Pros: This Bed and Breakfast was excellent! The owners, Kim and Patrick, were welcoming, friendly and informed. The breakfast was excellent (I had Eggs Benedict and they were perfect). The location is only 1 block from downtown. We were attending a concert at the Ironstone Vineyard and it was about a 20 minute drive. We will definitely go back!

Pros: Location was great. Loved The Prospector room. Close to downtown
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This property was recently bought. The new owners were incredibly hospitable. The property is one short block to the historic Sonira downtown. Once iarrived I didnt have to get in my car for dinner or shopping.
Cons: Though the rooms, bathrooms, and common areas were very clean, the carpets are old. Though it was not a problem for me, the staircase to the room I stayed in was steep and narrow. The owner Kim happily offered to help me carry my bags, but I was fine on my own.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really nice, very helpful, and very concerned that our stay was pleasant. The location was 1block from Main Street. The breakfast we got was marvelous.

7.1 Good
Cons: There should be a way to know that this place does not allow children. We had to change our hotel last minute. Fortunately the manager helped us to find a place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the old time decor in the bar & restaurant area also the background music. The local beers & wines were superb and the food was pretty amazing. Our room was extremely comfortable & we could just imagine being in our favourite Western film. Sitting on the balcony was very relaxing watching the world go by. Staff were very friendly & informative. Plenty on street parking or alternatively a car park next door.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the authenticity of the place, the kindness of the staff.
7.5 Good
Pros: The history and the stories.
Cons: The “included” breakfast was a bit weak. Quiche and scones cut into bite-sized portions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the two headed shower, comfortable bed and great breakfast. Staff was very nice.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Steven was really hospitable and introduced the remarkable 160-year history of the hotel! Food at the hotel was good. Advice on events was also provided - we went to Father's Day Fly-in at Columbia Airport nearby. Very impressive.
7.9 Good
Pros: We liked just about everything at this hotel. The overall ambiance is quite good and it was a fun little stop on the way to Yosemite. The soaking tub room was a nice touch. Plenty of surfaces in the room's bathroom for both our toiletries. The attached restaurant served some nice offerings and the included breakfast was minimal but good.
Cons: Unfortunately, the AC wasn't cranking out enough "cool" for our room, and it was the classically loud in-window style unit. To add to that, we must have been above the venting system for the restaurant's kitchen and that added to the noise. I suspect people on the other side of the hotel may not have had the kitchen vent noise issue (Room 10).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great location great time thanks you
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a great historic hotel. The tub room was a wonderful treat.
Cons: The food although not bad, was not great either.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room #1, powerful shower , good breakfast & we stayed for evening meal we sat outside under the vines that was good too , stayed for a few drinks after in the bar & the bar tender she was good fun. Nice town to stop off in between Yosemite Park & Sacramento. Walked around town & upto Railtown a few blocks away
Cons: Coffee is left on the hallway @ 7am , I went to get some @ 7:30 & only one cup was left & the coffee dispenser was empty , the hotel wasn't full that night so should of been able to supply more, my only small grumble.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfy and plush, bathroom was spotless, breakfast was delicious as always, lots of choices and fresh. This is our go-to hotel when we hit the concerts at Ironstone, and the lady at check-in was delightful, very personable!

Pros: We loved the location and the clean spacious room Jamestown is a beautiful place and the railway Inn a great place to base to see the area Thank You
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Convenient and close to everything that I was in town to do.
Cons: Bad internet connection - had to go to swimming pool to use wi fi.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Fun little town. Very walkable. Motel was cute, fun.
Cons: Room was very dirty. I don't mind "old school" facilities, but I prefer a clean room. One mattress was VERY squeaky. No bar of soap in bathroom - just shampoo. Shower curtain was dirty and moldy. Carpet was unspeakable- see picture. All double queen rooms were upstairs.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location Staff Quietly
Cons: Everything great
5.4 Okay
Cons: They over booked and put us in a motel down the road. Not a place I would normally have chosen. The wall shaker air conditioner didn't do much to cool the room. Since we weren't there to stay in the room it worked to lay our heads down.
7.9 Good
Pros: We stayed in our way to Yosemite park, and it was a nice room. Very good value for money.
Cons: It's pretty good, there is nothing really that we dislike. We wanted to know where to grab breakfast and couldn't find anyone at reception, but not a big deal.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent location.
Cons: Bathroom had some ants in it. Concerning thinking they might be in the bed but they were not. Not a deal breaker incident and could happen anywhere. We have this issue at our Condo so ants are not a pleasure for us to see. It is a war dealing with them.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location next to shops and restaurants.
Cons: Mattresses could have been a little better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome place. Friendly staff.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Ok for a stopover if arriving late at night and leaving early in the morning - easy access to Yosemite.
Cons: Property wasn’t ready for check in, we arrived at 2pm which is the advertised check in time. They then rushed the cleaning which meant that there was obvious bits missed. Could hear a lot from other rooms.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: proximity to downtown Jamestown
Cons: NO
4.0 Okay
Pros: Great innkeeper and very nice.
Cons: No frills, hair in bathtub and on wash cloth. Blankets and sheets were rough and itchy. Smoking is allowed right out side the room so second story rooms are getting second hand smoke.

