous web sites on mine & wife's phone, none would load.

Cons: Note: The hotel is very welcoming of dogs which means there can be growling when they don't get along and we had a day where the neighboring room's pet noisily whined throughout the day when it was left alone.
Also, there is a pizza restaurant next door which had a loud concert one night until nearly midnight. One a positive note, we also ate there another day and the pizza was really good.

Cons: The mattresses weren't top notch but again, for the price, it did the trick. The rooms are a little dated but for a reasonably priced hotel on the beach it is fine. Big plus is we could see the Neptune statue from our balcony. If you want a romantic stay, this would not be the place. But for a beach-front place to stay, it is worth it.

When I asked him to change the sheets, he told me it was MY job to do that. We asked for a different room, which they did find for us. The pool was shut down by the city during our stay due to a water quality issue. The hotel did, however, arrange for us to use a neighboring hotel's pool facilities while it was out of commission.

The third was the friendly and personable staff. Last but not least was the room. Very clean, nice size bathroom, room was equipped with microwave and mini refrigerator. We had an excellent view of the beach and were able sit on balcony. Entrance to a restaurant called "The Tap Room" was on the main floor. Excellent drink and food. We will definitely stay here again.

Cons: The water in the shower didn't get hot, visible damage in the bathroom. Our carpet was damp when we got there. No mini fridge or safe in the room. Not one piece of artwork in the whole room, very stark and un welcoming. We needed a pet friendly room and this is the first time I've ever booked one, they don't tell you anywhere when you make the reservation that pets are not to be left unattended in the room at any time. And also didn't tell me that when I called to verify the reservation and to let them know that we were bringing two small dogs. So after driving 14 hours and booking a non refundable room for $400, they made me sign something at the front desk saying that if I did leave my dog in the room that they would call animal control to safely remove the dog. We were traveling for a wedding, what was I supposed to do? So the second day we were there, while at a wedding function, I got a call saying the dogs were barking and I needed to come back to the hotel and take them to a kennel if I was going to leave them unattended. I would have taken them to a kennel in my home town and left them while we were out of town if I would have known any of that. Absolutely ridiculous. And then the hotel manager had the nerve to tell me that he would work with me when I said we couldn't make it back to the hotel for about 30 minutes. You better work with me because last time I checked, I was the one paying you guys, not the other way around.

Cons: This is listed as a non smoking facility. As soon as I stepped foot on our floor the entire place smelled like Marijuana. I reported this, but it continued throughout all 4 days of our stay. I like to leave the sliding door open to listen to the ocean, and could not do that or sit on the balcony because people were smoking Marijuana and I use an inhaler. Plus it made my 11 year old feel unsafe because we are 2 young females, and the facility has a drug issue. We were unable to sleep the first night because the AC was iIbroken, and it was HUMID. The next day they did replace the unit. The handle in the shower was falling off, so I could not get decent water pressure, and the temperature kept changing. I had to be really quick to take a shower. I could not wash my hair at all. I really didn't want to be in long anyways because the tub was filthy, but I had to take a shower. The way their wifi is set up doesn't make sense at all. We could not connect half of our smart devices, and the ones we did connect kept going out. They claimed that I could not be partially refunded because they wanted me to continuously move rooms. The marijuana was every where, and I am on standby for a major emergent back surgery and I can't keep moving all of our stuff. The prices were high given COVID-19, and everything is shut down. Also, in terms of COVID-19 you would think the few people in the facility would be spaced out...Nope, everyone was on the same floor directly next to each other. I come to VA beach a lot, and would not come back. I usually stay at the Westin, it is always clean and well maintained, and drug free.

Plus, I had booked on a weekend when a hurricane was coming and they would not give me a refund. There was a hurricane coming, how was I suppose to control that.

Cons: Booked the room because I read that this hotel had been completed renovated for 2016. The pictures matched what you got, but the musty smell of old smoke lingered. We had to leave the balcony door open the whole time because of it. The wifi didn't work the entire time we stayed there, it would log in and and then immediately kick you out. When I called the front desk to ask if others were having the same issue the person said "yeah they are, but I don't know what you want me to tell you." I would have even accepted a bulsh** response of them saying that they had someone working on it, instead of the response I got. This made the think that they probably have this issue all the time and are doing nothing to fix it. Overall between a cheaply done renovation, musty rooms and no wifi/poor customer service regarding issues with wifi, I would not choose to stay here again.

Pros: It's not luxurious, but for the price it's SO much better than the other hotels (which are mostly dumps) in the area that cost the same or more.
Everything was clean and modern, and the staff was extremely nice and accommodating! There were added perks that you don't always get at some of the other hotels at Virginia Beach, like being able to park more than 1 car there (for a small fee), and even though check out is 11am you can still park your car there for the remainder of the day.
If you like to swim you might need to walk a block or so up the beach since the hotel is right next to the pier (where most shark attacks occur). Otherwise, the location is great! It's right by the amusement park and tons of shops and restaurants.
I'll definitely come back here again!

