to pay for carparking in there carpark when you have paid them over £300 to stay for to nights
Comfort of room.
the way 2 staff chatted with a guest whilst others were waiting to be served. came accross as quite rude
nothing. did not like my stay at the hotel at all,to start with no room left in parking, the shower in our room was not good, the bar staff where not very nice and very expensive for what it is .will not be returning.
The hotel was kept to a very high standard and we were pleased with every aspect of it
the room was very noisey
Quality much like all in chain but staff very friendly and efficient, keen to please Nothing
There was an air of unobtrusive efficiency Many of the breakfast plates were dirty!
location of hotel breakfast on saturday was poor - not enough food, poor service. had to sort ourselves out and after requesting items still did not gwet them. have filled in complaint to hotel as above
The breakfast was superb. Both food and service were exceptional. The room was dark. The weather was bad and therefore the light outside was poor, but I was unable to find a position where I could sit and read comfortably. There was not a light which I could sit under.
The bed was awesome All good
I was upgraded to the Presidential Suite which is normally £1400 per night. Amazing hotel!!!!
Excellent customer care in every way. Always ready to help but not intrusive. Nothing
We were a little disappointed with our room - we stayed in the classic suite and have stayed in many 4 star hotels which have far nicer rooms.
Polite and helpful staff, beautiful room, excellent food and facilities. Everything you should be entitled to expect from a 5star hotel.
The situation is ideal A little disappointed with 'The Brasserie'
It was beautiful, clean and luxurious. The staff were very friendly & helpful. An added touch that they would park the car for you - made a big difference on a busy saturday. The food in the Simon Radley restaurant was lovely and the staff were great. We had a fab time.
Great customer service and attitude of staff Prob with hot water making tea lukewarm!
We were celebrating our Silver Wedding - this was a last minute deal and we managed to secure a room for about 50% less of normal rate - on arrival the staff were attentive and after we told them about our Silver Wedding a small complimentary cake was left in the room. We had an automatic upgrade to i think a Classic Deluxe room, which was amazing. This is truly a 5 * hotel, and although only for one night - it lives up to everything described on their website - Amazing... The only thing i would say - is we were not told very much about the SPA facilities, it was a case of find out for yourself - but as we were only in the hotel for one night it wasnt really an issue.
convenience for city centre and out of town journey The migraine-inducing carpet, especially on the stairs! Why do hotels DO this?
Convenient location, car parking available, good breakfast and generally good value. The hotel is old and "tired" and shows its age. But it was clean. Bathroom facilities could do with updating as could bedroom decor..
breakfasts were excellent wide choice of dishes staff very helpfull romm was very clean
The Staff were generally very helpful. The decor is certainly querky but if anything too dark and depressing. It detracts from what could be a nice hotel.
Good breakfast The cleaner left the rubbish bag on the chair after cleaning. Unable to get the WiFi working on my laptop
The welcoming staff and the warm friendly atmosphere. The room was clean and the food was very good Being charged £10 per day for car parking
Beautiful hotel, lovely room, fantastic breakfast. Close to shops, great choice of bars and restaurants near by. Really enjoyed our stay. Downside's, Bath in our room was too short, could not lie down in it. The room although beautiful, felt a little cramped, to much furniture me thinks!
Loved the cocktails!! Excellent bar staff. Good morning breakfast set us up nicely for a day's shopping Throughly enjoyed our whole stay
The location of the hotel handy for the train and a free bus to the centre was excellent. Breakfast was one of the best I've had. Hotel staff very friendly Our room was at the front of the hotel, this was very noisy thoughout the night and early hours due to taxi rank outside and parties leaving hotel
good staff nice big hotel
Excellent location to celebrate my friends 40th birthday Some contents were stolen from the boot of my car whilst in the car park
Convenient to town centre Bed Mattress needs changing Hollow in middle.!!!!!!!!!!!
Good value for money and very close to the town centre, ideal and convenient for Christmas shopping. The cook food for breakfast was very limited, just scrambled egg and sausages.
