Huge light room with the garden view, parquet floor, antique furniture, roomy bathroom with all that is needed and birds singing outside :) Sonja, the hostess, is just wonderful - friendly, attentive and always lovely to chat about anything or assist. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old multi-storey house. Very spacious rooms. Immaculately clean. Delightful breakfast. Lovely owners. Easy walk in to old town and the city centre.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed, and friendly owner. Nice breakfast!
Cons: Maybe next time the owner should arrange some ways to assist storing luggages, if they accidentally cannot meet this demand. Otherwise additional 12CHF to store the luggage in the train station for only 6 hours is really out of expectation and inconvenient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gabriella and Mark were the epitome of hospitality. They met us at the door, helped carry our heavy bags up the stairs and made sure we were well fed for dinner. We had arrived late and very hungry and Gabriella even offered to drive me to the town center to pick up food for my family. The suite, in which we stayed, was incredibly comfortable and private for our two young daughters and for us. Breakfast was yummy too. Also, for families, there were plenty of toys for the kids and a great washing machine and dryer to clean clothes. Would definitely book again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the loveliest places I have stayed: An old villa-style house with three apartments. I stayed in the middle one which hosts two rooms (incl my suite). The private bathrooms on the corridor are well organised (curtain in the corridor). Shared sitting room and balcony. Very professional service, welcome fruit & choclate, restaurant advice etc.
Cons: The location is perfect in the posh museum and embassy neigbourhood but most other things are a bit difficult to reach from there. I would have wanted more time there to enjoy the place :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the room was perfect. It was clean and cosy. The host was very kind and nice. Kitchen was very perfect. The loction is away from bear park 10~15 min by walk. Everything was nice.
Cons: It's old bulding so you have to walk carefully. The floor gives creaking sound as I walked. Plus I don't know how to open the front door still :(
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, spacious, impeccably clean. Welcoming, friendly, helpful hosts. The location is perfect, on a quiet street, 10-15min walk from old Bern. Breakfast was delicious and served in a sunny dining room overlooking the green backyard. Heartily recommend.
7.1 Good
Pros: Clean, cosy, coffee machine, complimentary drink, complimentary fruit platter
Cons: Washing machine not inclusive - need to pay extra for use
9.6 Excellent
Cons: I wish I had known (the first night) about the curtain providing privacy for access to the exterior bathroom at night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were given tram passes which were invaluable. We took the tram all over town and it was very convenient. Our host sat down with us and gave us ideas for driving to see the alps! Had a fantastic time ! Thank you!
9.6 Excellent

9.2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is an absolute gem in Bern. Although my stay was short, but I really enjoyed it thoroughly. The staff were very welcoming and courteous. Especially Jacob (from Concierge), he helped me plan my adventure in Bern. The food is amazing, the location is nothing less than perfect. (few steps away from the train station) I would have loved to try the spa, but didn't get a chance, probably in my next visit.
Cons: There were few instances where room service orders were delivered not to my expectation, but nothing major though. Also, on some mornings, I woke up way before the alarm due to loud noises from house keeping cleaning the room next to mine (slamming doors, vacuuming ...etc)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: They did everything to make it a wonderful experience. The concierge even came to our room to help with my WiFi.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous room, quiet with possibly best shower ever. Reception staff lovely and helpful. Breakfast , good variety. Great location opposite train station
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location near station. Room facilities. Gym and spa area.
Cons: Room quite small and very noisy. A rowing machine in the gym would be good and a small complementary chocolate treat at bed time, it being Switzerland
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel with great location and staff. Everything was special and they upgraded our room without asking for it
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a larger suite.