7.9 Good (655 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Aladdin Inn in Sonora, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Black Oak Casino and Sierra Repertory Theater. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bathrooms were basic and simple but extremely clean what was a huge plus! Breakfast was a great treat!
Cons: Please get rid of that nasty stinky carpet. Without that room will smell normal and will not require so much ventilation with window open and the aircon on full blast. Not very important but towels are due to be replaced with something new, and the old one turn into rugs :-)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: great breakfast ... nice staff good location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a gem. .clean room, great staff. Excellent free breakfast . Couldn't ask for more. . Another must go is the Gus' Resteraunt . Which is 3 miles away. Best food in town !!! The Columbia historic state. Park is 8 miles away. My kids love it.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed and pillows very comfortable, room was clean, no odor. Very happy with the room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast options were really nice and the pool seemed inviting, though we did not get to use it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, good location and good price.
Cons: Only negative was the person upstairs walked around the room all night long and we could hear it. If staying again, I would ask for second floor.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Super fast wifi is always appreciated
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I stayed more than one night as the location is GREAT! VERY close to everything right off Hwy. 108, EZ access in & out of hotel property, food, coffee, shopping all within 2 miles too... coffee shop on property is great for breakfast & saves time & frustration 1st thing in the a.m. AMAZED @ how quiet is was, actually slept good despite it being full house-the place was packed with workers & trucks, very friendly, BBQing & there to rest & recuperate & do it all again early the next mornings. Good set up in basic bathroom, adjustable pressure handle for tub for a change! Hot water. Table to eat @ & use as desk. Bed was fine, rooms VERY clean, look refurbished. AC worked well too. Staff warmed up if u r nice to them. I think they'd actually DO something if we called office over noisy jerks, or hookers slamming in & out of doors at 2am, unlike other motels/hotels. Here's to civilized work crews that don't yell & scream or bring hookers into the place!
Cons: Would be a great & keep it full year round if rates were negotiable for long term guests who aren't a problem, such as businesses & house hunters like me. $100 or more a day, is a lot of money anywhere for 25 + days!! Local businesses get us as regulars too, & more recommendations for their site, such as this, now.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanlines and swimming pool
Cons: No breakfasts
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were great and beds were comfortable

4.6 Okay
Cons: Air conditioner was noisy and could not adjust or turn off
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Palm Hotel is a beautifully restored hotel from the late 1800's. Located in Jamestown, CA, just a short walk to shops and eateries. Paula served us hot and tasty breakfasts to start our day. We staid in an elegantly decorated room with antiques and tucked away conveniences; microwave, small frig. Paula is a wonderful hostess. She managed to take care of our needs, kept a cheerful happy to please attitude and made us feel so welcome and at home. We have staid in many beautiful hotels around the world, but the Palm, along with Paula's kind and thoughtful caring was our favorite. It made us feel transferred back to the 1880's graceful living and gracious hospitality.
Cons: Nothing. We were completely satisfied.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient to the places we wanted to visit
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hot breakfast, friendly and helpful host, hot and strong showers and the overall ambiance of the place make the Palm Hotel an experience to remember. It is tastefully decorated in line with the history of the region without sacrificing the requirements of today's visitors.
Cons: Slightly larger refrigerator would be useful.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was an old quaint historic house with different rooms. Paula the host was so awesome. She had the place all in order and clean. She made us feel so comfortable. She made an awesome breakfast from the eggs from her chickens! And a pie from the fruit trees outside!
Cons: The only thing that our room #6 didnt have was a mini fridge. There is room in a cabinet for one. But she let us put our waters and wine and left overs in her big fridge. Very nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome hospitality, good breakfast and traditional atmosphere of each room
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Paula the hostess is amazing! It was our anniversary and she made our stay even more special! Roses, Chocolate cake, and Breakfast in bed in the morning! Such great personal attention always makes us come back!
4.6 Okay
Pros: Air Conditioning was great to have on hot days. However, the AC was probably being turned off by the main switch by the host after 9am which meant that if we wanted to sleep in late it would get too hot in the room. The bathroom was clean. That was good to have. The microwave and mini fridge in the room were brand new.
Cons: Everything in the house is still pretty old even though some reviews says it has been upgraded. The host herself said on many occasions that her microwave is so old, her waffle machine is so old, her cooking range is too old.. too worried to touch the cupboard as the door would fall off.. breakfast was average. Bed and breakfast inns usually serve great options for breakfast but this was ok. Nothing impressive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is perfect!! Thanks a lot!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The gal that runs The Palm is super, very ...friendly and helpful. Great breakfast, clean room and very, very charming...old fashioned and comfortable...not a 5 star hotel, but a llovely B&B get away just a very short walk to the main drag! Plenty of towels and pillows!
Cons: A little tougher on a motorcycle which we were on due to gravel drive, but host allowed the bikes on the tile patio which was ok.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location and breakfast was great. We were very pleased with the manager of The Palm, Paula. She gives the best personalized service, and has a wonderful welcoming attitude!

