5.0 Okay
Pros: I liked the fact that the hotel wasn't too far from the funeral home where my sister's service was being held.
Cons: The carpeting needs to be upgraded, my allergies were on high gear due to the exceptionally warm weather and carpeting. Also, the website (3rd party) indicated the room price included breakfast but upon inquiry I quickly found out that wasn't the case but the front desk clerk was very gracious and gave me two tickets but did not accommodate my other family members in adjacent rooms. It was very disappointing because we were all there for my sister's funeral and was unable to get a hot meal before heading out to the service.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location/restaurant food and staff/hotel front desk staff - exceeded my expectations!
Cons: My husband and I stayed in the hotel 5 nights. Our room was not cleaned on one of the days, and (2) we lost sleep on another night because our room was surrounded by 3 rooms that were rented out to a 2-nite bachelorette. We changed rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel and  the front desk person took good care of me. Also hotel employee with restaurant.
Cons: No. Everything was on point.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean good food comfortable bed perfect location for my business
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very clean like previous reviews stated. Breakfast was good actually better than Hampton Inn.
Cons: So to start off with it took 30 minutes to check into my room, literally. Whenever you book through a 3rd party, apparently that’s a problem. It took the girl at the front desk 15 minutes to keep trying different things calling a coworker which then they had a conversation in another language and then mischarging me and making me sign all this paperwork. I booked the room for $94 dollars online then it became $125 by the time I signed. At Hampton Inn I was in and out in less than 3 minutes all they had to do was take my CC and ID, give me my room key and I was on my way. Second problem is once you get to the room you discover that they have taken out the window unit for AC/ heat now it’s hooked up to a thermostat on the wall which can control the heat or cool but not to your preferred temperature you can’t even control the fan. For someone who likes it cool and sleeps by the fan sounds at night this was a huge problem. Next problem was the hot water or ,lack of,in the shower. BTW I took a shower at 11 pm at night I didn’t think I would run into this issue.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: With incentives we shall return Thx.
Cons: N/A
7.2 Good
Pros: Nice hotel and good value. Convenient to University of Maryland.
7.6 Good

Pros: Friendly Staff
Cons: We turned the heat down to 65 in the room and it took 2 hours to get close. The swimming area was locked.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed is so cozy. Breakfast is variously served day by day and the options are more than expected. Costco is near.
1.0 Poor
Pros: nothing
Cons: The hotel was not clean. Roaches roaming around and ventilation is nonexistent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is right off the highway. I LOVE hotel employee who works the front desk. All-time favorite desk clerk. I frequent this hotel when traveling and I always ask for hotel employee. He is the BEST.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was clean, good breakfast, everyone was friendly amd our room was cleaned and restocked with shampoo...etc in a timely manner.
Cons: It was a little weird getting into the parking lot with the divider on rt. 1. You had to turn into lot before the hotel. If yoh weren’t aware you would have to make a u turn and sit at the light and traffic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is awesome. Breakfast was great.
Cons: The pool is closed permanently. The exercise equipment is located with your back to the door.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was excellent! Facility was clean!
5.8 Okay
Cons: I paid for a room with spa tub and after being charged the full amount of the stay I was informed there was no spa tubs at the property! Highly disappointing! I could have also have gotten a lot better for the price being as though I paid extra for something that wasn't there
6.0 Good
Pros: The housekeepers and some of the clerks were very friendly. One front desk woman was nice, but she did make me feel as if I was irritating her. But she was nice. It was just a vibe I got. The breakfast was good. The hotel and the room was clean. Except the comforter
Cons: We put a request to see if we could check in early. Never heard anything back. Then find out at 12 that the jacuzzi wasn't working and they stuck us in another room. I feel like the jacuzzi didn't randomly stop working. There was another family already in that room that we had to wait on to check out. They would've known it wasn't working and could've given us prior notice. I don't think our comforter has been washed either there were stains in the folds we had noticed and stench of B.O on some areas.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: The staff was not helpful with a large group of very loud guests who were running up and down halls until midnight. When I asked for help the staff member was reluctant and acted like I was the one being unreasonable. It was midnight! Breakfast food ran out 50 min before ending time and they said they would not put out more food. They ended up putting a little more out.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: A very good breakfast was included. Eggs, meat, breads and waffle. The beds were really comfortable. I had the best sleep!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Yes small I'm at the great green peppers and onion but the scrambled eggs they're fluffy but I wonder if they powdered

