In the middle of nowhere with gorgeous mountain views. Very quiet and peaceful. Very clean rooms with quality furniture and comfy beds. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very large property with meadows to walk and a fishing pond. If you're visiting downtown Bennington, this hotel is a bit out of the way as it's on the outskirts of town (3-5 miles maybe). But that could be a good thing too, if you really want to get away from it all lol. Air conditioner was old and very noisy.
I would not stay here again...room was dirty...we thought about sleeping in the car...reminded me of the bates motel
NE carpeting Not hot water in shower..NONE..and no working tv
The free breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant the night before was extremely accommodating for dinner when we didn't have a reservation. The restaurant staff and the food were excellent. The room was poorly decorated in 1950's decor with a very unpleasant musty odor. Only 5 tv channels, The heat did not work. The temperature never got above 60 degrees all night long. Not worth the price we paid.
Ant crawling across bed. No plug in bedroom near bed
The outdoor property. Good water pressure in the shower. Housekeeper talking on cellphone not acknowledging my presence. No work uniforms. Housekeeper looked high off drugs. No fitted sheets on the bed. Only 2 pillows and 2 bath towels. Place is very worn. Room smelled really bad.
The art in the room was much better than traditional hotel room artwork. The shower water pressure was terrific and we had plenty of hot water. The tv was tiny, the drain in the tub was broken and left on the soap holder in the shower, we had to plug the drain with a washcloth to fill the tub. The shower head is very low...I'm 5'8" and had to bend my knees to rinse my hair... The hotel staff seemed way more interested in eating and chatting out back than dealing with customers.
Size of room. Surprise fire alarm after going to bed.
Large room, good amenities provided, helpful staff, good location A little dated, but not a deterrent to staying there
Our room (Berkshire King) was fantastic. It was huge and very luxurious. The bathroom which included a jacuzzi tub and 2 vanity sinks was also very nice. We looked forward to the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies that were delivered to our room every night as part of the turndown service. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the iced tea and pastries in the lobby every afternoon. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Williamstown. Carpets(both in the room and the common areas) need to be cleaned.
The staff went out of their way to be accommodating and pleasant. I would have liked it if the desk was able to give restaurant suggestions.
everything was superb, as always. There is no other place I would consider staying in the area.
friendliness and adaptability of staff
Excellent Frendly Staff and Top Quality Hotel
It was central...close to downtown.
It was well located poor breakfast - no tea - no bread - hardly a continenetal breakfast. A noise all through the night of plumbing?
Mainly because pet-friendly, disappointed no pool, good access to everything we wanted to see, including family here.
Good position and price. The room was clean but terribly musty smell. The breakfast very poor.
Walking distance of city
Low ceiling room, musty smell, bathroom small and dirty. Continental breakfast served late in a small corner of the Reception. How can this motel be listed in AAA ?
We have stayed in many hotel/motels that we felt were much better for the same money
Convenient to Bennington town centre, fairly quiet, good value The heating system made my throat 'scratchy'
Local access The desk staff did not have my reservation, but honored it once I produced the printed confirmation from your web site.
Convenient for downtown. The complimentary continental breakfast was very poor. By the time we got there, only half an hour before the end of breakfast, there was only dried out bagels and nothing to go with them.
nothing! High rate relative to the standard.
Not one thing I hated everything about the place except the location nasty rooms and staYed one day and they kept 300 dollars of mine and didn't want to refund me anymore and I only stayed one night won't recomend this place to a homeless person unless its a storm out side. Hated every thing about it tell all to not stay there
Much less expensive then hotels in nearby Massachusetts
It was the first time that I have found a bed at a motel to actually be comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
The Laundry Room The breakfast area and the breakfast. The price at $142 was the most expensive that we have paid on our journey and the worse breakfast.
Location. They allowed pets. I think the 'Queen' bed was a 'double'. Sparse, older furnishing. Direct TV didn't have a lot of channels including major networks or local news.
Bathroom was clean. Shower worked well. Good location near town. Good value for the money. Relatively quiet. Wi-fi did not appear to work. Be sure to bring your own connectivity. Breakfast was not worth partaking in. Room had a musty smell.