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The general attitude of the personnel was so negative that we had difficult to find anything that we liked. We had hoped that at least the breakfast would be worthwhile, unfortunately even there we noticed the low quality of the food.
Cons: May be the management could be a little more friendly, or et least show some commercial generosity… We had to decide, because of an emergency at home, to check out after one day, but had reserved (and payed) for 2 days. We informed the hotel early in the morning of our sudden departure hoping that this timely warning would incite them to refund the second night or to give a reduction on the totality of the steep hotel- or restaurant bill. The only "gesture" they would do was offer us a voucher for future use, although we had made it clear that we would never return to that hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: -
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff, great place to stay, loved the rose garden. Time didn't allow us to use the wellness offerings - would have liked to try it out. Next time.
Cons: Somekind of air conditioning would have been great as it was really hot in the room and there was no breeze that would have cooled the room down.
6.7 Good
Pros: The setting, the staff and breakfast, and certainly the wild meadows for the wildlife
Cons: The price, slightly high for what it was in the annexe, the food choice was terrible and certainly over priced There are no Tea or coffee facilities in the rooms, a must for any travellers
6.3 Good
Pros: The beds were comfortable. The bath products were also nice. I appreciate the water and apples in the room. Shower had great water pressure. The breakfast is great and so is the breakfast staff. The lady in the kitchen doesn’t speak English but she is truly kind and caring of everyone there. I appreciate her.
Cons: It was HOT. For such a fancy hotel, and the price you pay, they didn’t have a fan or anything. We complained of the heat but was told that “I’ll ask my manager if we have anything.” Obviously, from the reviews I’ve seen the have offered it to someone before but I guess we weren’t worthy of a fan or cooler. We were staying for almost a week so on the weekend, there was noise and partying way past midnight. They should either lower their price or call their customers to inform them that there will be a party or wedding so there will be noise. I like to know beforehand if my sleep is going to be ruined. I asked for more water one day and I was given a bill of $9 and told them I don’t want it. They provide water to the wellness area for free but as a paying guest, I can’t have more water? Later on they started giving me a glass full of water for free. Overall, I was very annoyed my entire stay here. It was not worth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location, good breakfast and dinner. Superb yard with r lot of relaxing possibilities. The rooms are big, clean and the staff was ok.
4.6 Okay
Pros: garden view friendly staff good breakfast
Cons: Not enough positive points to compensate the too long distance from Bern city center Small size of the bedroom Small size of the bathroom Small size of the bed No office desk just a small table I checkin late so the friendly doorman at the lobby has been unable to change my room when i requested it. Pity Car park a little bit too far away. no concrete way between carpark and lobby. not really easy with suitcases.
5.8 Okay
Cons: The Parking it is so far and you can not reach the reception, they charge the 46 minutes late checkout been the checkout at 11:00.

Pros: All

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted and given helpful information during our check in at the hotel. The location was off the main streets so it was quiet at night. Had no problem sleeping. The hotel is located within walking distance to the old town area of Bern. Also there was a trolley stop very close to the hotel which gave you access to all areas of Bern. Breakfast was good and the lady in charge of the breakfast service was very helpful and friendly.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very kind, talkative service at reception, great service. Fine cousine in breakfast kitchen. Great location, easy access (parking reserved). Great service with local traffic service ticket. Decent location to get to sightseeings by tram and walk.
Cons: -
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness of the facilities and "can do" "value add" attitude of the staff both before and during our stay. The location is so close to a very convenient tram stop and with the encouragement of free tram/bus travel in city for hotel guests was a real bonus.
Cons: The only negative , if one could call it that, is the typical(alot of European hotels have the same problem) of small elevators and need to change elevators at different levels. It was not a problem for us but might be for some.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The clean and comfortable Hotel Jardin is all about location, location, location. It is a 10-minute ride by #9 tram to the Altstadt (which is where all the attractions are), and there are two stops within an easy 10-minute walk from the hotel itself. It couldn’t have been easier, especially with the great directions given by the manager (plus a free pass from him for 24 hours!). What’s not to love about that? The nice continental breakfast (the usual meats, cheeses, breads, and cereals) was definitely a plus as well.
Cons: I’m afraid it’s location, location, location. Without a GPS, I’m pretty sure I would never have found the place. Even with the GPS, it was a bit of a challenge. The limited parking is a minus as well.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location. Very friendly and helpful owner. Easy tram trip to city centre.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: + Great location + Quite and safe area + Close to city center + Friendly staff + Free parking + Received free travel pass

