Very nice staff, but I really loved the elevator and fan in the room...the little things.
Not the hotel's fault, it's at every UK hotel I've been to, but a regular electrical outlet in the bathroom would be nice.
Location was fantastic. Rooms had beds and pillows more luxurious than most all 4 star hotels I stay in. Staff were great! I'd tell anyone visiting Edinburgh that this is THE place to stay.
Location is great.
Asked the staff to have a taxi waiting for me to go to the airport at 1500. The staff lied saying 'they had ordered it please sit and wait'. They nevered called and at 1530 I had to get a manager to call. The cab showed 2 min later. Almost missed flight.
Although our room was small it was compact and well-lit. The design anticipates a guest's needs. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The staff was informative, friendly, and professional. The restaurant offers an excellent breakfast although at night the noise made conversation quite difficult. Advice for travelers to Edinburgh, especially if you are there on a weekend: dinner reservations: you'll need them if you want to eat. The Grassmarket, where the Apex is located, is thick with people. Wear sensible shoes.
I liked the centralized location for restaurants and the highlights of Edinburgh I wanted to visit. I also liked the cookies. It was clean, modern, and convenient and the staff was friendly and efficient.
This is a grievance not so much about the hotel but the location. It was a schlepp from the nearest bus station and another schlepp to the train station where we departed. Advice to others: get a taxi, there isn't a shuttle.
The Grassmarket is the hub of Edinburgh’s Old Town and that’s where you’ll find the Apex City of Edinburgh Hotel, looking up to Castle Rock and Edinburgh Castle, the backdrop of the Military Tattoo. You can walk anywhere in the city centre from here and it’s exceptionally convenient for the transport links at Waverley Train Station, buses around the city and Old Town attractions. The high street shops of Princes Street and George Street are just a short walk away and you’ll be just a 10 minute walk from The King’s Theatre or The Festival Theatre.
The friendly smile that welcomes you at check-in will become a regular feature during your stay. There’s always someone on hand to help make your stay unique and memorable. From the local advice that’ll help you plan your day to a relaxing dinner or drinks served in Agua Restaurant & Bar, you’ll be well looked after from start to finish.
