The place is closely located to the Centraal train station and right on the edge of the Red Light District. Bar downstairs serves a good english breakfast for $5 euro per person until 2pm and they make a great coffee. Please read the negatives they far outweigh the positives.
If you want to sleep at all during your visit this is not the place for you! Doors slamming every 5 minutes all night long, cleaning lady starts vacuuming at 8am, you can hear everything that happens in and outside of the place. Very noisy outside and inside. The bed is extremely firm, the bedding like sandpaper and the pillows like lumpy bags of sand. Bar downstairs is nice but we found it to be the most expensive in the all of Amsterdam. I would only recommend to people who plan on partying all night and don't care to sleep. Oh, almost forgot to mention the fire alarms that kept going off while we were there from people smoking in their rooms.
I am very sorry to not remember his name, but the guy who checked us in was super helpful and really great to us. Being painfully obvious tourists, we needed some information about directions, places to eat, and best uses of our limited time in Amsterdam, and he was amazing on all counts. Would stay here again just for his advice!
The rooms are nothing to write home about - very small. Not much room for anything other than the bed. However, with this hotel's great location, free wifi, and in-suite bathrooms, you can't beat it for the price.
The hotel staff were very nice and the service was excellent. There was a constant smell of marijuana in the hallway, which didn't bother us however.
The housekeeper had forgotten to close the window with a special key, so it was quite cold in the room for the first night. The staff fixed the problem immediately as we informed them next morning. Shit happens.
Very warm room, shower and bed
Clan and modern rooms. Perfect location. Friendly staff. Nothing better in Amsterdam in their prices cannot be expected.
The best of it is location - ur in between all main activities and close to station, but same time the street is enough silent at night. Standard room size was all right. Staff was polite and helpful.
Stairs are very steep and it was a challenge to get down with the suitcase. Last morning when you have to check out if you wont be out of the room till 10:00 they will knock you at door at 10:01 telling you have to check out! During 3 nights stay they did not change the bedclothes nor the towels. When we booked hotel almost next day they made pre-authorization of credit-card so all the sum indicated for period of stay was blocked on account as bank such ”pre-authorization” considers as payment. It was released just after more than 14 days which was really inconvenient (such "release" time could be different depending on particular bank). Same ”nice” pre-authorization was made 10 days before we came so again money was blocked!
central to all locations we prrefere the deluxe rooms as well they had more room.
the stairs ha ha dont take a big suitcase like me.
The Frisco Inn was very basic accomodation, very central and the rooms were very clean. The staff in the bar were very helpful as well
The only thing i didn't like about hotel was the stairs and the size of the rooms, to me thats what matters to me when staying somewhere other than home.
Staff was really great, price was good... Location was about the best you could have, 5 mins from the train station, 1 block from the red- light district...
Rooms were very small, but I knew that going in...
The hotel staff were very helpful with check in and any other questions we had during our stay. Rooms were modern and clean and pretty quiet considering the location of the hotel. Well located hotel close to everything the city has to offer.
