Hilton York

Hilton York has rooms with unique views over the Medieval-like district of York, with all the modern facilities at your disposal on site. You can dine at its fine restaurant, taste locally produced gin, work out in the fitness centre or conduct business - all on the same premises for optimal convenience when you’re visiting York.

To make the best of the historic district in which Hilton York is located, we can recommend that you book the Double Deluxe Room With Balcony Tower View. It’s one of the hotel’s mid-range rooms that looks out directly onto Clifford’s Tower, as the name suggests. You’ll have your own balcony on which to have coffee while admiring the surrounding architecture. At night, you can enjoy the feel of sleeping in 400 thread count bed linen.

Hilton York offers the convenience of a very well-equipped gym, which is open 24 hours a day. It has a full range of the latest cardio equipment, including orbitals, treadmills and rowing machines, as well as a weight room with free weights and exercise machines. You can also use a spin bike if that’s your preferred way of keeping in shape. A separate stretching area is provided for you to warm up and cool down.

The hotel’s restaurant is actually one of York’s main culinary attractions, once more taking full advantage of its historic location. The aptly named Tower’s Restaurant has an adventurous menu, served to your table with a view of Clifford’s Tower. The cuisine is broadly European, with every dish having an innovative twist. For lighter meals or cocktails, there’s Rose Within The Walls, a gin bar that offers tastings of York’s renowned local tipple, Mason’s Gin.

Business events are catered for in the form of eight different meeting rooms, conference venues and reception or banqueting areas. The largest can accommodate up to 200 business delegates or guests. These can be combined and configured in a number of additional layouts, depending on the type of event your company is hosting, such as square, U-shaped, theatre or school-room style. The hotel can provide about 130 rooms for conference guests to stay in.

The nearest commercial airport to the hotel is Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA), which is about 25 miles away. It will take you around 40min to drive there directly or to get there by taxi. If you’re relying on public transport, the fastest way to get to the hotel is to take the train that goes to Leeds and then Horsforth, from where you can catch an A1 or A2 bus to the airport. Your total travel time will usually come in at a bit under 1h 30min.
