For a cheap hotel, this one was acceptable. The room was clean and in fairly good shape. The A/C worked, though it was noisy. Other than it's location, my only complaint was that the fridge was so noisy I wound up unplugging it; since I wasn't using it anyway. All in all, though the building was showing it's age, it's apparent that the managers are trying to keep it clean.

Although this hotel is at least 30-40 years old, it is apparent that the owners and staff take great pride in it. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly, attentive and courteous. We did not take advantage of the pool but other guests seemed to really enjoy it. I really felt safe with the gated, covered parking. Also, the hotel keeps a security guard on staff 24-7. I felt that we got our money's worth from Super 8!

This hotel is in a bad area. The front desk person was very nice. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything in the rooms next door and above. The gate closes at 10pm and our key card would not open the gate. Other people arrived and were trying to get in and their cards would not work either. No one answered the emergency phone number. There is nothing within walking distance and it is not safe to walk. Hard to get a taxi to take you to this hotel. All of our taxi drivers thought we must be confused.

Called 4 cabs around 9pm and none would come because the neighborhood is so bad. Waited for an hour and in the end no cab. Also, the house next door is really sketch. A lot of shady people walk out as fast as they walk in at night. Selling drugs or something? None of the people looked related.

At first, the room was disappointing -- no bathtub, for one, since it was designed for handicapped persons -- but worse, both the coffeepot and the microwave were filthy! The carpet was also sticky, and the remote didn't work.

Absolutely NOTHING! EVERYTHING Stayed there with a group. Rooms were dirty and very out dated. One in our group asked to move to another room after finding a bloody handprint on the bed spread. Their second room had drugs all over the floor. There were hookers on the street corner and in and out of the hotel all night. We slept with our gun out on the night table. Location was in the worst part of town with very dangerous looking individuals everywhere. Only reason we decided to stay was because of our group we were with and no other rooms in town with Mardi gras. We stayed just one night before leaving early next morning for a cruise. The price was low, but now I know why. It is not in a safe area. The hotel met all necessities. It was clean enough to stay. The staff was nice. Not a safe area. A lot of walking night traffic. Come prepared with your own toiletries. They only provide one very small bar of soap. Taxi will pick you up only after you tell them you aren't a local. The hotel and staff itself isn't horrible, but the area is definitely not safe. Although, nobody bothered us, I definitely do not recommend this hotel for a family vacation. I wouldn't have stayed if my children were with me. Not far from the French Quarter. Taxi ride was about $20 and they will pick you up as long as you tell them you are not a local. Come prepared!