1.0 Poor
Pros: I usually don't review hotels but I need to forewarn other travelers of this place.

Cons: Bed bugs I have pictures of my bites.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff was great! My wife left her phone outside and one of the staff found us and returned the phone.
Cons: The smell! It smelled like mold!
4.0 Okay
Pros: The friendly staff and the location. I asked for a first-floor room and got it. I've made similar requests at other motels that were not honored, so I was pleased to get what I asked for. The night manager was friendly and efficient. The property is right next door to a 24-hr diner, which was convenient for arriving late at night and needing a meal.
Cons: The building and furnishings look like they haven't been upgraded or renewed for forty years. The housekeeping staff were friendly and did a good job, but no amount of effort on their part is ever going to make the place look clean because things are just worn out. My key card stopped functioning the second day, but since we were leaving, it wasn't a big problem. Unless the property is renovated, I think I will try to find another place to stay the next time I'm in CP if I can afford to spend a little more.

Pros: Everything was in great condition, our room was just hot all night so we didn’t sleep well.
Cons: Room was too hot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was wonderful, it was hot and very tasty. I had the ricotta pancakes! Excellent. The restaurant Via Sophia offers authentic Italian cuisine. Also, having a doorman added an extra level of comfort.
Cons: As far as the size of the room is concerned, we could have used a little more room, and not having access to a microwave was a little inconvenient. However, neither of these issues would be show stoppers when we return!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Only had one cocktail at the bar but it was good and they had a nice menu. The location was nice and easy enough to walk or take the bus to other areas of the city.
Cons: The bathroom sink was a little small and I wish it had more counter space for two people. The empty fridge was located in the dresser under the tv and I accidentally took items out of the mini bar thinking I had to make space and was charged for them at checkout. The charges were removed when I explained the situation.

Pros: Bellmen were great. Good location
Cons: Room was very smelly and AC wasn't working.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality and locAtion
Cons: The room was a tad bit congested or smaller than expected.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: A $25 amenities charge for 2 bottles of water, a glass of cheap wine, and coffee/tea makings in the room is over the top. They've lost my business despite the convenience of the location.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Shower was clogged..... 4 inches of water overflowing in the stall!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: All fabulous
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Bike and weight equipment in gym is broken and not functional.
6.0 Good
Pros: location. The lady I talked with during check in was unfriendly, but the lady I talked with Saturday and when we checked out was very nice.
Cons: They put me in a handicapped room, with a huge shower that the water went everywher they said I would get two bottles of water a day the first day we got big bottles of water, the next day we got two minnie bottles of water the next two we didnt get any.
6.0 Good
Pros: Great location in the area off DC that I wanted to stay.
Cons: Internet was spotty. TV reception also spotty. The Market place was a rip off. $4 for a can of diet soda.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice big room with a nice view. Old school in feel but we liked that.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Everything was excellent except the walls dividing rooms were very thin and there were doors adjoining the neighboring rooms (they were locked of course), which lead to noise and odor pollution from neighboring rooms.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Easy check in and check out. Location.
Cons: Dirty linens found in our room from previous guest. Staff like the valet and market cashiers were very curt and at times just plain rude.
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was pricey for the options offered. Plenty of near-by cafes and restaurants serving better breakfast options at better prices. I do, however, like the Pistacchio dessert at The Sally, the hotel's restaurant. It was delicious! The free flow of bottled water and coffee and tea all day is much appreciated. The staff members were mostly friendly, some not so much but most were courteous, helpful, pleasant and very very nice. The doorman/guy at the lobby who helped me call for taxis multiple times was VERY NICE. He also told the taxi drivers the best routes to get to my destinations. The taxi drivers knew him, one told me that he has been working for the hotel for 30+ years! He is the epitome of what an excellent service is all about, he truly represented a staff member at a classic, elegant establishment like The Fairfax is. Also the staff at the check-in/check-out desk (a young lady), she was efficient, fast, courteous and a problem-solver. I had issues with my internet connection and she was able to find a solution fast. These particular two staff members really what would make me want to return to The Fairfax next time I'm in D.C. The gym was great for a hotel. The weight lifting and cardio equipments were sufficient. I exercise a lot and appreciated the quality of the gym facility at this hotel.
Cons: The furnice/heater in my room was so loud! It kept me from sleeping soundly. The interior/decor/vibe of the room I was staying in was too dated for my taste.
