6.0 Good
Pros: the staff were very helpful and friendly.the bar was cosy and well staffed food was good value for money and very nice with large portions.drinks were also reasonably priced.all round very enjoyable stay.
6.7 Good
Pros: The position overlooking the harbour at Dun Laoghaire is superb. The location is ideal for travel to Dublin using the DART and there are good shops and restaurants locally. The hotel can have local musicians performing.
Cons: The rooms at the front can be noisy from the trains and if there is an event on a Saturday night as they are over the bar. However the magnificent view out to sea is compensation. The maintenance of the rooms needed a little attention.
5.2 Okay
Pros: Great view
Cons: 2 single beds joined together with a lump in the middle which was uncomfortable. The room is advertised as a double but 2 single beds pushed together is not a double bed.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Seaview. Wifi in lobby work well. Plenty of parking space.
Cons: No wifi in room unfortunately. On arrival only one of four lightfittings in room worked! Implies poor maintenance. When pointed out to reception all were quickly fixed, though. Breakfast at ten euro very poor. Extremely limited selection and bad attention to topping up the buffet.
7.6 Good
Pros: Meals were very good and value for money and all the staff were exceptionally helpful
Cons:
4.8 Okay
Pros: Great location, handy for Dart and a short walk to the seafront and the centre of town. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. We were on the back of the hotel and it was quiet for sleeping - no traffic noise and no noise from the bar. Breakfast was very good for the price with the exception of the coffee which tasted boiled. The location was great for the fast ferry terminal which we were leaving on the next day
Cons: Hard to get suitcases into the reception area through double doors and up steep steps. Carpets and fittings in the reception area are tired and don't give a good first impression. Black mould on the bathroom ceiling and tiles gave another bad first impression.
6.4 Good
Pros: The hotel provided all I needed. I was able to come and go as I wanted, the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was fine and the breakfast was excellent and well served.
Cons: The only thing I wanted and couldn't find was instructions for working the television remote control.
Claremont House - Dún Laoghaire - Bedroom
8
8.3 Excellent (249 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Around 20 minutes’ drive from Dublin, Claremont House provides accommodation in Glenageary, 3 minutes’ walk from the train station. Each room has either en suite or private bathroom facilities. Full Irish breakfast is served from 07:30 – 09:00. This guest house is around 15 minutes’ walk from the James Joyce Tower and Museum at Sandycove Point. Dublin Airport is just under 25km away.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was nice: right off the bus station and the home was quiet. Anne and Daniel were quiet, respectful owners.
Cons: I think we were disappointed with the overall quality of our experience here. The rooms were clean but run down looking. The food was plain and uneventful; the cookies and fruit provided in the dining room were stale or past ripe. There were no directions provided in the living room for folks who wanted to use the tv/audio system. And when we tried to find one of the homeowners for assistance, we were unable to find them. We had no way to reach them until the next morning even though they lived in the lower half of the house.
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Georgian building and antique furniture
Cons: No wardrobe, table or chair in room which had three beds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect, the owners are very friendly and accommodating! I strongly recommend this B&B.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property and highly recommended.
7.0 Good
Pros: Owners were very welcoming and helpful, lovely period property and good breakfast
Cons: While rooms are a good size and comfortable they lack a few small facilities such as TV and coffee making facilities. This was not a major issue as you do have the option of coffee/Tea downstairs
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Proprietors were lovely and Dennis kindly catered for a situation that required short notice booking. Lovely stay with a lovely cooked breakfast the following morning.
6.0 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed, clean room, charming "old" style BNB. Iron available on request.
Cons: Hosts were quite particular around arrival times to the point of being irritating about it. I have not experienced this before at hotels or BnBs. No VAT shown on receipt. This is not ideal for a business traveller. There was no sign outside the door so I'd to wander around in the rain looking for it. Eventually had to phone them to find out which house was theirs. If you know your arrival time in advance, and don't require a VAT receipt, then this is the place for you.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice big room - comfy bed - lovely breakfast. Great hosts
Cons: Everything was fine. Maybe TV in room would be good but wouldn’t stop us staying again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very traditional, comfortable house near Dart station, very close to Dun Laoghaire, Glusthule and Dalkey. Good breakfast and a lovely house lady
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, we were extremely happy with everything.
Cons: Comfortable clean lovely people
Tara Hall Accommodation - Dún Laoghaire - Bedroom
9
8.0 Excellent (1 reviews)
2.7 Mediocre
Pros: Appearance from outside - nice old Georgian house.
Cons: Very shabby - threadbare sheet, lumpy mattress, needs redecorating badly (eg why not paint over the shape left by the old loo roll holder from when it was last decorated - so simple to do!) -paint splashes on shower, dirty walls etc etc. Bathroom smelt of old drains. This could be such a lovely place with a bit of care. Owner a bit intimidating.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location, near sea, Dart. Hospitable staff
6.0 Good
Pros: We only stayed the one night and had a family room which we found suited our needs adequately.
Cons: No
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Only spent one night there, booked it because of location, being handy for the port, and good value.
Cons: No lift, stairs difficult for a friend who has a very painful ankle.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendlyand helpful, great breakfast, very homely place, nice location and good value for money
2.7 Mediocre
Pros: I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. It was dreadful. I am surprised that they are allowed to call it a guest house .Having stayed in various places through the world this is by far the worst experience I have ever had.
Cons:
