Curtesy van was great. Picked me up at linden airport and shuttled me to the linden train station several times in 2 day. Always on time. Rooms were clean and complementary breakfast was good. I will stay here again.
Excellent staff, comfortable beds, and a clean facility LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION ! I should have checked this one out on the maps before booking, it is next to what has to be one of the busiest intersections in NJ, heavy traffic kept me up Little to no sleep at all. The airport is the least of your worries when there is a drag strip of an intersection out front.
Staff was top notch, very helpful and courteous, very comfortable quiet air conditioned rooms. Ice machine on top floor was broke down. No one had a note saying it was out of service. op blanket was lumpy from stuffing separating from cloth, kind of annoying.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Location is close to airport, food and shopping. The front desk lied and said late check out was not available because all the rooms were booked for the next day. There were rooms available to book via Kayak as well as the Hampton Inn website. My flight was not until 3:45. I had to sit at the airport for hours.
Friendly staff and super clean environment.
Every time I visit Staten Island I stay here and it's usually the best place to stay until now. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and great water pressure in the shower. Rooms stay warm and cozy. Breakfast wasn't too good. People living in the hotel was uncomfortable. Wouldn't stay here again until it's ran like a hotel and not a homeless shelter. Random ppl who live here asking for drugs.
The hotel was very new. It was clean and the staff was very friendly, I have never seen such small rooms in a hotel before. The king size bed was wider than it was long. On either side of the bed was about 2 feet of space. It wasn't much wider in front of the bed. It was till worth it though, instead of having more space and paying $159 or $189.
Amazing staff, very very friendly The definition of "standard room" was not defined. 3 adults in one king bed was a tad disturbing. That was not the fault of the hotel, but the website through which I booked the room.
clean new hotel, easy access. parking was a little difficult
I liked the cleanliness of my room and the complimentary breakfast was great. I did not like that they did not have complimentary airport service. when I booked the room I was under the impression they did. I then asked them to arrange a service and I gave the suggestion what I was willing to pay and it turned out to be double.
reasonable price, closeness and easy transport to Manhattan, free parking, and much more. I would like to have a flexible shower head in the bathroom.
The hotel was very clean and in great shape.
The staff did respond immediately to my phone calls and had security search the holes for this person but the club surrounding it inside the hotel does make it intolerable to have a good night sleep I don't recommend this hotel for single adult women that are trying to get a good nights rest because of the clubs downstairs and the drunks morning the hallways just not enough security to stop all that
They called and said they had rebooked me at the Hampton Inn across the street, which was one of the hotels I specifically avoided when booking in the first place. The second Hotel behaved as if the first hotel never let them know I was coming. I call shenanigans. won't be back unless the Verrazano collapses.
The location was perfect for what we wanted to do on Staten Island. The staff was extremely friendly. There was a lot of noise from the hall way and surrounding rooms.
The shuttle from the airport was convenient. The staff friendly. The rooms clean and nice. I got in very late and tried to sleep a bit later the next morning, but noise started at 720am and continued. I could hear everything from the room above and on either side. Surprisingly noisy. The next night I slept fine but left by 430am.
Crowded breKfast. Ran out of food
Always have enjoyed Hampton Inn's and this one was excellent, except Kayak didn't let me know ahead of time it was a smoking room. Kayak signed me up for a smoking room and I didn't know anything about it. Next time Kayak, show me that its going to be a smoking room and I will look elsewhere.
Extremely helpful staff, from the shuttle drivers to the front desk to housekeeping. Very clean and comfortable.
Very friendly staff and shuttle staff
Bathrooms and included breakfast were great! Mattresses were squeaky and carpet needed cleaning
This was a overnight stop over to catch an early morning flight out of EWR. Got picked up by their courtesy van at EWR and the staff was helpful and polite. Courtesy van took us to EWR was timely. nothing
Everyone was incredibly nice! Best Hampton Inn staff I've ever seen. Depesha is AWESOME!!!!
Staff were terrific, breakfast great, airport shuttle extremely helpful. We checked in very late. When we finally got into our room (the keys worked only every 8th time or so) we were bowled over by an intense chemical smell. We tried to find an air freshener but couldn't. Called the front desk, housekeeping came. Turns out they spray some kind of God awful disinfectant before guests arrive. This is dangerous. I asked for a different room, but there was none. We were given a fan, which helped a little, but there's no fresh air coming in from anywhere. I had a headache the entire time we were there. I've always loved Hampton Inn but this is unacceptable.