The location was ideal for shopping, short walk to the centre although quite steep if anyone is infirm the inconsideration of other hotel guests who have been out for the night and come back in the middle of the night along corridors being very loud and banging doors, perhaps a notice on all lifts and landing doors saying quiete please think of other guests !!!
clean rooms, helpful staff, free parking. breakfast a bit of a free for all.
Comfortable, clean rooms for a few hours sleep. Basic but exactly what would be required of a crash-pad. Only food available is breakfast. If you're hungry at any other time you only have a vending machine.
The locality and the car parking facility. None
The welcome on arrival at reception. The quality of the Wi-Fi Broadband in the rooms and lobby. The no-nonsense breakfast fare. Lining up for the various breakfast items was a bit unorganised and free-for-all.
Willingness of staff to do extras - order taxis, keep suitcases etc
Parking facilities and location to town center
i found the hotel very clean and the staff friendly and helpful and will stay in it again if i am travelling in that part of england / wales
Food Difficult to get too.
Easy access on roads to hotel and Chester. Rooms clean and the most comfortable beds! Staff very friendly and helpfull. Directions readily available on paper for Chester Zoo and town centre. Childrens meal free when an adult meal purchased. Air conditioning was cool in room throughout the daytime, but came through warm on the evening and throughout the night.
We used the Holiday Inn as an overnight stop to break the journey from Southern Ireland to Lincolnshire. We found it clean, tidy and convenient. Food for vegitarians was limited but the staff tried very hard to accomodate us.
Well fitted, large modern rooms and very clean with every facility that one would require. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Food was very good and swimming pool was lovely and warm Changing room for swimming pool was small
I thought that the room was tidy and clean. Facilities in the room were excellent. The restaurent was too expensive, with a limited menu. It needs a better choice for the cost.
Other nearby catering options nothing
good, friendly staff and a really lovely breakfast.
close to where i needed to be the bed was wet on arrival and I had a glass with a large crack though it at breakfast. No apology was made for either
The size of the executive suite .the well appointed furniture. The quiet location. The location was exellent for moving onto to North Wales
The convenience of the hotel and the disabled facilities were particularly good.
We were upgraded to a suite from a standard double when we got there (although we were not told this initially and only found out later). The room was fabulous, food great (good portions) and reasonably priced (we ate in the bar), drinks not really expensive, good selection of food for breakfast. The jacuzzi bath was not working which we were really looking forward to and when we complained about it noone seemed to know whether there was anything else we needed to do to get it to work, toilet was not secured to floor or wall and wobbled heavily when you got on it, television made a terrible chirping noise and the sound kept going off. a lot of the staff were young and didn't really seem to know answers to questions when asked.
reception staff very polite, clean environment poor noise insulation from other rooms and guests.
The room was quirt and comformable Food was limited and not very applitising. In addition the room alarm clock went off at 12 midnight and the room next door at three mins past midnight. Cleaning staff with a sence of humour not appreciated
I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and good food We could not get a drink after 11.00pm at the bar not even a cup of coffee.
Restuarant good value for money. Breakfast good times and selection
Everything for the price was ideal, thank you.
The receptionist was very cheerful and breakfast was good although the waitress was not very cheerful. No lift, no offer of help with bags, there was a disco until 9.30pm which was loud in the room. Generally the room was ok but the beds could have been more comfortable and queen beds would have been excellent in a twin room.
Unfortunately we did not stay at the Blossoms, we were moved to the Craxton Wood Hotel and were not impressed.
The fetaures of the room fitted well with the period features of Chester. Felt that it may have needed air conditioning, as on the day we stayed it was extremely clammy!
Hotel was tastefully decorated and re-furbished, and was excellent value for money, we had a fantastic stay! The hotel was extremely warm, even with the windows open, and it was snowing outside!! the radiators were always on full heat!
