The owners were very helpful, the breakfasts were amazing I liked everything
The situation in the heart of Snowdonia was excellent. The breakfasts were excellent, well organised and friendly. An excellent experience
Breakfast was good.
Excellant b & b beautiful accomodation good location everything you could wish for.
We were very well looked after during our stay. Would certainly return and recommend to others. No
The views The half hour window for breakfast
Excellent breakfast and friendliness of staff. Beautiful views from breakfast room None
This is an ideal 'stoppoing off' accomodation. central for all North Wales. The owners are really friendly and do everything they can for you - even prepare packed lunches. The room was spacious with all basic facilities you need. We would readily go back there next time we stay in Wales.
the bedroom was spotless, the bed linen was the softest we have ever felt and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was an absolute treat! The atmosphere felt welcoming and homely. At the same time because the family lived in a separate area the accomodation felt more like a small hotel as guests were free to come and go as we pleased.
Fantastic views over Snowdonia from our room. Excellent base for exploring North Wales. Ten minute walk into Betws Y Coed so able to leave car behind in the evening. Excellent breakfast and the owners were really friendly and helpfull. Recommended. Nothing all excellent.
Friendly welcome, attentive and helpful staff; excdellent service at reception, bars and meals. Excellent quality tasty and hot food. Beautiful location and well kept grounds. Nothing!
Good food, wecloming staff, good location. Very cold dining room at all times. Shame because it took focus away from food. Needs double glazing, which will halve fuel bills and the amount of jumpers! One lady wore her coat at breakfast!!! Large bathroom, which was nice but unusually small bath. Should have been a larger corner bath with room for glasses of bubbles to make good use of the room and to create atmosphere.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant food excellent, both for dininng & breakfast. Restaurant service slow at busy times.
the staff were very helpful and friendly the television reception failed sometimes
The welcome was friendly, the food excellent, situation next to river excellent, the lounges relaxing and friendly and the service was very good. The room was small although adequate for our one night stay.Unfortunately there was no extraction from the bathroom for steam to escape and the consequence was that the fire alarm for the whole hotel was activated causing distress and embarrassment .I left the suggestion with the hotel manager that they install extraction fans to the bathrooms.
really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. staff were friendly and helpful. food was first class. i would recomend this hotel to anyone. just a shame about the weather
Very good location, great staff, enjoyable food
The location is magnificent , staff warm and friendly and the food wonderful . The water wasn't hot enough for me as I like hot baths and need hot water for a wet shave and one morning there was only luke warm water coming out of the hot taps , so I had to ask for the water to be heated .
peace and quite
The Hotel is situated next to a river and the view is wonderful. The staff could not have been more helpful or polite. The room was beautiful and very well set out.
The whole experience was fun and very relaxing.
The location was excellent, the area is very pretty. The hotel was very easy to find on the main A5 trunk road. Extensive free car parking was available at all times with a free parking permit given to park in the adjacent pay and display car park. We did not like the fact that contractors had access to our room whilst we were out and about. The wooden decking steps up to our room (no 23) were very slippy when wet. The internet the hotel claims to have was not apparent in any part of the hotel that we could find. The manager was not available when we tried to complain nor did he make himself available when we were told he would be. My advice would be to steer clear of this hotel if you want any type of facility, it is essentially a youth hostelry with a few large rooms added on.
location - not too far away from the main towns and attractions. Food was not very nice. Room was never cleaned properly, especially the floor. Hotel needs some refurbishment - a bit tired! Temperature in room was either too cold (especially bathroom) or blazing hot!
The room was quiet and fairly cosy. Hot water and warm the food, they need a better chef.
It's location to Snowdonia and Bettes-y-coid. The food was also very good. We found the humming noise from the electrical closet annoying at night when the hotel was quiet.
The staff were friendly and approachable. Room was well presented and warm, and en-suite was clean and tidy. Location was superb.
the way that we could travel at our ease
location. food (especially Breakfast) not so good. Main meals adequate, but not wonderful. Staff not well trained, failed to clear tables, rooms a little run down, in need of decorating. dust on surfaces.