Cons: there was no A/C in the bedroom

Pros: Great location, in the middle of everything!
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the restaurant and as we did a pre check-in we received a complimentary drink. Bed was very comfortable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The front desk staff were very helpful and worked quickly to allow us to check-in early. The hotel was quiet and clean. However for our second night stay the children in the next room were noisy and banging around until they finally went to sleep. The location was great to walk from the train station and close for local transit and walking around the city. We decided not to do the breakfast at the hotel as there were several places nearby where we could pick up something quick before heading out for our day of touring.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Good atmosphere in hotel and bar area. Good room (double for single use) with unusual decor. Generally functioned well. Excellent breakfast. Excellent location.
Cons: Poor chairs in room, although staff were helpful and provided a better chair than that in room. Price and general facilities let down by absence of good seating and by poor lighting at the table/desk. I stayed three nights and the room was not made up or cleaned during that period. From my personal point of view this was not a big issue, but at the price it is not acceptable.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Great location and excellent staff
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay at the Bristol. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I liked that the toilet was completely separate from the shower, with each room having its own sink. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed drinks and snacks at the bar. The location was great and we were able to walk everywhere.

7.5 Good
Pros: Hotel Alpenblick is a friendly, comfortable, fun place to stay. The staff were particularly fantastic, friendly and helpful. It’s a little bit outside of the center of town, but with the free public transportation pass that was a benefit for me rather than a downside.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, relaxed and pleasant stay.
Cons: If I were being really fussy, I’d the beds were TOO soft but that didn’t spoil the stay.

Cons: It doesn't really have much of a hostel feel, at least in the wintertime if you are also looking for a social component.

6.3 Good
Pros: It was a little different with a jazz theme.
Cons: I did specifically ask for a quite room when booking. What we were given was on the front road side and it was very noisey. We did use ear plugs however this was of little help and we had too nights of very little sleep. It’s not good enough you stay in a hotel to sleep and that’s what you pay for.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and very comfortable rooms and great location on a hill overlooking Bern. Nice garden restaurant with a view of the mountains. Parking in front of the hotel. Very helpful and competent staff.
Cons: 18 Swiss francs for a grilled sausage (Bratwurst) without anything on the side is a bit too much even for Switzerland. Same for a small piece of grilled chicken breast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s good hotel, the staff is very friendly, it’s good stay, and very close to Bern downtown
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good and comfortable restaurant. You could breathe some kind of understated luxary. Good jazz events from time to time.
Cons: Unfortunately no jazz event available at time of stay.

Cons: Food and breakfast not good value for money

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is great and the restaurant is AMAZING. Staff is super-helpful and sweet.
Cons: The junior suit was smaller than expected
9.2 Excellent
Pros: good variety for breakfast. Fantastic view on a nice day.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place to stay but recommend to crosscheck the bill by checkout
Cons: I have found on the bill later, that my breakfest was overpriced with a note "eat a lot" and that makes me realy disappointed 2 slices of bread, butter and cheese on it, one smaller joghurt, glass of juice and tea I found it very rude for staff to watch me eating and definitely as a robbery to tell "eat a lot" afterwards.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, friendly staff and BEAUTIFUL rooms

