I upgraded to a delux room, but it didn't seem any better than standard room. The parking was a headache. No tv service in the gym.

Caroline was excellent. Her diligent approach to the guest needs was great. Friendly and helpful. The bell man and rest of lobby staff was ok, not the best attitude at any time of day, they always seemed upset.
very spacious room!
The room was very clean, modern and large. It was a junior suite size for a good price. I can see why it was discounted as the room was next to the elevator and I heard it all night. Since it is an old hotel the elevators are very loud and it was right behind the headboard.

Cons (-) No robe in room, small TV. No room service menu apparent. Front desk never answers phone - NEVER. VERY, VERY EXPENSIVE FOR AN AVERAGE ROOM WITH NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT IT.
Pros (+) The hotel was conveniently located next to the subway for ease of travel. It was walking distance to Times Square. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were recently remodeled.
Cons (-) They need sound proofing between walls. We could hear conversations in the next room and they weren't even yelling.

Cons (-) My mother's shoes were stolen, Along with my nephew's (2 and 1/2 yo) pillow and toys. The shoes were inside a suitcase the entire time which makes the case even worse. We complained at the front desk, but the staff were unapologetic and did nothing to solve the issue.