The location was fantastic, and the hotel itself was beautiful. The staff were abrupt, for example when I checked in I explained I had tried to call on several occasions with regard to parking. The receptionist was very abrupt and said 'I've been on my own all day, alright?' Not my problem as far as I'm concerned. Also, the lift is very claustrophic! and I'm not Claustrophobic!!!
location, room size and cleanliness, choice at breakfast was good.Nice to see a choice of fish. Ithought the price of drinks in the bar were over the top.
the location was excellent, and staff friendly and trying their best. General cleanliness in rooms was poor. toilet filthy on arrival ( was cleaned after complaint )cobwebs on bedside lamps, dust on tables and TV, menu was quite expensive, and very limited.
Location and comfort of the hotel Breakfast was a bit chaotic and service could have been quicker
Excellant location and value for money. The car park is offsite if the weather is bad or an elderly person is with you.
It's central position is the only reason we choose to stay at the Blossoms. However thinfs have improved since the re vamp, although there are still areas that need attention. The light fitting falling off the wall, that needed to be fixed. The broken crockery that had to be replaced, the requested wine glasses that never materialised, the ice bucket that took two requests to arrive, and the non exsistant phone call that we asked for to tell us our room was ready.
Excellent location and superb service as always at this hotel None other than could have done with a week of been pampered !
very comfortable room and good leisure facilities. pleasent relaxed restaurant serving excellent food.
Location and the residents bar open till 4 am
i liked the leisure faciities especially the swimming pool which was large and very well kept. the breakfast was fine but some things were slightly over cooked.
swimming pool bathroom suit needs modenisation
Very good location, with park and ride next door. All was good
It was comfortable, had all the facilities I needed on my overnight visit. Most importantly it was just the right temperature, hotels can be too hot! and I liked the speedy pay as you go system.
lovely room bar prices a little expensive
Good quality hotel, but see points below. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. No Air Conditioning, no mini-bar, too close to main road with windows open as too hot without air con.
The staff were extremely pleasant in all areas my sister and I commented on how friendly everyone was. nothing
all in all ok if you need a bed then its ok staff were polite not as friendly as some of the comparative hotels Busy but overflow car park rear with poor signs to advice you Room had signs of where and tear and looking a little worn Rooms compact
hotel location room size and bed size in 'standard' room
Pool & fitness room Dining room staff at breakfast not very helpful or cheerful. Had to request a change to a no smoking room after booking in but this was done without fuss.
I enjoyed my stay just for a chill out relaxing time. Staff were very polite and helpful and I think they felt for me and my friend as the prices were rather high for drinks and food. I thought the prices for food and drink was expensive. At £15 a person for breakfast was too much for me and my friend to pay. And we didn't have an option to just have a couple of rounds of toast. We were told we could wait till 10.30am when they would serve some breakfast in the bar. So we waited from 8.30am for our breakfast only to be told by the barman that we could have had it from 9. So a bit confusing and not much choice.
Expensive Internet and very limited room service menu
Had a few drinks in the hotel bar and had breakfast
The room The restaurant service for breakfast was rubbish. They ran out of plates dishes cereals, croissants, choc pains, yoghurt, coffee was stewed, bacon half cooked. Fawlty towers looked like a five star compared to this hotel. No managerment skills was in place for a busy weekend. A couple waited over 12 mins for some bowls for cereal and in the end i grapped hold of some from the cold well to gave them to the couple which is not my job but the caterer in me could not bare for them to wait any longer.
leaving food, rooms, standards, waiting times for things, price
not too far out of town and quiet. rooms spacious and lots of hot water - someting 5 * hotels cannot provide! early in the evening the bar man was under pressure because he was on his own - but he was polite and proffessional
The staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble. We were attendong a horse race meeting and they ensured that our room was ready at twelve midday two hours before normal check in times in orde rfor us to get changed to enjoy our daym excellent service all tround No
Found it to be very good, could not fault it. No
Staff were very friendly and co-operative. the conference facilities were attractive and well managed My sleep was disturbed several times during the night: I was woken three times by noise outside the corridor in the late/early hours, and once in the night by heavy footsteps overhead. I was then unable to sleep from 6am-7am due to continuous heavy footsteps overhead. the acoustics really need to be reviewed and corrected, with adequate door seals and impact absorbing acoustic treatment to the upstairs floors. sleep is your core business.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable and I can highly recomend the fod from the bar area. Only problem we found was the main restaurant was not fantastic ,the food was average but the bar food was execllent.
