6.0 Good
Pros: Large room gd size, pool area,
Cons: Food, pricing experience for what it is,2singles beds pushed together not gd
7.0 Good
Pros: Bed was extremely comfortable. Room had everything we needed. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. My partner was very impressed with the gym.
Cons: Service for our Friday evening meal in the restaurant was rather 'hit and miss'; much better Saturday. (The food, when it arrived, was good.) If the hotel claims to be environmentally friendly about the re-use of towels, why doesn't it train the staff to notice where towels are left each day and not replace them when they are left on the rails?
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very lovely and loved a lovely message in a room by a housekeeper. I think, it was really sweet. It was tidy and not as noisy, as from experiences from other hotels the noise can be a nightmare, especially if you are visiting for business and need to be fresh the next day. Food in the restaurant was quite nice as well and affordable.
Cons: One thing, I would say is that when I looked a few days ago the rate was £59 and I paid £79 which I think is a huge jump in the pricing. Also, the breakfast for additional £15 is a bit unfair when I heard that others were paying £79 including breakfast. I was planning to stay again due to business, but right now I feel like if people are not charged the same than it's not really fair. Also the shower curtain smelled hence I feel like shower curtains are not very hygienic.

Pros: Fabulous breakfast, amazing grounds, lovely pool & spa
Cons: Lunch options, general training of staff
5.4 Okay
Pros: Pretty grounds, old stately home
Cons: Had to walk miles to our room. Hot tub we couldn’t use
7.5 Good
Pros: Service wasn’t great and the breakfast buffet was very basic.
Cons: Hotel itself beautiful but checkout was very rather early at 11am and the service was slow
4.0 Okay
Pros: Stunning historical English country house and estate not far outside London with beautiful grounds. The residents lounge featured a great ambiance and collection of whiskies.
Cons: As per Wikipedia states: Cliveden has become one of the National Trust's most popular pay-for-entry visitor attractions, hosting 483,754 visitors in 2018. This means that for the residents that any hope of an exclusive restful visit are futile. An invasion of visitors come on to the estate during the weekend. Also, the staff as well as quality of execution are nowhere near what the price level would imply.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and approachable staff. Beautiful and peaceful location. Enjoyed the restaurant with a view over the lawns with their active bird life. Loved the dining room curtains
Cons: Nothing - tip-top stay
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The individually exceptionally comfortable named rooms Majority of staff can’t do enough for you and attend your every whim
Cons: The food was excellent but it was let down by shoddy service on this occasion
8.5 Excellent
Pros: This place is amazing! The house and rooms are beautiful and well maintained. The grounds are breathtaking. The food was excellent.
Cons: Maid service slammed doors while cleaning mid day while we were napping. The house is directly under a flight path which is loud at times. The boat tour was nice, but the captain could have been way more personable and informative for the price we paid.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.

7.0 Good
Pros: Location was very good. Gardens lovely.
Cons: Breakfast. Quite expensive. Bit greasy, and not quite what I asked for. Needed to remind about some parts of the order. Tea not very nice. Service a bit disjointed although staff very pleasant.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property has been refurbished well and is extremely comfortable. The staff were wonderfully helpful and looked after all of our needs. From the welcome desk to the bar to the restaurant everyone was friendly and professional. Nothing seemed too big an ask. Our room was comfortable and clean and the complementary mini bar meant we didn’t need to leave our room in the high winds to go and get a drink. The lounge in the temple room was excellent. We went and had coffee and sat and watched the river. Our stay at The Monkey Island Estate was Idyllic.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Room with shower only was swapped for one with a bath on request.
Cons: Breakfast at £25 each was poor with no tomato or mushrooms as delivery hadn’t arrived. No berries, poor selection of fruit and only 1 yoghurt choice. Ran out of hot water running a bath and tv was not tuned properly. Told staff on check out but no response from management. Not 5star at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived we were greeted from the car, our bags taken and escorted to our room even offered a free upgrade. The estate, grounds and rooms were so exquisite and beautiful. After our night out and our return to the hotel we had our bed rolled back, bins emptied, clean towels, 4 cupcakes and deep sleep pillow sprays left in our room. Such a lovely touch and the attention to detail was spot on we will most definitely return as we loved our stay, the best and relaxing stay ever and we were made to feel really special .
Cons: Nothing everything was perfect and we were made to feel so special
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were lucky as the hotel was not busy and they upgraded us to the island and a lovely room. The room was amazing. The service in the restaurant and food was excellent but expensive. We had a three course meal and two drinks each not even a bottle of wine and the bill was £140!
Cons: We came back after a day out around 4pm and housekeeping had not been. We had to call up for this. The receptionist said “does the room need doing”. Not the answer you would expect as this should be part of the service. The hotel upgraded us as they were not busy at all. We had booked to stay in the Barn which is a building in the car park overlooking the car park. Had we been staying in the Barn we would not have been happy. I would not recommend anyone staying there. It is quite misleading from the website and even a member of staff did not talk highly of the Barn in the car park.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, quality
Cons: Breakfast menu