Cons: Rooms are showing signs of disrepair. Lose ceiling tiles, mold in the bathroom, water damage on ceilings, bed linens no longer white. Breakfast this year was mediocre or not available at all and breakfast staff was rude. Breakfast was "served" until 10am (buffet), but there were no eggs, no milk, the potatoes and sausages were overcooked and cold at 8:45 am. This repeated on day two at 9:20. When asked for eggs and milk the staff member turned around and said nothing would be refilled since "Breakfast was almost over," and walked away. This finally resulted in a complaint at the front desk. Other than "I'll give them a call" no attempt was made to remedy the poor service, except a "sorry for the breakfast problem" at check out on day 4. I'm afraid this was our last stay at BW Sandcastle and we will no longer encourage friends to stay there.

Pool, fitness area are very nice! Everything is setup to make your stay as easy as possable. Parking is included and the garage is attached for quick access to rooms. We really enjoyed our stay and will more than likely stay here again.
Cons: It could be up kept a little better maintenance wise to the outside, our door to the balcony was pretty beat up and alot of rust and missing paint. They were in the process of painting rooms tho, so maybe the rest is soon to come. Its an older hotell so some things like that are expected. The rooms could be a little bigger but for what we needed and the price it was great! The breakfast was pretty lame, but again, for the price it was fine. Nothing special to eat and pretty limited but what they did offer was really tasty and the staff again were very nice. Overall the pros definitely outweigh the negatives and i would stay here again and recomend to friends and family. Our family of 4 had an excellent stay!

Pros: It's not luxurious, but for the price it's SO much better than the other hotels (which are mostly dumps) in the area that cost the same or more.
Everything was clean and modern, and the staff was extremely nice and accommodating! There were added perks that you don't always get at some of the other hotels at Virginia Beach, like being able to park more than 1 car there (for a small fee), and even though check out is 11am you can still park your car there for the remainder of the day.
If you like to swim you might need to walk a block or so up the beach since the hotel is right next to the pier (where most shark attacks occur). Otherwise, the location is great! It's right by the amusement park and tons of shops and restaurants.
I'll definitely come back here again!
Cons: The ac was a bit harsh. If you sleep next to the air vent you're going to get tons of cold air blasted right at you. The beds are a bit hard, but I still slept well.

When I mentioned my fish was a bit dry for my taste (but didn't want to send it back) they took half the price off the bill. Having beach chairs and towels included was convenient. And the rocking chairs on the boardwalk made for a great place to enjoy the ocean without going onto the beach.

Cons: The beach itself was extremely crowded, which we were expecting with visiting a tourist location. If you don't like crowds, do not visit Virginia Beach in the summer.

Cons: Noisy outside of elevator room. coffee pot had to be replaced, didn't work. But, most of all, the staff never even apologized when I called a few days later to tell them that Priceline (Kayak, thus Travelweb) had already charged me for my room that I booked online. Oh, no. They told me that that's just the way it is...sometimes they don't get the info in time and it's my responsibility to get ahold of Priceline and make sure they call the hotel. Not even an apology. Took three calls to get them to understand what happened. Then after talking to Priceline and get a resolution started (which still has not been resolved), I called back and left the general manager a message explaining and left my number. No, not even a phone call back after two days not. Hilton sucks. I will never stay there again, or any of their hotels. I paid $216 for one night and got double billed to my card and it still is not resolved. I am going to write the corporate office. This is horrible customer service for a hotel of this supposed caliber.

Cons: For the $1,000 I spent for two nights I expected more. The room only had a Murphy bed, and the walls were paper thin, so I could hear my neighbors' conversations clearly. The rooftop pool was nice, but I was chased down as soon as I arrived by a staff member who forced me to empty my water bottle as no outside food or drink was allowed. Housekeeping was a bit of a problem as well. I slept in the first day and then went to the beach. When my room wasn't cleaned by 3pm I called and asked if it could be done by 5pm and they said yes. When I returned at 6;30pn to clean up for dinner reservations, housekeeping was still in the process of cleaning my room. Also, the activities desk where you get your towel and beach chair was fairly aggressive about a time share promotion they were offering.

Cons: Rooms need a refresh. The rooms were showing a lot of wear and tear (carpet was torn, the mirror was peeling, the light was rusting, and our balcony railing was loose). The elevators were also slow and there weren’t enough for the amount of guests at the hotel.

Cons: We arrived and checked in. As soon as we got into the room we were appalled. The ceiling was caved in with three ceiling tiles gone. Some tiles had wet spots with mold growing on them. Housekeeping was slacking because our bed looked like it was made by a toddler who rushed to make their bed. The smell of the room was that of mold. We ended up not staying we got a refund and stayed somewhere at half the price but so much better.

