Located on the Trans-Canada Highway, this Golden motel is situated between the Rocky and Selkirk mountain ranges. It features a large hot tub. Golden town centre is 5 minutes' drive away. Free WiFi access and cable TV are provided in every room at the Ponderosa Motor Inn. They are equipped with a refrigerator and include bathroom amenities. Guests can enjoy a lite breakfast that includes cereal, muffins, coffee, toast, juice and tea. A children’s playground are located on site at the Ponderosa Inn. There is also an outdoor patio with BBQ facilities. The weekend shuttle to Golden is located 500 metres way. Golden Airport is 4.3 km away.

Pros: The location was great, real close to Downtown. Staff were pleasant.
Cons: The moment you opened the door to our room a strong smetll of moth balls hits you in the nose. In the shower there was mold on the tile.

Pros: My 9-year-old granddaughter was ecstatic to see there was a pool. We arrived a little early, but I asked the lady cleaning the rooms to leave a couple extra towels as we would be using the pool. She left large towels for the pool, and we enjoyed our refreshing swim. (The pool is unheated.) The dy was very hot, so we loved it. The room was cool (A/C) and we all slept comfortably. Three adults and one child.
Cons: The TV needed to have directions on how to operate it. I think it was Satellite, and we use cable at home, so it didn't turn on in the same way. Directions taped to the "box" would have helped and averted frustration.
