Close to the center of Bratislava, good services noise from the big road in front of the hotel
A very comfortable hotel. Specious and clean rooms with new furniture. Good value for money.
Convenient to center of city, nice view of castle Under reconstruction, old, communist design, cheap furniture
A large enough room, personel, cleanliness, parking in the garage, location
Location. The staff was very helpful.
It was very central to the city centre, and only a short walk approx 20 mins to the railway station. Very clean. No air con
I liked the fact that is close to the historical centre and it has a parking area for free.I liked also the size of the bathroom , it was very large. I slept very well and not a single sound disturbed us . It was not possible to watch TV laying in bed , the TV was on the same wall with the bed ; the room didn't have any paintings on the walls and it looked like a hospital room.
Good lokation, clean, OK breakfast, fair price, free wifi internet It was a clean, OK hotel but a bit boring, no charm. More a buisness hotel then a nice stay for a holiday. We took it because it was central and the other hotels we wanted was fully booked. They were renovating the restaurant and cafe when we were there, so the breakfast was served in the basement.
everything was good enough no internet in the room
Nice clean, modern hotel with a great location and a very friendly, helpful staff.
Overall the hotel's services were excellent although I did have a problem with the room. The breakfast was particularly good. My room had a very distinctive smell of sewage or rancid fat which was very unpleasant. An attempt had been made to mask the smell with a plug-in room scent device but this only proved to make it worse. The hotel was full so there wasn't an alternative and I was only there overnight but I would be unhappy if it happened again.
wonderful hotel in great position at the center of the city.
The room and the SPA area together with the perfect location made the stay very relaxing. The minibar was not refilled daily, and there was no room service meny available, and we did not get any even after reminding the room service staff.
They made it very personal and were very friendly and had some nice touches to make the stay more comfortable Not really everything was at a very high standard
The service was really good the staff were very informative and friendly. The hotel was booked via the internet and so we weren't informed that the hotel's spa and steam room were not available or even finished which was disappointing.
The atmosphere, service, the whole package.
The hotel is still very new and the staff SO eager to please -- though still figuring some things out. For example, they can;t garage one's car because they are not insured for damage! That said, the garage is 20 steps away so it was not a problem. Hotel is superbly located and clearly the top spot in town. Should do very well once it becomes known -- we felt we were just about the only guests there the 2 nights we stayed,
Everything was extremley good n/a
very good service, what i would expect from a boutique hotel Television wouldnt work properly, thats all
The Arcadia is one of the nicest boutique hotels in all of Europe. The restaurant was wonderful. The staff was amazing - extremely nice and very helpful. The property and rooms are beautiful. The location is in the middle of Old Town and perfect for easy walking to all historical and other sites. We had an absolutely wonderful hotel experience at this property and will always stay there from now on, anytime we are in Bratislava. In fact, we are more likely to go back to Bratislava because of this hotel.
Too late check-in - 3 pm; expensive parking - 30 €/day; expensive breakfast - 18 €/person
very nice hotel
Large room, quiet, clean and nicely furnished. Just steps away from the pedestrian zone in the old city center.
nice new desing, friendly staff the hotel was facing some opening difficulties. No telephone line, no licence to sell alcohol etc
Modern hotel, just opened in September 2009, all the facilities are brand new, the rooms are very comfort, very well located, rich breakfast. The breakfast is a bit expensive ( 18 eu per person - not included in room price ), but the overall daily rate was reasonable.
The room was extremely comfortable, and the service from all staff was excellent. The location was convenient, and quiet.
Walkable to attractions, Parking cost 15 Euro per day, need front desk validate to get out, no instruction, no enter phone to talk to anyone at the gate, and then the public use PC's keyboard is kind of tricky to use for American, hard to find some regular use key like the @ .
Nice staff, good rooms, nice location cost for breakfast
the position of the hotel in the city center is great. room temperature was 25 degrees celcius and now way to cool. Temperature control had not effect, windows could not be opened. Service at reception was lousy.
recently opened hotel in a modern style, well located. Friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel noisy wooden floor in the guestroom; a little expensive
As this hotel is brand new, everything is still clean and functioning. The rooms are comfortable with a convenient working desk and the complimentary wifi is a valuable extra. The breakfast buffet is varied and the staff is very professional. € 18 for breakfast is rather expensive. They offer a wide choice of food, but when in a hurry and no time for an extended breakfast, this amount is high for a simple coffee and some cereals. A coffee-making device in the room would have been an appreciated alternative.