Convenient to airport; shuttle service; friendly, helpful staff. Has a kind of run down, grimy look. Hall carpets were wrinkled and dirty looking, elevator was dirty, room looked like only essential areas like the bathroom were really cleaned. Limited food options - I ordered Chinese delivered and it was the worst Chinese food I'd ever had. The only other choice would have been pizza/pasta, neither of which I eat.
Property dated....needs a facelift
It was a last minute stay because something fell through on our travel plans. When it's time to check in, they let the guests know that it's a no party policy and make you sign a waiver, which is fine. I dislike the fact that my friends and I had friends staying in the same hotel and when they saw us getting on the elevator, they assumed that we were having a party and proceeded to ask me my room number and tell me that a group of people were going up to my room, which was false. I also dislike that the shuttle is on call because when we called for a shuttle, one never showed up and we were stuck having to find another way back to the hotel. One of the guests staying in the room with me needed a shuttle for 6:45 for a 7:45 flight and was told that the shuttle doesn't start running until 7:00. It's 15 minutes and we are paying customers. They don't care about their guests. Front desk just seems lazy and inattentive when it comes to needs of the guests. I won't be staying here again and I won't recommend it to any friends.
no shuttle bus
I DIDN'T LIKE THE FACT THAT THEY GAVE ME A SMOKING ROOM WITHOUT ASKING ME IF THAT'S WHAT I WANTED. ALSO, THERE WERE YOUNG PEOPLE STANDING AROUND IN THE LOBBY LOOKING LIKE THEY LIVED THERE. WITH THAT, I HAD TO CALL BACK AND GET ANOTHER HOTEL WHICH TOOK OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER WHIH WAS MIDNIGHT.
I needed a place to stay that had good enough accommodation for a two night stay. I was just in town for business. The room was pretty nice with updated features overall and was clean. Location was good and close to a mall where i had lunch. The breakfast was enough for me, especially being brand new to traveling. But I believe it would leave others disappointed if they are looking for a more dedicated/sit-down breakfast. It was muffins, granola bars, and fruit with some coffee. "Continental" breakfast. So its definitely more for the quick moving business man. But if you want more food the location is very close to a lot of restaurants and a mall so there isn't much to worry about.
Good proximity to Newark airport, and a couple of restaurants within a few minutes walk. Comfortable rooms and beds. The only room available was a smoking room, which wasn't all that bad, as far as smells, etc.
The price for the weekend was great but on Monday it double Not the best at all!!!
The lounge was good to relax. Great greek salad. Best was the shuttle to the airport which allowed cheap public transportation to/from NYC There is nothing within walking distance (food/drinks/snacks)
Okay for the money Bar/restaurant was over priced and the WiFi was down. The doors do not close very well...
Nothing The hotel is nothing like the picture, it was very dirty and old. This is the worst experience I ever had. DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL, its full of roaches !!
it is very nice hotel, the shuttle bus is on time, the room is very comfortabel, pepole are nice at this hotel. I will stay there in next time..
We loved the atmosphere in the bar, and having it open till late. Very handy after landing relatively late! Very friendly staff on the bar, on reception and the shuttle driver. Extremely comfortable and a convenience store next to reception which came in use! Amazing value for money, same standard as any high 4* hotel if not better! Loved the stay, thanks! :) We couldnt find the shuttle to the hotel when we landed very easily, so ended up paying for a taxi, however when leaving the hotel, we were pleased with the efficiency of the services.
Facilities were very nice -- clean and comfortable room. Staff at check-in desk also friendly and helpful. Shuttle service driver was very nice on arriving, however, shuttle driver in morning was late and a bit rude.
When we arrived, it appeared that our reservation was unknown! Who is to blame, the Hotel or Booking.Com?
Hotel did not have record of reservation through active hotels website. Could not contact active hotel to find out why
we thought the telephone call to the room upon our arrival asking if everything was ok with the room was excellent. only speciality teas supplied in the room. Gratuity in restaurant was forced upon us, not given the chance of discretion.