5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly reception staff :-) Sonora a lovely historic town with Colombia State Park only 5 mins away Breakfast good though
Cons: Dirty carpets - booked for 3 but only had enough towels for 2 people and not enough cups for coffee Room v noisy
7.1 Good
Pros: Love the historic nature and downtown location.
Cons: Location is difficult because it sits on the main drag and traffic is loud and constant until about 11:30 pm, then starts up again early in the morning. The hotel provides ear plugs, but they're not much help.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Worked out great for snow hitting our area hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were clean, modern, and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding in its selection and variety. Great place to stay. Not crowded
Cons: Parking was not close. Close to major street and you could hear the traffic at night sometimes.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was a mess. Room was full, no tables available. Food offerings were mediocre at best, the waffle maker was caked on with batter and staff had not tended to it. We ended up going up the street to a nice breakfast place, sat down and were served for a very modest price.
Cons: The room was old, but the bathroom was antique. The sink was chipped all over and should have been replaced years ago. Two separate faucets for hot and cold water, should be single handle to mix temp. Tub was grungy. Pipes banged like heck every time the toilet flushed. The AC unit was so incredibly loud we could not sleep. Had to turn it off and open a window and sleep through the street noise which was softer than the AC unit.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice City Nice building
Cons: Heavy traffic much noice, papeplates en plastick knife to use at breakfast
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Swimming pool, breakfast,
Cons: Mouldy bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice hotel with a historic vibe. Comfortable room and bathroom. Free parking for guests. Good breakfast. Nice pool. Bonus: some old artifacts that I only saw on movies, like windows and phones :)
Cons: the old-style windows didn't work well and there was no ventilation in the bathroom.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was super convenient to explore downtown sonora and the area around it. The beds were very comfortable and we were excited to be able to have the dog with us.
Cons: The room was a bit older and did smell a bit like it had been a smoking room. That may have been why it was a pet-friendly room. The room was also a bit.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The historic charm
Cons: It's an old hotel. The plumbing is very loud (sounds like a car crashed thru a wall when the people above us flushed the toilet. The Inn needs to update the plumbing and bathrooms. The breakfast that was provided was below average and nothing tasted goo
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and historic. Great staff. Nice pool. Walking distance from main street which is also historic.
Cons: We were on road so a little noisy but nothing to complain about!
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was great, breakfast could had more hot choiced
Cons: Housekeeping was terrible, said they were going to come back and never dud

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The location was good for Columbia state park. A few nice eating places in the town within walking distance.
Cons: Our room was on the front of the property which was next to a very busy road which was noisy all night. There was AC in the room but we had to switch it off as it was bringing in the smoke and cigar smell from people sitting smoking outside of our bedroom on the porch. The room was in need of a revamp ie. The shower curtain was very dirty and the pillows were very stained (see photos). On our arrival, an old towel was hung against the door window, (presumeably previous guests had done it to block out the light) so we left it but it looked dirty and also fell down in the night with the net curtain leaving us on show as we slept. There was a basic breakfast which was fine - we had to look for this ourselves as it was in a room at the back of the property but we weren't told about it in advance. We would have liked to have spoken to the owners before our departure about our stay but the desk was just a key drop when we left.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was an amazing find. It is a historic hotel which has been kept in pristine condition. The rooms were large, the beds were super comfy and it was very clean. The staff were very friendly and warm the entire visit. It is a smaller hotel with a lovely sitting area out back with a beautiful pool. Word goes that it is the most haunted hotel in Sonora and surrounding areas, and if you’re intrigued by things like this, rooms 10,11 and 12 might be your thing. Our room was basically uneventful, and I had the best sleep in nights. I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Breakfast didn’t start until 7:30, and we had to be on the road a little earlier so I can’t comment on the food. Wish I could. Everything else was perfect.
4.2 Okay
Pros: I loved how nice the care takers there were. They were very pleasant and helpful
Cons: No microwave,Hair dryer was broken. No acessabiliry to a microwave and no coffee in room or on property. For 150.00 Should of had these features.Over all had a great stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A gold rush era building nicely adapted to modern use. For example the bathroom seems nicely modernized/updated but retains the quirky look of a bath added to a building that did not feature indoor plumbing when built. I would bet that no two rooms are configured alike. The breakfast room was originally a small bar and the decor is fascinating. The breakfast menu includes egg bake and coffee cake which gives it a B&B feel. My favorite part is sitting on the veranda in front of my room in a rocking chair looking out at the town and the opposing hillside. Very relaxing. Furnished with antiques but with a comfortable bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved all the historic features of the Gunn Hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast was a bit disappointing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The place is historic and unique. Everything is clean and well cared for.
Cons: Window AC unit was noisy and ran continuously.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location was great
Cons: Internet did not work, room was clean but looked tired
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Staff was friendly, but pretty unhelpful. We contacted them several times about issues of the room and seemed to not care. TV didn't work and was never looked at during our stay. Room we stayed in faced the road, so mornings were very loud, hope you don't like to sleep in!
7.1 Good
Pros: Quirky old building
Cons: Absent staff at breakfast time. Rather casual room makeup.
7.9 Good
Pros: Quaint, charming Historic Hotel in Sonora. Very clean, nice staff.
Cons: Climbing the very high street to go to the parking lot. About a 30 min drive from our concert venue in Murphys.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, friendly and helpful... Location to downtown was perfect for a walk before dinner.
Cons: Air conditioner worked too well...

