Great room, location and a friendly staff Nothing really
Valet parking, the friendliness of the staff, having Star Bucks coffee in the lobby - the lounge area in the lobby where 11 of us had take-in dinner - good place for the 3 children to have space to relax. The children thought the glass doors to the bathrooms were funny - they could see the shadows of the person in the bathroom!
Other than the size of the room which is typical of NYC, overall a nice hotel. We travel to NYC 3-4 times a year. We liked the lobby area of this hotel, friendliness of staff and location on the upper westside. Room cleanliness could have been better and there is a large construction project going on next door so if you are traveling during the work week ask about room location
Location is great on upper west side. close to subway. Rooms very attractive and modern. I reserved a limo to Newark Airport when leaving. The Bell Captain arranged the ride. Fare was quaoted at $78 although the far was $62 on arrival. I agreed to pay. On arrival at the airport the driver could not accept credit. I don't think he was from a legitimate company. I refused - he took off - very stage. When arranging through hotels, this should not happen!
Location is great. Rooms are clean and big enough. Beds are high and a bit nerve racking with small children.
Liked the location, next to good restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, Central Park, museums. Subway is a five minute walk, can get downtown in 20 minutes. Digital thermostat was great for temp control in the room. Came with a Keurig and replenished with 3 k-cups every morning. The staff, especially the doormen, were very friendly and helpful. Serafina is connected to the lobby, has a great brunch. Some reviews stated the rooms were loud, we had no problem during our stay, it was quiet. The bed was very comfortable and sheets were soft. The room was on the small side, but expected in NYC and honestly all the room we needed for 2 people. Decor felt a little like a college dorm. The whole back wall with the TV was full of black scuffs and brown globs - looks like it has rarely been washed. Wish it would have came with a refrigerator as we weren't able to keep any cold drinks in the room. They are trying to be minimal with the decor in the bathroom, but only one towel hanger? Come on.
The bathroom/shower and large flat screen TV. Internet facilities ample and very useful. Hotel reception area not particularly well lit. Milk not readily available to make a drink in the room despite what appeared to be a top of the range coffee machine.
Excellent - will definitely stay there again in the future.
The room was nice and clean. It was close to Central Park and easy to get to the subway. The staff was very accommodating. The walls were a little thin so you could hear people in the next room or in the hallway.
comfortable, cosy rooms and friendly staff. Nice neighbourhood with a laid-back feel. The only problem was that the wifi is slow, unreliable and expensive.
The location is convenient and access to shops and restaurants in the proximity makes it an easy stay. The staff is friendly and assists in a professional manner when approached. The rooms are OK, but seem to be a little overloaded for a 2 bed configuration, which makes moving around difficult. The bathroom is OK, yet looks a bit sterile with a stainless steel sink. Good for a short stay, a bit uncomfortable for a longer stay.
The staff was very friendly and the location was perfect for us. They were decorating for Christmas when we were checking out, and it looked beautiful. Loved the Starbucks coffee bar in the lobby.
Breakfast was never available
Very close to the bus stop to take you to new york
I stayed for a night in Capri Inn.It was very affordable and decent. The room was large and had microwave and refrigerator also. It was worth for the price.
The stuff at the reception was friendly and helpfully in every way. The neighborhood is not so bad as some described it. The bed was pretty good. Room could have been cleaner. Little smelly in the Hotel. As already mentioned really thin walls...
What i like the most about is that everyone is so friendly and helpful. The staff was even friendly when i call to inquire some information before booking this hotel. I recommended this hotel to several people already. I will be back soon. Love Curacao no
A failed attempt to make your run of the mill sleazy motel motel into a hotel
Large bed, cable TV Can't open the window and... the room smells too much chemical spray.
orderly and without hinderance
I liked that it was not too far from Manhattan with the express bus across the road. They should act more professional. And clean the bathrooms a lot better! That would help a lot.
quiet, pleasant. I did not find a hair drier, but is okey
It was a cheap place to go for a night Was a bit dirty
What I didn't like was the room smelled like smoke and I ask for a non smoking room I had children with me we smelt like smoke leaving
the air blowing from the a/c smelt like feet. no tv. over priced
Clean and rish breakfast. The location is not what we had expected.