Pros: It’s got a great feel of ‘high quality’ about it . Food service rooms were all fabulous
Cons: N/a
1.0 Poor
Pros: It was a pleasure to leave.
Cons: What an absolute embarrassment of a hotel. Checked in to appalling customer service on the front desk. Could barely muster 2 words, let alone a sentence to welcome us. Had a meeting room booked and on arrival we are taken to a different meeting room to the one that had been reserved. We had also arranged to have sandwiches served in the meeting room, but when the food was delivered to the meeting room the bread was covered in mould. The meeting room was damp and smelly. We later attended a wedding at a different venue which was wonderful. On returning to the hotel we were completely ignored by the front of house staff and after ascending the first flight of stairs we were confronted with vomit strewn across the carpet and up the wall. Completely unavoidable whilst making our way to our bedrooms. We were horrified and immediately made the gentleman on the front desk aware of the situation, and he then chose to ignore it.. and us. At quarter past midnight we decided that we were going to leave as were were not happy to stay the night in such an atrocious place. The entire hotel smelt hideous, was outdated and to say that the customer service left a lot to be desired would be the understatement of the century. Do not stay here!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the room we stayed in, It was called 'Hampton'. Plenty of wall sockets, the TV I think was 50" and a decent one (Samsung) Bed was massive and the room was very spacious. Bathroom/Shower was big enough for 2 ;)
Cons: Facilities was only a restaurant and bar. Food is a little pricey but was good.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Dining facilities were excellent Bed was very comfortable General ambiance was great
Cons: Some decor was a little tired

Cons: I had a pleasant stay and there really isnt anything to dislike. I could only suggest better room doors as our key kept getting stuck.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Opposite the river Thames on a quiet residential street, car parked in hotel's car park which has CCTV. It has a bar with live entertainment on a Saturday evening, a very nice Italian restaurant and very good buffet breakfasts. Very good value for money, pleasant staff.
Cons: The bar lacked atmosphere on a Sunday evening but then there weren't many guests. Interesting that some local people drink there.

The Olde Bell - Maidenhead - Building
7
7.6 Good (1,394 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Olde Bell is a modern coaching inn, set in historic timber framed buildings providing eating, drinking, gatherings and lodgings. Located only 45 minutes from central London, in East Berkshire, with great access to Henley on Thames, Maidenhead. Probably the best known building in Hurley, The Olde Bell first opened its doors in 1135 Ad, as a guest house for visitors to the nearby Benedictine Priory. For hundreds of years, the ringing of the Sanctus Bell signaled to the monks that an important visitor had arrived in the village and was on his way to call at their monastic retreat beside the River Thames. The Sanctus Bell still hangs over the door of The Olde Bell, a sign of welcome and refreshment to travellers. The Olde Bell was an important staging point on the Oxford to London route, with the last recorded schedule in 1890. During World War Two, famous guests at The Olde Bell included Sir Winston Churchill, Dwight D Eisenhower & Colonel Elliot Roosevelt, son of the war-time President, who were all visiting Ladye Place mansion, next to the church, which was being used as a secret U.S intelligence base. Also, during War times, Arms production was dispersed from the Midlands, to escape enemy bombings, and the Two barns were turned into a small arms factory, producing bullets, with a labour force of Hurley ladies. The olde bell has had many owners during its long history, but despite its many changes of ownership, it still keeps to the traditions of st. benedict, that true hospitality be provided to travellers and strangers.

