10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice old building in quiet town, with a few restaurant choices in walking distance. Free parking in an empty plot of land.
Cons: The hotel was full with two busses of seniors. This wasn't really a problem with some patience navigating the lobby, but the breakfast was overcrowded, and it was the lowest quality full english breakfast I have ever been served. Stuff had clearly been standing under a heating lamp for over an hour.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were helpful. Breakfast staff courteous.
Cons: Room on the road, was noisy. Room was tired with wall paper peeling in places. Scuffs on the wall. Only 1 double socket in a large room! Had to ask for glasses for juice, which wasn't topped up. Cereal bowls not topped up either. Tables not cleared as residents left, which meant a late second sitting for some residents. Just niggly things, but enough for us to not stay again.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Grand interior, sea views and old worldy feel.
Cons: Shower was a little weak.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a beutiful old country house. It's warm, comfortable and very clean with good food and local beers. Great views (of the Dwyfor River estuary and the Cardigan Bay/Cambrian coast) and superb walks - various routs to Criccieth, the woodsalong the river in Llanystumdwy and close to many other locations. But it's the staff (all of them) made the stay what it was - fantastic! Thanks to Dylan and his colleagues.
Cons: Wifi - it was a bit of pot-luck. It came and went with the tide of the sea and there is very little 4G (or for that, 3G, 2G or even "G") mobile network. But you know, that is not necessarily a bad thing - some peace and quiet is a valuable commodity! Oh, and the wine by the glass selection could be improved upon!!

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Friendly staff and a nice breakfast. Lovely location.
Cons: Freezing cold room with one smelly, dirty blanket in the cupboard. Dirty room with tired, water stained and hanging wall paper. Cob webs and spiders everywhere. Dirty carpets throughout and bed throws again stained and dirty, same as bedsheets. Broken TV remote and broken TV. No kettle in room. Shower didn't drain properly due to someone else's hair being in there. No bin in the room or any mirror other than the small one in the bathroom. No food served in the afternoon and no beer available in the bar, bottled or otherwise as per the sign left on the bar. Overall, a disappointing hotel.

Pros: Breakfast well cooked, promptly served, ample portions. Very central and convenient location. Good sized private car parking. Unfailingly friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Toilet seat wouldn't stay up! Stairs were quite narrow and steep, would have been difficult if I'd brought heavy luggage. Pros: came here for a 2 night break with my husband, The hotel was amazing, all the staff really friendly The beds were really comfy the room was a bit on the small side but didn't bother us, there's a kettle in the room with all tea coffee facilities also got a hairdryer in the room. The breakfast in the morning was lovely, there's a good choice from a full Welsh breakfast to lighter choices also cereals and juices. The hotel also has onsite parking which is always a bonus. Central location and definitely recommend a trip to portmeririon village about 1 mile away.
Cons: There was nothing not to like
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all lovely and helpful. The room was clean, well equipped and spacious. The bar food was lovely - even during the quiet winter period they still paid attention to the presentation. The chocolate brownie was sooo nice! Breakfast was also very good, plenty of choice, cooked to order. Plenty of cereal/yogurts etc if you didnt want a cooked breakfast. 4 choices of fruit juice
Cons: The wi-fi wasn't working but to their credit they advised this as soon as I arrived and are in the process of having it sorted so wasn't too much of an issue
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I've stayed here many times and it has always been pleasant, this time was no exception. The hotel itself is in a nice building and well located between the mainline railway station and the town centre. This time I stayed in one of the patio rooms at the back which are actually easier to get in and out of if, like me, you're out late at night, as you can get in directly from the car park. The room was warm and comfy on a cold and wet Welsh weekend, although if you do stay in one of these be aware that the covered patio area is a self-proclaimed 'echo chamber' and whilst quiet (few other residents in January!) you could really tell when it was raining from the noise! All in all it was another nice stay here with friendly staff - I'd recommend this as a good place to stay in.
Cons: The only thing that could have been a little better is that there was no armchair in my room, which would have been quite handy for a more comfortable rest in the room when not out and about (although it would reduce the space in the room, and to be fair I wasn't in there a lot to have used it much). Also, the breakfasts used to be served differently - everything used to be on a round plate like a normal full mixed breakfast - but now it looks a bit compartmentalised with every item separate on a long rectangular plate. The food was still good but it felt almost like trying to look posher than it needed to be?
7.0 Good
Cons: No view from window of room
