One of the worst rental car experiences I’ve ever had. I reserved a Tesla and completed check-in in advance, expecting a smooth pickup.However, when I arrived, the Tesla was not available. I ended up waiting for about 1 hours and still did not receive the vehicle I reserved. During the process, I was first offered random replacement options that were not comparable to what I booked, including a hybrid Dodge and a Hyundai IONIQ, even though I clearly explained that I was not comfortable driving an unfamiliar EV. I asked for a regular gas or hybrid SUV such as a RAV4 instead. After all the waiting and back-and-forth, I was finally given a very poor-condition Chevrolet SUV, which felt like a major downgrade from my original reservation. On top of that, the rental agreement initially showed an optional Loss Damage Waiver added as “accepted,” even though I did not want it and already had rental car coverage through my credit card. I had to specifically go back and ask them to remove it. The staff also told me the final receipt could only be provided after the rental ended, which made the whole process feel even more confusing and unreliable. The vehicle I finally received was disappointing, and I even had to buy a charging cable myself because the replacement car did not have what I needed for navigation/phone charging. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating experience: the reserved car was unavailable, the pickup was delayed by 1 hours despite advance check-in, the replacement vehicle was poor, and the billing/optional coverage process was unclear.