Cons: Wasn't told beforehand that there was an event on at the hotel so couldn't have food when we got there. 5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is fantastic for the 3 Michelin Star restaurants in the local area and the hotel had a taxi firm that seemed to understand that this type of visit was a special occasion.
Cons: Several of the staff didn't seem to have a great attitude, simple room service meals took over an hour to arrive and this was after a chaser phone call from us, when it arrived it was of poor quality and cold. The beds were exceptionally soft, sunken in parts and generally felt past their best. The room electrics were either fully on or fully off which meant we couldn't charge phones overnight when the lights were switched off. For the cost and the location would have expected a better all round service.
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly Reception staff. Good Location
Cons: Decor needs some TLC . Fraying carpets on stairs . Shower not looking properly clean .
5.0 Okay
Pros: The receptionist and cleaners was very polite and helpful
Cons: The spa is rather small and so is the 1 pool they have. It gets really busy and cramped, you feel very uncomfortable with leaving your pool lounger as people was moving towel to lay there when people was in the steam/sauna room. The steam room has no lighting and 3 chairs no menthol smell. The sauna was ok. The tea / water was not topped up and when asked the lady said she would get tea and water but 20mins later still nothing. We wasn't allowed a locker in the changing room as they said people not staying need them more. As you can't order a light lunch whilst in the spa area we walked to the resturant but was told we was not allowed in to eat at a table and had to eat around the bar area. The lady behind the front reception was lovely and so was the cleaners!. I would not come here for a SPA again. P.s you are not allowed to use the facility's if you are earlier then your check in time (3pm).
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff were helpful The pool was nice
Cons: There were no spa treatments available The restaurant was closed even though a booking was made well in advance--no communication of this. Expensive for what you get. Some of the features in the spa didn't work or weren't maintained.
7.0 Good
Pros: Bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good. Spa facilities seemed good although sidnt use all of them.
Cons: The room was nice if a little dated. Staff were friendly but my partner complained about his bar meal and was ignored. Bar meals were very over priced for the quality. Would stay again but definitely wouldn't eat here again and probably wouldn't bother with breakfast again. Also we were charged a room service charge on drinks I went to the bar for but my partner didnt notice when paying the bill. Nice hotel but I thought it would be nicer. A bit disappointed to be honest.
6.0 Good
Pros: When we arrived it was quick to check in, we went to our room and we had a shower and I was really looking forward to a bath so they changed this for us to a room with a beautiful bathroom.
Cons: The first room had a flickering light, the other room we changed to had a light that wasn’t working at all. There was also no mini bar which it said we would have when we booked and there was also a mark on the throw over the bed to which I can only assume is someone’s bodily fluid so that was thrown straight on the floor- no thank you! We did leave on the booking request that it was my birthday and no added touch was in place to make my birthday special. No card or gift which some places do or even a complimentary drink. We had dinner and breakfast included. Luckily we were not paying the charges for the food as it was already included but I felt the portion sizes were very small. I did also ask for a different sauce with my main and it came exactly the same as any other table next to us and I did not receive my choice of alternative sauce that was offered to me. We also had to go to the bar to order our drinks as it took too long to get someone’s attention. Whilst I was getting the drinks my partner asked if the waiter could do anything for my dessert as it was my birthday and was told they couldn’t do anything as they were not told, to which my partner made him aware that it was in fact in the booking requests and he still turned around and said there’s nothing he can do. Considering your restaurant is an AA Rosette I would have thought they could have wrote happy birthday on my dessert plate with some sauce if they did not have candles. It’s these added touches that make guests feel valued and welcome - which we did not in this circumstance. The last comment was that for three courses we were in the restaurant for over an hour and a half, we were the first ones in the restaurant for a long while and very surprised it took so long for all the dishes to come out. It also took ages for our mains to be cleared even though I saw two of your employees look over at the table a number of times.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: The hotel is very dated, it feels like it hasn't been updated since the 70's. Very expensive for what it is. I'm not sure how it's a 4 star hotel. Not sure I would reccomend it for others stay there.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room
Cons: The pedicure at the spa was absolutely dreadful. No cut, old nail varnish left on around the edges. Not professional in any way. The time was even cut short. It was £50 and they did take £10 off which £40 for the quality is terrible
4.0 Okay
Pros: Lovely room, lovely brekky. Amazing food from the chef at dinner.
Cons: Dreadful service in the restaurant. Totally understaffed. Manager was as useless as a turd in a swimming pool. Availability of wines on wine list - shocking. Waiter had the competency of Manuel from Fawlty Towers.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Food on this occasion was nice
Cons: Very dark smelled of damp. Changed rooms as bed really old and uncomfortable and they helped with that

Pros: Wow what a find . This place had everything we could wish for. We spent our wedding night here. I whent to check in earlier in the day. As we would be late arriving. We met the owner. What a lovely lady. And as soon as we pulled up outside the property,we were very impressed. We were shown our room . Which was really nice and spotlessly clean, lots of room. And felt really good. We had a room overlooking the back garden which was beautiful. We were offered drinks but unfortunately we didn’t have time for that. Later that night me and my new wife arrived after a fantastic day. We went to our room. Opened the door to find congratulations banners a big bunch of flowers prosseco and chocolates it was lovely. And just topped our day off nicely. Next morning after a lovely nights sleep was breakfast. A lovely warm welcome and a really lovely full English. Lots of fresh fruit you name it was there. All in all this hotel is brilliant and my wife and I will be returning. Even though we only live a 10 min drive from here. Highly recommend the sunny cottage . Best we have ever stayed in. Pros: The most relaxing stay I've ever had with my dogs. Watching the red kites while listening to the woodpeckers! Just pure bliss. Comfortable accommodation that's so cosy and warm. Can't wait to go back.
Cons: My stay wasn't long enough.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Very convenient for Maidenhead and surrounding area. Great value for an overnight stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was CLEAN!!! And cozy and the property was beautiful! In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, Caroline was very kind to let us stay at her apartment considering it was at the last minute.
Cons: WIFI could have been better but we had a tv for entertainment at night.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very clean and easy to find
Cons: Shared coffee facilities and communal area

