Pros: The staff at Ryad Alya was wonderful. Each staff member was extremely kind, helpful, and sweet. We had a delicious dinner at the riad one evening and both breakfasts were great as well. The rooms were very comfortable and clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ryad Alya is probably one of the best accommodations in Fès! From arrival to departure, we enjoyed every moment there. Especially Ahlam, Youssna and Ismail have been the kindest hosts we've met during our whole morocco-trip! They always made sure we've got everything we need. They were always smiling and nice to chat with. Also the rooftop dinner was delicious and exceeded our expectations. Can't recommend this place enough! If I'm ever coming back to Fès, this would be my first choice.
Cons: Nothing! :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful stay at Riad Alya. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. Most of all - the staff was so welcoming and accommodating - doing everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. We ate at the riad several times and the food was spectacular. Perfect location as well - on the edge of the medina - so it is easy to access from outside and inside the old city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved every single thing about this place. Located near to the medina, nice food, beautiful room and lovely staff. If I have a chance to return to Fes I'm definitely staying at Riad Alya.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very beautiful property. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff were very thoughtful and managed to pack a beautiful breakfast even though I left very early in the morning. The Riad is very close to Place Batha and easily accessible to many sights in Fes

Pros: Riad was amazing, so clean and staff were so friendly and accomadating, especially Simon he could not have been more helpful with information and organising a trip to the blue city, would highly recommend staying here, very comfortable and peaceful ambiance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the most wonderful stay at this riad! We got information about where to park and how to find the way to the riad. It’s not easy to find a riad in fes, but this one was already marked on the streets so you could’t get it wrong. Also the communication was very fast and clear. We immediately got tea and cookies when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the best breakfast and the seasonal juice was amazing! Simon really made us feel like we were home in the riad. We had a nice chat and he brought us tea by the pool. He made sure we didn’t miss anything! The room was great and we even got an update to a more expensive room. Everything is cleaned every day so it was very clean. The room also has everything you need. It even has a jacuzzi on the terras! You also have a great view over the city from the rooftop. The rooms are as in the pictures. An amazing place to get away from the busy old medina. The riad is just a few minutes away from the most known places in Fes like the blue gate. We didn’t have dinner at the riad, but we saw other people having dinner and the food looked really good! If we return to Fes, we will also return to this riad and we will recommend it to other people.
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff very kind and accommodating. The riad was quiet and peaceful and I rarely saw anyone else there. My room was well-decorated, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Bed was large and comfortable with good quality bedding.
Cons: Small thing, but perhaps the bathroom could be refreshed with a bath or new shower. I wasn't able to close the shutter in the bathroom so it jutted into the shower. I would have liked the option of a more Moroccan breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything the moment I entered the Riad and the hospitality of Hussain To our royal suit and the terrace outside Everything was just perfect
Cons: Breakfast was decent Wish they change the shower at the royal suite The pool was so cold wish there was a heating system
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location inside the old Medina. Stunning riad, impeccable service, good breakfast. The stuff goes out of the way to help it’s guests.

We were very well cared of and had a tailor made service, the staff was able to be very flexible to each of our wishes. The location is great, it's quiet and the breakfast excellent. We definitely recommend this place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Definite is the best hotel in Fez I am a worldwide traveler and always travel around the world and Riad Braya is the best service hotel i stay in my 20 days trips in Morocco , I am so happy to meet the staff Simon and Muhammad they provided the best hospitality during the two days of my stay . Simon is a very cheerful and strong person he need to run up and down in the Raid to serve the breakfast or dinner in the terrace all time and the terrace is a bit high for everyday need to go up and down i find is it a very tried job and sometimes only him is on duty but he still keep smiling all time to fulfill his job well. i Love to talk to them and they are very kind people to help me in my stay even my birthday is amazing arranging to upgrade me a room and a beautiful birthday cake to me. I am so happy for two of the best staff they are really my friend in Fez and help me a lot of feeling safe and comfortable in Fez. Pros: So beautiful- like a palace but intimate at the same time. Very personal service