Location next to Newark Airport with free shuttle. Good value. Hotel is shabby, carpet fraying, lots of dings and marks on the walls in hallways (though room itself was in better shape). Housekeeping must've been rushed, because underwear left by a previous guest was on the floor of our bathroom. Yuck.
Location to airport The staff member checking us in excellent the 2 ladies in the morning extremely rude not interested in helping at all the old grey hair lady and a dark lady they could not have been more unhelpful
We had booked 3 rooms about a week in advance. However road trip was horrible & got to hotel very late. Get there my reservations canceled and idk why. On top of this hotel was booked for the weekend. What am I to do with a 2 year old with no room? Staff lady wasn't customer oriented either The overnight front desk lady wasn't friendly. However the day time shift front desk lady was.
No in hotel eating or a bar to relax in after a long flight
Location. Close to EWR. Shopping Center The difference in price since tax was not included in the quote.
Perfect location if you fly in/out Newark Airport. Hotel shuttle bus every 30 min. from station P4 of Newark Ait Train (easy to find). In addition there is a Garden Jersey Outlet across the street where you can shop for 2 days.... Breakfast is fine (except american eggs from a box...). Complimentary coffee at Loby and in the roon, fitness and swimming pool (small) + whirpool - nice one! I recommend to enjoy all facilities that this hotel offers.
The front desk staff is very patient and helpful. Location is good and next door to the shopping mall. Good choice near Newark.
spacious comfortable room offhand staff at front desk
room basic but comfortable, convinience for all services. good value some staff did not seem to bother if you ask just a little extra, I arrived at the hotel at midday and without even to check they told me I cannot get my room till 1500. This does not happen in many other hotels
Very close to Airport with free shuttle bus. Across the road from Jersey Outlet Mall which is great for shopping. Staff friendly and helpful A little bit tired and breakfast does not start until 6am which is too late if you are catching an early flight. There was no alternative offered
cleanliness of the room, comfort, facilities
location, breakfast, internet, and most of all the staff was so talkative and nice the towels are on the small side, not so good for the pool, cant wrap around the body
Close enough to airport. Excellent shopping on the doorstep. Rooms very comfortable and spacious for the money.
Its a typical airport hotel. Nothing special. Just close to the airport. Reasonable priced. Breakfast
Very comfortable bed and quiet room. Nice looking building. Airport shuttle was quick, convenient and the driver for the hotel I stayed at was very nice (can't be said for the other Courtyard hotel driver for one of the other locations...). Too many people partying in common areas/halls. Rude driver of airport shuttle for one of the Courtyard Marriott properties (not the driver for this location - but another locations driver who was at the airport at the same time); if you don't know which of the three Courtyard hotels you're going to hope you don't get the driver I did at first because he just yells at you. Bathroom and ceilings in room could use updating.
Quietness and the courtesy shattle to and from the airport Yes, I don't take coffee but that is the only drink provided by the hotel and the brakefast there is too expensive.
Clean and silent rooms and wireless free internet are very useful for travel in business Carefull with hidden costs for things that in other regular hotels are included. Breakfast: low quality and room not very clean
We found our room to be very comfortable and clean. The price was definitely reasonable. The hotel's facilities are excellent. Front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed the comfort of our room and appreciated the 24/7 gym & swimming pool. Also, having a courtesy shuttel is much appreciated. We wished we could have ordered food after 23h00 and that some movies (even old releases) were available without paying extra fees.
The ease of access from EWR airport. the people are not friendly. they do not welcome you as a customer.
Hotel is alright. Gym is good and has equipment for about 7 people at the same time. The wee shop where you can buy food is open 24/7 and has good food in it.Free Internet is fast.Shuttle Bus drivers are friendly. Is worth its money if you book online and don't pay more than 100 bux. People at the reception are not really friendly - as mentioned before by other travelers. Though they are helpful.
Reliable airport shuttle. Good restaurant. Couldn't work the coffee-maker.
For of all this app said that the Hilton had a spa and that was a lie !!! Also the indoor pool was dirty! The customer service was shitty. & to top it off we had to pay for parking which was $20.
I needed a hotel close to Newark airport, this hotel is clean and Comfort. the transportation from the hotel to the airport is easy by car or you can take a taxi. the hotel is not good for holiday or fun, it is just for stay the night close to airport.