Cons: The hotel was clean-ish. First off we didn't request to switch rooms so that's on us. There was mold all over the lamp shade and ironing board. It's the beach so there's unavoidable moisture and we came right after hurricane Mathew so it wasn't surprising, but if the staff can't maintain the fabric surfaces maybe they could look into replacing the lamp shades with plastic instead of fabric. The beds and bathroom were clean, but there were notable tears in the couch. The stove had aluminum foil as drip trays, which just felt bad cause you can get those at the dollar store. There were cords hanging from the a/c that could have been hidden just by running them over the unit instead of under. The a/c in the bedroom also isn't sealed around the edges, could be done with spray foam insulation, so there is an extreme amount of street noise which is only drowned out when the a/c unit itself cuts on with the same noise level as a diesel generator. The breakfast is a couple of cheap grocery store pastries, 2 kinds of cereal, apple and orange juice, and coffee; so I wouldn't rely on it personally. Overall it's what I expected, ocean view at half the price but there are some things that, in my opinion, could have been better with just effort and better attention to the rooms on the hotel staffs part.

Cons: The old lady at the front desk wouldn't allow 2 of my buddies to come up to the room with my brother and I, and insisted they wait at the front desk while I went upstairs to change! She was extremely rude, and didn't care to make us feel welcomed. The room was dusty, 1 of the towels in the bathroom was clearly dirty (or permanently stained), and 1 of the beds was a bit undone (as if someone was laying on it prior to my arrival).

Pros: I liked the location being right on the beach and access to the interstate is simple. I also liked the staff, everyone was friendly and really nice.

Pros: Did not have a good experience. Charged extra just for arriving early, there wasn't space for parking, 2 adults and 2 kids and we only got a set of towels. The exit door was unsanitary, had a funky smell. The public bathroom at the hotel was unsanitary as well. I will never come back, nor will I recommend will this place to a friend.

Cons: The pool view room was a view out of our room of another window with a view of the pool. Also the pictures of the hotel where if another hotel. The breakfast left us wanting more.

Cons: The hotel was not very clean, the elevator was broken, laundry was left piled dirty in the hallway, the pool area was cluttered with food wrappers and as soon as you walk in there was screaming kids running around with the smell of smoke. The room had a hole in the wall, with a broken bathroom exhaust, missing light bulbs, limited outlets and "pool view" means that you have a window to the hallway and the hallway has a window to the pool. Another thing I thought was strange, there was no real blanket, just a sheet and the stylish cover.

Cons: I couldn't get my money back because I booked through a 3rd party....pictures are really deceiving... I should have read the reviews like I usually do...don't know what I was thinking...

Cons: The building is old, rooms are not clean enough, the fridge doesn't freeze enough, poor breakfast, breakfast room is small, no carpet on floor.

Cons: The room had zero towels and was located in a hall with no signage to stay quiet at night. The halls where round the clock loud with no manager to address. The room was dirty, zero towels, and musty. Avoid this hotel if at all possible!

Cons: The rooms smelt like mold they were suppose to have jacuzzis. The tube was there but no water, but it you go online they are still listed as having jet tubs.

Cons: 'm a pretty patient person, I'll start by saying that. I didn't complain, but there was definitely some issues. First, the parking. It's miserable compared to other beach hotels since it's not on site. Makes everything difficult have to walk a couple blocks every time I wanted something. Secondly, and probably most important, the hot water, or lack there-of. For three days I couldn't even get a warm shower, I have no idea what the problem is. But it's major. Thirdly, the temperature control in the room, is non-existent as well, luckily in was a mild couple of days so it wasn't too big of an issue, but it was still an uncomfortable 79-81 degrees most of the time. Not ideal for sleeping, but great for the cold showers I guess. And finally, this isn't really an issue of the hotels, but my last night there, I was woken up at 4 am by someone pounding on my door trying to get in my room. It wouldn't stop until I opened the door and it was a drunk lady that was at the wrong room. For someone that has a hard enough time sleeping, and having a important meeting the following morning, I was quite upset. But like I said, that's not the hotel's fault. More a product of price/ location. I wouldn't stay here again. Too many choices in VB.

Cons: Parking: No parking garage; parking is in a lot across the street and down about 1/2 block. If you do not display parking sticker, your car will be towed. I know this because mine was towed and impounded. However, this all could have been avoided if the desk clerk who signed me in and asked for my license number and state, had put the info in this notebook where all guests cars and license are to be entered, but mine wasn't, my car never would have been towed. The towing company checked with the hotel before towing my car and said the car was not registered to any guest at the Super 8. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG... So, it only cost me $140 to get my car out of the impound. Will I get Super 8 to pay for my car getting towed? Don't know but I will found out shortly.
Rooms: were "ok" but the room stunk from ammonia that was used to clean the floor. I had to leave the door to the beach side open for about 6 hours to clear the room.
The stafff: some nice, some rude
Would I stay here again, Heck NO! Trust me spend a little extra and be relaxed. I know I will the next time.