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient location and nice apartment.Close to the supermarket.
Cons: Pillows were too big for me
6.3 Good
Pros: Clean apartment with good size. There is a supermarket close to the apartment and parking is for free
Cons: The location os 30 min by tram 6 from the city center. We stayed in the ground floor and from the room you can see and hear the cars in the street quite close. I would apreciate a bit more privacy. We had to leave the curtains closed whole time. For that price, I expected something better. Even considering swiss prices, I think there are better options.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was super clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed having a balcony. The kitchen had sufficient cloths for cleaning up.
Cons: Although billed as a "holiday apartment" some things that one expects in that type of place were lacking: shampoo (or even shower gel) & bar soap in particular. The listing indicated that there is a laundry facility on the premises, but in fact this is not to be used by "holiday apartment" guests. Staff contact is extremely limited and non-existent on weekends. You are really on your own.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: They ve got everything- kitchen, oven, fridge. The supermarket is in the same building. Everything is modern, well organised. There is a restaurant in the first floor. Quiet, clean, well organised place.
Cons: Location. It’s a bit far away from City Centre.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean apartment, close to supermarket and bern
Cons: This apartment is part of a senior residence. It was not mentioned in the description, a little misleading
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The flat was lovely, very comfortable and in a brilliant location
Cons: We were quite upset when we arrived as the flat is part of an old people’s complex! This was not explained on booking .com and at first we felt very disappointed and worried ! It was however lovely but it did spoil the start
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and new
Cons: TV should be a bit bigger and in the sleep room also
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Excellent Location to the city. Bus stop in front of Hotel. Good choices at the buffet Breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Facilities and location are very good.
Cons: I was offered a corner room with a price difference but was given a standard room in the first floor looking to the side street.
6.8 Good
Cons: Great location but the rooms were too small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I definitely recommend the hotel. We got a free upgrade to their best suite in the penthouse area, we had an amazing experience with breathtaking views from the panoramic balcony. The staff is super friendly and always kind. The suite is extremely comfortable with a living room area, big bathroom and bedroom. Lots of closet space and access to the lounge with free drinks and snacks. It definitely made our experience in Bern more unique and excellent!
Cons: Everything was excellent!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location with short walk over bridge to Old Bern. Room very good size but we picked the larger double room. Great rooftop bar.
Cons: Our room was on the inside so had no windows. Didn’t concern us too much as we weren’t there to spend time in room but be aware there is a choice of internal and external rooms if you like natural light. Everything else was great
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Parking is expensive .
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was modern looking, and the room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The location was within walking distance to the city center or a quick bus ride. The staff was accommodating when it was late and I realized I hadn't booked my second night.
Cons: It would have been nice if the hotel had honored the first night's price when I had neglected to book my second night. I paid a much higher price. Sounds like some rooms had a better view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the Hotel Allegro while attending a conference at Bern University. On the first night of our stay there was a problem in the room with lighting/electricity. During the course of half an hour two of the staff came to the room and fixed the issue. Next day while we were at the conference an electrician had been in our room and made adaptations. We were handsomely compensated for the problem. The Allegro is a very modern design hotel that I chose also for its proximity to the old town. We stayed in an economy room and found it faultless in every aspect (after the lighting issue was fixed). The bed was soft and extremely comfortable. On two occasions we came back during the day for siesta, so this was perfect. The bathroom also had a bath tub which we appreciated. I saw some comments by previous guests who had not liked the economy rooms. We found no fault with our room 343. Lack of natural light was not a problem as we were at the conference during the day and at night lights went off! Breakfast was delicious, there was a wide variety of dishes to chose from. A variety of egg dishes were cooked on order. Coffee (Americano) was - mmmmm - in the morning. They even had a large honey comb by the marmalade stand, something I've not seen in other hotels of a similar level. Delicious! As we attended functions and events at the conference in the evening we did not try any of the restaurants. At the front of the Allegro there is a lovely pool full of beautiful Koi fish - a serene Zen touch. The tram line no. 9 right outside the hotel was perfect to get about town. I have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel Allegro to anyone coming to Bern!
Cons: Nothing to dislike -
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super convenient location with Tram nr. 9 stop right outside the door, with free public transport tickets provided by reception. Underground parking very convenient. Friendly staff, no wait at reception, multilingual of course and accommodating with any request we had. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the room was good. The bar and tea garden are relaxing and beautiful to spend some time.
Cons: Our only mildly negative comment is regarding the bathroom, which had a sliding glass door (not the most private) and the shower was not the most inviting.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Is in a very convenient position in bern. Good restaurants.
Cons: Bathtubes are very dangerous, even for young people. Bathrooms need to be changed into showers. Very expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Breakfast, services, restaurant and gardens

