Cons: The company should give margin 1 hour in pick up and return

Cons: The only thing that I would say is NOT ACCEPTABLE, the original reservation was ordered to pickup at 6pm and drop-off at 6pm. The location was closed upon drop-off and I incurred fees. They were very nice and accommodated me by waving the insurance and only charging for half a day, HOWEVER, it was not my fault the location was closed to drop off the car. When ordering the car I should not been given the option to pick it up or drop it off the same time the location closes. I should not have paid for anything.

Cons: They wouldn’t let me rent a car. Because I don’t have a major credit card. I’ve rented cars from this company for years. Because of this I was late for my meeting and will now longer be using Enterprise moving forward.

Cons: A wait to rent the car.

Cons: We made a reservation. Went to pick up the car and they had no cars. At least 20 other people were there with reservations as well and yet found themselves in the same boat. It was a holiday weekend and not getting a car ruined ours. Plus we paid in advance for the Kayak insurance which was pointless because we never even got a car.

Cons: Online booking allowed me to use a debit card to pay for my car rental. When I went to pick up the car, I brought the card that I payed with and the employee said I couldn't rent without a credit card. I feel pretty strongly that the online booking process should account and correct for this. My trip was torpedoed because of this and I'm waiting for a refund that I hopefully get by the end of the month.

Cons: The only disappointing factor was just the cost -- it's always absurdly expensive to rent a car in NYC, and this was no exception.

Cons: Didn't receive car until 45 minutes after reservation. Pick up process was messy. After returning, I noticed a charge on my credit card for over $300 beyond what was expected. This was cleared up after a phone call, but this was much more painful than it had to be. With competitors like Zipcar and Enterprise Car Share, this location would do well to tighten things up.

Cons: Booked for one location online (Union Street in Brooklyn) - when I went to that location, they said they didn't have any cars and were completely, utterly unhelpful. Said I could try a different location (Atlantic Ave), but made ME call and coordinate rather than taking care of it for me. The Atlantic Ave location was excellent - they honored the original price I'd booked even though it was supposed to be more expensive, and allowed me to drop off at the Union St location, who had hours more convenient for me, at no extra cost. Further, the eventual price was $20 less than what I'd originally agreed to when renting! The Union Street location was terrible.

Cons: I am being picky, but that is what reviews are for. The exterior of the car was very dirty, but the dirt was more than compensated for by the price, the quality of the car and the Hertz service staff. The car only had 1/4 tank of fuel, which was a minor inconvenience, but also meant I could return it near 1/4 with no questions asked.

Cons: Service should be until midnight in locations outside airports.

Cons: Reserved a compact and got a Ford Mustang. Not small and yet not easy to get two suitcases into. And the car rides incredibly rough. And I drove it 25 miles but had to put 3 gallons of gas into it to fill it before return. Either tank was not full when I picked it up or the car gets 8 mpg.

Cons: The car was extremely dirty and sticky. The seats were stained and the interior clearly hadn't been cleaned in quite some time.

Cons: We used the car for a weekend trip to the beach. Unfortunately, it rained the whole time so we didn't get to spend any time on the actual beach, but inevitably a bit of sand stuck to the bottoms of our shoes. Also, a small bit of pet hair transferred from our clothes to the seats. When it was time to return the car, 2 men came to check it out. The first one, James, tried to claim the car was excessively dirty and I would be charged "up to $250." He then showed me a line in my agreement that said the fee was for messes considered to be beyond "normal wear and tear," which is exactly what it was. He let me know that he "accepts tips" and we could "work something out" if I'd like to pay him cash to take care of it for me in order to avoid the charge. When I said no, he suggested I give the security guard $20 to let me leave, get the car detailed, and come back. At this point I asked him if he was trying to hustle me and he threw up his arms and walked away. The second man came over when he saw me frantically pulling the individual hairs off the upholstery (that's how little hair was there) and told me that the condition of the car was well within their guidelines of cleanliness and not to worry about it. So I went to the counter to settle the bill and told the attendant what happened. First she said that was crazy and then left to speak to James. When she returned, she said he "must have been joking because that's not how we operate here." She then said I would have to take the car to get detailed or pay $75, and when I finally agreed (they had my credit card number - what else could I do?), she said to make sure they put the paper down over the floor mats so they know I really did it. Cost me an extra $45. Seems like their employees just don't want to do any work because when I returned, both James and the desk agent were just lounging in the office. Finally, as I noted, it had been raining for days, so as I was leaving, I slipped on the wet step and injured my ankle and knee. The Budget employees did nothing. The other customer in line was the only one who came out to make sure I was okay. Horrible experience. I would never rent from this place again.