Good location for a business trip, or a short trip to the city. I had a nasty slip and fall in the steam room and almost broke my ribs. The floor was very slippery, and the management didnt seem concerned to offer medical help or install rubber mats as a safety issue inspite of advising them. I had to cough up a substantial amount for the ambulance and the government hospital.
The staff were excellent and knowledgeable and multi lingual. Breakfast seemed quite expensive as it was notincluded in the price. The pillow was not comfortable and the room was stuffy.
Location is great. Very near old city but on main road. Great breakfast! Huge selection of good fresh food. Staff is very helpful and polite.
Chic decor. Close to old town and castle. Friendly, helpful staff. The duvet was too small for the bed.
Very close proximity to the Old Town area of the city. The restaurant was very good. Hotel is in very good condition because it is new. Internet access was quite expensive.
Good hotel, location just outside oldtown, clean with spacious rooms ideal for weekend break. Breakfast @18 euro is way to expensive just walk in to centre for much better value, Everything else was fine.
Restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced Hidden expenses - airport transfer and city tax were extras. Breakfast cost more than evening meal.
Clean and very comfortable
A great hotel in a great location
Promotional offer , occupance of the hotel terrible ( 10% of the rooms ?) Normal price exceptional high ( courses A.S.o is the main income of the hotel)
The room was nice, bed was comfortable & the view was good..... The spa facilities were very nice even though the guy looking after them was not helpful, breakfast was ok Very loud on the Thursday night, music went on untill 4 or 5 am, Pool didn't open untill 9 am which is a shame if you have to leave early because it's very nice..... Sunbed would not turn on & the person in charge of the pool area was nowhere to be found
President-Suite very comfortable, nice bath tub, huge bed for the President-Suite to be the best room of the hotel, it was located in the 1st floor, so it was a bit too noisy from the street
location. I tried the singel (2nd floor) and the double room (3rd floor). I only stayed for 1 night. Every night extra woulf have been a waiste of money. Small, old rooms. Airco not working. Very small bathroom.
Great location, nice modern room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. What more could you want? The breakfast was uninspiring but it was free so I'm not going to complain.
A beautiful room with a view on the Danube river. It is also very close to the old town.
Very friendly staff. Location is very central. You can use the wellness facilities for free. Aircon was not working and the bathroom/toilet is quite small.
Comfort and location Would like tea/coffe making facilities in room
Free internet, Breakfast and very quite environment More selection of TV channels
Hotel ambience was very good with good value for money. location excellent with pleasant leisure facilities Hotel overheated and rooms facing Danube noisy with passing traffic. Room layout poorly designed - did not maximise use of space so felt somewhat cramped. No tea making facilities.
Possition, nice and wellcoming staff, good breakfast, other facilities not used... one of ghe old school hotels but really nice... my friends had dinner in their restaurant and appreciated this... Internet via cable (even for free), towels were not for adequate for 4-stars hotel...
location and hotel cafe
location is good. fitness room is too small.
Very good location in the city centrum :-)
the location is perfect price is high
Overall very expensive.
Although its right in the centre of the city, it is very quiet as its based in a pedestrianised square. Very pleasant location overlooking cafes and restaurants across the square
Excellent location, close to old town and 10 min walk to Incheba concert Venue.
The big room, the wieuw and the staff Everything was perfect!
Excellent location, good quality rooms and facilities Room cost reasonable but beware some serious price gouging: Overpriced mini bar - 6 euro for bottle water (which added up to quite a budget in very hot weather. Advise to stock up on water, etc before coming back to hotel in evening Overpriced breakfast
The old building is beautiful, as is the terrace for breakfast. The staff did their best, but see below for my sentiments on the fate of this beautiful hotel under Radisson management. A beautiful old hotel ruined by the insouciance of the Radisson group, which is quickly becoming the worse hotel chain around (of the better ones). One only hopes that the grand old lady which is the Carlton would be taken over by Kempinski, Starwood, Mandarin Oriental or other, which would give her the respect she deserves, as an old European hotel. The current way the hotel is run and decorated makes one sad.
I just loved it ... the hotel is just right in the spot as should be. In the right center of BA and with easy access everywhere .. clubs, bars, restaurants. I recommend this hotel with easy access form airport or from highway as I came by car and with parking of the hotel you don't need your car for all the period of the stay.
no shampo in bath 2 some one was nocking mz door 4pm
Very friendly and helpful staff. Newly decorated, spacious and comfortable rooms. Brilliant location - a hive of activity, but with windows closed, the noise was pretty much blocked out. Thai massage was a good choice!