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly.
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast is OK, but the scrambled eggs were clumpy and tasteless, seem to be made from egg powder. The loaf of bread was crispy on the outside, but frozen in the center, so people had to toast (or throw away) the slices. Internet was OK, but unsecured.
Cons: Parking is a problem in that part of the city, and understanding the system of "blue" sector street parking is not easy for the arriving guest. The hotel should provide a sheet of paper with explanation and a map of the blue parking sites in the neighborhood.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - The location was next to the main train station, which was quiet convenient. - Very nice breakfast - Friendly and helpful staff - Loved free ticket provided by the hotel for all public transport inside of Bern - They wished me happy birthday, which was a very nice surprise, very attentive staff - Spacious room
Cons: - Pricing was too high - For 2 people living we were still receiving a set of shampoo and conditioner for only 1 person :(
9.6 Excellent
Cons: It gets a little hot in the room as it was located on the top floor.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: close to down town clean
Cons: price very high i believe because the booking.com
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, cozy and comfortable ;) It was already my 4th stay there - always exactly what I need.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The nice welcome received when we arrived. All the info provided at the check-in about the parking, the bus to go to the city center, the help received in keeping in the fridge some food remained after our previous stays in apart hotels. Everything from the first until the last moment made our stay in Bern a lovely place to be.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect. Room and bathroom were clean.
Cons: A little expensive.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very nice and helpful, location was perfect and as a bonus the gave us free public transport card
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, very friendly staff
Cons: Lack of air conditioning was rough during a heat wave, but they at least had fans
4.2 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was yummy
Cons: They gave us the highest room and also the hottest. We had 3 fans and the room was so hot, we couldn’t sleep. The mattresses were super uncomfortable, they were too hard. They should invest in new mattresses.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is very beautiful and very well decorated. The man on charge was really gentle. They left in our room delicious chocolate a rose and funny teddy bear. In common area you have cold water with lemon. The kitchen was very nice. The shared bathroom was clean and the shower big. They give you all the amenities. The garden is really nice and you have chairs and tables for eat outside. The garden is well cared with nice plants and trees. I never been in a really such amazing acomodation.
Cons: The coffe machine in our room was broken but the staff makes the coffe for us, so there is no problem
6.7 Good
Cons: the overview states that were laundry facilities available. There are not! Room was hot, with no AC. The overview said there was a king villa that has a private bathroom. My confirmation said I had a King Villa, but the bathroom was shared. The staff at checkin was very helpful and pleasant. Overall the stay was alright but less than expected
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and modern place in a quiet area close to downtown, easy to find location with public transportation. Had coffee/ tea in the room, and candy. Also water. The outdoor space was convenient and pleasant.
Cons: It was very hot when we stayed there, without AC.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: The coffee machine in our room wasn t working.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms, the ambience and the coziness of the place. It was very well maintained and the hostess was very sweet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The management was very friendly and accommodating in every way. I enjoyed my stay there (for about three weeks). I would happily stay there again.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff was very nice. They let us even a phone in the door to call them for checkin instructions. This was particularly very useful because the mobile calls outside EU are not cheap. Location is great, just a few tram stations from the city centre. Transport tickets are also included in the price which is a great thing.
Cons: Very but very expensive. We paid 280 eur for 1 night 4 people. The appartment is perfect for 2 people. For 4 is very unpleasant. the second bed and second "room" is so narrow and small, no privacy for the one who is in bathroom because a semitransparent glass door is the only separation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location ia great, a short walk to ostring tram station. Going to the clock tower was a breeze tram ride. Surrounding was great, lots of gardens and quiet residential area. The unit itself was amazing, we stayed at the 3 bedroom unit in buristrasse and have no regret at all
Cons: None. Though the building is a bit old in look, but the inside was superb

The service in the restaurant is great and the ambiance is that of an old world hotel.

Pros: Room was comfortable and a great size for a family of three. The hotel is in a perfect position to explore Bern. Breakfast was also good. Overall a good hotel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: location
7.7 Good
Pros: Our room had a balcony, had on-site washer and dryer, breakfast was good and the breakfast staff friendly.
Cons: No air conditioning so we left the window open at night and we awakened by street construction/trash collection noise early in the morning. The laundry on site is great but is only one person at a time and if someone leaves their stuff then no one can use the washer/dryer so you have to wait around.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: + Easy to find a parking space + Nice breakfast + Relatively large room (in Switzerland) + Good location, in the heart of the city + Free public transportation ticket
Cons: - Have to go through stairs to access the other building

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice Hotel. Bern is an amazing city, and this hotel is located where everything is happening! We arrived at Saturday evening and it was party time everywhere! Rooms and bathrooms are very small, but very quiet. They left a blanket and a water bowl for my dog. :) Breakfast is ok. You can make your own pancakes!
Cons: They don't tag your luggage when you leave it in the hotel. Kind of dangerous (Maybe not in Switzerland ?) Parking is very expensive!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was a nice clean hotel. With air conditioning And a nice breakfast..
Cons: Asked for a quiet room not on street ..which they happily gave me but had to lug suitcases thru restaurant. And up stairs before elevator to 3rd floor.... also tv froze. Called front desk ...initially was told I had to go to reception to get batteries for remote. After further discussion they came to room to check it out ..was not batteries.