Friendly staff Bath room old fashioned, Car Parking very expensive
Great location for use of Newark airport. Great staff! Nothing
Room was clean and spacious. Comfortable. Original parking lot wasn't working and had to park in the guest parking, which was completely packed. Only good thing was that instead of paying $20 for parking, I only paid $15 plus fees. Ridiculous that we have to pay for parking, even with a room. Pantry area was almost empty with no variety,
good overnight with early morning flight departure. Enjoyed lobby bar with good accompanying menu -- not a bad place to hang out and unwind. Staff was friendly and accomodating, keeping their cool during a substantive number o all-at-once check-ins. Shuttle from airport terminal departs from the extreme end of the airport, which depending on your arrival
The staff is extremely helpfull and friendly, special in the restraurant. Parking was free!
Not too many shops
Clean Not enough mirrors you couldn't chill wroth your friends because the walls are paper thin
Access to everything Fixures in the room needed maintenance
The hotel staff & dining can't think of anything
I liked the fact the hotel was close to a Mall and provided a shuttle and had a swimming pool with breakfast included. The shuttle was terrible - supposed to run every 15 minutes but what they don't tell you is that one of the shuttles is reserved for airline employees of United and American and essentially, there is a shuttle every 30 minutes that is not supposed to stop at the terminals but it does it anyway. One of the drivers was supposed to pick me up from the nearby Mall and decided not to because he was running late, so I ended up running late for my flight and had to change it. Be very careful with these shuttles - they are quite unreliable.
Nice comfortable stay Free breakfast was terrible
Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location to where i was working, inconvenient to restaurants. Bed was a horrible sleep number. It wasn't even plugged in or a remote available when I arrived. They had to send someone up with multiple remotes to test and get something to work. After the first night the remote stopped working. Would not book there again.
Cleaness Breakfast time
Clean and comfortable rooms. Right off the NJ turnpike. If I don't need wifi, I would stay here again. No wifi in room but there is a business center. Breakfast was bad - stale food with poor taste. A TV guide would be helpful.
Close to Newark airport. Far from NYC.
First of all, I am a veteran traveler. I used to travel for a living, spending more than 200 nights a year in hotels. What upsets me about any poor service experience is that it is relatively easy to avoid with good training and good management.\n\nI checked into the Doubletree Newark Airport after 11pm on the 13th of December. If I didn't already know they had a shuttle from the airport, there would have been no way to know they had one running. In the terminal and also at the P4 shuttle pick-up area, the hotel is not displayed on the courtesy phone area. I ended up having to call the hotel to see if indeed there was a shuttle bus available. \n\nWhen I arrived at the property, there were 4 people behind the front desk but no one at the front door or any bell service available. I had numerous bags as I was returning from an overseas trip and had to secure the bell cart myself. I passed several staff members with this cart and no one offered to assist me. \n\nThe guestroom was fine, alt...
If you have a choice I wouldnt stay here. The surrounding area is horrible. Also, very very hard to find and easy to get lost in an area I dont feel safe in. The hotel is just average, the staff is just ok. Absolutely no restaurants in the vicinity so you are forced to eat at the hotel for mediocre food. Meeting rooms had leaking ceiling, where water came through like rain! Parking for hotel guests is expensive! Unfortunately I had to stay here for a meeting, if I had a choice I would not stay here!
Clean and affordable. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel in general which would include the room, lobby area, and the indoor pool. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and very accomodating when it came asking for directions, coordinating adjoining rooms, and providing additional services such as a roll away bed and blankets. Each time we came back to the hotel from our day or evening trips the front desk manager or clerks would ask how our day went. We enjoyed the flat screen, LCD T.V. and the variety of channels available for free viewing. The only downside to the hotel is that it's located right off the highway across from the airport which meant we were pretty much land locked which limited our dining choices without having to drive. The Perkins shuttle never showed so we ended up eating lunch the first day in the hotel restaurant. Being right off the highway also made it very challanging and confusing to get into the frontage road area where th ehotel is locat...
The room was pretty clean and adjacent to Newark Liberty International Airport. The view was just overlooking the parking lot. Nothing else. The lobby was very beautiful.
This was my third stay at this hotel and even better than the last two. The rooms, lobby, and restaurant have been very tastefully redone. The room was very comfortable with HD TV. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Even though near the airport, my rooms have always been quiet.