Location is amazing. Lots of restaurants and shops right at your door step in the middle of the old town. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
This hotel is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed in. It's location is second to none and it's cleanliness and comfort is outstanding The only critisism that we had on our stay within the hotel is the food and restaurant. The breakfast was a big let down and the lack of choice and the lack of basics such as toast and a plain breakfast tea was a shame.
Everything, the staff was attentive and efficient, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable
Lovely large rooms with character. Really friendly and helpful staff who sorted out any problems immediately. Excellent location in Old Town.
Perfect downtown location, great rooms, good internet connectivity (wired and wireless), friendly and supportive staff. Be aware that cars and taxi's cannot get to the hotel (which is in the pedestrian zone), it's a 100 meter walk or so.
No better location, good price and the rooms are wonderful.
The staff Request of check out before official time on part of a person ...
wonderful location in the old town, helpful staff. buffet breakfasts are high quality the resturaunt is very popular making getting a table difficult
near to everything
Facilities / Services; Comfort
Highly recommended! Excellent location, very helpful staff.
This is a very new and stylish "boutique hotel" possibly designed for the more discerning clientelle. It has four apartment style suites on each floor and offers very comfortable and large rooms. Our rooms had 2 plasma screen TVs and we had the use of two bathrooms, one with wc and basin. Spotless and very well presented our room(s) were basically new and had possibly been used once or twice before. The location is excellent but bear in mind that the old town of Bratislava is very small. Gymn is free and well presented. jacuzzi and sauna come at an extra price. Breakfast was extra but is good value and in our opinion not overly priced. The quality of service and food were very good. The staff really go out of their way to be helpful and as it was my wife's birthday they even bought her a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a birthday gift. This isn't your normal type hotel. If you're looking for loads of space, quiet and comfort then this hotel is for you. There was a mix-up with the payment. They actually debited me at first when we arrived, then cancelled this refunding the card. They obtained a pre-authorization which they then cancelled. Eventually they did debit me the correct price when we left and they duly refunded the amount which they took when we arrived. This was down to human error and they apologised and assured me that all was well, which was the case.
The room was huge and comfortable, though warm. The place was what I would consider a real 5-star hotel. The location is close to the National Theatre and quite central. Some rooms are facing the street with Tram. It is not so visible but again, something to consider for 5-star...Location..Location...Location. Didnt like that I couldnt easily see that the JACUZZI can only be used for €50 for 2 hours. I choose the hotel for the amenties, which included the jacuzzi but didnt want to pay to use it.
We stayed at the Tulip from 21st-24th November and we cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough to help. We requested flowers and Champagne for the room and were not disappointed the bouquet was amazing. Set in a really good location for all the amenities Bratislava has to offer. The rooms are spacious and clean with everything anyone could need, the minibar is well stocked and surprisingly at a reasonable cost. All in all a great place to stay.
The building is beautiful. The room was very spacious, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It was one of the BEST rooms I have stayed in. The location was excellent. I was very impressed and the hotel is EXCELLENT value for money.
Superb hotel!!! Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room (the cheapest actually offered by Tulip House) was fantastic. A great base to explore the city from and highly recommended.
The suite was spacious, new, and lovely. The staff were friendly, spoke excellent english and made you feel very welcome. The breakfast was fantastic. There is nothing not to like.
The size, design and comfort of the room.
really great and luxurious hotel, the suite was very spacious and comfortable, the staff was very kind and helpful. We really recommend ths excellent hotel, one of the best we have seen in Europe. The location is great (300 m from the centre)
The staff allowed us to us the room until 8.30pm on th day of departure at no extra cost. This was most helpfull.
The size and quality of the room. Nothing
The cleanliness and comfort, together with a very substantial healthy breakfast choice.
A very well located hotel within a few minute walk from the historical city centre. There was no noise from the street. The hotel is nothing to write home about. It's not bad per se but I found it purely functional, almost industrious. Its modern design doesn't bring any surprises, the staff efficiently check you in and out without any sign of emotion or smile, and the breakfast has not further ambition but to refuel (everything was processed, no invention whatsoever).
Location and comfort nothing
I liked the comfort of the room, central location, good and reasonably priced restaurant. I liked the parking facilities which I though were very secure, although cramped, but I experienced no problems. The staff were helful and courteous. I thought the room rates were quite expensive even for a 4 star hotel in a central location. I have stayed in better 4 star hotels for less money.