7.5 Good
Pros: Nice place.
Cons: You could hear people in the other rooms though, and food could be better
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, tastefully decorated room, lovely bathroom, nice toiletries, beautiful gardens, great bar and lots of tables in the garden. Great breakfast with lots of variety and good coffee.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Booked 'blind' and did not realise this is a conference centre for the CIM. Very smart facilities, lovely gardens, very friendly staff. Bedroom was small but with all required and comfortable. Very quiet location. Enjoyed a good supper from the bar menu. Good buffet breakfast. Easy car parking.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, good breakfast, good car park, no real complaints.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The rooms are horrible and the bed was incrediibly hard and uncomfortable. I would never stay there again.
Cons: Bedroom. Tiny, noisy, very basic and the bed mattress needs to go in the bin.
The Black Boys Inn - Maidenhead - Bedroom
14
7.2 Good (253 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Situated on the outskirts of Henley-on-Thames overlooking the beautiful Chiltern Valley, with the River Thames just at the bottom of the lane, the Black Boys Inn is a stylish and relaxing bed and breakfast. With origins, in part, dating back to the 16th Century, the Inn is full of atmosphere and charm. Oak beams, nooks, crannies and a wood burning stove welcome guests and act as a reminder of the Inn's heritage, while the modern facilities and contemporary country feel provide a luxurious haven for guests.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The staff were lovely and friendly and helpful.
Cons: The room could of been cleaner, empty water bottle of previous guests, someone’s contact lense left on bed side table and bath was quite dirty, also chef was on holiday so no evening meals were available and the bar closed at 8pm on the Friday night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had our own entrance as the rooms are separate from the pub and open up to lovely countryside views. We also totally overslept checkout and the staff didn't mind a bit. Big bathroom with a bath, good shower, comfy bed, nicely decorated.
Cons: A couple of tiny things - the mugs we espresso sized - not great to brew a tea, there was no full length mirror which was only a problem as I was getting ready for a wedding in a saree, and the curtain didn't give much protection from the passing walkers.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The room is a good size and the bed comfortable enough.
Cons: The room and bathroom were both very dirty. We complained to the staff who asked us to accept a complimentary drink in the bar while they cleaned it. Maybe five minutes later they told us the bathroom had been cleaned but it was clear that all they’d done was mop the bathroom floor. My husband used one of the hand towels in the bathroom to wipe down the surfaces (window sills, bedside tables, pictures and dado rail etc). It was filthy when he’d finished. The rug in the bedroom is very worn and a potential trip hazard to an unsteady person. One window has no curtains so we were woken up by sunlight at the crack of dawn. The decor is ‘tired’ and shower in desperate need of regrouting to dispose of black mould. Struggling to understand the AA four star rating and have to assume it applies solely to the restaurant. We chose not to stay for breakfast. We booked this accommodation in order to attend an event nearby. Thankfully we were there only to sleep.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing. £300 and two days of our lives wasted . Probably have a case with trading standards!!
Cons: The whole place was filthy but especially the bathroom. Caked on soap residue, hair, old hair clips, old soap etc. The toilet looked like the inside of my grannies tea pot as it hadn't been cleaned for months (we do have photos) Couldn't complain to management as there were none present. No food available as there wasn't a chef! On the second night we were asked to leave the bar at 9pm as the barman wanted to go home!! Leaving the place deserted apart from the guests sat in their rooms. Advertised as a restaurant with room! Disgusting!!
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast
Cons: The room: cleanliness was poor, ripped sheets, stained pillows, filth under the bed and in the bathroom, toothbrush pot was very dirty, cobwebs and mould in the shower. Locked out of the building on our first night as we were given the incorrect keys and had to find a room outside to stay in without our belongings (which were inside the main building). To be fair, the proprietor did refund one night, but moving forward, there is an awful lot that needs improving, especially cleanliness.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were very friendly. Lovely pub and beer garden to enjoy.
Cons: Unfortunately the restaurant was closed only serving breakfast so we didn’t have an option for lunch/dinner on arrival.
4.2 Okay
Pros: We enjoyed the music being played in the bar through the day and the staff were friendly.
Cons: The bathroom had spiders and didn’t feel clean, it had been refurbed but not to a great standard. The room to the door led straight into the beer garden so didn’t feel very private.
7.5 Good
Pros: Fab breakfast and made to feel welcome and lovely location if you enjoy a stroll or more energetic walks.
Cons: No dislikes.

Thank you for your hospitality Mr &Mrs Mayfield
Cons: Nothing it is spot on