Some hotels have gorgeous communal areas, such as the lobby, and the lounge, but a different standard for their rooms. Renaissance Newark Airport had beautiful areas that were communal, and their rooms were of the same high standard. Bed was comfortable, and warm. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Shuttle to and from the airport is a plus. Many airline staff stay at the hotel, so the morning shuttle filled up fast, but another shuttle was dispatched right away, to pick up the overflow of passengers. I would stay here each time I'm in the area. Not just a good value, but a great place to stay, meet, eat, hold a conference, etc.
I am very picky, about clean, germs when it comes to hotels. the staff was friendly, from the valet to restaurant staff. the room was clean. i would go back and stay there again.
The front desk personell was very friendly the room was nice overall hotel standards were very good.
Beware, renovation under way. Paint on carpets, in sinks.... smell is in the air. Not sure why I didn't know about the daily parking fee ($14).
This hotel has been recently been renovated. The public areas on the first floor are very nice, and the quest rooms are very nice as well. My only negative comment (and it's very minor) is that the hallways in the guest room areas still need to be redone. The front desk and restaurant staff's are very friendly and accommodating.
I arrived at 2 pm only to be told to wait an hour. Upon returning at 3 I was told the room wasnt ready and I could have a double bed. I refused and was told by the manager YOU CANT EXPECT US TO RUSH OUR STAFF. My toilet was broken. I was charged 3 TIMES for the same thing. Then I was told the only thing that can be done is a FREE DINNER....unacceptable treatment and horrible attitudes
We needed a hotel not far from the airport as we had a 6:30 am flight the day after our stay. The staff at the Renaissance were incredibly helpful with any and all questions we had re: transportation, food, etc. Although we had a short night's sleep due to our obligations, it was completely restful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The room was spacious! Great for a 2-girl mega shopping weekend. Lots of room for suitcases, shopping bags, and spacious closet. Free wi-fi. Shuttle bus service to train station and to nearby shopping mall. Breakfast was generous. The bar was good for drinks after a long day of shopping. The managers are truly in-charge which is good when you need to resolve matters and get things done. Shower curtain hangs on a curved rod which makes the curtain slide open, everything gets wet!
I liked the customer service! Carlos was our waiter one evening and he was so sweet and friendly. The shuttle drivers were also wonderful. Friendly, professional and very nice!! The breakfast was very good also. The only thing I didn't like was that my bed was not made one day by housekeeping and the did not replenish the coffee nor did they remove the melted ice from the ice bucket. I was very disappointed in that part of the service since, as a mom, I do look forward to going to a hotel to be a little spoiled. I didn't complain to the front desk since the rest of the hotel experience was wonderful!!! All in all I would go there again.
Airport Shuttle is very handy. Breakfast is great
This was my third time in the hotel and it simply ticks all the boxes for me. Close to Newark and a free shuttle bus from the airport and also to Newark Penn Station. Comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. The bar menu is quite limited but not a problem for me, they serve beer after all!
Clean, comfortable rooms, decent food and drinks, timely shuttle to the airport, great price. Better than a park and fly hands down! What more could you ask for!
the telephone out of order none come
The rooms were excatly what was shown on the web site unlike some other hotels, it was comfortable, and breakfast was included in the very low rate. It has been my second time staying there n it will always be my first choice of stay when ever I visit. N/A
Convenience I reserved king but I got two twin/double, I did not bother to change when I realized in my room
The bed!! So comfortable. Also I left my luggage on the shuttle, and they were very helpful in facilitating my getting it back. The plane was late, and the shuttle took much too long to pick up.
Free shuttle service between EWR and hotel, both ways. Staff was friendly and helpful. I had a room on the 6th floor, it had a vaulted ceiling which was lovely. Clean luxurious sheets, beds were comfortable with pillow options. Plenty of space. Large mini fridge in the room. Convenient, Way better than sleeping on the floor of EWR. Wifi did not work. Elevator incredibly slow. Air quality in my room was not great, was pretty stale and overpowered by air freshener. The windows were not openable to add fresh air. Food in the restaurant is subpar, with virtually no clean eating options. There are no other food options in the area, as the hotel is located amidst train tracks, gates, car parks and rental lots that seem to stretch to forever. $2 for a small bottle of Poland Springs bottled water in the vending machine.