Pros: . We’ve stayed twice. Would do it again. Hard to stay a day and catch rays with such a late check in and early check out though. Pool is ok. Private usually. Nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room with a working freezer. Staff is friendly.
Cons: Shower curtain had mold and needed replaced. And $30 for a one hour late check out is ridiculous. I travel for a living and never had to pay a late check out. Dumb!
7.1 Good
Pros: I think I was screwed with a second pet fee. Initially cost appears to include pets then they charge again
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: location pool

Cons: Way too expensive for this Not so clean, no breakfast, funny smell
5.0 Okay
Pros: It meet the need but could be a lot better. Toliet paper wasn't even as good as s rest stop. Front desk very I'm personable. And the bed had sunken areas. Definitely need to be replaced. And the coffee was so cheap 1 for 2 persons.
Cons: It met the need but is in need of much improvement
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location suited us to travel to our next destination. It was nice that this hotel had a lovely pool
5.4 Okay
Cons: Even though we wanted to cancel our staying in the location 10 minutes after booking on a Sunday the alrealy took the money and didnt want to return it. The communication with a receptionist was not professional and not as nice as I was used to in USA.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: That at least it was driving distance to a few different towns.
Cons: The reviews said things where walking distance so not true, the rooms smelled like dust. Coffee pot was dirty and when I was walking I got my toes stuff in someone else's hair. And for the price to have no muffins or anything for brwafast of even water wasn't great. We went somewhere else right in town and paid less with everything walking distance.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: None
7.5 Good

6.3 Good
Pros: Close to town and eating establishments. Continental breakfast was ok.
Cons: Parking was a little tight. Room dated and needs upgrade. Television selection limited.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Virtually nothing but proximity to downtown.
Cons: This property was filthy. It was noisy, it was filled with construction workers that were smoking tobacco and pot outside of the non-smoking rooms. The rooms facing Washington street were subjected to vehicle traffic noise all night long. The rooms haven't been upgraded or renovated EVER. The carpets were filthy and bathroom base boards were also filthy. This hotel was only slightly better than sleeping under a tree. One of our friend's room had a leaking toilet at the base and the room smelled like mold. Never stayed anywhere worse.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: There is a timed air freshener in the room that goes off every few mins and is pretty loud. It smells good but could probably be set to go off maybe once an hour. It actually woke me up a couple times

Cons: Shower was very dark
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: Toilet paper, shower head, hot water, HD TV.
Cons: Room, atmosphere, condition of the building, noise, towels, smell of the room, parking - this room was a patch work of third world construction and materials. You should never include it in a search. It scores less than zero. What a mistake on my part.
4.6 Okay

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The pool was great!
4.0 Okay
Pros: Cheapest around at last minute.
Cons: Water not hot, deadbolt didn't work.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: There was nothing to like.
Cons: This place is a dump! It is literally home to a variety of undesirable people, many who looked to be drug addicts. Dogs are allowed, but Im not sure they are being cleaned up after. No comforter or bedspread, just a blanket. No hot water, and the toiletries were from a varity of different hotels, some open Best Western stuff and the shower mat was from Holiday Inn. We also had two large spiders in the room.
7.1 Good
Cons: A room for 6 is too tiny
4.2 Okay
Pros: When the staff realized I was very upset with the quality of the accomodations, they did their best to remedy the situation.
Cons: Linens were old with cigarette burns. Complementary items were actually second hand from other hotels. The rooms were extremely run down and unclean. Air conditioner didn't work in one room. Television didn't work in another. Quality of the motel as compared to the amount of charge was seriously unjustified..