Cons: Nothing special
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Immaculate hotel. Stunning Riad. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location.
Cons: They did not provide a cot for our baby despite the fact we requested one before our arrival and there was no baby chair at all so having breakfast was difficult for us. No maps provided at reception.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice decoration! Super good and warm staff. Nice food. Unique bath. Great location and parking. Very happy about it.
Cons: If has pool or some leisure will be great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Riad, great food, excellent staff! Omar was a great host - he made the stay even more comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and spacious rooms, delicious food, extremely friendly staff (especially Omar), perfect atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay very much!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The courtyard and architecture/decor is absolutely stunning. Intricate tiling, gentle bird sounds, beautiful lush greenery and little knick-knack displays along the walkways. We had dinner at the riad, and it was by far one of our favourite meals.
Cons: We were quite happy with everything. It's located in a quiet neighbourhood which was lovely. It's close to the road so you don't have to carry your suitcases far. However, because the streets of Fez don't always connect, to get to most attractions you have to walk around a long wall which adds a few more minutes to any excursion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Fez. The courtyard area with tuneful parrot is a wonderful place to relax. Very comfortable rooms. We were welcomed by tea and home made biscuits upon arrival. Overall highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an excellent stay at the most amazing Riad we’ve seen so far. Besides that, breakfast and dinner were excellent (what they can make with aubergines!!!), the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great and we felt really comfortable and welcome.
Cons: There is absolutely nothing not to like!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The internal courtyard was wonderful and the roof garden was also quite nice. The rooms were very spacious and pristinely clean. On arrival we were greeted with lovely mint tea and homemade cookies. The service was excellent and the staff extremely helpful, friendly and kind. Omar is an asset to the Riad, a fantastic individual. It is worth having dinner in the evenings there, the food was excellent though breakfasts were a little disappointing but fine.
Cons: There are two things that could be improved on: 1. Apart from on arrival, we did not have any water bottles left in our room which is a standard practice. 2. On checking out, we were not given the option to pay in local currency on our card, which is again normal practice, and the staff member swiping our card simply choose to bill us in the currency of our card instead without asking which is poor business practice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the best Riad we stayed in Morocco! The place is beautiful, like living in a palace! Super friendly and accommodating staff, especially Omar! Our room was huge and beautifully decorated. The Riad is very close to the gate of the medina which is important when you arrive with the luggage, so taxi can drop you off really close to the Riad and you don't need to drag your luggage through the medina's narrow streets. The Riad is about 10-15 min walk to the Blue gate. But the best part of the Riad is the restaurant!!! The best food we ate in Morocco! Delicious! Don't bother eating outside
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Riad al Bartal in fes. Omar was extremely helpful, polite and kind. Our stay was only brief but the riad was very homely, comfortable and peaceful. It was a short walk to the Médina in fes. We especially loved the tea served on arrival, and that Omar arranged for a quick breakfast of biscuits and tea in the morning as we were departing before breakfast was served.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The best thing about Fes was Omar - he is an absolute delight!! He was able to arrange last minute walking tour for us and greeted us upon arrival with tea and cookies. The property is lovely and picturesque and a 10 minute walk from the Blue Gate! Lovely little spot in an otherwise chaotic city.
Cons: We booked a taxi with the night staff for 100 MAD and the next morning the other guy was unaware of it, so he told us to go grab a taxi near the big road. No problem! We got one and it ended up being 20 MAD. So not only did the Riad inflate the price five fold but the original taxi driver followed us to the train station, harassed us, and demanded that we pay him even though he did not provide any service to us! Save your money and your frustration, don't book transfers with them. If you do, make sure all staff are communicating.

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place with rooms much bigger than I expected. Great breakfast, staff are friendly and welcoming; always ready to help, Nour will help with any questions through WhatsApp. Clean and quality facilities, short walk to old Medina too. Great value for such a nice place, around 2000 MAD for 3 nights.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was excellent and the staff were great. The location is close to the old town souk. They also take credit card which help makes checkout easy.
Cons: Our only dissapointment was that there was no restaurant at the hotel. The only dining is the bread and coffee/tea/juice in the morning. A tv channel list showing which channels are english or french etc would be helpful. There were over 500 channels on the tv. 6 were english.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, very centrally located ( just at the entrance of the medina) and what we appreciated most, super nice and welcoming staff. We had a problem with our bus connection during EID and they went out of their way to help us find another connection. One of the staff, Najib - even took a taxi with us to the local bus station and tried to help us book tickets! Communication ahead & during the stay was fantastic and we were given a very nice Henna Tattoo! thanks a lot We will definitely come back if we are ever in Fes again.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff is super friendly and helpful, the decoration is beautiful.
Cons: The location is a bit sketchy at night.
7.5 Good
Pros: Place is nice. Very accessible.
Cons: On our second day, there’s like a “little flood” , I don’t know wherr it came from. Net connection is kinda slow.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: The staff made the taxi overcharge us for the ride instead of letting him use the meter
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The best Riad we stayed at in Morocco and we wished we could spend more time! Upon arrival we were welcomed with a Moroccan mint tea and Moroccan treats which was very nice. When we arrived, our room had been upgraded to the suite as it was our anniversary which was such a sweet gesture. The room itself was beautiful - traditional Moroccan style and was massive, very comfortable and even had a TV and mini fridge. Every day we came back to a very clean and tidy room. The breakfast was included and was served on the terrace. The breakfast always arrived very fast and was very tasty with very generous quantities. Also they serve the best Moroccan mint tea we have ever tasted (and we had all over Morocco but this one was by far the best!!!) The Riad also has an amazing rooftop terrace with beautiful views. We sat one here one night to watch the sunset and it was so peaceful and relaxing. The best part about this Riad that makes it so special is the staff. They were so kind, welcoming and friendly. They made the effort to speak to us and get to know us and made us feel so at home. One of them told us about her home town that she came from and showed us photos of the how is the life there. I would write the names but I am afraid I will spell them incorrectly but if they read this they will know who they are! :) Thank you for an amazing experience in Fes!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location inside the old Medina , staff extremely helpful and gave us some very advice on where to eat . They also organise a half day tour with Hanan . Hanan was amazing she is a very warm and informative person and took us on a wonderful tour through the Medina. There was no pressure to buy anything and we got to taste some amazing food from the market stalls . We were only in Fes for one night and the Riad and the tour were perfect.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: good staff, good location, nice clean room, Especially, tour guide HANNA is awsome!
Cons: a little far from parking area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Upon arrival there were still a few things that had to be arranged such as bus tickets. After discussing this with the hotel staff we directly went into the city with Najib (the guard) to buy all these things. This is just an example of the numerous things the staff did to make our staying as pleasant as possible. We would really want to thank the entire staff of this Riad for making our time in Fez amazing.

Pros: The hosts are the most hospitable people I have ever met ! They are very kind and they take care of you as much as they can! The chicken pastille is the best we tried and thank you again Idriss for cooking for us although we asked you last minute! The day tour at Fes they can organize worths a lot as the local guide speaks perfect English and you will learn everything without getting tired at all! The riad is very stylish and traditional, the roof has very nice view of the Médina specially at night and you can hear the prays which is very atmospheric! Everything was perfect!

Cons: Bed was a little hard for my liking.
5.0 Okay
Pros: It has a historic / traditional feel, good experience to stay in at.

