Dear KAYAK Customer Support, I am writing to formally complain about a recent car rental booking made through KAYAK. Upon arriving to pick up the vehicle, I was informed that the car was not allowed to be taken outside the state of Nevada. This restriction was not disclosed anywhere during the booking process, and had I been aware of it, I would not have proceeded with the reservation. As a result, I wasted a significant amount of time and was unable to use the rental at all. Additionally, I was surprised to learn that the booking did not include unlimited mileage, which further contradicted my expectations when making the reservation. Due to these undisclosed limitations, this booking was unusable and represents one of the worst experiences I have had using KAYAK. I believe this situation resulted from incomplete or misleading information provided at the time of booking, and not from any fault on my part. I am therefore requesting a full refund and an explanation as to why these critical restrictions were not clearly stated upfront. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of this matter. was never told before pick up that they would not take my credit card and that I have to pay double for liability insurance. shuttle never came one time then the return trip I waited 30 minutes. car was very dirty as well. communications with the company was very difficult as they dont have an option to connect via telephone with a real person and no way to message unless you buy a Sim card to call them to request an airport pickupReviewed 23 Jan 2026

Green Motion canceled my reservation because I was 2.5 hours late due to weather-related delays and a rebooked connection. They refused to refund me, and I had to start and of course pay for a new reservation with them at the rental counter. In all of my many years of renting cars, I’ve never been treated so poorly by a rental car agency.Reviewed 8 Jan 2026

TLDR: avoid, they'll try to scam you on damages The car was fine, I did get upgraded for free (though not before the person at the counter tried to upsell me for the more expensive car, even though they didn't have what I rented available). When returning the car, a less than 1mm rock chip was found on the windshield. This was then coded as a more than 2mm rock chip because "there's no option for less than 2 mm". Green Motion then proceeded to charge me 172 euros for this chip. They refused to provide an invoice listing the charges prior to payment. I'd heard rumor about cheap rental places in Portugal making their money on questionable damage claims, turns out the rumors are true.Reviewed 24 Oct 2025

The experience was very bad, I tried to rent the car and the guy ask for my id and said that if I had 21 years old I need to pay more and also had a credit card with money for insurance. I knew that I needed a credit card but the amount of the credit that he asked me was to high to the credit that I already got with my bank. It was a little more expensive than we expected. What was most frustrating was they asked for a PIN for my credit card. I didn't even know a credit card could have a PIN. I tried my usual PIN 3 times and then got locked out. It's a Portuguese bank, so I'm sure someone on the staff used that bank and could have helped me figure out how to find or reset my PIN in the app. They weren't helpful or friendly. So we had to use my friend's card, which meant we canceled our original rental (cost 26€) and re-rented the car on her card and then we had to add me as the driver for another cost of 25€. If the staff had been more helpful, we could have found my PIN and saved 50+€. (I found the PIN in the banking app later, so it was possible.)