The hotel was very clean and ideally located near a subway station. From the station it took us 12 minutes to take the direct connection to Times Square. The hotel was very nice, but the neighbourhood was not so great. We never felt unsafe though. But we knew this in advance and the connection to Manhattan was very good and the hotel was affordable because it was not located in Manhattan.
Good location close to subway station and shord distance to Manhatten, good wi-fi, friendly staff small room for breakfest
Price and the fact that had a room open Staff very unwelcoming. Sheets had stains on them and not mention the huge stains on the carpet. Shower conditioner was used by last guest. Upon check in was told extending would be no problem the next day, just to call down and be told no then forced to check out with housekeeping banging on my door every couple mins asking me to leave. Overall, if you seen the movie, room 1408, I was there.
The room was filthy. Linen was dirty. Couch was broken. Yes there was running water but not much more.
Quiet ambient, good breakfast, convenient location and easy to reach. To me there is no bad point at all.
Great location. Extremely dirty, service was awful, the room smelled.
Convenient location, close to the subway, room well equipped and very clean, staff was very helpful breakfast room is very small and crowded
Very good location, easy trip mith subway to manhattan, superb view to Manhattan skylines, enough cheap, clean, polite personnel
The rooms were very clean and overall very nice - either new or recently remodeled. There is not a place to 'check' your luggage other than the lobby if you get in early or are leaving later than checkout time.
No parking. When I asked the desk for a 15 minute late checkout he said "do you know you're like the tenth person to ask me for that today?" My reply was "so is that a no?" In the end I checked out at normal time and housekeeping wasn't even on my foor.
The beds are extremely comfortable & very likely to get a good night's sleep. I have stayed @ Hampton Inn previously for last 2 years. There was once a greeter, a young upbeat guy, who would greet, interact w/guests, and make sure he said good morning to guests as they arrived for breakfast. He was a great asset to the hotel, but sure he has moved on in life. No one greeted guests @ breakfast during my stay, did no see any staff interacting w/ guests to see if anything was needed.
Everything was perfect here. We enjoyed our stay. Nothing.
Well first of all I would like to say I checked all the other hotels online this hotel is absolutely the best prices the best Hotel staff I've ever seen in any hotel in New York City and abroad they're very friendly helpful respectful I love the fact that it's way way far from the city the gym is excellent the pool was excellent food is excellent this is my get away to paradise when me and my wife just want to get away from the hustle and bustle this is where we come
Suite was not cool d by air conditioner.
Staff was very friendly and attentive. The bed was uber comfortable and clean. The breakfast was satisfying and tasty. I liked that they had an indoor pool, gym, and a bar.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast line was a bit crazy. Took a while to get what I wanted and it seemed like the staff had a hard time keeping up with the number of people at breakfast.
Well laid out, and comfortable. Nice reception areas and good breakfast. hotel overbooked on arrival meaning we were transferred out - not happy!
style, comfort, free breakfast, courteous staff. had to pay for wi-fi that should have been free given the price of the room. lost connection to to wi-fi too many times.
Love the staff, very nice people. Very professional and always helpful --- Love the rooms, comfortable and clean Have stayed here three times so far and all three times were great
We loved the huge rooms. I wish they had said it was a 2 bedroom, we would have taken a friend along. We figured it was just a normal room with 2 beds. It's always nice to know when you have an extra room.
Nice rooms. Standard . Free upgrade . Close to time square . Very noisy . I can hear everything from the streets . But overall great place
Location was extremely ideal! There was no thermostat so I wasn't able to control the heat. It happened to be the coldest weekend in NYC and the existing heater wasn't keeping up, making our room get pretty cold. I'm sure it wouldn't matter if it hadn't had gotten that cold
Beds were decently comfortable. The showers were awful and almost gave us burns due to randomly shifting temperatures. If our daughter were there I guarantee she would have been burned. The staff wasn't the most helpful after we asked them about it either. The bell hops were hard to find and unfriendly. The elevators were slow and tiny. I stay in NYC quite often and this has been the worst place I've stayed. I will not be staying again.