Brand new hotel with excelent location downtown Bratislava N/A
good location, flexible service
Very good location, right in the center, within walking distance of all major attractions. Quit and relaxing. Poor breakfast and staff quite rigid.
All Limited parking capacity for van cars.
Excellent location, with friendly help. It was so clean and nice that it appeared as if we were the first occupants. I was very happy with this hotel, and would highly recommend it.
Quite and best position in the center , half of the price compare to the others 4* hotels.
The room was clean and comfortable, it would benefit from some in-room tea-making facilities or a fridge. The staff were helpful and easy to communicate with.
I enjoyed everything with the hotel, staff were excellent I enjoyed everything
convenient location, good price, clean rooms there was only one towel per person, which is strange, normally you need at least two.
Central location, friendly staff, reasonable price, allowed to extend check-out time. Charges for internet wifi, expensive breakfast, expensive bar.
convenient, cleaniness Not having two beds in the room
Good treatment from the staff, always happy to help. Good clean and well thought out room and bathroom. Very close to the old city. Constant drone of a rather noisy bathroom extractor fan which did not switch off all night. The staff did try to help but it meant calling out the technician, so it was decided it would be OK to leave it. No doubt fixed by now.
Its location and the bathroom cleanlines and shower ! The beds were not very comfortable , Staff do not smile enough and also there was a fire drill on one of the day we were leaving at 10.30 am 1) This was not communicated to guests well .. there should have been a letter placed in our room informing us of this . 2) this was in the morning when after a late night out was incovenent as most guests were still sleeping and we wanted to catch some sleep before having to check out! When we asked for a late check out to compensate us for the inconvenience we had to be referred to the manager who initially was inconsderate and wanted us to pay for the late check out which i feel was unfair ! It was only after one insisted and pointed that I would complain that the manager agreed to it . unessary exp
The location was superb, nice and quiet location and not too far from City centre. The fire drill was not explained very clearly to us on Monday 22/11, we were told to go away for 2 hours while this was going on.
location hotel bar and restuarant's prices are high
The staff were very happy to let us leave our luggage after we checked out No, was a good hotel
I like very much my walks in the old city of bratislava, Beautiful Bars, restaurants and shops. People are nice and very clean... I also like the shopping centre by the river. I had no problem what so ever!!
Excellent central location Air conditioning with limited control and can be noisy at weekends if window is open
very nice modern room, rare level of quality
The location in the downtown of the city, the staff was friendly. nothing
great room, great location
The hotel has big rooms and they are very nice, you will find yourself like in the castle. Beautiful hotel, beautiful location, total in the center of historic city, perfect staff and price.
This hotel is new, clear and well run. I like d teh stay very much. Still, the clients could be informed that the hotel is an apartment hotel and the services apart from (good) reception and (good) breakfast restaurant are non existent.
centrally located, quiet rooms
Parking is relatively far away....
we enjoyed the decor of the rooms as well as the decor of the hotel in general, also the location was really great, everything that you needed was right on the door step, altough if you walked into town a little further the prices tend to go down a good bit. well worth a visit, had a excellent time.
Really nice and clean rooms. Great location.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The situation on the Danube in the centre of Bratislava was excellent and provided easy access to the old town. The taxi ordered arrived on time. Where to start. That this was a former communist and controlling society was evident from the first. Long booking in form containing much unecessary and unwarranted information. Incredibly expensive for what was on offer. Decor generally was from the sixties or earlier in appearance. Carpet was thin and rucked. One chair was deeply stained. As I have a bad back the hard bed was reasonably welcome.
Staff were very good, view from room superb, good breakfast menu. good sized rooms, very comfortable. It looked a bit shabby from the outside, could do with smartening up. Poor access from street.
Staff were very helpful. They gave us plenty of assistance and local information. The location is quite spectacular. At the time we stayed the gasline had been severed by work on shore. This meant that we had no hot water. As we were only staying one night we coped ok, and the staff were very accomodating.
location was very convenient beds were uncomfortable
Good central location and helpful English speaking staff. The hotel was warm and clean (although a little shabby). I would probably stay there again but would hope to pay less for the room. They did not know we were coming but still found a room for us. It was a bit expensive for what we got. If the price was lower, we might not have been the only people who seemed to be staying there on the first night!!