Pros: The rooftop and hotel generally are beautiful, in the middle of the medina super peaceful. Great activities through the hotel like a tour guide and massage.
Cons: The hotel didn't answered the phone when we were arriving making it difficult for us to find the place. Also the wifi wasn't working at 100%

Pros: -staffs are so friendly and helpful (esp Omar) -room is spacious and comfortable -rooftop is amazing , a good place for relaxing -nice breakfast,I really love the welcoming mint tea and cookies:)
Cons: -location is not easy to find
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was amazing - three levels and quiet courtyard open to the sky shared with one other room The food was abundant and amazing and the staff were very gracious The building is very cool with roof top patio and cool views
Cons: A larger map of the area from the front desk on arrival is mandatory due to the alleys - they gave us a small one on a business card type of thing that was not useful The guy who greets you is a bit abrupt A bit of a warning - this property is very deep in the medina so I was worried enroute about what I had gotten us into but once you are inside it is great
6.3 Good
Pros: View from terrace!
Cons: Its just okay! Nothing special! Rooms close to the hallway, you hear everything from your neighbors.
7.9 Good

Pros: Great architecture, massive rooms and very friendly staff (mostly). Perfect pillows and beds. The Riyad is one of the most beautiful ones we’ve stayed in through the trip
Cons: There was a smell in the bathroom. I don’t think I have anything else to call out
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The main patio is pretty charming with a history of more than 600 years. There are plenty of shared spaces, like corridor, their three patios, poolside, and of course the amazing terrace where you can enjoy the fabulous panorama of Médina. We stayed in a standard room which looks bigger than the pics showed and has a nice view to the main patio. The staff are helpful and speak fluent English. Location not far from Karaouiyne and Tanneries.
Cons: It is located in the very heart of Médina, which means you need to spend sometime to find your way. But the location will give you a unique experience to explore the alleys. And they also offer porter service to help before checkin and after checkout.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The main patio is pretty charming with a history of more than 600 years. There are plenty of shared spaces, like corridor, their three patios, poolside, and of course the amazing terrace where you can enjoy the fabulous panorama of Médina. For the last two nights we stayed in a Junior Suite which is the main patio. It has a split level where locate the bathroom. The staff are helpful and speak fluent English. During our stay, they helped to arrange us an excursion to Volubilis, Moulay Idriss and Meknès. The service was excellent and the driver is kind and nice.
Cons: There are some young boys hanging out at night near the hotel, just about 5 to 10 meters away. So if you need to go out in the evening, pay attention and be careful.

Cons: Old town in Fes is very dirty. When we got off the bus and followed the luggage guys for about 10 minutes into old town we were so worried, but it turned out very nice inside! Pros: Amazing hospitality and a beautiful riad that made our Fes experience amazing. Staff at the hotel were welcoming - willing to make suggestions on restaurants, book tours, and organize transportation. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Fes - location is convenient and easy to find. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Pros: Wonderful staff. They booked a Médina guide for us and hammam services. Plus they gave us great recommendations. Great breakfasts- different everyday. They helped us with directions to the riad and parking. Both can be very difficult to find in Fes. The riad emailed me directions before we left home and then helped me via what’s app as we arrived in the city. Also, when we were in Fed in was HOT! They adjusted our AC so we were really comfortable when we needed some downtime.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: There are loads of reasons to love Riad Anata. I love the terrance with perfect sunlight, I love the staffs whom are so friendly and helpful. I really feel welcomed. I've stayed here with a friend for 2 night in the white room & the red room. Frankly, I like the white room more with a sightly bigger washroom :P Location is great, just 7-10mins walk to the blue gate.
Cons: There's problem about the hot water system at the red room, the hot water ran out while my friend is doing shower after me. It does happened in other riad too and we think it may due to other guests are doing shower at the same time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, welcoming staff and the best food we at in Fes. Said was super professional and made our stay very comfortable. The riad is beyond beautiful with astonishing interior and exterior design and always clean. Definitely worth the money!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: we stayed 4 nights and loved it! I would highly recommend to stay here! the whole team is so lovely. when I was sick, they helped me and made extra special tea and rice. I felt like being at home. Thank you so much!!
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are beautiful and really comfortable. The location is good, close to everything but it’s not in the middle of Médina. I had a beautiful dinner on the terrace, with a perfect service, which I highly recommend. Warm hospitality from everyone!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love the yard so much!! The room is comfortable and everything is clean and tidy. Deeply in love with the cleaning set it smells really nice, staffs are helpful and friendly. The popular "ins" window room is exactly which we stayed! The roof garden is enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend this riad to all my friends.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff came to meet us at the taxi lot so we wouldn’t get lost. We only stayed one night but had to leave early so they made us breakfast to go without hesitation. They also ensured we had a ride in the morning and welcomed us very warmly. A wonderful experience albeit short.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location!! But what makes this hotel top notch is their hospitality and the FOOD! We ate dinner and breakfast at the riad our entire stay because the food was amazing. Saiid and The chef (can’t remember her name!!) were the absolute best. Would love to come back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at Riad Anata are incredible! We loved the warmth and service of Mohammad, Said and the delicious food prepared by Samira! They were all very welcoming and kind to us and our young son, which we loved. It felt like home. Mohammad in particular also took the time to teach our son Darija and gave us excellent tips about how to navigate Fes and the Médina, which was so helpful! The room and riad were beautiful and it was wonderful to return to a lovely space after our long days out. It was also in a central location and we felt very safe walking in the day and at night because the streets around the riad were well-lit. It was also my husband’s birthday while we were in Fes and Mohammad booked us a great restaurant (Cafe Clock) with a special treat for my husband. We loved our time in Fes but mostly because of the attention to detail and kindness of the staff at Riad Anata. InshaAllah we hope to return one day and would highly recommend it to others.
Cons: Nothing!

