9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spacious rooms with peaceful tranquility. Amazing comfy bed. Rapid wifi with no messing about signing up to pointless things. Brilliant full English breakfast in the morning. I got the room at a special discount y rate. Brilliant.
Cons: Probably a bit understaffed on the morning breakfast shift but I cant take away that they were working hard none the less.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: My room was fantastic for the money, dinner was very nice and the bar area had a real atmosphere made up of nice surroundings and local culture.
Cons: Breakfast didn’t match the quality of the room or the evening meal because both the sausage and eggs lacked colour however the service and the rest of the food was great, my honest thoughts are why scrimp on cheap eggs and sausages when everything else you do is exceptional. This is in no way trying to put the establishment down only to point out my view on a breakfast.

Pros: Very good value! Surprisingly quiet stay, despite adjoining the traffic light crossroads of 2 A-Roads! Good position- is easy to reach. For the price it had everything I needed, including a hairdryer. The welcome was lovely and friendly - reassuring for a lone female traveller! Good breakfast.
Cons: Being almost the last arrival I had to have help squeezing into the car park - but this was cheerily offered! (The use of more and more bigger vehicles, especially SUVs, is meaning that I'm increasingly encountering parking issues where there is a limited size carpark!)

5.4 Okay
Pros: One staff member was professional, friendly and efficient (served us our breakfast in the morning)
Cons: The food was not good. It certainly wasn’t anything close to the pictures in the menu. Staff forgot to bring drinks, one staff member practically threw the vegetable dish on the table, another brought us different sauces to the ones we’d asked for. A fizzy drink we ordered was completely flat, though this was resolved. All small things but these combined made it a disappointing visit. The ladies toilets smelt terrible too. We stayed at the hotel too. The room was adequate but not great. The promised and pre arranged extra bed was not there when we arrived, though this was sorted quickly. We will be visiting the area regularly but we won’t stay here again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We had to leave before the actual breakfast but these guys had breakfast at the door in the morning for us.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location and the staff were very friendly. The room was large and the hotel has a large garden. It is a lovely building and full of historic features
Cons: It was badly run and a bit chaotic. It wasn't very clean and it is in need of a major refurbishment. The room we had was just a large room with little facilities. It could have done with two armed chairs and a coffee table. Everything looked a bit neglected and grubby. Were charged when we arrived even though I had already paid in advance. We were refunded after I pointed out that the stay had been paid already. The breakfast was included but that consisted of individual cereal packets and toast. If you wanted a Full English this was an extra £7.60!!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff so helpful and friendly. Restaurant great value and quality
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast but you pay extra for it!
Cons: The accommodation advertises as "breakfast included", but that breakfast just consists of packets of cereal. For a cooked breakfast you have to pay an extra £7. On a Sunday, breakfast isn't served till 09:00.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was what I needed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good spacious room overlooking a nice large garden with seating areas for guests. Staff were pleasant and we enjoyed an excellent evening meal in the restaurant. Nice central location in Barrow upon Soar.
Cons: Maybe duvets rather than blankets would have worked better for us.

7.9 Good
Pros: Comfy, large room, helpful staff
Cons: Could do with a bit of updating in the rooms and plugs more accessible to the bed.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: superb staff
Cons: Pillows and scrambled egg....
5.0 Okay
Pros: Convenient location for the University.
Cons: Breakfast was awful. Watery eggs, cheap tasteless sausages, weird salty mushrooms.
7.0 Good
Pros: I had a work training course in nearby Shepshed so needed somewhere to stay. The Link was the closest hotel to my training course. I had my dinner in my room (a steak and chips) which was surprisingly excellent. The room was clean, although basic. And the buffet breakfast was also very good.
Cons: The hotel was of a basic quality, which suited my stay away, but the price was much higher than that. Additionally, I had booked this hotel as it stated there were 'gym facilities' at the hotel but these facilities were off-site, which wasn't convenient.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, spacious venue with good facilities!
Overview Reviews
When you stay at The Cedars Hotel & Restaurant in Loughborough, you'll be in the suburbs, within a 15-minute drive of Loughborough University and Highcross Shopping Centre. Featured amenities include express check-out, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good, beers and ciders where cold, a good choice of snacks and the staff are warm welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel is warm, homey, comfortable and a nice place to come back after a bust day.
Cons: I would recommend a use of a long handled duster around the ceiling and corners as there were a few cobwebs, vacuuming dust bunny from behind the radiators and a lick of paint in the bathroom which have been updated with new fixtures but the Polyfiller is still showing
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location for my visit to Loughborough and being able to leave my car in the car park early.
Cons: The restaurant and food, the restaurant felt like a works canteen and the food was terrible. I had stroganoff, cheesecake and a soft drink. Stroganoff was like dishwater and the cheesecake was frozen. All this for £17.45p Avoid!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great quality evening meal.
Cons: Bright blue light on room heater disturbing to sleep.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: piping hot. Lovely waitress.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for steam railway photographers. Parking is free and the town easy to reach. The evening meal was good value.
Cons: The hotel does look a bit tired. Bedrooms would benefit from updating and trivial tasks like having sink plugs that keep water in the sink need sorting out. The cold buffet for breakfast was poor, only two slices of ham and cheese for a busy hotel and no fresh fruit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location perfect for visiting Great Central Railway. Great viewing spot beside lines in hotel garden. Will use again for future visits.
Cons: Long wait for restaurant meal. Didn't seem too busy, so was surprised at nearly 1 hour from ordering to food.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff night shift
Cons: Shower
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Local to steam train stay

1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing the whole experience was abysmal, causing us to cut our stay short. I would like to be refunded the cost of one nights stay plus a refund of parking, this equates to £44.50
Cons: Everything the whole hotel was dirty, dated and smelt awful. THe breakfast was greasy, food reheated probably from the morning before, staff was dressed shabbily. Cleaning was non existent.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Close to city centre, bars and restaurants
Cons: The bed was very hard
6.3 Good
Cons: Very dated. Mattress in need of update as springs in back all night
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: It was centrally located.
Cons: A very outdated hotel which needs a huge refurb. The bar was so cold we had to keep our coats on. The windows throughout were ill-fitting so the wind howled round then all night. A large piece of corrugated plastic roofing rattled outside the room all night. The bedroom walls were so thin it was possible to overhear conversations being held in the room next door. Breakfast was served until 0930 but by 0900 the heat under the cooked breakfast had been turned off so the food was almost cold. The staff were disinterested in the few customers in the hotel. There has not yet been any follow up to the complaint made.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Central location with free parking. Good staff. Nice reception area. Value for moneyish.
Cons: Rooms dated. Beds small and hard. Basic rooms. Buffet breakfast at £9.95 not vfm.
1.0 Poor
Cons: Very basic accommodation - not at all what we were expecting for a Ramada. The beds sheets were dirty. Reported to the Reception staff who moved us and promised a full refund, yet despite chasing for this, I am still waiting. When you have an unhappy client, you shouldn't make it worse by not refunding them immediately. Customer service severely lacking. Would definitely not stay there again.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location good for centre of town
Cons: A bit scruffy