Cleanliness, location, great breakfast (wonderful food choices, good company!), provided info about nearby places of interest. Quiet, relaxed ambiance . Shared bathroom facilities, distance from room to bathroom. (Neither of these were a problem but it might have been more of an issue had it been more crowded.)
The staff was amazingly accommodating! But when you book, make sure to request the NEW SIDE OF THE BUILDING. The old side is... Old. My fiancé and I wet first assigned to a room in the old side or the building. It just felt a little sad and tired. I called the front desk and the lovely clerk IMMEDIATELY switched our room to a new one which was great. Luckily we were there for a couple days that weren't too busy but if they can help you, they will. Seriously nice staff.
booked with your app at 10:40pm. Arrived 20 minutes later and no answer. If the staff is going to close, they need to not allow reservations through the app. We spent 40mins driving around trying to find somewhere else in the middle of the night.
I did not get to stay at the hotel due to mechanical problems on my car and had to get a ride . I tried to cancle on line but was unable to. I called and got the manager -_(_who was on a cell out of state) and said he could not help me that i had to go to price line. I,m a senior with limited funds and had to call my bank to stop payment on the card.I dont think I will use price line again after this experience even tho they had the lowest price.this was my grandaughters graduation and I was left up in the air, and when I did get a ride i stayed with my daughter at the best western which was not plesant and very tiring as they argue a lot so I had very little sleep so I was very tired the next day and did not enjoy my stay and had a charge of $25.00 to my bank I could not afford Sincery yours Sandra Dupuis ( age 70)
Nothing, DO NOT GO HERE. Someone tried to open our door in the middle of the night. Management was nowhere to be found. I knew it was just a budget motel but the place is beyond unsettling.
Location Unclean, unfriendly No coffee 0 amenities
nice location to everything, very easy to get to, staff was friendly, rooms clean not really, for a me the accommodations were fine, some people may have not liked the 'need to spruce things up a bit' appearance...the only negative I can say is that there needed to be a light over the bathroom sink..
Friendly staff, clean, functional room and close to downtown. The walk back up the hill was a bit of a cardio workout.
Great staff, good location. No.
Full bath tub lots of room to shower. Office closed, pick up your key taped to the door with your name on it. Three numbers to call, no one answers even in the middle of the day.
Good location, cheap. This place is a dump. The staff was rude, the office was a disaster, the rooms look and smell like they are from 1960.
that I did not stay there room was shabby unsecured smelly
Was where I needed to be Shower did not drain, manager non receptuve
Nothing- A god forsaken hotel that no one ever should step foot into. - cockroaches everywhere. - dirty linens with hair all over - smelly room that stinks like a 1000 year old place - mattress that sinks in like foam - dirty corridors with people smoking - not sure about bed bugs, only time will tell if we caught any
Location--easy to find and close to our venue Room was the smallest ever encountered in years of travel--maybe large enough for 1 person. Microwave location made it impossible to hang clothing. Took a long time to adjust water pressure and temperature in shower. Lying in bed it was obvious someone had begun painting the ceiling and not finished the job. Really!? And why would someone hang two copies of the same framed print in a room?
The price was right since I was traveling by myself. Old and tired, wireless didn't work.
Hotel staff was friendly and very flexible in offering us a room that was large enough to accomodate our small dog and large family. The room was a bit small, not much space to walk around in the room, but it is what it is.
It served its purpose for the 12 hours we needed it. The shower was surprisingly great. There was no dresser which didn't matter but was odd but there was a fridge, microwave and iron It was dated and not as clean as one would hope.
Perfect motel for the price. No frills, good clean spacious rooms with free wi-fi, in-room mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Small simple breakfast included which was good (I had the bagels, fresh fruit and coffee).
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Just like motels I remember as a kid. Nostalgic. Too expensive.
NICE CLEAN AND QUITE VERY FRENDLY STAFF. CLOSE TO ALL KINDS FO FOOD PLACES
The hotel was much as advertised. Very basic accommodation, no frills, but safe. Our room had a musty smell and my dresses hung in the closet still smelled odd a day after I got home. The standard of cleanliness was not what I had hoped. But the woman running the place was pleasant and efficient and the location was perfect for our needs. Next time would try another place; though, the smell and general dinginess could perhaps be avoided.