The only good service I got was from the room service staff and the hotel handyman who came to help we with my heat after being dismissed by the front desk attendant The front desk staff I encountered upon check in was beyond rude, beyond inhospitable. I had to wonder if I was getting a rom for charity or had I not just spent a tidy sum to stay there. As a business owner, I had to speak to the management whose response was less than satisfactory. Had my check in by been at 11pm I would've cancelled and stayed elsewhere. Had I not been tired- the sidewalk outside would have sufficed. I will NEVER stay there again not recommend anyone to. I have Zero tolerance for bad service and rude staff. They should be let go or out around the back to count towels or something. Not interact with humans
the location was great. Close to several attractions - times square, rockefeller, central park, etc. the bathrooms need updating
The location was the only thing this place has going for it. The rooms ware super old. Old furniture. Super small bathrooms. Extremely small showers. Not clean. A real dump in my opinion.
Nice size living and bed room. Bath was small but nice arrangement. Wifi charges outrageous. Staff were not happy with their jobs.
Location was great. Next to Carnegie Hall and convenient to the subway. Comfortable beds. Front desk staff were friendly We did get free internet Shower ran hot and cold with no notice. Bathroom was cold, felt like it had no heat Difficult to ask assistance because the front desk was always busy and there was either no concierge or the one available was not very helpful or friendly
I liked the location to Central Park and Times Square. Ice machine access and air conditioner was touchy
It is located 10 minutes from Times Square and 2 minutes from Central Park. The room was not luxurious, but it was perfect for sleeping.
The location was all we paid for. Great spot. The room was half the size of the photos and there was hardly room for the bed. The hair hair dryer set the smoke detector off. No fridge. No microwave. Had to pay for internet. Pretty much a bed storage closet with a smoking hair dryer.
great location very expensive food
as this was christmas the hotel lookes lovely the staff were very helpful and the location was good fot central park area
The Library is a gem.....Outstanding food, service and ambiance
the hotel was very centally located i did not like the way we were receives at the reception desk.the person that receiveved us was very to the point and did very little effort to try to accomidate us.
The locationa and staff is great. The Hotel rooms are shabby
The location of the Hotel. Very close to the shopping area and to Central park.
the location is great- staff helpful
Friendly staff and traditional hotel
Good location near main atractions Yes, bad attention, lack of amenities.
It is a small elegant hotel. The rooms were spacious and beautifully appointed. We loved the hotel, but returned to find our room had not been made up all day. They got someone right up to us, but I was surprised by that.
It was in Manhattan, and had a bit of character- though not original to the time period so that's a bit unfortunate. There's decent coffee for sale in the lobby. Appeared to not overcharge me, and no sign of bed bugs! Room was 13' by 9' -that is being generous with the arms pan - that didn't really matter since we didn't hang out there, but it was laughable. Also had a shirt fall of a hanger just to retrieve it covered in dust bunnies. Key cards stopped working halfway through, not a big issue except it's a stair run up/down as the elevators are a bit wonky. Was hoping for old charm, didn't have much of it. Not really worth spending extra, overall. Seems like over $300 will get something special, otherwise might as well just book a Holiday Inn or something basic.
the staff was vert friendly and helpful. the room was largge for ny and very comfortable. the diner across fromthe hotel was very ny and had quiet a variety and would deliver. market closs by. everything you neeed for a relaxing ny trip their were problems with elevator but not serious to cause any discomfort
three windows in my room. Three urns of cold drinks in the lobby every afternoon. only one small elevator working for the entire week
The room was very clean, the set up of the room was modern and fresh! would stay again. they are doing renovations on certain floors.
Location is perfect, hotel is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Desk staff was consistently rude over 4 days. Not so much to me but anytime I walked through the lobby I overheard snippy sarcastic remarks being made in response to questions.
The crisp white linens every day along with big fluffy towels. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. Being able to check our bags for a couple of hours on the day of departure prior to leaving for the airport was very appreciated.
staff and cleanliness the elevator did not work. We went to the service elevator.
Clean, nicely designed rooms; comfortable and cozy Construction work in rooms opposite - woken up by loud drilling and hammering at 9am for two of my three night stay. I think I should have been alerted to this fact before I registered.
Location Price Cleanliness
Friendly staff Facility, Elevator was not working. We had to use staff elevator. Construction/renovation on the floor, right in front of my room. Dust and noise.
The room was decorated beautifully with a nice contemporary feel and the bed was comfortable. Mold in the bathtub tile wall. There was quiet a lot of it so doesn't appear they do a good job of cleaning the rooms.
Flight was delayed a full day, so we headed over to the hotel and was pleasantly surprised at the how much we got for our money's worth! The staff was extremely accommodating as well.