nice friendly staff, very clean, good location a few more signs up telling you where things are
Friendly helpfull staff nice standard of hotel
Very attentive staff, nothing too much trouble
Friendly Staff and Atmosphere, Good Food and spacious bedroom with comfortable mattress. Struggling to keep hotel warm during cold snap.
everything at the hotel was excellent but the best thing was the friendliness and efficiency of all staff from check in to check out. I was at the hotel for a family wedding and all staff were very helpful ensuring that all ran smoothly. Absolutely no complaints
I thoroughly enjoyed the pool ,steam room etc didnt have time to use the gym but looked very good. Cleanliness perfect ,I am fussy about hotels but ticked the right boxes Drinks were rather expensive even by hotel standards but captive audience
Excellent facilities and accomodation, good location. Compared to all other aspects of the hotel, the breakfast was poor. Food was obviously left out for a long time and had deteriorated.
The hotel itself was excellent, we could stay there again. I enjoyed using the facilities of the leisure centre. Dining was elegant. There was a family with young children above us, i could hear them running about.
The breakfast facilities and choice was excellent
Staff were helpful and friendly especially those on reception We thought the restaurent and bar was overpriced did not expect to pay London prices in North Wales, and so went out to eat and drink.
Large and comfortable bed Able to check in after 11pm without problems *very* poor service by Saturday staff at breakfast time Feint background noise after midnight of disco in hotel
Health centre was not the greatest
The whole weekend was enjoyable, very nice hotel, reception staff very helpful. Needed extra towels on the Saturday night and didn't get them.
not much mould growing in the bathroom, tired appearance dimly lit frontage looked like the place was closed.
Quite a nice bedroom The hotel's going through a much needed £3.2M refurbishment - I'd advise not staying here till that's complete.
we were very kindly ungraded due to hotel refurb the bathroom which i guess is due for a refurb had a bath with lots of chips in
Food excellent Bathroom - Shower and tiles need to be upgraded. Lamp in room not working
Excellent Swimming pool etc Closeness to a major dual carrigeway , one of our rooms was in a part very close and overlooking it. On this occassion it did not spoil the visit but in warmer conditions when a window would be needed to be opened ( or ayone who preferes an open window) it would be a problem . So unless I could guarantee a room away from the road I would not (for this reason only ) recommend ...as I have done below in the questionarre. The fan provided in this room would be little help. Otherwise I was very happy .
Very friendly staff, very clean rooms, not too far to walk into town so we didn't have to pay car park charges. We thought it badly needed decorating. Paintwork was shabby. Would improve hotel greatly if painted.
Confortable bed! Room adequate for our two day stay to visit the city and nearby Rhyl. Christmas market was an attraction. Nothing to dislike. Breakfast a bit cold on first day but fine next day.
Pleasant welcome, good food. Bedrooms were subject to considerable floor noise from guests moving around above. More than I have ever experienced. No toiletries in bathroom.
good location 10min walk to center of chester, pleasant helpful staff ,well done
pleasant surroundings.nice staff breakfast was on small size, any no variation from day to day.
The location is brilliant just 10mins walk from the centre ..the staff are fantastic nothing is too much trouble
Friendly staff Just distance quoted
Ideal location for Chester CIty, car parking very convenient but limited. Room was very dated, wifi not working in room and considering my room was on the top floor, was told it was the best location for access ! TV signal was also quite poor and picture froze a number of times
the atmosphere was relaxing, a real British experience
Friendly staff, comfortable seating areas, really comfortable bed. evening menu
Easy to find, couple of miles out the centre, free car parking No draught beers, bar prices extortinate £5.00 tv did not work properly Poor breakfast
Its proximity to Chester city Having lived on the continent for many years I found that a continental breakfast didn't only consist of cereals, grapefruit, yoghout and toast, it also consists of cheeses, meats, cold boiled eggs etc.
The room was comfortable & the breakfast was very good. We were in an attic room with a sloping roof which made the bathroom slightly difficult to use.