Cons: Location was good, but needs short walk with all luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room, breakfast and host. Taha was very friendly. Abdu nice guy always ready to help. Must stay with them
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Riad has a lovely common area that is comfortable and inviting to lounge in or enjoy Moroccan tea in. The hosts-Tahir was exceptionally friendly and attentive. He provided us a map and recommendations. The location of the Riad is about a 15 minute walk to the heart of the old city.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazing and dedicated to ensuring we had everything we needed. Abdul packed us lunches when we had an early start, made sure we were comfortable in our room and when my husband slipped and sprained his ankle, he carried him to a taxi so we could go to the hospital. The riad was beautiful and we had a gorgeous balcony area. It was very clean.
Cons: The location of the riad was far from the main mosques etc that me and my husband wanted of travel to.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was a big room for 2 people.
Cons: The room didn t have a fridge.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing than room itself. Room we stayed was fine however there was a weird unpleasant smell inside all the time.
Cons: Our experience with this hotel was horrible. It is said in their description that there is a traditional moroccan hammam and treatments in Riad. When we arrived Riad, receptionist said that hammam is broken and will not be fixed for weeks. When we called booking to complain about, suddenly it appeared that they have “hammam” working. Of course they made it up to avoid refund/cancellation. Later, when we wanted to take a hammam treatment, they took us to the dirty room with housekeeping/cleaning facilities inside and we were informed that the housekeeper of the hotel will do our hammam treatments. Ridiculous, not? In a short, this place is fraud! Even though it is called "riad and spa", they dont have proper facilities for spa and they are not transparent/honest about what facilities they have. Addition to that, the man worked in receptionist was very rude and it seemed he hated his job. He was completely unhelpful during our stay and could not accommodate any simple request we had. Breakfast was not fresh either and if you need to leave riad earlier than 8 am, they expect you not kindly ask but beg for early breakfast. Just note that, in any other riad we stayed in Morocco, we were given an early breakfast when we requested it day before.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. Good reception.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the beautiful patio with fabulous wall deco, furniture and fountain in the middle. Such a calm and relaxing space. The staff was very nice and helpful. The diner was delicious. Eating authentic food at an authentic atmosphere of this old riad is definitely part of Moroccan experiences, worthwhile trying. I fully recommend Riad Zamane.
Cons: No issue about this wonderful riad. — In the neighborhood, some youths / children idling at the street were sometimes noisy (including late at night) and annoying. This may be a common issue for many different riads located in the same street. (Though, we are foreign visitors and are allowed to stay in local people’s living space, so it is by no means intended to impose tourists’ comfort standards.)
7.5 Good
Pros: Main atrium was beautiful and ornate, the suite had a nice private terrace. Staff member Abu was also very friendly and helped us to feel at home
Cons: Bedroom and bathroom were tired, and we would have appreciated a duvet. We were also asked to return the key on leaving the riad for dinner as they only had one! We were also asked to pay the bill in cash which wasnt mentioned on booking through this site, which caused a little inconvenience.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect, couple of minutes walk from the medina. Room was large, comfortable and clean. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful at all hours of the day.

Cons: Breakfast a bit disappointing compared to other Riads we've stayed at. No eggs or home-made yogurt, both easy to prepare.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We really appreciated the beautiful Riad and the kindness of the employees.
Cons: The price of the dinner was elevated in comparison to other riads and restaurants around. In equivalent places, the same menu costed half the price. We believe the breakfast should include a selection of fruits.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a charming base from which to explore this part of Morocco. Clean room upon arrival, comfy bed, good shower/toiletries, the staff really friendly and ready to help you. The breakfast selection is brilliant and extensive, with a variety of cheeses, pastries, fruit and cereal, as well as fresh squeezed juice and excellent coffee. And a menu (in the photo) was available for free for those who wants to order additional eggs, bacon, sausage, etc... (just ask the waiter for it). The restaurant is terrific, you can have a traditional moroccan dinner with typical dishes with selected ingredients. Everything is fresh, in fact they want clients reserve in advance. We will definitely come back!

Pros: The staff are friendly and helpful. The environment is clean and beautiful. I can feel the way of arabian family lives in this house. The breakfast is great, a very satisfied breakfast.
Cons: We had 2 people, if our room can have 2 chair for each of us, it would be better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Atmospheric riad, spacious room, decorated under Morrocan architecture! Colourful tiles, king size bed! Amazing view from the terrace!Helpful staff, especially Aziz! Don't forget to search for Mehir to walk you through the labyrinth of the Medina!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This Riad (hotel) is located close to the edge but within the old city (Medina) – it requires assistance to access, as taxis and other wheeled vehicles have no direct access. The Riad will arrange to meet your taxi at the closest main gate. It features a beautiful atrium, three stories in height, and onto which all the rooms have a direct outlook. There is also a roof terrace with recreation area and good views of the city. While there is no elevator, the obliging staff are only too willing to carry your suitcases to your room. A traditional breakfast is included in the tariff, and a limited-menu dinner can also be provided at an additional charge if desired. The proprietor, Ahmed, is friendly and obliging. For example, he arranged to purchase a train ticket for me so that I did not need to make a special trip to the train station (online ticket purchases seem to be restricted to those with a Moroccan credit card). The free wi-fi worked well, and the rooms were elegant and charming, with an old-world, Arabic ambience. Ahmed also arranged for an English-speaking Guide for me, as it would be impossible to negotiate the narrow streets, lanes and alleyways of the Medina without a Guide. Fortunately, the Medina in Fez does not permit wheeled vehicles of any kind (except small trolleys), which is a great advantage over the equivalent precinct in Marrakech, where you take your life into your hands as the sometimes fast-moving scooters etc. negotiate their way around obstacles such as pedestrians! Fez uses donkeys and mules to transport heavier loads through the streets and laneways of the Medina (beware the manure).
Cons: I did find, however, that the lighting level in my room was a bit too low for functional requirements. My only criticism was that my Guide appeared to be nothing more than a tout for various tourist venues and retail establishments. At every stop, I was passed over to a merchant who started doing a sales pitch. I told the Guide I wasn't really interested in buying tourist souvenirs, but he took no notice (he's probably on a commission).