I liked everything about it I felt at home. Nothing
everything else Slow Wifi..
Great service and good facilities.close to Manhattan.Strongly recommend this hotel
Everything from the location to the meals include with the service.
The entire stay was comfortable and very convenient, but the best part was the staff. They were genuine and helpful beyond our expectations. They made us feel like their friends. Can't wait to go back!
Overall just a average hotel Staff limited English skills. Elevator smelled of vomit. Rate didn't match for condition, should be cheaper.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable stay. The pool and hot tub closes early.
The staff was amazing, especially Yun. They were incredibly friendly and helpful.
Everything was just perfect....
Was able to check in early with no hassle When my mom found a stain on the sheets the staff ladie came immediately to change the bedding Had a mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave in the room and an ice machine right down the hall The breakfast staff kept staring at me like I was going to steal something, that made me feel uncomfortable The WiFi didn't work very well but that may have been because of how many other guests were also using it
the uniformed doormen and elevator operators.
The rooms were beautifully updated and luxurious. The location is perfect. The only thing that we didn't like was the very, very long wait for room service, especially when it was obvious that the hotel had few guests that weekend.
We were impressed by the friendly staff and the feeling of being made very welcome. All the staff we talked to were so polite and friendly and obviously enjoyed their working environment at the hotel. no, nothing
Quiet and luxury. I think is too expensive comparing with Plaza were I was for 3 nights on the same trip.
Amazing park view from the room
The top, or at least very close to it; you still feel at home, or perhaps even better than at home, with a very friendly and helpful staff.
i visited nyc no everything was perfect
Rooms are way tooooooooo small!!!!!!!!!! The bathroom, tiny!!!!!!!!!! The headboard on bed, dirty!!!!!! Not acceptable!!! No extras in regards to pillows and linens. Location, great!
The position near Times Square - the bed was very big the room was small - the wardrobe was small and there was little space for luggage
The hotel was exactly what I needed it to be. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The room was extremely clean, and the bathroom was updated. I would definitely stay here again. The location of the hotel was absolutely wonderful… Close to Times Square and close to the subway station which takes you everywhere you need to go in New York City. The only con would be the size of the room, but that was not a problem for me because I was by myself. Most rooms in New York City are very small so I would not put this as a negative for this hotel.
Hotel was central to all the sights and sound of NYC we will be returning!!! Times Square a short walk from one end of the street and Hells Kitchen District packed with great bars and restaurants at the other....great Sushi place next door. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean with fresh soft towels and clean linen everyday. Car service available from the hotel to the airport was also great......most hassle free holiday I think i have ever been on!!
Easy to find, central to metro, restaurants and bars. The staff were very good, no issues. The room was very clean and tidy and the KS bed was very comfortable. Overall I would stay again. Only two minor issues, some street noise at front of hotel and the toilet/shower are could have been slightly bigger
Great location, free wi-fi, friendly & helpful staff . Tiny rooms, hotel amenities.
Clean, cosy, Staff is very nice and helpfull. Small rooms.
Sorry to say but nothing. Our luggage (2 med sz) took up half of our floor walking space. The bathroom was tiny. I am 5'1" and didn't have enough elbow room. The entrance to the hotel was presentable until we stepped into the hallway leading to the stairs which we had to take since the ancient elevator would operate at a turtle pace. Climbing up 3 flights of stairs was a lot faster. We were very dissapointed with the room for the amount we paid for the stay.
This is a wonderful establishment where we stayed for almost a full week. The doorman was very polite, as were the receptionists. We had a few special requests, which were all met with ease. When we commented that the room was a little small they showed us a larger room, which we chose to decline. Our room ended up being perfect for the two of us. The sushi restaurant on the first floor is incredible, we dined there twice during our stay. Everyone is very attentive here. I am very excited to plan our next trip and return to this hotel.
Location was excellent Room was too small and cramped for the price.
Staff were very friendly, especially the concierge. Room was really clean. no complaints
The size of the room was bigger the expected and the location was fab! The staff were very friendly.
The room and lobby were beautifully decorated and the hotel was in a great location right in the middle of manhattan. The staff was very professional and extremely helpful. The room was agonizingly small for the amount of money we paid for it. When we checked in the lady behind the desk said she was "upgrading" us, and we barely had enough room to walk around the bed. I shudder to think of how small our room was before the "upgrade".