Cons: There were no cars when I went to pick my car up and there was no timeline as to when cars would be made available-- despite having made a reservation in advance. The woman at the desk was unhelpful and I ended up waiting for two hours past my reservation time for a car.

Cons: I waited 40 minutes for my car, despite the fact that I had an appointment. One person in line in front of me took 10 minutes - no problem. Then another half hour with no explanation. Repeated requests for the car had no effect. I'll never use Budget again.

Cons: We arrived at 11:15 am to pick up my rental, which was booked for noon. Without saying anything, the representative printed out the contract for me to sign, which showed $392 as the price. The price I booked was $215 for a 24-hour rental. I asked why it was so much, and she said "You're early, so you went over the 24 hours." This is ridiculous, as I hadn't done anything yet. I said I would have happily waited until noon--just 45 minutes--to take the car had she notified me that it would cost an additional $150 for an extra hour of the rental. She actually didn't speak at all while she was processing the rental. We just stood there waiting for her to tell us what to do. Terrible customer service. She did, finally, tell us that if we arrived the following day by 11:16 am then we would not be charged. We arrived at 10:30 to be safe, and were assured that we would not incur additional hourly charges.

Cons: Went to pick up van i rented on line for one way trip bringing household items to new home in Florida. arranged on-line for a panel van reservation made no problem. arrived to pick up van and only passanger vans avail, rude obnaxious stall told me they dont rent panel vans for one way and told to walk to another location in brooklyn or manhattan.they would NOT call other locations ,aid they didnt have a phone to call "outside" no one offered to use their phone. asked them to check "online" for me and they said they dont have internet access. i asked for manager.no manager and no call as promised. I wil NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER USE THEM AGAIN . i AM TELLING EVERYONE TO AVOID THEM

Cons: i did not rent any car there that day. i reserved a compact car, but when i arrived, the maneger said they do NOT have cars except a Ford explore. and there were three families waiting cars there. they treated customers and messed our plan.

Cons: The staff at this location when I picked up the car was super uncommunicative and unfriendly. Didn't explain charges. Also if you don't refill the car all the way, it's $10 per gallon for them to refill it, which is highway robbery

Cons: My complaint is that after purchasing insurance on the website at the time of booking, I was then told upon pick up that the website insurance wasn't as valid and was through a third party and the liability would fall on me to recoup any loss if something was to happen. It always feels like a scam when you book a rental then told the insurance you already got wasn't as good as the one offered in store. I feel after driving it for some time the vehicle needed a tune up, would stagger to accelerate and ran sluggish.

Cons: They didn't have the vehicle model I reserved and the price was more than advertised online. Also, the car interior was not cleaned (or even emptied of trash) before it was given to me.

Cons: This was a beautiful car, the customer service was great and everything was accommodating. My only complaint was that the price is high. I suppose it is competitive but it is a lot of money. If they lowered the price, I would be more likely to rent frequently.

Cons: I reserved a Lincoln MKZ and ended up with a Lincoln MKT which is smaller than what I needed. Customers should get what they pay for, not what you guys have available. It's very frustrating because I rented that car for a specific reason and had to alter my plans to accommodate what you gave me instead of what I reserved.

Cons: It took us about 30 minutes to find a gas station near the Avis office. It wash rush hour with traffic, one way roads and 'no u turn' signs. I wish at least there was some information about the closest working gas station for people who are new in ny.

Cons: Not a huge issue, but there was a long line-up for pick-up on a Saturday morning (9:00 am) pick-up. Perhaps some sort of early warning via email might enable customers to plan better. Otherwise, excellent car experience, no price surprises.