Very nice room and very friendly staff. Free shuttle to and from airport. Nice rate. Coffee and muffins were available at 4:30 am. Other guests were extremely loud- banging doors and yelling in the hall the entire night. It kept waking us up. Our wake up call rang at 3:40 instead of 4:40. We reserved a shuttle and one of the drivers never showed for work; so at 4:50 on the morning there were four families trying to get to the airport for our flights. The driver was very, very nice but one family was forced to stay behind.
Transportation No consideration for guests
I thought the location was excellent. I really appreciated the free shuttle from the airport. The room was just fine and we ordered pizza. It tasted great. It was as good a rest as a person could have on a layover.
its just fine.the staff is not very helpful. the room is old and not very clean. But its fine for that price.
I liked being picked up from airport by courtesy car. I liked the selection of movies. I thought the hotel was very good value for money. The front of house receptionist stayed on a personal call all the time she was checking me making it hard to ask her questions and i found it a bit unprofessional. She was very helpful however later when my remote control did not work she got me a new one and was able to answer all my queries well.
We really liked how close the hotel was to the airport. The shuttle between the airport and the hotel was about 5 minutes. If you're not used to road noise you may have difficulty sleeping
Basic accommodation for the budget traveler. Stay only if you missed your flight out of Newark or have a connection. Had specifically requested a non-smoking room. They had only smoking rooms available. The smell was so bad that my wife and I had to keep the windows open (in December !) to breathe some fresh air. As a small mercy the housekeeping gave us some room freshener to spray. The on-site restaurant is too pricey. The breakfast at the restaurant ($11) was not at all good. The front-desk did not mention that the restaurant would be closing early. When we reached the front desk, they just gave us a Chinese take-out menu. This worked out better because the Chinese food was much cheaper and tastier (I'd recommend that). The good part is that the hotel had an airport shuttle. If you don't have a car, that's a cheap way to get to the city and other places.
location and the fact it had onsite Restaurant
Love how close to New York and how easy was to get on and off the highway. The water pressure was low.
Airport shuttle came late and the staff refused to help us with the timing of the shuttle.
The very unhelpful staff. Expensive prices at the restaurant and the parking.
Front desk staff and hotel shuttle driver were fantastic. Room service was prompt and thorough.
The hotel is close to the airport with a frequent shuttle service between the hotel and the airport. It is basic and not the most luxurious or fancy hotel, but we didn't want to pay the price for that kind of hotel. This one was clean, the rates were reasonable and it is far enough away from the runway that it wasn't noise but close enough to make it a short transfer. It may not be where I would choose to stay for a holiday but if I wanted somewhere convenient to stay before or after a flight, then I would definitely use it again.
A shout-out to the Newark Airport Marriott for their excellent customer service. Having taken a red-eye and landing in Newark at 5:55 yesterday morning, we went straight to the Marriott, not necessarily to check in, but to have them be aware that we were there, because we knew we wouldn't be back to use it until around midnight. The night clerk decided just to check us in early, at 6:30 a.m. We never went to the room, but left for our day in NJ and NY (and Neal Gottlieb 's Survivor viewing party, which was attended by so many relatives and friends). When we returned to the Marriott just past midnight, we attempted to print our board passes for this morning. When that didn't work, the same night clerk offered to try during the night and have them for us in the morning. Great. We went to our assigned room, and when we opened the door, we saw it was a wreck. It had not been cleaned at all. So it was a trip back to our now favorite night clerk. After explaining the situation, a supervisor got involved. We received an apology, and an upgrade to an executive suite which included a full breakfast. Thank you, Marriott!
Great bed, nice room layout, very quiet and dark which was nice for sleeping. If you close the curtains you will not be able to tell you are essentially in an airport. Restaurant was okay -- not bad, not great. A bit expensive for the quality.
