Relaxed atmosphere, view, facilities, food Dogs left in rooms unattended
Hotel was very comfortable and in a superb location.
It was quiet and all the staff were very pleasant and obliging. The indoor swimming pool was excellent as it was a blustery and rainy afternoon. Breakfast was very well cooked and well presented. Pity there weren't more visitors like ourselves but that wasn't their fault. We were sad that the willing staff were not being stretched to deliver to lots of people.
Friendly staff, good food served by spendid staff. We may have been unlucky, but we did get a quite small double room, compared with our friends who travelled with us
Views and laid back feeling Gym needs updating not enough equipment e.g free weights etc
The facilities, the food, the surroundings and ease of parking; plus ,not too far from nearby towns. Nothing significant.
the location and the setting of the hotel was good we had evening meal in the restaurant we felt rushed and uncomfortable. the staff were rushing around us and clearing up and setting the tables for breakfast before we had finished eating.
Relaxed atmosphere Standard of food not to good and not very warm either.Otherwise all was ok
Beautiful cliff top location with lovely grounds and pool, good breakfast, staff were very helpful and polite, No
The view and it had gym few broken items in room and hallways were a bit smelly. Not enough parking
very good no
Restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Hotel staff very polite and helpful. No complaints whatsoever. Value for money.
location. insufficient parking spaces.
peace and quiet.not harassed by anyone. parking is a bit tight and could do with a few more spaces.
Getting a two bedroomed suite for the price of a single room in comparable hotels/ Excellent views - nice public areas, pool and spa facilities Lift was very small and slow.
The room and the hotel staff The restaurant
the food was bad . the bar wasnt open when advertized
Location great. Spacious room. Excellent breakfast. On the whole most of the staff were friendly except the bar maid who seemed in a permanent grump. Needs urgent updating throughtout hotel. Need to fix lift especially when you have a baby to carry to the top floor.
When we stayed there the weather was very heavy rain. The Royal Beacon offers in addition to bar snacks etc they have two fabulous restaurants within the building offering fine dining or Italian. Absolutely wonderful. I couldnt figure out how to shut of the glaring blue standby light on the flat screen tv in the bedroom
A very comfortable hotel in an excellent location. The staff were extremely nice and resolved a samll issue I had very quickly and entirely to my satisfaction.
Excellent staff who went to extra mile - early check in, booked taxi etc. Breakfast selection was limited for non-cooked breakfast eaters!
We enjoyed the sea view and the room was comfortable and welcoming. THe brakfast was a great start to the day. Unfortunately on arrival there was no record of our reservation but luckily there were rooms available at the hotel.
Relaxing, pleasant staff with good service, food in both restaurants was excellent and good value. All round ideal for a weekend break. Parking could well be a problem at popular times.
Everything, from the time we arrived on the Friday until we left on the Monday morning was really lovely, the place the staff the food. Cannot fault anything. Hope to go back in the future.
The room was very nice and clean, with tea/coffe making facilities and we were able to take our dog with us instead of leaving her in the kennels. The hotel mainly caters for blind people and is very well set up for that. The grounds are lovely and great for walking the dog or having a stroll. Friendly staff, who, although we didn't need anything during our visit, appeared to be very helpful to people who needed assistance. There is plenty of car parking and the hotel is just a few minutes from the beach and town. Nothing much to say about what we didn't like, the only thing for us would be that the hotel appears to be oriented towards the older age group and although we are in our 50s, it seemed to old for us.
Very clean; comfortable (if narrow) bed in twin room. Food very average.
Comfortable rooms and beds, helful staff Breakfast was too late for business people. Shower too powerful, ended up with a swimming pool in bathroom. Breakfast too early for business guests. Shower too powerful, ended up with a swimmimg pool in bathroom
Location of Hotel close to town centre, staff friendliness & service. Facilities in hotel good, on site parking ample, gardens looked lovely (shame it was freezing) restaurant service/food good. Staff excellent left camera at hotel whom immediately called to inform us giving time to come back and collect before we got to far (on our way to a wedding) Brilliant service
the pleasantness of all the staff, catering specially for the sight impaired, Nothing is too much trouble, they all welcome you as one of the family. the bed while firm could have used a more comfortable cover especially for the older guests such as us.
The staff where all friendly and helpful Menu needs improving
staff very friendly always made sure your welcome--nothing to much trouble , even prin ting a AAroute map to Exmoor evening food inclueded new potatoes with every meal on our stay--even wit sauages and gammon (should have been mash / chips)
Location was good for going into the town. Was unaware from the site that this was a hotel for the blind
Excellent room, views, parking, proximity of town. Swimming pool opening times.
A very dog friendly hotel with dog bed plus two stainless steel dog bowls in the room. Close to the town centre with a good view from the room of the bay food up to three star standard with helpful staff It was impossible to lay back in the bath for a soak because the wall behind the bath was at an angle so you were unable to put your head all the way back.
Very nice family, superb breakfast, spotlessly clean No day room for guests to mix
Easy to find, good parking, friendly welcome and nice clean, fresh and well equipped room. Downstairs room was noisy with other guests using stairs.
Lovely place, very cosy, beautiful room, great view on the sea, very stylish common areas, very friendly staff, clean, fantastic breakfast, great value for money. The hotel is relatively close to the main road, hence you can hear cars/buses, but this definitely wasn't a show stopper and I will certainly visit the hotel again.
Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms and convenient location
Very friendly host, go out of way to make our stay comfortable.
Made us feel very welcome.
Welcoming owner & good explanation of facilities(iron & I. Board) & room. Good breakfast. Friendly family run b&B. Unusual & attractive old building with a ground floor room; upstairs rooms might be difficult if disabled or elderly, narrow, steep stairs. Newly fitted out bathroom with bath & over bath shower.
Very warm welome and helpfulness, excellent breakfast, interesting accommodation. Nothing at all
Very friendly and welcoming. Good breakfast, nicely served. Although details of what to do in the event of fire were in the guest information book, in the event of an emergency one would not have time to study this. I would therefore suggest that a printed card giving this information should be affixed to the inside of the bedroom door. We run a b & b ourselves and the aa have insisted we do this including information on how to contact the proprietors in the event of a medical emergency.
The location of the hotel and the friendly staff. It would help if they had a menu for breakfast.
Good sized room. Good food. Would be nice to have fresh milk for tea and coffee in room.
Standard of cleanliness and comfort of bedrooms. Tinned tomatos at breakfast, I feel that fresh tomatos would have raised the meal from good to very good.
We arrived to a really good welcome. Room was clean and comfortable and we had a good breakfast
staff were really friendly and breakfast was good compared to travellodges etc the room was not comparable for the price
Very friendly staff, loved breakfast.A very comfortable bed. The room was quite small and dated. The small electric fan heater in the bathroom did not work. We were told we had a good view from our room but the only things we could see was the car park area and the building s next door.
Booked a double room and were given room 23 with twin beds, plus it smelled strongly of room/carpet freshener + was rather shabby. We pointed out the error, the hotel did everything to find us a twin room in which the beds could be put together. Rooms 23 and 21; Breakfast wasn't brilliant food quality, but at least nicely presented and the waiters were friendly. The sprays used to perfume the rooms are ghastly and we found it difficult to sleep with the smell; spray made the carpet go funny.