The general friendliness of the staff and their willingness together with the spaciousness of the hotel. There were no chairs in the bedrooms.....I do not want to watch the Television from the bed
The hotel is very convenient for both Snowdon and Portmeirion
Ver helpful staff, good location, very clean and comfortable, lovely decor. Good home made food.
Convenient for local attractions, and walks. Positioned well for public transport both busses and trains and ample parking room for own transport. Comfortable clean accomodation with friendly staff. Good size on suite bedrooms. Excellent food served in a clean well set out dining room from a large varied menu. Able to relax with friends in the evening in the well appointed bar area. Nothing
the food is amazing, we had dinner and a breakfast and both were outstanding!
Great location, great food and very good attention to detail. Lovely log fire and welcome after a long motorbike ride up through Wales. Very nice comfortable bedrooms with half tester bed and well appointed. Friendly staff and fab welsh breakfast !!!! Disappointed with bathroom facilities with only small shower room and wash hand basin being in main bedroom. Very dated too!!! Bathroom down the hallway..... not attractive at all.
very nice friendly hotel in a relaxing environment , ideally situated ,highly reccomended for any age group .
Nothing was too much trouble, very friendly and will definitely be using the hotel again
Breakfast was good and the staff were very helpful. Would go again especially following the current dining room refurbishment. The four poster room we originally chose was in poor condition and not the romantic room we had thought it would be. We moved to a smaller, cheaper room which has been refurbished, without any fuss.
oner very welcoming, bedroom very well appointed
Friendly staff were always available, food was good, hotel looks out over fields and mountains and is in a good location to enjoy the Snowdonia National Park.
Friendly owners & staff, plentiful food at good prices and a comfortable room. We were upgraded into a four poster room with champagne, robes etc, very roomy and well furnished with views of the fileds & hills. The bathroom was a little dated but clean and well tended. We did suffer from road noise as we faced the front of the hotel and was not as warm as some hotels we have stayed in. But none of this would detract from visiting again.
Character Hotel, top quality restaurant, helpful staff/owners
Very nice hotel; good, friendly staff, but the best part is the food - amazingly good. Will certainly be staying again.
Lots of old world charm, excellent menu and food, comfortable rooms. Handle on shower control missing, guest in adjoining opened my room with her key!!.. Very poor standard of room security!
Nice friendly hotel. None
Quaint and convenient to town and castle Hard Bed
The welcome we received, the old world charm, and the food was off the very best! Car park on the small side
Lots of character. Excellent food and service
wonderful food, hotel full of charm and history.Loved it ! Parking could be difficult but not a real major issue for us
I stayed at the ty gwyn a few years ago, but this time I notice a real improvement. The room I stayed was lovely with a new en suite bathroom.I had dinner at the restaurant, the meal was very tasty, well presented, attention to details, and the service was excellent.I will recommend this place to ant personn and advice people to book a table at the restaurant as it does get very busy. Booking at the restaurant is essential .
The large spar bath and the size of the room. The noise from the main road.
Average room but the bathroom recently refitted. A tired and worn appearance throughout the building. The staff friendly and helpful. Obvious the owners were cutting corners and trying to maximise profit. The breakfast had 1 rasher, 1 sausage and a tiny pot of beans AND it was not included with the room;the cost was 7.95 per person. Ridiculous price. This hotel has tourist trap written all over it. Find yourself a B&B. Better value & better breakfast!
It was clean and very friendly Nothing
The breakfast was excellent. The single bed in a twin room was so hard I couldn't sleep on it. Would only be suitable for a small child accompanied with parents. The bathroom could do with a thorough spring clean.
Very friendly hosts
It was friendly and efficient. There was a genuine effort to help and make you welcome. The only very minor complaint I had was sorted swiftly. Although I was on my own, there was a real effort to make you part of the hotel by engaging in conversation etc.
The committment of the owner/manager to make us welcome and to attend to our every need. The owner even offered to drive us to the train station after our stay because it was raining slightly.
