9.0 Excellent
Pros: A one night stay but wish I could have stayed longer. Stylish rooms in a lovely country pub in a good location. Cosy, welcoming laid back vibe. Had an excellent lunch in the lovely restaurant. All staff were friendly and efficient.
Cons: Everything was wonderful. However, I was in a ground floor room in the cottage which is located on the roadside. As a solo traveller I would have felt more comfortable being in the main hotel building. I shall be visiting Kidlington again next year and as it is likely I will return to this hotel I shall check the location of the room before booking.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff,coffee, lovely room
Cons: The shower pressure wasn't great
6.0 Good
Cons: I booked a comfy double as I was advised this was only one of 2 rooms available at the property, this was booked after considering reviews on Tripadvisor & your site. On check-in we were advised that we had been upgraded, a little strange being that the property was full! The lady took full payment & then showed us to our room which at first sight looked ok, I’m guessing that as this room was at the top of the property & up several very steep flights of stairs the persons who had booked this room had complained & been swapped with is. As we did not return to the room until later that evening it was to late then to find anyone to ask to move back to our original booking. At no point did any member of the staffing team as us if we were ok or happy with our stay. The room itself was very dark with minimal lighting, making it difficult to get ready in the morning. The mirror on the dresser had seen better days & there were no plugs in front of the larger mirror, so also impossible to use this did hair, makeup etc. A huge beam running across the floor in front of the bathroom & bed made it difficult to manoeuvre around the room & was quite dangerous. Although I understood all rooms to have been renovated this didn’t appear to be the case for this room, the bathroom was nice but again you couldn’t use the mirror if a shorter person due to the shelf stuck across it!! We missed breakfast on Saturday morning & although we were advised prior to our stay that the kitchen was being refurbished & breakfast would remain unaffected. Again this was ok, although serving watered down juice for breakfast & being told it comes from the tap is poor & an even poorer excuse, for £110 per night I expect fresh juice & locally sourced products, the poached egg & avocado was nice. Would we stay again, no there are to many other great options Burford!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful character property lovely rooms and very very friendly staff
10.0 Excellent

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and friendly comfortable bed and good breakfast
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location clean and tidy rooms friendly staff - lovely stay
Cons: Decorating at the time of our visit so wet paint with no signs evening dining closed - breakfast whilst what we had was lovely some things they ran out of and other options weren’t kept topped up such as the fruit! They could also do with regulating the heat in the communal areas as it was either very hot or very cold! The rooms were ok as you can manage this yourselves
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Probably one of the best rooms we’ve stayed in a pub, room was decorated beautifully and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
Cons: We loved the room and wasn’t expecting it to be peaceful as most pub rooms have a certain level of noise (which is fine). Our room overlooked the high street, we noticed the secondary glazing wasn’t intact so the sound of traffic passing throughout the night actually sounded like it was in the room with us so we had disturbed sleep unfortunately. We also thought room was expensive, we have paid similar prices for rooms in luxury hotels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was everything we wanted! Central, clean, beautifully refurbished, and really friendly staff. The bar and restaurant were both great and the food was gorgeous. Absolutely perfect. I couldn’t have asked for any more.
Cons: If you are slightly older be careful where your room is. Steps to first floor are fine but second floor is quite hard with luggage.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice location and restaurant lovely staff and dog friendly
Cons: Kept banging my head as the door ways were so small (I’m not tall) noisy shower very poor water pressure in taps and shower

Pros: Good breakfast and helpful staff. The location is also good. Comfortable bed. One of the electrical outlets in the bedroom included USB charger sockets which is useful. Didn't try the restaurant in the evening so can't comment on that.
Cons: The car park is a bit of a walk, but that's the problem with the whole of Burford - parking is a problem! The staff are happy to help with bags though. Although the bedroom and bathroom were spacious, the sink in the bathroom was tiny.

Pros: Brilliant location, just off the main street.Nice open fires and free newspapers in the bar.
Cons: One rasher of bacon on a full english breakfast seemed a bit mean.

Pros: Dinner was amazing. Room was nice.
Cons: 1) The room we stayed in has an issue with the toilet flush which meant it woke me up as it was stuck open trickling water into the cistern. 2) other guests continually left the door open to the street outside our room which meant the hallway/room was cold. Could the owners put a closer on that door?

