Location was ideal - 5 minutes from centre. You could also get onto the city walls from outside the hotel. Would definitely visit again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location for access to centre of Chester, and well worth a walk along the walls to nearby Telford's Warehouse bar and restaurant. Reception/ bar facilities at hotel rudimentary, but the apartment style room was spacious and well fitted out. Good value overall.
Cons: Car parking at hotel limited - public car parks nearby, but through some quirk of timing I got charged for 2 days parking when I was only in fact parked for around 12 hours - a minor irritation, but annoying even so.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good location for the city centre, quiet location, pleasant staff and parking.
Cons: Being told our room was ready but if we wanted to check in early it would cost £10 extra. We have never been asked for an aditional payment when our room has been ready in the past. Rooms not as good as the pictures and quite office like somehow.

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, tasty, varied breakfast and homely, smartly decorated room. One of the nicest B&Bs I have stayed in for comfort and good facilities.
Cons: A little way out of the city but excellent public transport right to the doorstep so it wasn't a big problem. Wifi fine but only worked in part of my top floor room. Often couldn't get a signal in bed.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Enjoyed location and comfort of room facilities
Cons: We both felt the hotelier attitude was arrogant and rude in respect of food choice. eg overdone bacon .... breakfast presented as congealed and had been waiting around within kitchen area to be presented for service. When requesting an alternative method of cooking for breakfast items this was initially disregarded to avail the outcome was not really having a choice as a paying guest.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hosts
Cons: Friendly b&b. Excellent hosts, great location.

Free parking to rear of property. Busy couple of streets just round the corner with pubs and restaurant/bars - particularly recommend Shanghai Chinese restaurant 50yds across the road from Ba Ba.
Cons: Room was top flight and had a dodgy door handle (room 4) which took a while to work out how to set the catch so that it auto locked behind us. Not keen on the external bathroom which was along the corridor - had to remember to take the key every visit.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice breakfast. Single room ok but couldn't see the TV from the bed. Step in the middle of the room could be a problem.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel in a great location. Would definitely use this hotel again.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was comfortable. The location was excellent.
Cons: The staff were very rude and unhelpful. Especially Michel Paszto who was working on the bar in the evening. He insulted us and was not professional at all, not what we would expect for the amount we paid to stay at the hotel. There were snacks in the room, but no sign to say that they were not complimentary and as a result we got charged £2.50 for a bag of crisps and £3.50 for some nuts. We also contacted the hotel prior to our arrival and explained we have a disabled parking blue badge and asked the best location to park our vehicle for free. We were told that we could make use of the valet parking at the hotel. Upon check out we then find out there was a £10 charge even for disabled guests, we disputed this based on the information we got told before we arrived. Fortunately they agreed as a gesture of goodwill that the charge would be waived.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location slap bang in the heart of the shopping district of Chester. Stayed here several times for the location. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Parking in the multi-storey to the rear of the hotel, with access to the hotel.

Pros: Sumptuous accommodation, excellent food and beer, and very welcoming staff. We placed our order for dinner over the phone, and they didn't rush us at all when we finally got there at 9.10pm.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent, room was lovely with great views.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoy staying at the Pheasant Inn
Cons: We have stayed at this inn quite a few times now, unfortunately todays breakfast wasn't as good as usual. The breakfast took ages to be served and when it was it looked as though it was over cooked OR been standing around for a while before being served. The tables hadn't been cleared after guests had finished and left the breakfast room and the self select area needed to be replenished with bowls.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The woman that did our kong ropes activity was amazing! She was so helpful and made us feel as ease. Abbie my therapist was incredible, she was so lovely and professional. There was a gentleman that passed us after the kong ropes on a buggy that gave us a lift in the rain which was lovely. And the cleaners we came across were all so friendly and helpful.
Cons: I felt that although there were a few members of staff that were great, many of the staff were rude or unhelpful. Reception were great at check in and check out, but when we would pass throughout the day they would lift their head to see who it was then put it back down. Breakfast staff, the young staff are a credit, very friendly and helpful. The last day we were told to find a table when on other days we had been shown to a table, we weren't offered tea or coffee either, wouldn't have been a big deal but it was just a big difference from previous mornings. Spa, we booked treatments one day, and upon arrival the woman was delightful and advised when we came out from our swim we'd be shown upstairs. However, it was a different woman on the desk by the time we came out, I had to ask again and was told to just go upstairs, when we went upstairs there was a woman there who was more interested in tidying up than making sure we were okay, again we had to ask where to go after filling out our consultation forms standing. I just felt there was a big difference in customer service standards throughout the staff.

