10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful well maintained hotel in perfect location
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location. The breakfast choices were not too wide, but were ok.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Great and welcoming staff. Good breakfast, and very nice pool area. They arranged for airport pick up that went very smoothly and also easy to arrange tours with them. I would recomend this place to everyone.
Cons: Some noise for the nearby bars at the start of the night, but that is probably to be expected since it is so centrally located.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, staff, breakfast and facilities
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Central location, easy to walk to Markets and shops.
7.0 Good
Pros: Some of the staff were excellent and very helpful. Great to have had access to a doctor in-house for a medical emergency -thanks.
Cons: Rooms could be noisy. Shower was not great: not well maintained and the shower head was broken.
6.3 Good
Pros: Great location, beautiful colonial mansion.
Cons: We're not usually ones to write a bad review, but here it felt warranted; the staff, especially at the café, is extremely rude and uncaring. Once, we walked into the café and tried to order something (we speak spanish and were polite) they laughed in our faces then stared into nothingness for 5 minutes, so we left. Breakfast was by far the worst we had in Nicaragua, so after the first night we ate elsewhere. Our showerhead broke on the first use (it's an old house, no problem) but when we informed the staff of this they said they'd fix it, but never did. The hotel keeps a few loud dogs that pee inside. And the wifi is so slow that it's unusable during daytime.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Pool and spa and the chocolate museum with the cacao drink are awesome!
Cons: It is centrally located! Staff is attentive and friendly. Prices are affordable for the family.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can't think of anything
Cons: Friendly staff. Very safe
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old colonial property right in the heart of Granada, the property is huge as you wander from courtyard to courtyard. They have lots of cats and dogs around the property to keep you company and the chocolate museum which offers workshop is located directly in the lobby.
Cons: My room was off in a side courtyard which was dark at night so had to use my phone to get around sometimes.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The property is very run down and does not look like the featured photographs. Especially the pool area which is incredibly run down - large tiles missing, dirty water, broken chairs ect. The bar was also not what we expected - barely a bar. The shower needed repeated fixing & attention from staff. The bathroom had a constant bad smell. In the end we checked out early - loosing a night’s money - because on the whole, it was a bit depressing!
Cons: The generation condition of the property - it all needed drastic maintenance. Our shower was broken & there was a constant sewage smell from our bathroom.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The style of the house is great.
Cons: I had to check out at 6 am. NOBODY offere me coffee, also I asked for
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Well located, accommodating staff for what they have to work with. But still not worth it!
Cons: It’s dirty, all areas of the hotel have not been maintained. The pictures are outdated and lead you to believe otherwise. I don’t recommend unless your stuck/desperate to find a place to sleep.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful old colonial building, excellent art work, big rooms, comfy beds, clean, nice to relax by the pool with a cocktail.
Cons: The focus is the cacao museum and spa. No drinking water for guests, pool and bar close at 6pm, no communal kitchen, staff are pleasant but unable to help with tours or onward travel and I felt like a massive inconvenience to them every time I asked a question - they only want to sell you spa treatments. Pool staff are lovely. Pool needs cleaning - lots of duck feathers.
Hotel Real La Merced - Granada - Pool
3
9.3 Excellent (140 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Real La Merced in Granada, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Laguna de Apoyo and Church of Nuestra Senora de las Mercedes. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is well located but pretty quiet. Pool is great and cigar smoking is allowed. Staff are friendly and speak English.
Cons: Would have preferred a combination room safe rather than a key.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very helpful, friendly, and neat. Location is fantastic - right near the center and for that rather quiet. There are lots of restaurants within 400m, ATM very close by, the courtyard swimming pool is very clean and a perfect cool down option. Staff helps you negotiate cab prices. All in all we got our money's worth.
Cons: There was no window in our room. As a first time booker you just need to be aware that the budget rooms come with no windows. On the other hand it's perfectly dark to get a good night sleep. Okay for one night, if you stay longer I recommend paying more for a room with window. Church bell next door starts at 6.30am, so be ready for an early morning wakeup call.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: Coffee maker without coffee was a bit odd
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was really wonderful and helped us make an international call.
Cons: The only thing we wished was for a quieter room. Our particular room was on street level and did not have a window that opened. It was a bit noisy.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was nice. The bed comfortable with nice sheets. The small refrigerator was an added bonus. Odd that they had a coffee machine but did not leave coffee to brew. Also odd that they left 1 glass and 1 mug even though there were 2 of us. The Wifi was iffy in the room but good in the lobby and pool area.
Cons: Wifi did not work well in the room

3.7 Mediocre
Pros: This was our honeymoon and we paid extra for a gauranteed upgraded room, not only did they not give us an upgraded room but they moved us to three different rooms including one at another hotel in a sketchy location for the three nights we were there!! On day one they even had the nerve to go into our room and take all our things out without telling us. It was invasive and embarrassing. They told us that Univision was filming or the water filter was broken or that someone had overstayed. Many different versions of lies when it was obvious they had just overbooked their hotel. They gave us a free half hearted dinner to "compensate" for all this but this remains one of the worst customer service experiences of our lives.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional staff, very clean room, breakfast included was a lovely treat,
Cons: Stairs but staff took care of everything.
5.0 Okay
Pros: the place is very beautiful
Cons: toilett didnt work in my room. I booked a room with balcony and the hotel was empty but I got given a room on the groundfloor without balcony. When I asked they told me that the upper rooms are not available. The receptionist was ok but I stayed in Granada in the Hotels Dario and Colon and the staff is amazingly friendly so I was a bit disappointed of this hotel.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: You can't go wrong with a stay at La Gran Francia. The property is beautiful and in a perfect location. The staff is helpful friendly and professional.
Cons: The pool was out of order but we did not mind much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location and breathtaking views from the balcony! Helpful and friendly staff. Clean and well maintained property. Great breakfast beautiful restaurant!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is at the hotel across the street and the location is excellent.
Cons: The public areas only have hard uncomfortable benches and wrought iron chairs and the rooms have no chairs. There is no comfortable place to sit in this hotel, except your bed. If you want to relax and read for a while, there is nowhere to get comfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was quiet.
Cons: The staff was the best by far. Very polite and helpful compared to another hotel that was suppose to be better. Pretty arrogant when I questioned their lousy internet. Excuses and lies was all they gave at the plaza.