Cons: Wifi wasn't stable No TVs available in the room

Pros: Positions, details, room and rooftop
Cons: There’s no a kitchen free if the guets would likte to eat something
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a perfect stay here ! The whole Riad is beautiful ,with finest decoration !Everything is fine here ! The food is fresh and good !The staff is helpful and nice ! The room is tidy and spacious. When you bathing , you will hear some songs from the birds outside !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great-- pastries, bread, eggs, sometimes fruit, coffee, and fresh squeezed juice. The room was gorgeous and beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, if a little small compared to our riad in Marrakech of comparable cost. The food at the restaurant for dinner is much better than most riad restaurants. Extremely well flavored and delicate, with elegant presentation and some modern tweaks on traditional Moroccan dishes. Definitely recommend eating here at least once during your stay, if not more! The common areas were really the standout-- the central open air courtyard, the libraries and sitting rooms, and the spa were all beautiful and each decorated a little bit differently-- modern, traditional Berber, eclectic. I wish the fountains and water features had been working, as that would have just added the little extra "oomph" that would have set it over the top. The spa and hammam were our favorite of our entire multi-week stay in Morocco-- and we went to 4 different ones, ranging from local and cheap, to fancy and Western at 5-star hotels. Not only were the facilities beautiful and calm, but both of our attendants (hammam, and then masseuse) gave us the best treatments we experienced in the country! Both were comparable to service we would expect at a high-end American spa. They have laundry service, which is especially valuable when you have been traveling for awhile. The rooftop terrace is amazing, and probably the best part of the property. You have a beautiful view of the sunset, and they will bring you your breakfast or mint tea to sip while you are up there. While we were there, a family of kittens was always playing around. Gorgeous! I wish there were more lounge chairs/shaded pavilions to better take advantage of the view.
Cons: There are no hand rails to help you up and down the steep stairs, which was problematic for my older, retired parents. This made it especially difficult for them to take advantage of the terrace. The location is just okay. Certainly walkable to the souqs and major sites, but not in the middle of them. I would advise staying closer to the Blue Gate if you want to to be closer to that. Still, it is relatively near a good plaza where a taxi can drop you off, and then the staff will come meet you and transfer your luggage. It made it quiet, and more residential with more locals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Even before we arrived we were so pleased with the communication by Otmane and his staff! In all our years of travel there have been only I'd say a handful of places that have provided service like they did and we had not even checked in yet! When we arrived Otmane had sent a staff member to great and take us the Riad which was very helpful! Now the journey truly begins on the outside it is an unassuming Riad but the second you enter the doors you are taken aback by the beauty of the entrance and riad! Otmane was ever so kind to accommodate our requests and help guide us on places to go even though we came late in the day! You are greeted with mint tea and snacks while your bags are recieved by the staff taken to your suite. The suite was a Moroccan/French dream! We fell in love with it immediately and every detail was magnificent. The terrace is the real gem you can see the entire Medina and at sunrise it is beautiful. Otmane and the staff were amazing and we will be staying here during our next visit!! This place is special!
Cons: There is nothing we didn't like!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The exquisite renovation of the Riad with quality finishes, artwork and interior design. A magnificent rooftop with panoramic views of the Fes medina where breakfast was served each morning. The attentive staff were second to none. You could not find a more relaxing residence to return to after a day's exploration of the attractions of Fes.
Cons: Nothing. Our experience at Karawan Riad has been one of the best in our travels.

Pros: Beautiful building, room, terrace, and library. Wonderful staff and hospitality. We truly loved it and recommend staying here to all.

Pros: On arrival they served us with tasty mint tea. Beautiful Riad and an amazing staff. Azdene is very welcoming and Mohammad is very polite. The riad is vibrant, the rooms are always clean with fresh towels. The ambience gives a positive vibe and I highly recommend this place.
Cons: The breakfast was not how I expected. I have travelled within Morocco a lot and stayed at several Riads. The breakfast is usually nice and appetising but this wasn't fresh at all.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very attentive and hospitable staff, always willing to help with what we needed during our stay. The breakfast was varied and tasty and the riad is quiet, well appointed and the restoration work that has been done at the main areas does the original work justice. Definitely make sure that you spent an evening at the roof terrace, which has a great view.

Pros: Luxurious spacious room on the ground floor was a great bonus. The staff were friendly and very helpful in making out stay a pleasant experience. They were very helpful in providing information for getting around Fes and booking a guide and transport. Always willing to provide tea,hot water etc at any time and always with a smile.
6.3 Good
Pros: The men at the reception were very kind.
Cons: We had a free upgrade to a biggest room, but it was smelling bad and didn't look very clean, especially the barhroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Since we traveled with kids, we had 2 rooms. Both decorated in Moroccan style, were grant and spacious with private bathrooms and connected with each other. Tons of light filtering through the seven foot glass windows. Plenty of fresh towels and toiletry. Two story moroccan style foyer takes your breath away! Simple breakfast, like in most Riads, consisted in different types of bread, jams, honey and yogurt. We left at 4:00am for an early flight and they made us breakfast to go! Amazing people!
Cons: Sometimes there would be a strong smell coming from the floor drains in one of the bathrooms. I placed a towel on top of it and it helped some. Too many saves in the closets, and little space for cloths.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful Riad with really tall ceilings. Very clean and nice bathroom. Very nice breakfast!