Pros: We loved the individual style and quirkiness of the hotel. It is also in a fantastic location for with easy access to the centre.
Cons: They had signs in the undercover area in garden bar saying no smoking and there were lots of people smoking, which made it very unpleasant for us. The hotel is lovely and staff were excellent, it just lacks a spa area. I feel for £219.00 there should be spa facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing. We had our wedding here on the Sunday 18 August from start to finish Rebecca the wedding coordinator was calm professional but more importantly a lovely lovely person. The hotel the staff the atmosphere of this place is amazing the staff cannot do enough for you and deserve the credit. All our guests absolutely loved the hotel and the rooms they were staying in so quirky all in their own little way. Food is amazing at oddfellows I have stayed previously to our wedding and had breakfast an afternoon tea and dinner at the restaurant all delicious. I can’t wait to return for a stay and most of our guests said the same. Brilliant location for a bit of Chester shopping, carpark round the corner and a discount from the hotel for the carpark when you leave. Thank you so much oddfellows for making mine and Lee’s day so special that we will never forget!

Pros: breakfast was good , property was a little far out from city centre for me
Cons: hard to say anything the property itself could improve on
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Service, bar, food and comfort. Location is very convenient. We plan to come again.
Cons: Internet could be faster but otherwise it was 10/10 on all counts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before and it is a really nice hotel, friendly staff good food and comfortable, in all a great 2 night break.

Pros: Style and surroundings
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent (and included!). Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The bedroom and bathroom were very well appointed and very clean. Parking was convenient and the hotel is located at walking distance from the city centre.
Cons: The pub is a "lively" venue, with large numbers of patrons until late in the evening. Particularly during the bank holiday weekend it was difficult to get much peace and quiet to sleep from noise, exacerbated by needing to keep the window open due to excessive heat. The access to the rooms is adjacent to the glass clearing point, giving my return to the bedroom a "stale beer" smell. Guests were not rowdy or unpleasant, just enjoying themselves!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent, Room not huge but very comfortable and bed very comfy. Having a good bar was great and the hosts were lovely.

7.5 Good
Pros: Shower and bathroom amazing. Comfy bed. Pub is lovely.
Cons: The bedroom (room 12) was extremely hot as window only opened a few inches. A fan was provided but it was like sleeping in an oven. The pub grounds could have done with mowing. Lots of wasps.

Pros: Chloe was very helpful & pleasant member of staff. Location was excellent for walking into Chester.
Cons: Temperamental shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and proffessional staff. Great property in a lovely location. Excellent meals. Very quiet country side location. Good parking. The Included breakfast was adequate and very nicely presented with an option to pay extra for a fully cooked version. I would not hesitate to recommend. Accommodation is on the first floor and in a lovely annexe at the rear. Note if disabled the stairs in the main building are steep and their is no lift. But the annex is very accessible. And comfortable.
Cons: I had no dislikes whatsoever.
7.5 Good
Pros: The food and atmosphere is really nice and it's in such a lovely location
Cons: Temperature in the rooms over night was unbearable. Small fan blowing hot air, no Aircon and literally did not get a wink of sleep. Feeling absolutely exhausted today. Had to get up and get cool showers throughout the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location for the nice Canal tow path walk into the centre of Chester plus our room was excellent and clean, evening meals were great and the complimentary breakfast was more than we had expected plus friendly staff especially the lady who managed the breakfast area. Would we go again to stay definitely.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was very good and served hot, the location of the hotel was very central to Chester city centre, the staff are all very friendly and gave excellent service.
Cons: the shower although very clean didn't have much power to the water.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location for any City based activity in Chester, right near a fine selection of bars and restaurants and just next to the main shopping areas, city walls and river. The olde world charm of this authentic 17th century hotel is undeniable, it has instant atmosphere, live music great breakfast
Cons: The en-suite shower was barely a trickle, not only for us but for our friends in the adjoining room; if you were staying a few days this could be a really turn off. Overall the room was warm and comfy though but the hotel really needs to install shower pumps to fix this issue

10.0 Excellent
Pros: When booking and entering the property the staff were brilliant. Can’t fault them at all!
7.9 Good
Pros: Super clean and warm
Cons: No one at reception before 4 to leave your bags
7.1 Good
Pros: It's location was brilliant, very near to railway station, and buses. Handy when going to the Chester Zoo,the X8, is two minutes walk away. Their kitchen is immuculate, roomy and plenty gadgets to help you with self-catering meals. Free tea and coffee, jam and bread. The biggest TV I have ever seen, I was trying to fit. It in my case, but I think they would have missed it. Also a DVD player, plus 3D effect to boot. Nice tables and chairs to eat off,as well as an outside yard to.. fully enclosed. If I owned this place with its brilliant location,it would be a gold mine. They also have a security system, where you type in a featured code, for front and inside doors. No need to hunt for light switches either, movement activated. Bathroom/shower was spotless yet very outdated. I would stay again, but I just think I'd get a better deal nearby. The beds were comfy if only their duvets were more modern etc.
Cons: Room a bit dated, floor creeked, and PowerPoint lacking only one available in the far away wall, not near bed. No TV in room either. Very noisy at night from inconsiderate guests. The just let their doors bang shut plus conversing with eachother in hallway. Room on arrival was smelling of sweaty feet odours. I paid £30,which was pricey. , compared to nearby hotels which included ensuite facilities. It's a shame, for the place has potential to be a nice guest house,if they spent some money on it