The value of the rates given the the area is great and it is centrally located in mid-town. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My room was noisy in the morning but quiet most of the other times.
Small rooms, great location. Good staff. Nice lobby
The rooftop deck had great views and location was good They charge you for everything and it's super overpriced. The pool was a disappointment it's as big as a pickup truck
Room very very small for paying that price. My window view was of another building like 3 inches apart. Sink wouldn't drain, remote control wouldn't work. Otherwise, the staff was nice and the bed was comfortable.
I didn't sleep well- the bed was as hard as a rock. Good location
Nice lounge. Great location. Easy in / out. Flakey WiFi
Our stall shower was missing the sliding door. The bathroom got soaked during every shower
The Empire charges mini bar rates for Keurig coffee in room. The bathroom was very, very small which made it difficult to use comfortably, and we are very small people.
Location Too old and the room was too small worthless
Great value for location in central NYC. No complaints
The Empire Hotel was much, much nicer than I expected, considering that it is one of the more affordable options in Manhattan. The lobby was very stylish and featured a nice bar where people were meeting for drinks and snacks etc. The room was very small, but that is typical in big cities, and it was really nicely done, with a lovely bed, lots of towels and toiletries, etc. It felt very comfortable. The location is amazing: Lincoln Center is literally across the street, the subway is half a block away, and you can easily walk to dozens of attractions and the park. This will be my go to hotel from now on in NYC. The movies were a bit expensive to rent ($19!) but the internet was strong and cheap, so it didn't matter. I could hear the folks in the next room, but they were having an argument (whoops) and otherwise I couldn't hear anyone. NYC is noisy, so there's always going to be some noise. I really don't even consider these complaints, to be honest.
Bathroom look old!
Great location, good room comfort. When you book the price seems to be great, but then you find that the Internet is not included and also the bagage keeping has a cost.
It was in walking distance to all we wanted and needed to see. (5th Ave, Times Square, Broadway, Rock Center....) Nice view from window. Exciting, interesting lobby, and the lounge was wonderful. Room was cozy and restful after busy day. The room decor was very soothing. Waterspots and wallpaper coming off walls on 12th floor. No floor mat in bathrooms. It was total sticker-shock when we got the bill for our breakfast buffet--they should post the price. Not everyone is used to Big City prices. Also, staff didn't smile.
Nice sized room for NY. Updated and modern. Heat was stuck on high and it was super hot. Luckily the windows work and we could get a cold breeze. Pillows were fluffy and flat at the same time.
Location, Location For the money we aid, we should have a t lest a coffe maker in room/water
Very clean, great location! I have stayed here a few times and always have a nice time there. The cleaning staff is so friendly. The food at the hotel is very expensive. I searched all over for an atm machine and couldn't find one. The lines for the elevator can be a bit long
clean and mid town so all the attraction you can cover by walk breakfast was not included while we expected bed and breakfast
Clean room with a comfortable bed. The hotel is very centrally located with many attractions close by. Staff was very efficient and friendly. The walls are paper thin and we had very loud neighbors. We could hear everything going on in the room next door. Unfortunately the neighbors were very inconsiderate and we had to call down to security to ask them to be quiet.
Great location. Close to Times Square, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center. Large rooms for a New York hotel. Very professionally run and business like facility. High energy level with constant activity in the public areas. It isn't cheap but you can easily pay more for less value in NYC.
It was close to all the places we wanted to see. Walk to Times Square, subway nearby, etc.. Lots of restaurants all around. We had a corner room so view in 2 directions! Nothing
Location check in staff
Upon arrival I was informed that there was no room for me. They sent me down to the marcel hotel on 24th street. Was given the option to return to Bentley the next day or if I liked the marcel then I could stay there instead. Great room at the marcel ( first it was one bed which didn't work for me then they found me one with two beds). Next day I tell them I would stay there as the room was perfect they informed me that they had to move me to another room. They also informed me the rate was higher... MUCH HIGHER than the kayak rate. Obviously I vehemently disagreed and demanded I stay in the same room I spent the night before. To which I was told I "didn't understand the hospitality business" and needed to still move. I then questioned their hospitality. Long story short after much arguing the rate did not change but I reluctantly changed rooms (not as nice as the original room) and then went on to enjoy the rest of my time in nyc.