Breakfast Noise during the night, bed...
it was in the boat that's coool and near to down town bad breakfast and not reallly nice rooom
near the old town carpets poor (spilled paint), very noisy (3am party-boat across the river), windows (dirty so you couldn't see out). Food cold - but prepared a warm (not hot) fried egg when asked (in broken Slovak)
Breakfast was, while not fancy or high quality, adequate and plentiful. The cabin itself was large enough to be comfortable. The location of the boat/boatel was definately of great advantage, only a few minutes walk to the historic centre. The cabins (or room) was in need of some work. The carpet, if you can call it that, was horrible, the matress depressingly thin and the bed, while a double (not two twins together) also short if you happen to above 6 foot tall, as are both myself and my girlfriend. Both the decor and the light fittings could definately use an overhaul. With some effort the rooms could be far more pleasant.
Its location was very good the city center is a few minutes from the hotel. My room overlooked the Danube. The recepcionist spoke to me in Hungarian (when he found out my nationality). The restaurant overlooks the river. The staff were helpful and kind. The room was a bit cold.
The sheer space in the accomodation, the attentiveness of the staff. All was clean and well managed.
nothing. was just perfect
Very quiet and peaceful location and very pleasant staff. Would stay here again.
Rooms were comfortable, clean, and new. We had a nice view of the castle from our room The staff were a bit abrupt, but generally helpful. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to the old town
it was great just one thing i would add000is the ability to have a hot dinnner or snack in the evening.
evrything was nice. i wish the tv was in the bedroom.
friendly staff, large elegant rooms
I really liked the feel and look of the place. The studio was comfortable and spacious. I was pleased with my choice of hotel. It was also nice to get breakfast brought to your room. The shortish uphill walk from the old town was refreshing after our heavy meal. The area was very quiet and we had a really good nights sleep.
It is in a nice location, and the apartment-style room offered (complete with working kitchen) is great.
We loved this hotel which was the first place we stayed on a two week trip. We loved the quiet location, which was still well located and close (15 minutes) from the city center as well as from the Castle. We highly recommend this hotel/residence.
Quiet place close to the center, clean room Wireless could work better
Small hotel with 12 rooms, staff really cared and made every effort. Lovely decor, brand new. Absolutely excellent value for money. Breakfast was continental and as much as you want.
Only location is good. The wireless network is week. With the facilities they provided, i think its too expensive.
Clean hotel room, basic but all you need. Would have liked to have a haridryer in the room :-)
Staff was friendly and helpful. The towels in the shape of swans was a nice touch. Beds very comfortable. We wished we had tried the breakfast, but we avoided it based on customer reviews. I believe that the hotel has improved it.
I really loved the hotel and the rooms very much. The hotel was really easy to find and the direction in the website was really helpful. You can walk to the historical places easily. It was clean and smart. and special thanks to Nika who really did her best to make everything great for me during my stay:)
very nice place.very friendly staff.highly recommended
This was a surprise-trip for my girlfriend a romantic weekend Bratislava. This hotel was good. The room was very clean, we had a bathtub as well... And I think the best thing - especially compared to other hotels of the same category - is that it is situated very near to the old city center and the staff is friendly, especially the guy with the little dog! We requested a double bed and got two seperate beds against one another. The cc-machine was broken so we had to pay all in cash (small inconvenience and they offered us free breakfast for it). But breakfast was very poor... we only took it the first morning... there were small worms in the cornflakes... but the girl from the reception was a bit shocked as well and immediatly replaced it, but even the fruits and etc. were very dry and it was not really a good start of the day... No worries; plenty of other things around! +Keep your key with you, the first night we got locked out together with the receptionist! He had to get a ladder and climb over to the neighbours! But all good in the end - we didn't care, the room itself was good!
Very clean with helpful, friendly staff. Central location.
The receptionist was really helpful.
Free ineternet access in public areas No turn down service
Friendly staff, clean facilities and good location Hotel Bar was expensive. No water dispensers in the gym
Great rooms, great value! Fantastic location, I highly recommend!
The stay was excellent. the staff allowed us to do a late checkout and they had a freee Business centre which could be utlised we didnt have the breakfast as it was far too expensive
Great breakfast. Clean and modern room. Friendly and helpful staff.
Very comfortable sleep Nothing
The staff did not understand english or were very poor in their understanding, they were not friendly at all.
The location of the hotel and the provided services. The personnel generally and specifically in the recepion to knows the provided services of the hotel.
Great customer service, nice room, excellent breakfast.
It is close to the city center. Hotel didn't find my reservation by Booking.com. I had to re-book my room again.
The location is great right in the middle of the city easy to findand 5 min walk to the old town It was a hassle to find a parking we had to pay 35 euro a day for hotel garage when our rental car was only 50 euro a day very stupid