Pros: It is lovely to dit on the roof. The rooms can accommodate more than the 2 we booked. Interesting breakfast wonderful location

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are beautiful and very ornately decorated. You'll feel like you're in an Arabian Nights movie. Laundry services are cheap and fast.
Cons: The staff was unhelpful but ineffective. We asked for the light bulbs to be fixed in the sitting area and in the bedroom as half of them were not working. We also asked for the wifi to be fixed. Neither was addressed in the duration of our stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we entered the riad till we left in two days we felt like home , worm welcome by all staff and especially the manager Ezzedine were fantastic. It is a beautiful riad and very comfortable stay .The breakfast is very good .Ezzedine arranged for us a transfer to Chefcheon with a driver and Gide Hamza an excellent driver . Also we hade a faz Gide with Jemal who spoke good English and very good knowledge of the city’s history. Over all highly recommended and we will definitely stay there next time.

Pros: The riad is not in the middle of the Medina so it is accessible by road and they had a great place to park our motorcycles safe for the night. Still the medina is a few minutes by foot so perfect if you travel by motorcycle. They even let us leave our gear at the riad while we explored the medina.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hassan was an amazing host! He got in touch with our driver to ensure a smooth arrival and helped to carry our bags in. He was very welcoming and helpful from the beginning, wanting to help in any way that he could. He helped to arrange tours (walking tour with a licensed guide through the Médina was great - 4 hours for just 250MAD) and brought us to a couple of restaurants of his recommendation. He walked us/took a cab with us to the restaurants and asked the restaurant staff to escort us all the way back to the hotel to ensure our safety and comfort (people will often approach you if you are not accompanied by a local and/or will rip you off). He even helped me to buy toothpaste at a nearby stand! The courtyard at the Riad (which we learned isn’t actually a Riad due to the lack of a garden) was also beautiful, though hot! The rooms were small but clean and equipped with a/c and a nice terrace. There are many stairs up to the rooms. Breakfast was great as well. It starts at 8:30am but if you need to check out early, let Hassan know and he will arrange for breakfast to be made early for you.
Cons: The second tour that Hassan arranged for us was with a hotel staff (not a licensed guide). It was a driving tour, 3 hours for 300MAD, but it didn’t feel like we got to see much for our money and the mosaic shop he took us to was closed. Worse, we paid him directly (though he gave us the option to pay the hotel upon check out) but then told Hassan that we hadn’t paid him. After a stern conversation with him face-to-face, he finally admitted we had already paid him. If you have the option, opt to pay the hotel later rather than the driver/guide immediately!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The position in Medina, the kindness of Hassan, the cleaning.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel has a stunning courtyard, where the breakfast is being served as well. We booked the room with a private terrace and it was definitely worse the money - amazing views over the city. Rooms are very clean and the bathrooms lovely. The hotel stuff was always helpful.

Pros: Hassan is very kind and helpful! The room was amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The riad is perfect, both the staff and Rooms too.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very friendly, thanks hassan
Cons: Spa (hammam ) is not free of charge (€30pp)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, very helpful in every possible way (such as with parking, with organizing a great guided city tour for a reasonable price, and with generally good advice in our interest). They made us feel at home, and it's a safe base in an area where you really need one.

Pros: The pool has a good size and was super during those hot days. The location is great, very near to everything and at the same time very quiet. The renovation of the Riad has been done with great care to detail. Beautiful. The staff is wonderful, caring and helpful, but not pushy. 8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pretty much unbeatable value for money. A good breakfast was included and we also got a pickup from the station. The area was nice and you could easily walk into the center of the Medina.
Cons: Unfortunately, the bathroom wasn't that nice; it was a bit older and therefore a bit smelly. There was no shower curtain and everything got wet which was was quite uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location very close to the fountain and medina. Pool lovely and cool. Everything was clean and the staff so lovely.
Cons: Pool is smaller than it looks and there is only two sun beds close to the pool which is a shame.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: They provided us with a shuttle to pick us up from the station which is really nice. The place is very relaxing and quiet.
Cons: The room that we got was the one with the toilet outside the room. It was only for us but it was a little inconvenient for us to go outside the room to use the toilet. So ask first for the room with the toilet inside.