Pros: I ordered dinner for my room and it was ready promptly and well done. Staff very helpful and friendly. I had a great view of pool and garden from my room. The staff spoke German and French.
Cons: There was a celebration sounded like a band walking down the street. Not sure. I was so tired I sleep thru it at around 6 or 7pm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing! During our stay, they were able to help us with any accommodations we may have needed. It's in a great location being minutes away from the city center (which also helped when you were trying to relax since the city can be a little loud at night). Pros: * it was a nice location with the Malecón right in front of you and a short walk in to town. * the owner did his utmost to ensure our needs were met and any questions, queries or help we needed, he was eager to help us out. For example, both my partner and I work online and he ensured we had the best Internet connection so we could complete our work.
Cons: There wasn't anything we didn't like about the property. Occasionally the restaurant nearby played their music very loudly but that's not related to this property.

Pros: Excellent Mrs. Daniela from reception helped with everything. Location, next to the main square (Parque Central).

Pros: The staff and the services they provide. They picked me from managua late at night in a very nice vehicle and I felt completely safe. 5.7 Okay
Pros: We didn't like much. The courtyard was nice.
Cons: $70 a night for cold showers and a broken a/c with uncomfortable beds. A little disappointed. The cold showers are not really a big deal as that is pretty standard. They did however advertise a/c and it just blew normal outside air. Using a credit card was a pain. The owner doesn't know how to use the cc machine so had to call a friend just to input the amount. Not impressed at all.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location was ideal in Granada. Price was the cheapest in the area. Lobby staff were friendly Has a pool A/c worked well
Cons: Cleanliness wasn't that great. Bed #2 was a super thin mattress over wooden bed. Very uncomfortable if you are an adult. Water pressure was almost always super low. We had to wait 12 hours to get towels, only a single sheet on beds, no soap, shampoo, or conditioner in the rooms. You are supposed to pay $5 a night to some guy that "watches the cars at night" Since it is "mandatory" and not an optional tip then it should just be added to the price of the hotel.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is great! Charming place and the staff are very helpful. This was my second stay and will definitely stay again!
Cons: Our room didn’t cool down very much, but enough that we could sleep. Stairs are tough if you have any heavy bags (if you aren’t on the 2nd floor)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is exceptional, on the Cale Coralles, within a block to three blocks of everything of interest. Casa San Francisco oozes charm and lush colonial elegance. And room rates are a real deal right now. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the in-house lounge/restaurant, Bocadillos, is a gem.
Cons: Nothing. They're still staffing up due to shutting down after the economic/civil troubles from April, 2018, but in my observation, they're back strong.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a wonderful stay, a highlight of our time in Nicaragua. The view from the roof top terrace is spectacular, centrally located with bathrooms to die for. We were extremely lucky and met both proprietors who were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the area and ensured that their guests had an exceptional experience. Comfy beds, very good quality linen and good choice of breakfast. Treat yourself and thank you Terrie
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very accomodating
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect- just far enough from the Central Park so it is peaceful, but also near a few great restaurants and sites. The staff was amazing. We interacted mostly with Grethell and she was so helpful and sweet. The space is so beautiful with a lush garden, nice swimming pool and picturesque terrace on the roof. The breakfast was also a great perk- fresh, filling and quite delicious! We really enjoyed our stay here and would gladly stay again if we happen to pass through Granada on another trip.
Cons: Not one negative thing to say here!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a beautiful small boutique hotel. From the central location, cute pool, furniture, gardens, staff and breakfast, we loved everything. But our king suite (room #1) was really special. We had a completely private hidden balcony over the courtyard completely hiding you by vines and flowers and terracotta roof tops. The king bed was great with mosquito netting. Shower was really beautiful. View overlooking gardens. Spacious room. AC, ceiling fan, floor fan and mini fridge. You can tell they thought about every detail to design the room. And finally, a great price including breakfast. I looked at so many properties, and so glad I picked them. You should too without hesitation.
Cons: The floor fan in the room is noisy. Maybe get a new one.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in a nice city. Friendly staff and awesome breakfast. Absolut quiet rooms in just three minutes walk to the main plaza
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The eating area in the outside courtyard was fabulous. Great location to walk around Granada. I’d definitely live here if I could. Also, nice veranda to sit outside in the evening and open air shower. Loved it!
Cons: Not so much that I didn’t like but we missed breakfast because it ended at 9:30.

Pros: Everything. The owner was super nice with us. We were concerned about the last disturbs in Nicaragua and the owner answered our e-mails so quickly and was so helpful and nice with us.

Pros: Excellent Mrs. Daniela from reception helped with everything. Location, next to the main square (Parque Central).
Cons: Poor breakfast. Swimming pool with no circulating water all the time makes water unfreshed, especially back swimming pool. Swiming pool bars out of order. Most of the staff speak only Spanish.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and the services they provide. They picked me from managua late at night in a very nice vehicle and I felt completely safe. Julian arranged for your services with a very knowledgeable tour guide named Wilfredo Guamamuz. I recommend both of those young men to drive you around and provide tour services!!!☺️
Cons: That I didn't stay longer.
