10.0 Excellent
Pros: I think "wow" best describes my experience at Conval from the friendly welcome by Carol and Jamie, amazing breakfast, and superb on-site facilities. I was on the tail-end of a 14-day holiday in Scotland and had stayed in different inns each night, so I have sufficient datapoints to say that this was the best of my stays. I had a spacious Queen bed suite with a separate family room on the side -- more space than in any other location -- and the separate TV area meant we could hang out without disturbing others or each other. My brother was in a separate twin room and we shared a lovely ensuite bathroom. The room was wonderfully appointed with details that helped to make it feel like home, ie a bathrobe and towel bar. The bed and fluffy pillows were very comfortable and i got my best night's sleep there. The view from the room was serene and bucolic as Conval was situated off the main road in the quiet countryside. The hosts provided great pre-information to include directions and restaurant recommendations. The location was also perfect to easily start our whisky trail touring. This B&B had everything to include extremely personable and friendly owners! Loved it!

Pros: Cardhu Country House is down a quiet, lazy country road, just what we were looking for. It is an old church manse and has been kept in the traditional style. It is lovely and charming. It was like stepping into a storybook. We were met by Dave at the front door and he answered all of our questions about the area. Breakfast was outstanding and I was sorry that we hadn't had dinner there the night before. It is a little ride back to town, maybe 15 minutes. There is much to do in the surrounding area. I hope that my travels bring me back to this area because I would stay here again. Dave and Val were the perfect lord and lady of the manor.
Cons: I don't have any specific dislikes. Just a note to other travelers. You can have dinner at the house if you give Dave and Val a day's notice. We were sorry we hadn't made that reservation, it looked marvelous.

Pros: What a little gem of a find this charming and cosy guesthouse is. Booked last minute and after a 10 hour round trip, Argyle House provided the comfort and relaxation we desperately needed for one night before we headed onward to Glasgow. The owner, Diane, was beyond welcoming and helpful, even upgrading our room at no extra charge. After a long Xmas break of travelling, we headed to bed early and slept like logs, to be greeted with a lovely full Scottish breakfast with delightful homemade fresh soda bread the next morning. Would not hesitate to recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat. Only regret was our stay was one night only. Could have stayed much longer in this beautiful guesthouse and delightful village and countryside.

Pros: Second time staying here. The staff remembered us from the last time and they were as superb this time as last. Really personable. Really good range of whisky behind the bar. Food and breakfast were great,
Cons: Bed wasn't as comfy as it could have been, and the curtains could have been thicker to keep out the traffic lights.

Pros: It says it’s in Rothes and it is.
Cons: This is a very plain hotel - at best an inn-standard place. The rooms should be under GBP 50 for the amenities that they (don’t) provide.

Cons: No entertainment in the area but might have been time of year October
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice comfy property, ideal for our short one night stay. Food was absolutely delicious and the staff friendly.
Cons: Minor improvement of a shower mat available in the bathroom would be helpful.

Pros: Perfect for our overnight stay. Very accommodating as we were late - the sat Nav doesn’t take you to the right place. Ask for Rothes, not the hotel. Great steak dinner. Room very warm, clean, comfy and lots of space. Thanks to the hosts.
Cons: Sat nav didn’t take us to the right place and we got a bit lost in the dark!
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff was great and the room was nice. The food was good and the selection of whiskys was great
Cons: Room was in the front of the hotel, which is on a busy through-way. Trucks and other traffic pretty much all night, but not steady enough to be white noise. Shower could use better pressure and be hotter, but was adequate.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great and the people were very friendly. We stayed in a family room and it has everything and clean. Recommend to stay here for anyone.
Cons: Location may be too far from Dufftown as this was the main place we wanted to go. However, the good thing is that we get to explore a new town. Also, the bedding need changing as they were too soft to sleep on.