5.4 Okay
Pros: Nice clean room, good tv. Ample parking. Near main road.
Cons: The way the manager talked to me when I told him I did not like the food. I ordered a hotpot (regular price £12.95). What I got was a tiny bowl of stew with sliced boiled potato on top. On the plate were unappetizing green beans and carrots (boiled from frozen?). When I said that this was not hot pot as the potatoes need to be thinly sliced and cooked with the meat I was told that "this is how we do it". I showed him many photos of hot pots on google but he was having none of it and argued and was nasty. I returned it to the kitchen but he told the lady at the till 'she's paying for it!'. The other lady behind the bar was angry with me too as the 'chef' was her son. Very unprofessional, nasty, aggressive and an altogether horrible experience. I was tempted to call the Police because of the way I was treated (single woman alone). Please note: there was no swearing however I have never had such a bad experience in hospitality.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was quiet, modern and clean. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were helpful.
Cons: Nothing really, it exceeded my expectations.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The place where it's situated is in lovely surroundings very nice place.
Cons: We always stay here when we visit Oxford. .slightly dissapointed this time seems to have gone down from when we stayed just before Xmas. .The 1.staff that wad there just said good morning but we're very reluctant to hold a conversation we were the only ones for breakfast very limited choice and much smaller portions than previously... think we were the only ones staying usually very busy but i do think staff need to communicate with customers more ...it's a shame as it's a lovely place...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, friendly, helpful staff, everywhere very clean and excellent location for Blenheim and Oxford. Would certainly recommend.
Cons: Nothing considering what we paid.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We missed breakfast this time, but usually it's very good.
Cons: nothing specific.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was larger than I expected it to be and the beds comfortable. The bathroom had been modernised to a good standard, not easy for an older building. We decided to have a "carpet picnic" in our room for dinner and there was a supermarket located less than 5 minutes walk away. The breakfast included in the room rate was provided in the co-located cafe/restaurant, which was good quality.
Cons: Check in process was not ideal. Although my booking confirmation stated that check in was 2-6pm, the office was unattended when we arrived at a little after 5pm. I had to ring a couple of the different numbers listed on the doorway before getting an answer, from someone located at a different property. When the girl did arrive she was pleasant and the check in went smoothly from there. Just not a great experience when you've been travelling all day and you're feeling tired.

Cons: Lighting for putting makeup on
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The location was ideal for us.
Cons: The only downside was when other guests walked along the corridor to their rooms it felt as if they were in the room with you it was that noisy

4.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good. Manager was understanding of our frustration.
Cons: Room was very tired, damaged and not looked after. Was nothing like the photos online. I paid for a superior room and there was nothing superior about the room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We all had a lovely time at Blue Boar and would go again. There was one particular member of staff who stood out for excellent personalised service and who was so kind to an old lady who appeared to be confused about bus times and was wandering in and around the property. The member of staff (and I really wish I picked up her name) made sure that the old lady got safely on the bus. She wasn't a paying guest but was shown the same respect as everyone else. The food was lovely, the rooms were comfortable....and clean. The rooms we had in the main Hotel were great but a lot of stairs so not ideal for those with disabilities. It may be worth checking the room locations if you have a disability or are particularly unfit when you book That said, we had a wonderful family time in Witney with excellent food in the evening (the gentleman who cooked the pizzas from scratch then cooked them in a pizza oven worked like a Trojan all Saturday night) and for a town centre located property was a great find.
Cons: Cost of the wine. We made the mistake of looking up to see if we could get a wine we ordered in a Supermarket as we enjoyed it. It was just shy of £8.00 in Sainsbury's but cost £29.00 each at dinner which was a shocker and whilst we expect a mark up, we felt a little bit cheated by the cost and I know they would have bought the wine for less than £8.00.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Basic but clean, warm and comfy.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, and in general the quality of food was superb. I was surprised with the size of the room, which was larger than usual for the UK. Staff were very friendly & courteous.
Cons: A little more wardrobe space would be nice although I used the chest of drawers to the full extent. It would have been nice with a desk & chair to catch up on emails or work on a laptop.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location in the centre of town. Clean and modern with a nice bar.
Cons: The keycard for the late night door didn't work so we were lucky to find a member of staff to let us in.
6.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very nice, good shower
Cons: The room was very basic, not really worth the money I paid.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly, great location value for money. Breakfast is lovely but could you make you portion beans a proper mans portion thanks.

Pros: Good stay. We got a very comfortable room. The room was very clean and the bathroom was also clean and comfortable. The accommodation is lovely and the room was romantic. The bed was what we expected. So we had a good stay with a good breakfast at this place.

4.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good. Manager was understanding of our frustration.
Cons: Room was very tired, damaged and not looked after. Was nothing like the photos online. I paid for a superior room and there was nothing superior about the room.

Pros: Basic but clean, warm and comfy.

Pros: Fantastic location in the centre of town. Clean and modern with a nice bar.
Cons: The keycard for the late night door didn't work so we were lucky to find a member of staff to let us in.