The bed was comfortable. Staff was helpful. Lobby is a bit awkward, bathrooms say for employees only, the staff was really nice though. Restaurant wasn't open on a Friday night. I won't stay there again
The location was perfect for our needs. The shower and sink needed maintenance, they leaked and were hard to use. The room was very small. The hotel was more worried about the mini bar and trying to charge us for things we did not want or use than they were about anything else. Wifi in room is not free.
Pretty decent hotel. The location is right next to the FDR freeway entrance so do expect a little noise, but that didn't bother me because, after all, you are in New York City. I was still able to sleep. I felt like we were in a pretty decent area of the city and for the most part, it was a clean neighborhood where we didn't run into tourists everywhere. Staffs are pretty friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. We got the 2 beds deluxe room and that's more than enough room for 2 people. Beds were comfortable. They have a nice restaurant on the top floor and a bar next to the lobby that open til 4 am so we def took advantage of that! You're several blocks from the nearest subway station but that's ok, I needed the walk. I'll def book this hotel again. No free wi-fi, unless you wanna hang out in the hotel lobby, and who wants to do that after a long day in the city. Most standard hotels, even the cheap motels, comes with free wi-fi. Shower door was a bit weird but I got it down after second day to prevent getting water everywhere on the bathroom floor.
The staff was amazing! We had loud neighbors in the adjacent room, I went to the desk and the issue was immediately resolved by placing us in a different room. Our bartender recommend some incredible dining options. Overall our stay was wonderful!
The staff were helpful and courteous, the room was comfortable and clean, the toiletries provided were excellent, the hotel decor is sort of Asian Noir that is both fun and tasteful, parking is very close and not expensive. Dearth of outlets in the room. No valet parking. Must check prices on provided extras since, though comprehensive, they are quite pricey.
Clean, nicely appointed, spacious rooms. Didn't notice street noise. Great value.
Rooms to small , service horrible . Not a place to stay for vacation or business .
Black water coming out of the tub and sink, which completely disrupted and made us late for my hospital surgery
The bed was comfortable and there certainly were enough pillows. Room temperature was comfortable which meant the thermostat actually worked Did not like the fact there was no refrigerator. If people were in the rooms on either side you could hear their conversations. People would come in after midnight and be talking in their room and that would wake me out of a deep sleep. The chest drawer would not stay closed. Certainly that was something that should have been taken care of. Housekeeping left much to be desired. Towels were a big problem, so I just took several at a time and didn't have housekeeping come into the room. Even if they came in, they didn't leave enough washcloths and hand towels.
Good value for Manhattan. The shower door. Imagine a two piece glass door where one piece has been removed.
I like the fact the neighborhood had so many kids and a playground was a block up. The staff was nice and knowledgeable. The hotel is position by a bridge. The hotel does offer parking but in a crappy garage a block up from the hotel. The hotel could be nice if the owner would throw away old worn out furniture. The hotel is weird and please don't get a standard room
Room larger than typical for the area, staff were very helpful, walking distance to many restaurants and places we wanted to visit Though coffee places were nearby, it would be nice to get an early morning coffee without venturing outside the hotel. Perhaps marketplace kiosk could be open 24/7
Loved the decor and the staff was super friendly. Great location, anything you could want right around the corner. Nothing, some people said it was small, but not if your used to New York spaces.
they were very accommodating and friendly. the rooms were perfect sizes and beds were very comfortable. the facility charge. we only stayed from 7pm at night until 12pm the next day so we didn't even use any of the facilities that were included in the charging so we thought it was a bit unfair to be charged that amount if we weren't even there long enough to use it.
I love the Park Central Hotel. It is our 2nd time to stay there. We originally stayed at Park Central in July 2014 and had an amazing experience all around. The staff, the room, the bathroom, the concierge, the location were all wonderful! Our 2nd stay in June 2016 was nice but not as excellent as in 2014. I booked the Park Central through hotels.com in 2014 and 2016. I chose it for the clean and well kept rooms, the location and the price is fair. In June 2016, We were put in a "courtyard room (graveyard)" because of the price that we paid. If we spent $75 more a night they would upgrade us to a normal room. This room had a window but barely let in any natural light. You couldn't see what the weather was like until you went outside. The bathroom was so tiny that the only way 2 people could be in there at the same time was if someone was in the shower and the other at the sink. The shower was a tiny stall! I couldn't bath without my elbows hitting the walls. Although, the similar price in 2014 gave us an amazing room with a street view and a huge bathroom (no need to upgrade). The staff on this last trip were friendly but seemed to be rushed. Not the cozy vibe that we had in 2014.
