Pros: I did a search for a car pick up from the airport but in fact the pick up place is like 10miles away from the airport
Cons: Not a single sign outside that let you know that Herzt is there, I had to call to find the place..
The tank was empty.. wich is a smooth way to steal you as you will fill it up but is practically impossible to give it back empty again.. so the gas on the car is to hertz or next costumer..

Cons: Extremely far from our hotel with no shuttle to pick us up or drop us at the airport. The key got stuck in the ignition had to find a dealership open 17 miles away so the could get the key out totally ruining our plans for the evening

I couldn't get the car
Pros: I couldn't make it on time because of traffic, so I call the place where I reserved the car to let them know that I wouldn't be able to make it before six, since they close at six. The guy I spoke to told me I can just go to the airport to get the car there, when I get to orlando I went to the airport to pick up the car, I spent about 4 hours waiting to get the car, but I wasn't able to get the car because I needed a boarding past, which I didn't have since I wasn't traveling by plane....
Cons: The lady I spoke to the airport was the most disrespectful person I have ever spoke to, this was my first time renting car with hertz and that will be my last time. Oh I'm still waiting for my refund.

Not What I booked
Pros: The Hertz personal I dealt with at Orlando International Airport were pleasant, helpful, and tried to fix a bad situation.
The customer service rep committed to try to reverse my charges despite the fact there was a no refund policy attached with the reservation and did so in less than a week.
I have rented through Hertz in the past and will continue to do so based on this interaction.

Happily the representative was able to get the charge totally refunded to my credit card.
While this was a positive ending I was still without a car for my week stay in Orlando
When I called the Hertz rental at the Mazda dealership I was told my reservation had been cancelled when I didn't show up on the morning of Oct. 4 for pick up; a time I clearly had not requested.
CarRentals.com has no phone number and has not responded to my complaint through their site. Given that CarRentals.com is representing Hertz in this rental they clearly are not providing the service they are offering. I clearly would not have agreed to a pick up hours before reaching Florida at a site I could not get to. In addition I would not have chosen a provider I was not familiar with as I make it a point of dealing with companies that I know live up to their reputations and that provide the expected services.
Hertz may want to reconsider their relationship with CarRentals.com as they clearly do not embody the same values that Hertz is known for.

Cons: I began my rental experience using KAYAK as a search. After imputing my needs, location for pick-up/drop/off, dates, times, ect., a list came up with a number of possibilities.
My request was for an Intermediate size car (Toyota Corolla or similar), pick up Oct.4 at 8:30pm, drop-off Oct. 11 at 8:00am, and pick-up and drop-off at Orlando International Airport (MCO).
The first vehicle on the list fit my price and car type and indicated that it was a Hertz rental. I clicked on it and once again applied the filters that met my requirements. At first it said that it was through CarRentals.com despite stating otherwise on the list but then it instructed me to go to the Hertz site.
The car was there with the price that was previously quoted, with the correct dates, and an address for pick-up/drop-off which I assumed was MCO as that was the location I requested and had removed all other options using the filter. While I kept trying to input the pick-up/drop-off times it continued to go back to 12:00pm for both. I went back to KAYAK and tried to do the search again with the same results. At this point I looked at several other Hertz vehicles in other size options and these too reverted to the 12:00pm pick-up/drop-off showing the same rental location.
I then decided to continue with the rental figuring that there was either a glitch in the system or that times were not a major factor in the rental. I chose to pre-pay as it was the cheaper option, indicated that I was a legal driver over 25, and indicated that I had auto insurance.
The entire transaction went through the Hertz site, Hertz was the name on the confirmation, and Hertz was the company that charged my credit card.
When I arrived at the Hertz desk at Orlando International Airport and gave them my confirmation number they told me that I did not have a reservation there. Upon further investigation the desk service person found that the reservation was for a car at a Mazda dealership about 30 minutes away from the airport and when she called to see if the car was there discovered that the dealership closed at 6:00pm and it was now past 9;00pm.
I then called the Hertz customer service number listed on my reservation gave them my confirmation number and was told the same thing. They also said that I was scheduled for pick-up on the morning of Oct. 4 which I clearly had not requested as my flight on Oct.4 was scheduled to leave until 2:00pm. At this point there was little to do except try to change my reservations to the airport. Unfortunately as it was a holiday weekend coming up there were no vehicles available for rental at any price. My only option was to try to pick up the car the next morning but that too required canceling my current reservation and re-renting the next day else where. The customer service person I spoke with did say as it was a prepay through CarRentals.com there was a no refund policy but he would see what he could do.

And it’s gone!?
Cons: So came time to return the car and the rental office I picked up the car at was just GONE. Would have appreciated being notified of this in advance. There was a note on the derelict office door stating a chang in location, too bad the address was incorrect, oh yea and no one was answering the phone numbers listed because they close at 1pm, which was also my drop off time, it was not yet 1pm by the way. So with a screaming toddler in the back seat and stressing about missing my flight, I finally find the new location after 45 minutes. Thanks for ruining the last day of my vacation Hertz, and for the late fee that was out of my control.

Cons: Car wasn't cleaned or ready. They didn't full the gas tank. Had to fight to go exchange it the following day.
Pros: friendly helpful staff at pickup, clean office, clean READY FOR ME, effiicient staff at checkout, value for the rental.
Cons: pickup location needs a sign to help find them. hard to find by address for first timer.

Cons: They didn't have a car ready for the time I requested. I don't k ok why it let me book a reservation if they didn't have a car? They called me in the morning before I was about to put it up saying there was no car and they weren't sure when they were going to get more.
Then they didn't even offer me anything as retribution for their mistakes
Cons: I reserved a suburban a month in advance to be called 45 minutes from the time I was supposed to pick it up to be told they didn't have one and the company shipped a Ford Explorer to the location instead.
Customer service is nearly non existent. After spending two hours on the phone with customer service I finally got in touch with the regional manager. He did get me a suburban 10 hours later. This ruined part of our family vacation because it was so late. The company then tried to charge me double what it cost originally because the entire rental agreement had to be recreated. Argued with the front desk at 10 pm that night when I had to be on the road at 4 AM the next morning. Finally got them to fix the price only to wake up the next morning and find the incorrect, double, price was still charged. I had my wife call while I was driving the next morning to fix it. Customer service kept trying to tell me it was a hold...REALLY??!!! For $2000 ish when the original was for just over a $1000?! After another 2 hours on the phone with them they finally released the hold and gave us our money back.
Finally once we got home I had to take it in and again go argue with the front desk because of the incorrect price being charged on my card and I didn't want it popping back up after we turned it in. They assured me it was fixed and it was just the mistake of the agent who originally checked us out late that one night.
Avis ruined our family vacation. We will never rent from them again. i gladly pay the extra that National charges. Stay far away from Avis! The other reviews about how horrible of a company they are are true! The incompetence of its employees is astounding and customer service cannot do anything for you. They read from a script and are like robots!
Pros: loved the car we rented, the process to pic up the car was a little slow waiting for our turn at the counter, but once we got there, it was fast and no problems.
Cons: The fact that I had to return the car. I really enjoyed the car we choose and we had no issue with the process.

After a rocky start, the follow up was excellent.
Pros: The young woman at the counter was very accommodating when our rental via a third party was changed to an off airport site. The woman who brought us to the car was very thorough going over damage to the car, and the drop off went very smoothly.
Cons: Car damage.
