Pros: Food & Service was excellent.
Cons: Was hoping for more sunshine
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location nice building and views Bedroom ok
Cons: A little dated in main areas and spa Menu never changed and drinks very expensive at bar
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful view of the beach and the whole bay. There were comfortable chairs to sit by the big window and enjoy the birds, the sea, the sky and the whole panorama of Swanage bay. We go specifically for the seaside experience and The Grand has the best position in the whole of Swanage.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Beds were comfy. Room was warm once we put the heating on. Nice view.
Cons: Lift was a little dodgy. Room was a superior room but not sure why. I thought it wasn’t great value for money. The lighting around the dressing table area was poor (had to move a lamp off the bedside table). The room was cold and felt damp when we arrived. Putting the heating on even low before guests arrive would make it feel more welcoming. At reception we were asked to pay on arrival to which we agreed. On check out we were asked to pay the full bill as it hadn’t been settled. I will be checking that we haven’t paid twice.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice scenery
Cons: The room was too warm at night in Winter time even the windows opened and all the radiator turned off. So I couldn’t sleep well.
7.0 Good
Pros: Mainly The sea view. The room was spacious and clean. Friend staff. Lovely view while eating dinner, really nice food. Late check out.
Cons: Some of the decor, need a little maintenance, the curtains were too short for the window and the shower pressure was non existent, it dribble out. Bed was not quite made properly. Not enough parking for guests.

Pros: Lovely hotel in an excellent position in a quiet part of Swanage. Veiw from our room (40) was amazing. Convieniently positioned on the SW coast path for walking. Staff very attentive and friendly . Hotel very clean.
Cons: The shower in our room needs attention. Im guessing that being on the top floor there is little water pressure so i needed to run around in it to get wet. In the 21st century i would expect something a bit better especially seeing as the whole shower room had recently been refiited.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfortable. Good parking facilities. Great location for shortish walk into town. Really good lounge area. Good dinner.

Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and dry cleaning/laundry services. This hotel has 7 meeting rooms available for events. Limited parking is available onsite.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Staff friendly.
Cons: Smelled strongly of cigarettes in hallway and room despite being a non smoking room. Old, run down, feeling, blanked off balcony being used as a miniature builders yard. Bathroom grout mouldy, damaged walls. Generally felt very tired. Bed uncomfortable to the point where we couldn't sleep and had to leave early to go to a Premier Inn.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was not great , small choice to choose from . The bed was to soft and uncomfortable and the room was too hot . You could here footsteps from the room above and they were heavy footed .
1.0 Poor
Pros: I complained about the room and to the managers credit he did move me to another room. Not better as a view or bed comfort or modern amenities but it was a damn sight better than the other one.
Cons: Horrendous room. No parking even though booking.com says there is parking included. I am going to attach views from room, careful if your squimish you'll vomit. The bed was uncomfortable. The hotel is about 5 minutes from falling apart. Water in the morning takes about 15 minutes to heat up then it becomes scolding and you can't turn it down unless you turn it off and wait for it to cool down. My room was cleaned once without me leaving the sign outside saying clean my room (sounds like a positive but I left my belongings all over the bed)
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Location close to beach and town centre
Cons: Our room was quite a distance from reception, but not a major problem really.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location
Cons: Lack of fridge in the rooms
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was a disaster. We could not stay. We were given a room next to their waste hold area. The window would not open because all the rubbish bins were just outside. The room was tight and horrible. We left immediately.
Cons: See our comments of 'what we liked'. Terrible hotel. Needs total modernisation, as location is good. Need new staff, training, etc. avoid staying there at all costs!
6.5 Good
Pros: Location was great. Very close to restraunts, parking, the Bournemouth Pier and Bournemouth Park However, if you are looking at the cheaper rooms you be better served by Premier Innnext door. Service was poor at the front desk and breakfast and breakfast whilst adequate was not at the quality I would have expected. Staff were very disjointed; my pregnant wife asked for some decaf-tea for our room and was advised "the bar might have some". Would have expected them to sort it out. Room location was in the back of beyond with stair only access. Cheaper rooms at this hotel not recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything lovely place to stay
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: The manager was very rude to us about having food in our room or taking food to the room before we even go to our room. They said we had to have take away outside but due to the situation, coronavirus, no shops were open to take aways so we decided to go to premier inn who were much more acceptable of food in the room and take aways during the bad situation. The other staff were friendly.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Spa facilities with a sea view. My girlfriend loved this! Cheap option but good hotel.
Cons: No car parking which was a shame. Had to park in Bournemouth international centre costing £18. Check in was poor. Had to wait to check in - twice, once for check in and then again to get our key. Then our room was a long walk from reception
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: It is in a very good location and a charming old building
Cons: The room had no windows, I thought we were in a storage cupboard, the shower kept changing temperature and the shower head kept falling down. The bed was tiny and hard. It was a really dreadful hotel.

