Smooth process. Car functioned acceptably. They tried to run a scam for me to pay for pre-existing damages. Asked for proof at time of pickup, then moved the goal posts twice before outright rejecting video as proof(?). Forcing me to go through escalation process and/or insurance.Reviewed 3 Jul 2026

Terrible. Avid totaqlly abiused the "or similar" clause for the car I reserved. I would not take the swubstitute. And the staff of the local franchise was VERY unhelpful.Reviewed 2 Jul 2026

The lady at the book in desk was full of attitude - complaining to a colleague about a negative review!! I’ve never experienced anything like this from a service based company - I won’t be renting from Avis in Atlanta again… The car was well used - scratched and stained on the upholstery - but it did the required journey without any problems. Drop off was the best part of the hire and went well.Reviewed 2 Jul 2026

The pickup with Avis at the airport in Vancouver BC (YVR) and the return at the airport in Portland OR (PDX) later the same day were very professional and without any concerns. The car was absolutely fine, a Hyundai Sonata which was a complimentary upgrade from a Toyota Corolla. The cost however for this one day rental was quite expensive, which I presume is a manifestation of renting in Canada and returning in the United States. But since it was less expensive than two airplane tickets (though not by much) it was the option we chose. Other than the cost, the rental was absolutely fine.Reviewed 28 Jun 2026

When I got to the airport, there was no one at the office. A taxi driver had to drive me to the office in town where they told me no cars were available. I’ve traveled all over the world and this has never happened to me. This is completely unacceptable for a major company like Avis - even if it is a local affiliate.Reviewed 28 Jun 2026