Cons: The roof terrace was being refurbished while we were there so were unable to use it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best accommodation I've ever stayed in. It was so authentically Moroccan and the staff were so accommodating. Plus amazing breakfast and food (even if they were European prices).
Cons: Some rooms are quite high up, so if stairs are a problem you might want to check your room but for us this was no problem.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Meals were amazing. Service was top notch. Everything was just beautiful. We felt like we had a beautiful palace all to ourselves. Great staff. Very safe.
Cons: Pool was very cold. Difficult to find off the alley. We didn’t like the Medina at all. Parking is a huge hassle and the parking lot swindlers almost ruined our arrival. Horrible to drive into.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. It was even better than the photos. I had some of the best food here for my entire time spent in morocco. The hotel staff were so attentive and so friendly, I absolutely love this place and would recommend anyone visiting Fez to stay here. one of the two nights spent here was very entertaining. Whilst my friend and I were enjoying dinner near the pool, people were playing traditional music, doing henna, and a tour group were also enjoying a cooking class run by the hotel. very happy with the experience
6.3 Good
Pros: Clean and large rooms. Very quite. Top room was really nice.
Cons: Residential part of Medina, lacks attention to detail in both service and look and feel. Was expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best thing about this riad is the staff. They are all very helpful. Zechariah speaks about 5 languages as far as I can tell and is enormously helpful. Mohammed is very helpful too, as was Nordine. The owner is lucky to have such a good team. The riad itself is very beautiful. We had a lovely suite called Habiba, named after the owner's wife. The food was good - we ate dinner there twice and the breakfasts were generous. Two tips - there is parking very near by, about 200m from the riad. If you pay them generously (say 30 Dirham per 24 hours) they will make sure you always have a space whenever you return and our car was perfectly safe for 5 days, coming and going as we pleased. Secondly the riad is not signposted from the road. You should look for the pharmacie Fatima and park there. Ignore any unofficial guides - the riad is just around the back and you can ask directions from the shop. If you go in winter wrap up warm at night when out and about. It gets close to freezing!
Cons: The roof terrace is not yet open - I hear that the owner has grand plans for it following the purchase of a third riad next door, which they will knock through and create more rooms and more social space. But this won't be ready for use until later in 2019.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and large room with good amenities.
Cons: The riad could have added a hot pot and tea and coffee in the room. But they were her prompt in giving us hot water whenever we asked for it
6.0 Good
Pros: Courtyard was beautiful and relaxing
Cons: Everything about this experience was horrible. After making a reservation through Kayak, I contacted the Riad directly to check if they can arrange for an extra bed in the room. The Riad said they didn’t have my reservation so I sent along the reservation confirmation I received from Kayak’s partner site. The Riad subsequently responded and said that they didn’t have any rooms so they would accommodate us at Road Myra which was generally in the same location and looked good online so I agreed as long as the same requirements and rates would be honored. The Riad continued to communicate with me about airport transfer etc which lead me to believe that the same owners or management staff manages both the roads. When we got to Riad Myra, it was a horrible experience. At first, they claimed that they didn’t have my reservation, didn’t communicate clearly, didn’t tell us about Riad amenities (we were coming from marrkech and had a wonderful experience at 2 roads here), and proceeded to give us a shitty standard room with such low ceilings that we felt claustrophobic. When I told them that I had booked a suite and absolutely needed it starting next day since our third friend was arriving they said they would move us the next day. Next day, on inquiring about airport transfer for my friend, they acted clueless. Then called the original Riad and proceeded to take over the arrangement . When I asked them to adjust the room price given we didn’t get the suite on first night, the manager, Salma said she would talk to the other Riad. Subsequently Salma avoided all eye contact and communication with me for next 3 days. On the final day she got one of the porters to settle the dues and I requested to speak with her regarding my question. She reluctantly called, spoke to the other Riad on phone (which she had clearly not done before as promised), gave me vague answers and proceeded to charge me 40 € extra per night for my third friend although we had agreed to to 30 € in prior communication on email. Overall I recommend everyone to stay away from road al amine fes and Riad Myra. I urge the management to ensure staff and especially manager, Salma doesn’t ruin the guest experience.

Pros: I spent nearly a month in Morocco staying in numerous love at ions throughout the country, and I can say unequivocally that Riad El Amine Fez was the nicest of all! The staff was welcoming the moment I arrived. The Riad was beautiful and unlike many who have a covering over the courtyard permanently Riad El Amine Fez employed a retractable cover above the courtyard that they were not shy to open up.and enhance the ambiance & magical Moroccan light of this enchanting accommodation. I would be remiss if I didn't also didn't say I had the two finest meals in my entire stay in Morocco! As we say in the US, this wonderful & unexpected home away from home, was a Home Run!!! The staff arranged for an all day trip with my special request for a fluent English speaker in the Middle Atlas Mountains that was simply sublime, and I would express my many thanks to Mustafa for the memories that'll last a lifetime in this magical place that this Riad helped play a significant part!!!
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and the location was ideal for visiting the Medina. The staff tried very hard and were very friendly.
Cons: There was building work going on within the Riad which mean't that we were unable to use the roof terrace. This wasn't explained to us prior to our booking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My attractive, quiet room, plus the excellent breakfast with delicious coffee/hot milk, freshly squeezed orange juice, omelette and a selection of bread/Moroccan pastries, all served with style and care.
Cons: I suggested a bedside light in my room would have helped reading at night, but this is comment, not criticism

