Pros: The staff and service at this hotel were above and beyond expectations. The location is perfect being that it is steps away from everything that Viejo Vallarta offers and even closer to the malecon and the beach. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Cons: Like one of the reviewers noted, I too was placed in a room that faced the air conditioning units in the courtyard. The best outcome for this situation is that I know I would have been moved to a better room if I had asked. But I was only there one night so didn't bother.

Pros: Booked at a great price of $50. Not sure I would stay at their published price of 1200 peosos. A bit expensive. Very clean, very comfortable, very quiet, very friendly staff, great location, but no character.

Pros: The price is obviously a plus. The staff were really nice and the concierge spoke really good English. The air conditioning worked really well. The pool is beautiful however right in the middle of everything so everyone is watching you from the restaurant and the hotel rooms. I also liked the location, it felt right inside of the culture of Puerto Vallarta, it didn't give off that resort vibe at all, if that's what you're looking for.
Cons: The shower we had would always flood the entire bathroom, with only a thin curtain and no ledge to catch the excess water. Also, everything just felt dirty. We found a weird yellowish stain on our sheets and they always felt a little sticky. Oh and by far the worst part was all of the fleas. There were hundreds of fleas in the bed, on the floor. Everywhere. And even though the air conditioning worked, it was so loud it's hard to hear your spouse talk.

Pros: The rooms were clean and has your basic needs. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We needed to use the phone to confirm a tour and the guy at the front desk called for me. They also stored our bags for us while we went out since check out was at noon and we didn't have to leave until later. The beach was not even a minute walk away. The market was across the street and there were placed to eat all around us. The location was great.
Cons: I wish the wi-fi worked throughout the hotel and not just in our room.

Pros: Staff and location were amazing. It's one street away from the Malecon, but it's not as busy. The restaurant was great as well. You get amazing food for a decent price and it's not as busy as all of the restaurants on the boardwalk. You can enjoy your meal in peace.

Cons: Did not get free cancellation! Still had to pay. I will be fighting with my credit card. Even outside of three days. They still refused to cancel for free.

Pros: Room 116 which is way in back in north east section. My 3rd and probably last stay there. Reservation said room with balcony and river view. When i got there they said no river view rooms available and they said the same thing the next few days. Bed was hard and not level, kind of a humpback. Toilet would only flush once every 15 minutes as is takes that long for the tank to refill. Window blinds were thin so not very dark in the room at night. They updated the TV to a nice flat screen with many channels though only about 6 in english. The TV remote did not work consistently. Maid service was good. Location pretty good for the price, a block or so from ocean, few blocks from usable beach. If you are over 49 you probably would not put up with all of the little problems with this place. If you get a river view room you can overlook most of them, otherwise i would pass. Air conditioning worked OK though loud which helped drown out the street noise. The shower had very hot water to my surprise though the toilet is located basically in the shower which is odd. Ceilings are nice and high. Free wifi, in the lobby only, which is nice. The lights in the room are not very bright making it hard to shave or put on makeup. Saw a gecko in my room once.

Cons: Room was in poor condition. Stains on bedding, mattress hard and uncomfortable, and had to stand on a chair to reach the A/C unit. Booked another hotel and checked out within an hour. Encino refused to give a refund.

Pros: Roof top pool often empty ( while I was there ) Roof top restaurant awesome food and cheap Maid were friendly Gilberto - one of the front desk employee Who is very friendly and alway smiling and goes beyond to help you if you need anything.
Cons: Roof top restaurant only open at 4pm and closed Mondays. It was cheap and good food. Wish they were open earlier Did not sell or provide ice Bedsheets and towels often stained-
