Paid top dollar for an ok car without reverse camera and sensors and no LCD screen to connect to phone maps, didn’t think they made newer cars without these these days

I paid double charge on arrival on top of the Rwandan price shown on the list when I am booking. Extra charged have been asked for full casco which you pay theft and accident coverage. The rent was for 29 euro per day. Additional mentioned was 33 euro per day. Total unexpected and expensive service in the end. Probably I will not hire from sixt again and read extra carefully what are the terms and conditions.

The required deposits even for a single day rental are completely ridiculous, for that money I can simply buy a used car or motorcycle and have it for an entire year or more.

Nobody at the airport to collect me even though we had provided the flight details. First car was old, broken boot and stank of smoke. Multiple defects to the body work and seats ripped and holes with cigarette burns. Second car was marginally better but damaged and in a poor condition. Manager threatened to cancel my contract with them and was rude/not helpful. Eventually after 2 days we received a much better car but still with bodywork damage. Every car stank of cigarette smoke. Be careful they don’t accept all major credit cards. I will never ever use them again and a warning to fellow travellers to avoid them at all costs. It’s not worth the stress or hassle. They cannot be trusted.