Location, decor, common areas Elevators are too small, most of rooms are good size but we booked on priceline and they dont guarantee your bed type (not disclosed) and we were put in the back small room with two double beds. Much smaller than majority of rooms as ai have stayed another time and it was much larger.
Location After dinner , wife an I ready to go to bed, my wife noticed pillow cases nor linen was changed. We are avid travelers, we were horrified! Head of housekeeping had it changed at 9:00, but wife an I were tired and this event made us stand in hallway for almost an hour till changes were made.
The hotel is very well located and accessible. Only minor drawback were the elevators. Too few and one got stuck on Tuesday and I had to climb 11 floors to my room. Excellent cardio though.
Everything was clean and nicely decorated Parking $70/day
Clean, comfortable, great location. Still not sure how much I will be charged. I was invoiced a certain amount which does not reflect the amount charged to my card.
The hotel was great..it was clean, spacious and comfortable. Central location for everything. But there's hidden fees when you get there. There's a $35 facility fee per day and since the stay wasn't booked directly through them you also have a $60 parking fee per day.. so overall it's better to book directly through them since you really don't save through any third party sites.. it comes out to about the same with all these hidden fees
Comparing with Hyatt (4 stars) in DC, Holiday inn (3 stars) in Buffalo and Holiday inn (3 stars) at 57th street NYC, this so called 4 stars hotel-Park central is nothing. The only advantage you have is location.1.The room is quite small, no coffee maker (I requested 2 times by phone, excluded I came to the front desk to request face to face),no refrigerator(you need to request, the quantity is limited and no one replied about whether they would supply or not.) 2.No hair conditioner in the bottle at the first night I stayed. After the third night, I left a note in the bathroom for the housekeeper and said"please refill the conditioner. Thanks." No one cared about this. The bottle was still empty. 3. Airconditioner was broken. Luckily the front desk changed a room for me. This is the worst experience I have in NYC. I am pretty sure I will not choose this hotel in the future and tell others about this experience. Again, if you don't care about the service at all, choose it. If you don't mind to walk several minutes more to Times Square or other sites and want better service and bigger room, Holiday inn midtown at 57th street is a good choice. And the rate is lower than park central.
It is near for everything, service is good, clean
Location in midtown is excellent The restaurant is not special and there is no dedicated lounge area
Upon entering the hotel I marveled at the grand chandelier beaming overhead. I felt like I was entering a royal facility! The reception was pleasant and professional, quick to check me in. After unpacking in my room, I asked for a change of room. Due to the surprise of my room facing a wall of another building, scratches on the furniture, low room temp, dark/ not enough light, and low cell phone signal. I called downstairs, and within 5 minutes I was pleasantly upgraded to a 1 Bedroom Suite. Let me say, the Suite life is for me! Yes! My Suite had parque flooring, marble wall and interior. The separate living room had 12 lush red pillows on 2 black striped sofas, complete w mini bar, separate bathroom and a huge mirrored wall. Exquisite! My bedroom was outstanding! 60 inch flat screen TV, golden gilded glass desk, walk in closet and the bathroom had a bidet. Oh what a wonderful experience! I didn't like that Wifi wasn't already included in the room feature; it was an additional charge of $15 p/day! Ridiculous. They have to change that, it's modern to include Wifi in the Hotel room itself.
My boyfriend & I arrived separately. So I left a note with front desk reception to ask him to meet me for dinner. When he checked in, it was communicated. We originally had a suite next to the elevators on the 7 floor, but the white decor left me feeling too whitewashed. I requested another suite line on the same floor. Within 10 minutes the change was made and our new suite felt warm and cozy! This is my 2nd stay here & we enjoyed our stay. We'll return here for sure. I didn't like that Wifi isn't included in our room rate. You have to go to the lobby area in order to get it. Let's face it; that's sucky. It should already be included in your room rate. Also I think the continental breakfast should include more options like eggs, along with the pastries. Maybe even dried salami/ select meats.