Pros: The riad arranged for our taxi transfer from the train station, which was definitely good to do because it was a bit overwhelming when we first arrived in Fes. Staff met us at our taxi, walked us to the hotel, and took the time to explain the area with a map and extra information. The view from the roof was lovely and the breakfast in the morning was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent Location near Bouinania Mosqe. Great breakfast. We stayed here the second time and we will come back. Near and safe Parking at Bab Boujloud.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast had a great variety of breads with delicious honey and amazing jams. The front manager was extremely helpful and did beyond to make our stay n Fez good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Too helpful staff, especially Khalid, welcomed us at the Blue Gate so we did not get lost in Fes' straits and explained how to get into the city. The next day, because we would leave very early and would not have breakfast, he gave us orange juices and croissants for the trip. The Riad is very well located at the beginning of Fes Medina and between the 2 main streets and it is easy to navigate the city
Cons: Sound insulation was in his minus
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Riad Taryana is very beautiful and in great location. Mohammed speaks very good English and extremely nice and helpful. I had diarrea one day and he accompanied me to a pharmacy for medicines.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Cons: The hotel and room were both beautiful, which is why it's too bad the people at the front desk are trying to hustle their guests out of money. When we told them we would be eating breakfast in a cafe outside instead of their 5 euro hotel breakfast they tried everything to make us pay -- first saying what a good deal it was (it wasn't) and then trying to say we agreed to pay it as part of our Booking reservation (this isn't part of any Booking reservation). They also tell everyone that if they want to see the medina they have to hire a guide through them. This is a lie, anyone can walk around the medina without a guide. Our room heater also stopped working after the first night and no one was able to fix it. The tragic part is that the rooms are so nice that they could just charge more and it would still be worth it, and then they wouldn't have to hustle the guests.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality from this Riad was great. The man that worked there was friendly and always willing to help. Mohammed the owner/manager was also very helpful in organizing a tour from Fes to Volubilis and Meknes. He went out his way to find others to go on the tour with us to help keep the cost down and an enjoyable day was had by all. The rooms were a standard Riad and were kept in a clean state. Breakfast was a traditional Moroccan one and was filling. Overall a good stay and made more than welcome by workers.
Cons: The only downside to Riad Taryana was the WiFi connection was rather poor in the room we had. The router was located in the main area and had to put phone out the room window for it to connect sometimes.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Decor was lovely, beautiful airy open courtyard. Wonderful breakfast and perfect location, 2 minutes from the gate. Nice welcome and Mohamed helped us book a very good 3 day Sahara/Atlas tour.
Cons: Room was a little cramped and dark, tucked away at the top instead of opening onto the courtyard.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice, authentic and clean room, in the middle of old town. Very nice hotel building and helpful hosts.
Cons: The room is a bit dark and the breakfast a bit boring.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were very impressed of the interior design of the riad. It is a hidden gem! The host, Mohhamed was very kind, helpful and passionate to provide whatever needed, with an extra bonus of orientation in Fes history. Breakfast was more than adequate with local products. And last but not least it was very clean in every aspect.

Pros: Great breakfast. Comfortable beds. Well organised activities such as guides.
Cons: It’s loud constantly. There is always music playing and it’s loud. Feels a bit like staff aren’t bothered. Limited toilet/shower (1 per 12)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked the friendly staff and dinner was delicious! I also enjoyed the day tour of the city.
Cons: I didn’t like the curfew restrictions. It was challenging for my friends and I to enjoy our first two nights because we were concerned about the curfew.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, the size of the hostel, close to medina
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hostel has a good location. The staff was friendly and also the travelers there were amazing. The breakfast was so good and the dinner as well.
Cons: We had our own bathroom, which was amazing. Although it wasn't very clean
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and dinner (5 euro). The hole building, the terrace, the area, the people of funky fes, the travelers I met.
Cons: If you wish to have some quiet during the day avoid to book a bunk bed at the ground floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The helpful staff, the friendly atmosphere, the delicious food, the green rooftop with amazing views, the practical location near the historical centre. We enjoyed the experience of a hostel with the privacy of a hotel (double room).
Cons: The location inside the old historical city centre, Medina, was handy to explore and inspiring to visit in order to get the full Moroccan experience. However, it did not feel very safe late at night or early in the morning.

5.8 Okay
Pros: The outdoor spaces and common spaces were picturesque, good for photos.
Cons: Our room bed was definitely not conformable, we had to pay for everything up front including our stay upon our arrival, our dinner, any services used by the hotel, pay certain things my cash only? The service is generally non existent or bad. The staff seems disorganized and stressed probably from poor management. The location is up on a steep inclined hill where the entrance is also very difficult to find. The reception also doesn't respond to any inquiries you have before your arrival. There are better places in fes i'm sure to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff
Cons: It's hard to find
5.4 Okay
Pros: The breakfasts were great and the staff very attentive. The location was good for discovering the Medina. We could not use the the swiming pool because it was not warmed. The weather was too cold for this activity, unfortunately. The second room had a view on the indie of the riad, above the swimming pool.
Cons: The first room I booked was a standard junior room with twin beds. My friend could not sleep because of the smell of the bathroom and the humidity of the room. She is an asthmatic. The view was on a side street with no view on the riad. They upgraded us on an ambassador room, that was much better. Anyway, the price is quite expensive for the facilities proposed. We could not use the the swiming pool because it was not warmed. The weather was too cold for this activity, unfortunately. The internet connection was a mess except for the living room downstairs, were we could have diner. They had it fixed on the last day :(
7.5 Good
Cons: - The location was a little edgy, specially since we arrived after midnight. - The hotel was too quiet.
7.5 Good
Pros: Classic opulent Riad within Medina with wonderful garden. Good sized rooms. Comfortable beds and Good breakfast. Parking onsite possible with rear access.
Cons: Unfortunately Internet was woeful
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location. Large property
Cons: Very old needing reverberation.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location and breakfast.
Cons: Price to high. Lack of communication in english. Awful spa service. False informations about this place on the website. No luxury, no heated pool, no good wifi. Dirty, need updating, poor service.
7.1 Good
Pros: It was located in a great area, easily accessible to the Medina. It was a bit challenging to find by car, but once we made it, it was very convenient to walk around the town by foot.
Cons: The place felt a bit old, dated, as if it’s most vibrant days were years ago. And the staff were a bit cold and unresponsive to our needs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fabulous time at Riad Arabesque! We were unsure given reviews on other sites but decided to take a punt and it was nothing short of great. The highlight was the property - the architecture and mosaics are beautiful and definitely showcase local culture. The property is great, it is overlooking the Medina and as it is on the very outskirts of the Medina it feels like an oasis. Breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking a large green garden - it is a nice escape from the Medina and peaceful to come back after a busy day to spend the afternoon. Breakfast is large and lovely and the staff are particularly helpful and welcoming. The rooms are large and very clean - we would highly recommend.
Cons: Drinks at the bar seemed quite expensive however they appear to be on par with other hotels.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly service.
