Just been forced to pay insurance because I couldn’t make payments of the deposit… wouldn’t allow me to make 2 payments and my card wouldn’t do the larger amount in one transaction

Was told I needed to pay an extra £200 on top of the price that I had been quoted on the website. Apparently, because I had booked through a US website, insurance hadn't been included in the original quote!!

drop off at Gatwick was difficult. its at a hotel in the middle of a very confusing one way system, there are no visible signs until you get into the car park and if youre dropping it off on a sunday like I was theres no one to help you. I parked next to a van with the easirent logo on it so I assume it was the right place but the spaces had hertx written on the ground by them so I may well end up with a fine. who knows.

Easirent is a smaller rental company. At Manchester England, they are not located with the other car rental companies, so you to call them and wait for them to pick you up. When you first land, and you don’t have a phone, how are you going to call them? It took us an hour to figure out the phone situation and finally get picked up. The staff at Manchester was very nice, but way too busy. It took another 30 minutes just to talk to someone. Then once all of the paperwork was done, our car wasn’t ready. We had to wait another 10 minutes for them to clean the car. The car itself had seen better days. It had over 50,000 miles. The trim around the rear view mirror was missing. The wipers were terrible and needed to be replaced. The intermittent wiper feature didn’t work. The trunk never opened on the first try; we literally had to unlock the trunk once, then pry up the trunk with our fingers, and then release the trunk a second time. The car was littered with scrapes and dings. We constantly had a warning that the battery in the remote needed to be replaced. And the gas tank was at 3/8 full when we got it. Our final drop off was in Aberdeen Scotland. There, the drop point is in a hotel. We were there before they opened and had to use the drop box. It was a gray box with no markings that says Easirent or “night drop”. Two days later, I still don’t have confirmation that my rental is complete. I would not rent from Easirent again.

They tried to charge me double when I went to pick the car up. They said insurance was not included. There was no mention of this in the emails and agreement. I lost 5 hours and ended up walking away as I was disgusted with the situation. In fairness, the manager at the centre was polite and helpful and admitted the website was not transparent, but there was nothing he could do.

So many issues. Called for shuttle pickup at airport. Waited an hour (was told he would be there in 15 min). When we asked why he was so late, we were told he was taking his lunch break. 😳 Car was dirty…. Inside and out We were told that we had to buy the extra insurance (80£) even though we have car insurance that covers everything. They insisted that we must buy the extra insurance. We heard this same conversation with other customers as we were picking up and dropping off. Customers were mad! This is a shoddy operation. Never going to rent from them again.

The car ended up being 4 times more expensive than advertised. Personal weren’t very nice and weren’t trying to be very helpful. Would definitely not use this service again, especially not through kayak/priceline. There’s no transparency on how much the car actually costs.

- - AVOID AT ALL COSTS - or it WILL COST YOU! - - £150 for a small car for 6 days - GREAT it came in below all the competitors. Then.... it just gets worse.. So the rental place is Not at the Airport and you could be waiting a while to get their minibus out to the middle of nowhere, and THEN... you are in their clutches. They KNOW you are stranded with them in their secure compound, so this is where they start turning the price knife. My £150 literally doubled to £300 because I did not have my own CDW (collision damage waiver). of course I don't! Only in USA do they have the Insurance, taxes etc ON TOP of the quoted price. - But these guys behind the "My Hands are Tied My Friend" polished sales lines, will squeeze you on so many angles - with the fear of God, if anything at all happens to the vehicle wanting a whopping £1500 on your creditcard ON TOP of the fee, in case anything happens AND ….. it takes 28days to get it back (check!). so a £150 car rental - with No * Extra Costs advertised. ending up costing me over £350!!!! (NOT including the deposit holding fee). then... if you want it just one more day - the advertised day rate of £24 goes to...... Brace Yourself Seriously!!!!!! £234.00 - OMG - it was cheaper to take it back and pay a £150 UBER EXEC to be driven to my next location with my Bags. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!! YES - AVOID at all COSTS... so an advertised car @24 per day (£150) ended up costing £83 per day (£581) before costs!!!! This needs investigating - I am now collating evidence for the Advertising Standards Agency!

Staff was friendly as they charged me double the agreed-upon price.Payment due at pickup doubled from what I agreed upon when I hired the car via Kayak. I didn't have time to argue the charges because I was on vacation and had time-sensitive plans. This company seems to prey on foreigners in this type of situation. Advertise a low price, double it upon arrival.