Cons: Difficult to find hotel because of road closures on Swiss National day but stress that this was only on one day.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This lovely little hotel in the heart of Old Town was a perfect location. Our stay was brief but the staff were VERY friendly, the rooms were extremely clean and comfortable, in spite of a small bathroom, and the breakfast was very nice. All in all, a perfect spot for us.
Cons: Pod-style bathrooms were small but functional and very clean. Nothing that would change our decision to stay at this charming hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is very convenient, staff was friendly, breakfast was very good. Facilities clean. I recommend!
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff by the name of Michael was very very helpful to locate the berth of out cruising vessel and took great pains to find out the time tables of bus shuttle for us to return the rented car and find our way back to the berth. Thank you.

Metropole Easy City Hotel - Bern - Building

7.4 Good (1,899 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Metropole Easy City Hotel, you'll be centrally located in Bern, within a 5-minute walk of Bern Art Museum (Kunstmuseum) and Clock Tower (Zeitglockenturm). Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
7.9 Good
Pros: Reception was very friendly and helpful! We arrived a couple of hours before check-in, and they had a section in the first floor with lockers and space where we could store our suitcases securely (padlocks provided). This same area had free-flowing coffee and water too, which we were happy with. Location was extremely ideal for this hotel! You are definitely paying for the location more than the rooms/amenities, so if you're looking for a central location in Bern and aren't fussy with your room/s (given that you'll spend most of your time out and about), this is the perfect place for you.
Cons: Hotel is quite outdated and probably needs more upkeep. Other than that, staff and services were great.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: I liked that it was in the city Centre.
Cons: This hotel is NOT 3.5 stars!!! If you look at a bunch of websites, they have a 3 star rating. When you get to the hotel, they tell you it’s a 2 star. We had to pay for our OWN SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER. Thought i should mention this since no one else did!!! They won’t provide you with that because “it’s a 2 star hotel” aside from that, we arrived on Saturday and couldn’t get any rest because of how LOUD the city Centre was. There was a dance party outside till midnight and I called reception to ask about it, they said “sorry we don’t know when it’ll stop. This happens sometimes” On Sundays, everything is closed. We couldn’t find a place to eat, my grandmother had pneumonia and she was really weak to travel. We walked across their sister hotel and asked if we could pay for breakfast. She said, oh “our breakfast is closed on Sunday’s” when my mom told her “she saw guests on the 2nd floor eating” that’s when the receptionist was like “ oh ok umm let me ask,” she comes back shortly later saying “ they’re full and I should walk to the train station for food”
7.5 Good
Pros: The room is spacious and the hotel is situated in the very heart of the old city center. Everything can easily be reached on foot!
Cons: Nightlife outside is incredibly noisy, and the room isn't very sound-proof. Bring some earplugs for extra comfort!
9.2 Excellent
Cons: There could be a mini fridge.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: it is basically in the center of the town. enough space in the room. Staff is pretty nice with guests. Check-in is even earlier then expected. Great view to the main square.
Cons: there is no freeze in the room. It is not so clean. Bathroom is old. Value for the money is not equal. it worth much less but it is Switzerland everything is expensive.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is great
Cons: Not suitable for family
7.5 Good
Pros: They brought us a fan for our room
Cons: No air conditioning, small shower, too noisy to leave windows open at night
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in excellent location, in the Old Town of Bern, yet it is not very loud at night. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel provides a free pass to travel with public transportation.
Cons: The room could use some more facilities like electric kettles or mini-fridges... But definitely the next investment should be toilet flushes, because what is there now is rather archaic and not always doing their "job".
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel is right on the Barenplatz, so it is noisy as would be expected' but it is not as bad as many of the reviews would have us believe. When I read the reviews I considered cancelling my reservation but I am glad that I did not.
Cons: No breakfast facilities.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is very good. It’s in the heart of Bern, you can make everything by walking. A lot of options for restaurants, markets, etc. They provide a cot for my baby.
Cons: Noisy because of the location. Late at night many people in the streets. No fridge in the room.
