Pros: Easy to deal with people and quick pick-up and drop-off but this wasn't critical or important with regard to my experience.Cons: Big bait and switch deal on two big issues. First, Insurance costs were high and not clearly indicated on Kayak website. I thought I had signed up for full insurance when I booked the rental. Also had to upgrade to equivalent of what would be standard minivan in the US because the 7 passenger vehicle that I had rented on kayak really was not a 7 passenger vehicle unless you were putting midgets in the third row. Other than that Mrs. Lincoln how did you like the play?

They are basically liarsPros: NotingCons: after 3 branches I went to physically said there are no cars the 4th said there is manual stick economy car at 200$ per day. I eventually ordered from kayak Mercedes Benz or similar. We got a Volvo for a Mercedes price, Not to mention that 3rd party insurance + wheels insurance doubled the entire rental price. Also 0 phone support

Cons: At the check-in I was informed that as the rental was done via a USA based agency and that I was using an EU based credit card and drivers licence , that I was Absolutely OBLIGED to take their full insurance... otherwise the rental would not be honored. This despite I already have a good policy with both my own car and via my gold credit card. The insurance was more than the rental. I feel lied to by Kayak , Europcar, and whatever middle-man you sub-contracted via.

Pros: The car we ended up getting was fine.Cons: We paid for a mustang convertible or similar but when we got there they considered a fiat 500 comparable. Then there only Other option was a VW bug convertible, in our minds going on a costal vacation and paying for an upgrade neither of those cars compared. Very unfortunate and put a damper on our trip

I have had better experiencesPros: Friendliness of staff.Cons: There are two terminals at BCN and I had reserved at #1, but picked up at #2. They told me they didn't have any small cars like I wanted. I could have gone back to terminal #1 and gotten the original car, buty ended up with a much larger and more expensive car. They should coordinate between the two terminals. They didn't inspect the exterior of the car when I picked up, but did when i returned it. This could have been a problem though it wasn't.

They tell you the car don't have scratch and when you go to check the car have some scratches also they tell you where the car is park and you don't see the car is park in different place. They charge you for everything

Hired a 4x4, got a 2wd. Absolutely shocked.Pros: I specifically hired a 4x4 as I was heading to the mountains to ski. I received a jeep Suv that appears to be a 4x4, but was in fact only 2wd. It was also on cheap aftermarket tyres. The vehicle was utterly incapable and could not even make it up an icy road to the accommodation, and later got stuck in a hotel car park. The pick up was delayed by an hour while i waited around too. I am awaiting a compete refund for this booking.Cons: Being given a 2wd when I specifically ordered a 4x4

Goldcar runs a scam with KayakCons: Pickup was in Barcelona Airport. The price per day that you book via Kayak does not include a bonus fee (for me it was an airport tax + 25 euros = 28 euros) for rentals. Additionally, I returned and a difficult-to-see dent in the side of the car was blamed on me. It was so small and difficult to see that I cannot say whether it was there when I rented the car. I am now in legal proceedings with them over the issue.

Off airports issuePros: Helpful staff doing the best they can within company strategy and charges.Cons: Long wait for shuttle when I landed, then to be told my return flight at 7 am was too early and I would need to pay 40 Euro for shuttle. I am sure it is in the small print somewhere but in the middle of an off fire tradingvedtste your choices are then limited.

Cons: booked With ACE all insurance included. Upon Arrival Goldcar Barcelona, tells us, that they do not accept the terms and conditions negotiated by ACE and that ACE has no cars and that we have to accept their conditions otherwise there is no car. I have had an exchange with priceline on this issue - to no avail. It is for me not acceptable that I'm not aware that the subcontractor of ACE (in this case Goldcar) does not accept the conditions of ACE. Goldcar has been condemned for this business practice in Italy, but not yet in Spain. ACE should stop working with Goldcar or make it clearer to the customer, that the contract via internet will not be honoured upon arrival and that more costs are to be expected.