Location, interesting building Bed too small, old bath - looked Grubby
Everyone was so friendly and helpful, by the time we left we felt as if we were leaving a friends house! The rooms were warm and welcoming, and although modern and comfortable still managed to retain the olde worldy charm to suit the hotel. As it is an old building the stairs are somewhat steep..can't be helped and not a major hinderance..but a small warning perhaps for the less able or older guests..but at least it helped work up our appetite for the superb breakfast!
Compared to a Scottish hotel we stayed at the breakfasts and Bar meals were first class. We found the staff and owners were very helpfull, freindly and well mannered. It was nice to sit out near to the historic bridge and River Conway also the view from the room has very good views. The room was very good, extras close to hand En suite bathroom. Beds were that comfortable I wanted to take it home Only that there is know lift for people with Disabilities
stunning views from our room, the room was really excellent (four poster) could only have orange juice with breakfast, I asked for grapefruit, but was told not available as the bar was closed. You could not have cereal with juce unless you paid extra.
I thought that the staff were lovely and were always asking if we were ok and if we needed anything. The food was really good, it came quickly and was nice and hot. No compliants had a really nice stay.
We had a very nice stay. The location is excellent. Host were fantastic. Lady u=in the house was very good with kids.
Fantastic b&b. Owners super. Made to feel very welcome. Accommodation and Food excellent. Will use again and strongly recommend to others. One of the best we have used. Everthing was perfect.
We loved the isolated location. Owners very friendly and helpful, Very good breakfast (especially the locally produced sausages). Room was spotlessly clean. Little extras thoughtfully laid on (choice of teas, coffees, hot chocolate, biscuits, soaps, shampoos etc even a shower cap). All in all a very enjoyable stay and will deffo be coming back!
Extremely friendly proprietors. Lovely setting. Good breakfast. Shame about the weather!
The all-round care and service provided by Llwyn Onn was superb!!
really friendly - great stay! pool was a bit chilly
family owed & run .a most pleasant stay,my family and i hope to stay their again in the future, would & have recomend to family and friends nothing
The highly amiable and friendly owners of the property made the visit and our stay worthwhile. Harry and David, who own and maintain the property made us feel welcome and extremely comfortable. The ambience and the decor of the guest house was also superb and it is set in perfect harmony with the rolling Welsh landscape.
The staff were very welcoming and the room was clean and modern.
Friendly welcoming atmosphere, room very comfortable and warm in stunning surroundings.
The relaxing atmosphere. Whilst the bedroom was nice, the bed was extremely hard and the pillows were too. :( Also the price of the drinks were rather excessive.
The hotel was very pretty, our room was lovely and warm and the bath tub was huge! The food was really great and very cheap...
Comfortable and good value Lounge not signposted
Quality of service
The area is beautiful The rooms were dirty with cobwebs hanging all over the ceiling, 3 light bulbs were missing. I asked for the room to be cleaned and it was not done. Staff are amateurs.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this location. The dinner was excellent value with a good choice.
Lovely location. Great for exploring Snowdonia. Friendly young staff.
quiet setting, lovely property and attentive service, nice old charm, the bedroom in the attic was cool. no shower curtain in the shower or enough pressure from the shower head
The Victorian baronial style of domestic architecture with space, winter warmth, and friendly staff - (almost) giving the impression of staying in a family home in the very beautiful Conwy valley. The standard of service was very amateur; acceptable only on account of the beauty of the building and setting, and the price which is equivalent to most B&Bs. There is an opportunity to rasie the standard and the price.
Very pleasant stay - staff accommodating and friendly
Very clean, organised, polite staff. The rooms are very personalised and almost boutique in style and very spacious. Bar and restaurant well designed with a warm and comfortable feel. There is a free pool etc. However this is not within the hotel grounds. The Hotel has a second lower budget hostel type accomodation next door with a bar/grill called the stables. If you wanted a more informal evening out to eat you might be put off as this tends to fill up with very loud lager louts. This overall lets down the image of the Royal Oak. Having said that once in the Royal oak you forget it exists.