The location was in walking distance of town and not expensive by taxi. The room was tidy and clean. Lots of bed covers due to heating going off. Good breakfast for little money and service good. It was cold the heating only came on in the morning and afternoon it was cold duing the day. It was cold in the breakfast area.
This is a lovely hotel whose rooms are both attractive and practical. The breakfast was outstanding as was the conservatory in which it is served. The local bus services are spotty and complex due to multiple companies and stops. Fortunately taxis are cheap.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They accommodated our needs. The room in which we stayed was not like the ones shown on the website which was the main reason I booked in the first place. This was quite disappointing. However the overall stay was ok.
A warm welcome greeted us upon arrival. We had two rooms one in each courtyard which were very good - one was a bit small with not much storage but ok for the few days of our stay. The second room (twin) was excellent. Both had all the facilities you would expect. Breakfast (continental) was adequate, however you could pay extra for cooked. Hotel in pleasant surroundings but more than the 15 minute walk into Chester that we were advised. During our stay the bar wasn't particularly well stocked with cask beers and lagers not available (run out).
Delightful staff, nice lounge & bar areas, exceptionally clean, excellent breakfast. Single room was definitely on the small side, but bathroom was spacious.
The staff were friendly and the room was lovely We were in an outside room and it was cold during the night when the heating had gone off but it was the first really cold night of the year so far and that won't have helped !
The hotel was good value for the money, about 20 min. walk from the town centre, bus into town was also available. Ample parking. Spacious accommodation
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived some two hours before book in, they let us leave the car at the hotel and even gave us a map of Chester with directions of the best way to get in to the city centre. Our room was very clean and cosy. Would use this hotel again. Room was a little on the small side, but as their was only two of us and we did not spend time in the room other than to sleep it wasn't really a problem for us. The friendly atmosphere and spotlessly clean hotel more than made up for the room size.
The hotel was located around 5 minutes drive from Chester City centre which was very handy for going in to town, it was also only around 15 minutes drive from Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet. Our bed was very uncomfortable, it was one of the doubles that you end up meeting in the middle of with your partner due to the dip in it. Also i think a few springs had gone as it squeeked at the slightest movement waking my girlfriend up regulary! The kids in the next room were using the corridor as a sprint track during the early evening which was a bit annoying too.
Great location. Only 5 mins to Chester town centre and Chester Zoo. Rather disappointed overall. We paid a lot of money to stay at the hotel, and feel let down. The food was ridiculously overpriced, and I could have made a better meal myself! The room we stayed in was a good size, however smelt stale as it had a leak, the bed was very squeaky and uncomfortable. The facilities in the room were very old and dated. Upon arrival I requested to use the laundry service (in which it advertised and you would expect from a 4 star hotel) however was told that it "wasn't available". Definitely wouldn't book this hotel again, nor recommend it. Luckily I had great company that weekend!
Other than the cleanliness of the room nothing. Having to compromise on rooms at arrival. Beds being most uncomfortable. Breakfast was poor, service was slow and food not readily available . Coffee was cold and it took 20 mins to get a piece of toast.
Food and facilities where excellent The heating in the rooms was unadjustable and excessively hot, beyond being comfortable. Although we were upgraded and moved rooms (which we did appreciate) it was still uncomfortable making it difficult to sleep. The room s were on the front and the traffic noise meant you couldn't open the windows at night. Some of the facilities are looking tired eg Bathroom in the first room, changing rooms in the lesuire complex
attentive staff no internet in room and tv small
My wife and my sister in law have said that they really enjoyed the way in which everyone went out of their way to look after them during their stay. They liked everything about the hotel and will return next year.
Staff very helpfull.
easy car parking, good lounge / dining facilities the food was only average, long walk and stairs to bedroom
Restaurant & leisure facilities
Pool good. Grounds at back of hotel ok. Food reasonable quality Hotel frontage not good. Rooms need updating, some good touches but then others dated. Short staffed led to delays in getting drinks at bar and food. However to its credit the hotel did refund the cost of drinks and food for the evening