We enjoyed our stay the rooms were beautiful and well kept. the staff was exceptional, they paid alot of attention to detail.
staff generally very friendly, rooms really great...staff actively upgraded us. quiet, peaceful; bathrooms nice, clean, friendly, bellmen great, helpful, went out of their way, would clearly come again and recommend to others. waitress at bar a little off putting. had some difficulty storing bags at checkout....seems that some people did not want them.
the location was perfect for a weekend in New York. The room was spotless. The complimentary breakfast was the icing in the cake. When we arrived, the front desk staff was so busy talking among themselves that they didn't notice us when we walked up, we had to politely interrupt them.
good hotel no
Centrally located cozy Hairs in the tub :x
Nice size room, very comfortable bed, adequate closet space, fabulous shower, ample comfortable soft towels, jingling chandelier lights in the elevators, breakfast room with coffee & croissants Noise neighbors - caused us a loss of a solid night's sleep. Would have preferred a coffee maker in the room.
The concierge The. Breakfast and the fact that the windows were so filthy we couldn't see outside the window
Ambiance of Europe . Clean and tidy . . All the furnitures were in good shape. Air conditioning system is old and noisy
big room a bit corny
The location of the hotel was superb within walking distance of all the major attractions that we wanted to visit. We experienced two problems during our stay at the hotel and it was at these times that we felt disappointed with the service provided by the hotel. We found them to be inefficient with what we were asking of them and at times rude. This was made more disappointing because when there wasn't a problem, as a general rule, the staff were pleasant.
Your hotel is located at the heart of Manhattan and it was very convinient for sightseeing.
Great Location 1) No Robes or slippers 2) Only catered for coffee drinkers in room NO tea making facilities
location fittness room
exellent location. Very helpful staff
Location is very good, convenient. The room is smelly & small for the superior room. The service is very rough, doesn't meet the standard of Sheraton service as I expect.
It's location only The late checking in times, and the room service was poor
nice room, good price, excellent location
Location, Price Attitude of service staff. The fornt desk was very good. the support staff from baggage check to getting a cab were unfriendly and lacked customer appreciation.
facilities such as a bar, library. Also very good atmosphere poor air conditioning that kept breaking and the issue wasn't being addressed promptly
Location. Close Columbus circle. Lobby. Room was extremely small. Bath and Toilet was extremely small too. Bedding was tared which made me don't want to sleep in the bedding. I slept on the bedding. Don't recommend you to stay. I can not believe that I payed almost $250 for this kind of room.
The room was very small with about 3 1/2 ft on one side of the bed and 2 1/2 on the other. We had a very hard time keeping the room temp adjusted since the air seemed to blow on the head of the bed. My wife eventually slept with her head toward the foot of the bed. The bathroom is so small I am not sure how someone large could sit on the toilet. My knees were 2 1/2" from the wall and I am 5'9".
A comfortable place to sleep and a great location. It's akin to staying with a friend albeit one who charges you ~$300 per night. Rooms are very small with noisy air conditioning
Central, fun, clean and very good staff. Smallest rooms I have ever seen. It works though so I suppose it is not a serious criticism.
Atmosphere Prices of food
The staff were absolutely excellent..couldnt be more helpful and the hotel is fabulous The rooms are obviously very small and I understand nothing can be done about that but maybe a smaller rate could have been charged
Very good location, comfortable beds, nice and clean. A very good choice.
bar , restaurant, loby.
staff were very helpful and very welcoming, hotel is in avery good location 5 mins walk from central park. Reception is amazing hotel very busy but atmosphere very tranquil. Need to be more aware of residents and use of facilities, after being out all day we arrived back to the hotel for a drink was informed that the area was reserved, went to the other bar where it was close for a private function, was told to use the bar in the "club" area when after a while we were told we would have to move as our table was reserved, so there was no where for residents, although staff were understanding we still had no where to go.
Good location, staff was helpful. The bathroom is so small you had to crawl around the commode to get to the shower. The faucet in the sink was dripping, The room had in adequate lighting, and the clock was set for an incorrect time.
I loved staying at the Hudson, it was my home away from home. The location is excellent, the design is fun and funky, the decor is well thought out, staff are friendly and helpful, the room clean, the bed very comfortable and the shower water was hot. The Sky Terrace and Garden Room, one of the reasons I chose to stay here, were both closed. This was disappointing. The closure info should be made available on the website.