Beds and bathroom were clean but the floor (rug) was dirty. The toilet leaked all night. It was cool but the heat was inoperative.
Within 15 minutes of three art museums and a world-class theater festival The Breakfast room could have been open earlier.
Location, it was very convenient to everything we wanted to do. Plus it was very quiet.
Friendly staff, who did their best to assist with faulty A/C, which eventually worked well. Location and grounds were very nice, especially the patio area next to a babbling brook. Proximity to a good restaurant was a plus. Room seemed recently renovated-shower was great! Air conditioner wasn't on correct setting and room was hot initially.
Clean, decent rooms. Lots of room. Extremely nice family-owned hotel. The man at the front desk was an angel. While the facilities are a little defunct, you're paying an extremely low price for a clean, solid night's stay. Breakfast is a modest presentation of pastries and beverages- just a little something before you head out for the day. Altogether a really cute place to stay for cheap. The only complaint people can possibly have with this hotel is aesthetics. Sure, its a little outdated, and that stinks. But it is clean and cheap and friendly. I highly recommend it.
i liked everything about my stay, including the reasonable price, the central location and, of course, my room.
Walking distance to shops and resteraunts.Staff was pleasant and helpful. Smelled like moth balls and bathroom was tiny.
The location and the price for the area. The room was fine and had all the necessary stuff. Slightly old, could use some modernization especially more three prong plugs for charging phones etc. Staff handled our friend's problems with their room unprofessionally. So, staff could be more customer focused and friendly.
Location Rip-off, toilets didn't properly flush
Friendly staff, clean room, excellent rate and GREAT continental breakfast, even with hot chocolate The atmosphere on the premises
I don't think the place has ever been cleaned - grit coming up from the somewhat clogged tub drain, a slightly bluish stain in the sink from the soap never quite getting washed away. Also, the desk guy was weirdly insistent about getting our email address.
Tremendously accommodating staff. Staff took an hour of their own time just to help us when we had some car trouble and could not have been nicer about it. Great value and great people an easy walk to everything Williamstown has to offer
Location Noisy, room right on parking lot
Decent price, quiet, good location. I was charged twice at different rates with my name on another person's payment method, and now I'm trying to figure out how to get some of my money back for staying in only one room for one night. Online travelers be wary of the booking websites, try paying with cash or call hotels directly.
the room was good the heater kept the room at 76 so i had to put the air on
Location, price. Heat seemed to be on. Noise level high.
Staff was extremely friendly and ready to please. For the money, my room had a fridge, micro wave, coffee pot, ant safe for valuables. This seemed to be a lot for the price I paid, which for that area, seemed to be a more than reasonable $$$ value. Weather didn't permit pool use, but it was there for my use if I wanted it. They are making attempts to be green. Several notices throughout the room made suggestions to help them in that endevoir. This inn is also within walking distance to eateries etc.,and a short drive to Williams College. Very convenient! I did not find it the cleanest of places. It wasn't terrible, but I could see things that needed improvement. Furniture was in need of some fixing...nothing dangerous, but some more effort to the smaller details in cleaning up the room would be beneficial. With that said, this was my second visit to this inn and I would go again. The friendly staff trying to please their customers make it a PLUS!
Nice beds! Microwave and mini fridge! Bathtub didn't have a stopper that worked but everything else was great.
it is a quiet time of year and the setting is peaceful, which i prefer for a much needed restful environment
The prices of rooms are reasonably inexpensive. Staff is very friendly. Complementary breakfast was a nice added touch to our stay. We ran out of toiletries including toilet paper. One of our lamps had a broken bulb.
Cleanliness, outdoor ambiance, quiet. Had everything you need in a small space. Toilet seat loose.
I appreciated the friendly greeting from the evening host. He and his wife had attended the same excellent play at the Williamstown Theater Festival as I and remembered seeing me. I did not like the sheets or the coffee, that had been standing for too long.
