Clean, friendly staff and excellent location. The rooms were large and quiet and the beds were comfortable. Wifi seemed to work well. Bonus free coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby.
Very nice and large room. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The lobby is small and not overly impressive. The neighborhood is safe but not one of the premier locations in NYC so you'll need to cab or subway to restaurants/meetings/site seeing. Fortunately it is very centrally located. Given what I Paid for the room, I would definitely stay there again
Lobby and Immediate Neighboorhood
The spacious room, boutique/ old style hall ways and lobby, location next to empire state building and in Korea town
At 2am the vent started blowing out heat even though thermostat was set on cool. Woke up to 80 degrees in the room, had to call front desk to come check it out. They said cuz the vent system is so old, there is no varying the temp. So he just turned it off and opened the window. However it was also about 30 degrees outside so as much as that felt good in the beginning, woke up again a couple hrs later to a freezing cold room. Then I had to be up early for an appt so felt as if I got no sleep :(
Staff was friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was smaller than expected with a bathroom for handicapped persons. The bathroom door would not close properly. The bed was small but comfortable. The room phone was not audible. Wi-fi was very responsive.
We entered the Avalon to friendly staff and were quickly checked into our room. We entered the room to squeaky floors. There was no way to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night without waking others. The beds were quite comfortable and the amenities including those in the bath were very nice.
The squeaky floors were the most disappointing aspect of this hotel.
Nice size room, comfortable beds and large bathroom for the three adults. Sofa bed marginal mattress, tv did not work well had to be rebooted twice, elevators very slow, nice coffee machine in lobby, didn't try buffet breakfast ($15), nice location for subway and restaurants in area
Front desk not answering phone from room,tv not working, slow elevators, over charge by hotels.com....price went from stated Dalit price to almost +$200
The staff was very helpful
The condition of this property is way past time to update. I asked for coffee maker in my room. The carafe still had old coffee in it.
Good location. Bed was nice. Free wi-fi. Good price.
Front desk clerk was curt. HVAC was wonky. Bath door wouldn't close. Hardwood floor was loose.
