Great Location and cool outdoor bar area
Location was amazing...steps from the main heart of South Beach with restaurants and bars within 5-minute walk. The outdoor bar was cool too where they had a ton of seating and games.
The rooms were a bit old and mine had a bit of a musty smell. Decor looks nice, but was pretty basic. The staff wasn't particularly friendly. Pool is small and didn't seem to get much sun

Location for the price was unbeatable. Free cabanas at the pool on a first come first serve basis. Staff was the most genuinely friendly out of any hotel we've ever stayed at in Miami. Bartenders were great and the breakfast was awesome. The hall is our new go to spot!
We were in a room near the lobby our first night. It was relentlessly loud and the ac was not manual and was stuck at 78. BUT! We were moved to a new room with no hesitation when we asked.

Good value
Clean, in the middle of south beach, staff is courteous and responsive (in particular Omar), many extras on site.
Even in the newly renovated building, few rooms have good views (a common south beach problem), but they do not smell like mildew as ones in the older hotel do. Silicone swimming earplugs make the noise go away from from hallway parties, door slamming, roadway, bar, stairway; that applies to noise from all South Beach hotels. Bathrooms do not have exhaust fans to clear up steam or smell, however the air conditioning clears up humidity pretty well.

Annual Girls Trip
The hotel was centrally located and we were able to walk everywhere! The outdoor pool and bar area was great and the cabana boy Justin on the beach was awesome. The daily staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. The bellboys were great as well.
The manager Patrick has the worst attitude I have ever experienced from a hospitality manager. Like most young people in south beach we came to party and had 4 girls in a room in a hotel with thin walls so naturally we received a noise complaint at 4am the staff contacted us and we respectfully did our best to bring down our noise level. However the next morning at 10am Patrick called the room and demanded that we quiet down (4 girls talking in a room getting ready for the beach) I advised that we were not making excessive noise. Patrick became angry and argumentative began to chastise me as if I was a child and threatened that if a guest asked for a refund them he will be charging my card for their room! At that point I went to the front desk and talked to Patrick face about his level of disrespect to a patron. We were on the first floor near The lobby which was simply a noisy area in general. In my opinion Patrick appeared to hold prejudices against us as four black females clearly not knowing that there was a lawyer, therapist, government investigator and Fortune 500 company manager staying in the room. The other staff was great, but Patrick's behavior will keep me from staying at this hotel in the future!

Good location, less-than-attentive staff
Easy walk to the beach with affordable umbrella rentals. Sunny's is a great bar, with friendly bartenders and great punch.
Our room's wooden floors were cracked and missing in some places, causing my travel companion to cut his foot and get a splinter. There were long lines at check-in and check-out, as well as at the beach to get your chairs and umbrellas. The staff was not attentive or helpful—I asked for matches, they didn't have any and just shrugged their shoulders. They would not allow us to reheat our food in their microwave, even though my travel companion observes strict dietary laws that their facilities could not accommodate. The manager said she would provide us drink vouchers as an apology, but never followed through with that. Any time I approached the front desk, the staff member was on their personal cell phone. Overall, the hotel could use a renovation and more professional staff.