Cons: chairs in the room were a little old and a bit tired
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were friendly and helpful. Food excellent and we were really pleased with our room which was rated as standard, but we felt was better than standard. Would definitely recommend this gitel and also return ourselves.
Cons: We got a parking space quite quickly but other people visiting did not, so I think the parking could be made better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hotel, on a clif in Bournemouth with an amazing ocean view!
Cons: Nice property, felt like home! Very professional and kind staff, even if we need to check out at 12 am, due to covid 19 and all the restaurants close, because we missed the breakfast, they let us stay till 1pm free of charge so we can ate in our room some food we bought from city. We didn’t mind that the hotel restaurant was close, caz this is our time today and the directives from our government. But they understood and made us fell welcome in any way possible!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Considering the circumstances of this coronavirus, the staff done everything they could to ensure we had a meal for the evening and breakfast. Next time we visit we will 100% be booking here again. No bad words to say.
1.0 Poor
Pros: nothing
Cons: No bar, no restaurant no facilities
9.0 Excellent
Pros: ROOM - We were upgraded to a sea view which was perfect as it was a special trip for my husband's birthday. It was clean, large and comfortable with 2 armchairs overlooking the beach / sea. We were able to sit in the room and read quietly when we wanted to. Lovely bathroom with plenty of quality toiletries and good size towels. Nice to see facecloths. There was a safe, hairdryer and ironing facilities in the room alongside enough hangers (skirts for me, trousers for him) for a short stay. There was plenty of storage space. BREAKFAST - Plenty of choice including a wide variety of cereals, toast making facilities, fresh fruit and a selection of yoghurts (including natural yoghurt on the second day). It might be an idea to tell the hotel if you are vegetarian as there wasn't a Veggie equivalent of a full English breakfast. The alternative was actually better as we had the Eggs Florentine and they were excellent. STAFF - they really couldn't do enough for us and when they knew it was my husband's birthday, we were treated to a glass of Prosecco with our evening meal in Brasserie Blanc - the food was terrific in the restaurant. We were also given a free drink in the Bar the next day. The chef even piped a Birthday message onto a plate with a treat! Everyone smiles and is warm and friendly without being over familiar. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. HOTEL - Check in and out was easy, the hotel is laid out beautifully with quiet areas for sitting and more social areas. Fixtures and fittings are to a high standard and they all work! The small gym room was clean, well maintained and contained everything you would need to work off those pounds gained during dinner! The car park, which whilst not cheap but probably reasonable considering the location, was within the hotels grounds so we felt our car was safe. LOCATION - excellent! Overlooking the sea, we spent a great deal of time reading and looking out across the water. Very calm and soothing.
Cons: Nothing - everything was great.

6.0 Good
Pros: Bar food was good
Cons: No WiFi - terrible connection after advertising free WiFi
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Staff were lovely and extremely helpful. Shower was great and kept temperature. Close to city centre only a few minutes drive or 15 minute walk to local supermarket. 5 mins in car to seafront. Breakfast was hot and good selection of usual buffet style (after first morning) though still no option of butter for toast. Overall it was a classic you get what you pay for and for room only (breakfast £7.50 each morning) it done the job.
Cons: Beds were very small and hard. Room I was in was very close to reception and bar and you could here everything, walls very thin. Furniture in bar area had seen better days. It just looked extremely grubby. Vending machines often were out of order. Restaurant was never open during our 4 day trip for lunch or evening meal even though there was a competition going on with 100+ guests. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles the first morning, had to ask for clean cutlery, there was very little stock to choose from and their margarine is awful. No option of butter.