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building, beautiful room. So clean and perfectly presented. Tastefully decorated
Cons: Nothing to not like, it’s on the main road but it wasn’t too noisy.
4.2 Okay
Pros: It had parking available
Cons: We had early check in 2pm we got there and the key that was left on the window for us wouldnt even open... we had to go for food and return 6pm when we had instructions for a safety box with a master key as there was no staff in the hotel between these times. Once we got in after a very long journey to take a quick nap a staff member just opened our door without permission. To top this off we had a note saying breakfast wasnt available this week, no apology and not ideal as we had the zoo early that morning. Lastly the facilities in the room werent up to scratch as the shower wouldnt even turn on. Dont expect any of this from a hotel rated so highly, very disappointed and there was no staff member to greet us or thank us for our stay we just had to leave the key in the doorway
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent for our first family visit to Chester Zoo no more than a 5 minute drive. We then went on to Cheshire Oaks on day 2 and again within 10 minutes we were there and also closely located to the motorway. After a long day at the Zoo (including travel from home location) we needed something quick to eat and would recommend the Hungry Horse which is a step across the road and good value for money and entertainment too. We would certainly return and would try other rooms. Our room was very modern and had all facilities needed for a night away (or more) especially the little touches such as sofa for relaxing and lovely Laura Ashley throws
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, very friendly owners and excellent value for money.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room fab, my smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were lovely.
Cons: The long walk in to town.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful, very big, the bed was lovely and so darn comfortable! And the bathroom was also wonderful, nice spaceous, clean, good working shower and travel sized gel and shampoo
Cons: Breakfast was okay, we didn't expect to pay an extra £7, we thought it was included, however it's only £7. We chose upon arrival, a full English, however in morning we saw a menu board with different options we wanted instead, but we had to stay with full English as we chose that when we got there, we couldn't change our options, I think it would have be best suited to choose in morning:) Full English included, 1 egg, 1 bacon, 1 sausage, 1 hash brown, 1 tomato and beans. Was nice, and there was plenty selection of drinks and fruits.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy location just out of Chester. Clean room comfy beds bathroom was fine. Parking was ok if you were able to get a spot but plenty of parking on the road
Cons: No problems everything was fine
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and welcoming hosts, breakfast was lovely and the room was perfect! Will definitely be staying here again
Cons: Absolutely nothing! It was all lovely Thank you so much!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, spacious room with excellent facilities.
Cons: Price still relatively expensive for a midweek stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a traditional setting with a very modern feel. Our room was beyond gorgeous, just perfect. Customer service is next to none! We needed a late checkout (17:00 - 18:00) and although their late checkout policy is only till 12:00, the General Manager honoured the request as a goodwill gesture with literally zero fuss. We had afternoon tea on arrival, which was 10/10, followed by dinner in the newly refurbished Palm Court restaurant, which was amazing. Breakfast also didn’t disappoint - there was a good selection. We ended our 2 night stay with a treatment at the Spa by Kasia - Michelle gave me the best full body massage I’ve ever had!
Cons: Absolutely nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Arrived early hours of morning and it was great to know you can still check in just as efficiently!
Cons: All excellent
7.1 Good
Pros: Location & first impressions, friendly staff, room decor and fittings, quality of hotel maintenance and housekeeping, food choice and ambience of main restaurant, ample on-site parking
Cons: Bed very hard & uncomfortable, Room heating / cooling system dated, bathroom layout unpractical, dog barking in room directly opposite, early dog walkers letting doors slam, 4 dogs in restaurant - barking, bitten by insects within hotel - probably pet related, swimming pool showers / changing rooms very dated and penned-in,
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quality of food was excellent.
Cons: Service in Restaurant was slow initially, we were left 20mins on the sofa without being asked what we wanted to drink. Service at the table was very good though.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly an helpful staff. Good food.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The ambience when we arrived at the hotel
Cons: The whole weekend from start to finish .Treated appallingly by staff after an extremely horrendous attack by an intruder in the hotel at a family wedding/event . My family were at risk. Saddened by the compassion from staff at reception and management the next day . Ben the night magager and first aider / night bar manager were excellent on the evening of the incident . Receptionists, discusting towards us the following day, Laura was vile, they need in house training towards guests . Security needed at this hotel if management can’t provide this service . Compassion and Security is something they urgently need to look at.
