Pros (+) The location was amazing right in the northern quarter and a short walk away from heaps of pubs. Also only a 10 minute walk away from Piccadilly Station. The staff were friendly and very helpful. To be fair you get what you pay for and it was a warm place to sleep.
Cons (-) Everything kind of looked dirty. The bathrooms were actually filthy and the showers barely worked. The beds were placed very inconveniently and there was only one semi accessible power outlet In the room for 10 people. Also there was no curtains or anything so privacy was minimal. Pros (+) The high points were location and the included breakfast (probably the best free breakfast I've ever had at a hostel in the UK). The hostel is located right in the trendy Northern Quarter and is quite close to Manchester Picadilly. Great for solo travel and for young people looking to explore the hipster paradise of Northern Manchester.
Cons (-) The facilities left a lot to be desired. Ancient bathroom facilities, heinous showers that only let out cold water in short spurts, and thin mattresses through which the wire of the bed pokes maliciously.
