9.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Macdonald Elmers Court Hotel for 4 nights and will definitely visit again. The staff were brilliant and did everything possible to make our visit memorable. Megan and Tess were fabulous at the front desk and reception, Carlos at the bar and Voytec and Ethan at the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was of a high standard and all our evening meals at the Waterford restaurant were of a very high standard. The facilities at the spa and swimming pool were very good. Our rooms were large, comfortable and very well equipped and room service was excellent. The hotel is beautifully located for exploring the New Forest and the Isle of Wight. The hotel is very family friendly and my 4 yr old daughter and 73 yr old mother thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were outstanding and made our experience very memorable. I was impressed to see the general manager leading by example and helping out when the restaurant got very busy in the morning.
Cons: We couldn't fault the hotel or the staff on anything.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet in an lovely setting
Cons: A bit stuffy and waiting for service at the bar or at check in was slow
6.0 Good
Pros: Lovely grounds to walk around. Comfortable rooms. Clean.
Cons: Odd set up of hotel rooms in a separate block to main building (bar, restaurant etc), quite difficult to locate room in the dark - poor signage and lighting. Staff in bar quite grumpy and more focussed on restaurant. Initial reception poor, sent to room without room key. Room decor quite dated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment I arrived at the hotel to the moment I checked out. My stay was perfect the receptionist couldn't have done more for me and was professional I didn't catch her name but she showed me around where I needed to go to get to my room and made me feel welcome and relaxed. The room was out of this world and nothing I expected at all though some of the furniture was a little dated it had massive patio doors overlooking the courtyard a lovely big comfortable bed a fridge a sofa tea and coffee glasses and a ice bucket a nice bathroom with a powerful shower and nice decent hot water. The room got a little cold but it didn't take long to heat up when you put the heater on. Wifi worked really well and I found my phone signal was weak but I didn't mind. I didn't use the leisure facilities on this occasion but I look forward to returning.
Cons: There was no uk plug sockets next to the bed the ones next to the bed that the lamps were plugged into had 3 prongs and not suitable for phone chargers etc.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old building. I was able to check in late with the night porter. I was very comfortable and well looked after. I would reccomend, Thank you
6.0 Good
Pros: Comfortable room, but like the whole property, it is a bit like the residents... somewhat old. Very cozy lounge areas with open fires and great to be able to sit in some of them with the dog. Very pleasant and helpful staff in the dining/bar area. The restaurant does lack some atmosphere though the quality of the food (and service) more than makes up for this. Nice indoor pool and sauna area. Gym too.
Cons: Declined the £15pp breakfast option - just a little off the beaten track from where we wanted to be.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff helpful. Dinner exceptional.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Very good breakfast and friendly staff
Cons: Noise from adjacent bedroom/bathroom
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The lounges , the pool, the grounds, the staff, the food all very good. Just needed a comfortable relaxing break which the hotel provided. Very pleased will rebook.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: 1970's in a good way, nice clean friendly, with a decent restaurant. Good place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool irresistible, 3 lovely toasty lounges to choose from with log fires and luxurious seating.... feels like home . Food excellant choice from snacks to hearty meals .,. Not forgetting the desserts. Room tasteful and nice to get carpeted bathroom , so warm underfoot ..... not so common these days .
Cons: Slightly chilly in room ... due to large windows single glazed ... however , very likely to be compulsory, as looks to be a lovely listed building with lots of history and character.

7.0 Good
Pros: Comfy bed. Nice toiletries. Continental breakfast was good.
Cons: 2 of the staff were not particularly helpful, one was great. Dirty doors in the stairwell but the room was clean. Shower in one of the rooms didn't work.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely, and the location perfect for exploring. Breakfast was plentiful, but cooked elements were extra. Having said that, the continental breakfast was perfect for us. Our room was always ready when we returned from a day out, and having parking available was a real bonus.
Cons: Our only grouse was that, on occasion, staff were slow to respond to our presence (breakfast) and had we been in a hurry it would have been irritating. We sometimes felt that we were causing an imposition (staff with earphones and attending to other duties) but on the whole we were happy. Four o'clock check-in on the dot! a bit late after a day travelling.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location and slightly quirky
Cons: Lacking attention to detail - plants at the front dead, door marked private at the top of the stairs was extremely scuffed and dirty - not what you would expect on the bedroom floor.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location. Nice comfortable large room Pub great with open fires Daily room service Good food Free parking

Cons: N/A
6.0 Good
Cons: being charged for english breakfast
6.0 Good
Pros: Location.
Cons: Included breakfast was continental... Had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. This wasn't highlighted when booking. Couldn't check in earlier than 4pm.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quirky rooms, although paint work/ plaster needed re-doing. Cleaner/ room attendant was friendliest staff member. Great location and nice decor. Little beer garden at back and parking
Cons: We weren't told it was only a continental breakfast included - not a full English! They were going to charge us but gave it to us as a complimentary one. Couple of staff seemed miserable. We were told coffee machine was broken at 10.30 PM when we asked for two coffees at the bar but it was working fine the next morning at breakfast! When we couldn't find the carpark we were told we should have rung ahead to find code and directions- we weren't told that either!

Cons: There is no lift.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good for the function we attended.
Cons: Room was a little 'tired'. The bed could have been more comfortable. Stayed at a 'Premier Inn' the week before and the bed there was far superior and the room was half the price of the South Lawn Hotel.

Cons: Nothing I can think of!

Pros: Locality to Milford on Sea was brilliant, room was lovely and the view over the field was peaceful. Receptionist and staff very helpful
Cons: Unfortunately the floor in the restaurant hadn’t been hoovered and bits of food was still on it from the night before however the breakfast was freshly cooked and tasted so good that made up for it. The carpet on the stairs was frayed but didn’t upset the look of the hotel which was festive and very welcoming.

Pros: Apart from those two small things, everything was absolutely perfect! Such a lovely place, Linda was extremely warm and welcoming, me and my girlfriend both felt like it was a very homely place.
Cons: There was two minor things: 1. The gap between the two beds was a little annoying, it wasn't anything majorly wrong by all means. 2. The key to the room was a little difficult, that may just be my own fault though!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: perfect for our weekend away, close to the town and the ferry