I PAID ALREADY.BUT THE FRONT DESK LET ME PAY AGAIN
The bed was comfy and divine! Check out time was noon. Service fell short. Shuttle took 40 minutes to arrive; I had to call twice. Massive plane delays brought me in at 3 a.m. and it was not fun waiting yet again. First room shown smelled to me of smoke; no problem about changing rooms. However, she said she would slip a new room key under the door while i could sleep (almost 4 a.m. by now) and she did not. It was easier to not leave the room when I woke (bc very tired) then to deal with trying to get a new key to my room when I would be checking out soon. I left hotel at 11:30ish a.m. without coffee but showered.
check in was easy. beds were comfy. It smelled old
The place was very clean and nice, and very professional looking. If you're not a posh business person, it isn't the best. We made the mistake of ordering Dominos to the room, and the hotel was obviously not very happy about "fast food" coming. First of all, they gave the delivery person a hard time and accused her of not really having customers here and being shady, before they finally called my room. Once I confirmed we had indeed ordered pizza, they wouldn't even let the delivery person come into the hotel, and I had to go outside to meet them.
Got in at midnight and still able to grab a quick bit in the restaurant/lounge! Staff was great and never made us feel rushed.
Had to pay for computer access in business suite, no free TV channels…..everything was promotional.
Lobby and restaurants remodeled. You can walk to terminals but a shuttle is provided. Best place you can stay when departing from EWR.
The only reason I was at this hotel is because I missed my connection and was rebooked to leave very early the next morning. The airline did not cover the cost of the stay so I had a choice and picked the Doubletree. From booking to check out the stay was a disaster. The shuttle took over 30 minutes because no one at the hotel notified him people were waiting. Upon check in at 11:30 pm I asked for a 4 am wake up call. I confirmed it before I went to my room. At this point, my phone is completely dead, it wouldn't even turn on. I literally plugged it in and fell into bed. The wake up call never came, but thankfully, due to a a leaky faucet that dripped all night long, I never fell deeply asleep and happened to check my watch at 4:18 am. I got ready and went to the lobby to get coffee, which was supposed to be there 24/7 according to the person who checked me in-- nope, coffee service doesn't start until 6:00 am, a change was made last week. If you are stuck at Newark and are looking for a place ro stay, go somewhere else!
Perfect hotel stay. Everything was lovely from the pool, to our hotel room, to the staff. They even welcome you with hot cookies! The best part is the Hilton Double tree is inexpensive :)
Convenient location to the airport and decent shuttle. The warm cookie is always good. The room was not in good shape. The chairs had big stains on them and things were falling apart. When I checked out and showed the front desk person the pictures of the problems of the room she did not apologize but just glanced at it and said she would tell housekeeping.
Shuttle service to and from airport prompt No breakfast provide unlike most in area
The hotel was comfortable and had all the amenities one could need. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to check-in before 11 a.m. without an additional fee, took advantage of the free shuttle to the airport several times to get to the Amtrak station and head into New York City. When our room keys stopped working at we went to the front desk for assistance, not only did the clerk apologize for the inconvenience, but she advised that if it should happen again, we didn't need to return to the front desk. Instead, we could call from a house phone near the elevator on our floor and they would send someone up to assist us. This hotel provided great value for the price and I would definitely stay there again. When I checked out, I inquired about paying for parking. I was told that I would need to pay at the gate when I left since there were no charges on my room bill. However, I was not advised until I pulled up to the gate that they only accept cash there. Luckily, I had enough cash on hand to pay for my 2 nights of parking, but it would've been nice to have the opportunity to pay by credit card or at least forewarning that only cash is accepted at the gate.
Bed was comfertable, room was clean Wall plugs far from bed Showerhead did not function well
Value, and great view inside from inside balcony Got off elevator and looked for room. Sign said rooms 501-527 left and 529-549 right. My room was 528. Figure that out. It was around 2 corners, but room was great in the end.
Everythings good, thank's!! The room is a little old but everything works and very clean!!
I like that this is a pretty consistent hotel. I've stayed in Doubletrees all over the country and the staff is always friendly, the beds are typically very comfortable and the rooms etc. are always clean. I don't think that customers staying in the hotel should have to pay for parking. It is outrageous to have to make that extra payment when you're already paying a pretty good amount to stay there. Also, it wouldn't hurt to have affordable food in the restaurant. Since you don't have a free breakfast, at least make it affordable.
We experience a problem with our room which we brought to the attention of the weekend night manager The Weeknd manager change the room immediately she informed me that a manager would be contacting me to address my concerns about the room which did not happen. On checkout I brought my concerns up to the front desk manager which in short blamed me for the problem with the room
No hot water in bathroom sink and room heater was not working...switching rooms not an option because hotel was fully booked
