Sixt went the extra milePros:Sixt were extremely helpful when we realised we had reserved a car at the wrong airport. They went the extra mile to make sure we had a car with which we were very comfortable. Return was friendly and efficient. Will definitely rent fro Sixt again.Cons:Drop-off was a bit crowded, but I attribute this to growth of Sixt due to their popularity - certainly another confirmation of their excellent standing with customers.Reviewed 1 Oct 2016

Wouldn't use sixt again.Pros:There was a sixt company in Reykjavik that swapped the car for us.Cons:20 day wait to get your deposit back. The car we originally picked up had no water in it, the bonnet was not shut and a warning light appeared during our first journey. Dont think the dacia duster is that great on some of the f roads.Reviewed 18 Mar 2017

Pros:Easy pickup and dropoff - friendly and helpful staff.Cons:Quite expensive especially having rented a better car from the same company in Germany and the UK (however, I believe this is because it was in Iceland, where things are more expensive in general). If the car was a newer model with GPS, that would have been even better as well!Reviewed 14 Jul 2017

WORST CAR RENTAL EVERCons:Went to SIXT on June 30. I had ordered a large SUV for 7 passengers and 3 bags (confirmation said it was to be a Mercedes or similar. Hah). Every few minutes we were told they just started cleaning our car and it would be another 5 minutes. After 1 hour and 45 minutes of waiting, we told them we would take the car as is. They bought us out to a clean car but it only had 5 seats and there were 6 of us. Also, the gas tank was empty. Then they said there would be another 10-minute wait for a bigger car or a 10- minute wait for them to fill up the gas tank. We were exhausted from our overnight flight plus had reservations for our first excursion, so time was running out. They brought us over to a smaller SUV which did have a 3rd row (which was not a row for 2 adults) Only 2 suitcases fit into this car (not 3). We took it anyway because we may still be there now if we hadn’t. The car was filthy – inside and out. Plus to accommodate our luggage, we were not able to use the 3rd row. This, too, was not the car I had ordered online. I had the papers with me, showing what I had reserved and PRE-PAID. We drove with 6 adults, having one adult sitting on another adult’s lap. CAN YOU IMAGINE THIS? We drove to the Blue Lagoon like this then on to the Hotel in Rekjavik. We never used the car again until returning it to the airport, which was another long wait. No one told us to return the car with a full tank of gas – our paperwork did not state this either. We had to leave Sixt to fill up the car with gas. When we came back, they told us we had gone over our mileage limit. WHAT? We never drove the car. Apparently, because we changed cars upon our arrival, they had the mileage from the other car written on our contract – not the mileage from the car we actually used. We called over a manager who saw how upset and unsatisfied we were. He waived the additional mileage charges. In the end, we got charged $965.64 for a filthy car that was not what we reserved and which we only drove as airport transfers beginning on June 30 at 9:30 am until Monday, July 3 at 1:00 pm. Remember – we had 4 adults in the back seat. What a nightmare. DO NOT USE SIXT.Reviewed 5 Jul 2017

Unclear milleage limit ended up with me getting gougedPros:The car was fine, although nothing out of the ordinary.Cons:I went to Iceland, which is obviously an island where many of the sights are a long distance from one another. I rented the car with a 500 kilometer limit--although this was totally unclear to me. I rent cars all the time, and rarely if ever have I encountered a mileage limit. I didn't think anything of it. I then turned the car in and was informed that I had gone more than 600 kilometers over the limit! This ended up costing me almost 400 euros on top of the other fees. Although I obviously should have read the fine print closer, the whole thing felt like a ripoff, particularly as just driving the Golden Circle in Iceland is 300 kilometers... Also, I've never been so closely scrutinized when dropping off a car before. The representative took at least 10 minutes to look over every single inch of the car for scratches (there were none), while I was trying catch my plane. In short, based on my experience with Sixt, I think they are misleading and petty. I won't rent from them again.Reviewed 28 Aug 2017

Cons:Charged my credit card $1500 for 20 days until I get the "all clear", i.e. no tickets or damage to car. They looked over the car with a magnifying glass upon return, so why not return my money before 20 days??!! A scam. We paid $10 a day for GPS that they said would pick up anywhere. It didn't. It only worked about 25% of the time. Very frustrating. A long line waiting to get the car at airport. Tried to sell us all types of things...extra insurance, extra miles/day.... I'd rather pay more money and have "exactly". i.e. Hertz, than this not exactly experience.Reviewed 15 Jul 2017

Service was very slow and not real helpfulPros:The vehicle was niceCons:The worst part was that we waited 2 hours to be helped from the moment we walked in. The customer service was horrible. The staff was very rude. I was given a car and told to go out and figure out all of the dings listed. When I went back in they were rude to us and said we had to wait again for help. I asked for a manager and he was even ruder to us. There were so many customers upset as we were staying there waiting. I rented from the same company in Dublin, Ireland and they were amazing to us there. Thank goodness.Reviewed 24 Jul 2017
