The original Elizabethan-Gothic style home, built in 1850 for one of Manchester's wealthy industrial elite, is in keeping with many grand mansions on 'The Edge'. 9.0 Excellent
Pros: Brown sauce!
Cons: Having to go home
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location within walking distance of the village. Nice new reception area from our last stay, Lovely staff.
Cons: Very small room this time but still comfortable. Did get rather noisy in the mornings, think it was kids running about. To be fair we haven't experienced this on previous visits.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: beautiful garden, close to village with good restaurants, excellent service
Cons: small room. no air conditioning. musty smell in room
6.7 Good
Pros: Location was perfect for visiting friends. Clean and decent size tv.
Cons: On arrival we checked in no bother and added breakfast, got to the room door (on the second floor) where the phone was ringing before we had entered the room. It was the Receptionist saying she forgot to take payment, I went down immediately to pay. On checkout there was confusion over my room when they realised they had charged me £20 less than it should have been and made a bit of a fuss tying to explain themselves, any other hotel wouldn’t let it go as their mistake, anyway paid and left. Room and bed were small and the bed was uncomfortable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent and the hotel was Really modern...breakfast was fantastic!
Cons: Our room could have been a little bigger.

Located in Alderley Edge, De Trafford Hotel by Greene King Inns is within a 10-minute drive of Capesthorne Hall and Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Estate. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing
Cons: Nothing
6.0 Good
Pros: staff were friendly
Cons: Very noisy - LOTS of traffic from the surrounding roads. Other guests returning late, drunk and loud in corridors (although not controllable, the walls were very thin). Basic/Outdated furnishing - room felt old and dated, bathroom was very industrial.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The de Trafford just felt welcoming and we really liked all the staff we met. It was warm, the beds were comfortable and the water was hot. Shower quite good by hotel standards as well. It was in a good location for us and changes that we needed to our arrangements both before and during our stay were accommodated without fuss. The cooked breakfast was freshly cooked and hot and speedily produced.
Cons: It's clean but a bit shabby. Tiles loose in the bathroom, red plastic plugs in the tiles where the loo paper holder had once been. The hospitality tray was not well stocked and the milk sachets in my room were off. Though the cooked breakfast was very good, the breakfast buffet was tired and uninspiring and the coffee, provided in insulated jugs was not hot enough or fresh enough. Nowadays fresh hot coffee and tea should come from the kitchen, not from storage jugs. Hotel breakfasts are the best part of being away from home for me and we wouldn't have minded paying a bit more in order to improve this side of things.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing - truly dismal
Cons: Old, tired, uncared for, noisy

7.0 Good
Pros: Only booked the room as arriving into Manchester after overnight flight and wanted somewhere to freshen up prior to a business meeting. Easy to get to from the airport, quick check in and provided just what was required.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little place. Good Parking. 20 minutes walk to the towncentre
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful staff
Cons: No lift and I was on crutches . Also said breakfast included but did NOT state it was only bread, jam, apples and cereals. Had to pay extra for cooked breakfast.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room size was large, clean and comfortable. Really excellent value for money, excellent customer service
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: The poorest quality mattress I have experienced in a very long while. I woke with a bad back. I booked the hotel knowing that breakfast was included, and when I went for breakfast, I was told that that a cooked breakfast would cost extra. I was not told that on check in. The so-called continental breakfast laid on was by far the poorest I have ever experienced. Not a croissant or pastry insight, but simply some cereal and some bread for toast together with some very aged fruit. Very very poor indeed and for these reasons, I would not recommend this hotel at all. Picture of the breakfast attached.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely comfortable and spacious room. Friendly staff. Great menu
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was ideal for purpose. Whilst the rooms were adequate there was nothing special about them. Fair price. Breakfast was basic but sufficient.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: lovely quiet location yet not all that far from Macclesfield. Beautiful countryside all around with a fantastic view of Manchester in the distance. Great swimming pool and gym facilities.
Cons: Rooms are pretty average but the rest of the hotel makes up for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel and facilities - plenty on offer. The hotel had a couple of suggested walks, we did the 6.5 mile option from the hotel and it was lovely. We had dinner on one night and afternoon tea included - this felt like good value.
Cons: Check in was poor - our booking apparently could not be found and we were not offered any reassurance that we would have a bed for the night. We were not given any information about the bottle of wine we got or how to book dinner/afternoon tea.
6.3 Good
Pros: Great location and room very nice. The golf course looks good.
Cons: Hotel needs a refurb and some of the staff don't seem very friendly (who would be on their pay!) The Spa could be cleaner. It would have been nice to be able to walk around the grounds, but golf and H&S stops that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Meals were fantastic, hotel and staff in top shape. Just sorry I couldn't stay another day and walk the exquisite grounds. Well done all!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the views and room.
Cons: A little worn now the spa facilities
7.7 Good
Pros: Staff very helpful, a quite location of hotel, plenty of parking spaces, breakfast is excellent lots of choice, a few minuets drive to a local village named Bollington which has a few restaurant's and cafes.

6.3 Good
Pros: The hotel and grounds are beautiful, the staff were very good.
Cons: Both myself and my wife woke up covered in bites! The pillows were very uncomfortable
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quirky decoration but modern, clean and stylish. Staff were fantastic and very well trained. Dinner and breakfast were very relaxed and good food.
Cons: Parking is limited close to the hotel but there is a public car park near by
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent for Manchester airport. Didn't have breakfast. The room was well equipped although would have benefited from more USB ports. The bathroom was compact and needed a few more hooks for hanging towels etc
Cons: Lack of bath robes. The evening meal in the bar was overpriced for the meal provided. There were not enough parking spaces at the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff super helpful friendly and go out their way to make my stay extra special.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room was gorgeous- very modern shower and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Staff were lovely and helpful, nice touch that the staff showed us to our room. Restaurant is expensive, but was one of the nicest meals out I’ve ever had so worth it for a treat. Already planning our next visit.
Cons: It wasn’t signposted very well so we got lost. Would be better if milk was in the fridge for hot drinks rather than have to call down for it.

7.0 Good
Pros: Staff at the hotel are excellent and always friendly & the fly stay package is good value for money
Cons: Shower was dirty and covers barely covered the single beds. Airport transfer system has changed, you no longer call them upon your return in the country you wait a a bus stop for the external operator (works in conjunction with the hotel but not provided BY the hotel) we waited an HOUR in the freezing cold spoek to the taxi company twice to be told twice he was just coming up to the terminal (as they are tracked) and twice the failed to show...it was freezing cold and when he did show he initially refused to let us on the bus saying he was going somewhere else! I had already been told by the hotel after finally giving up and calling them that the current driver was due to finish and another was taking over....so there was no way we were sitting any longer in the cold. Driver finally let us on telling us that the other driver must have a puncture!!!! What other driver!!! Shame as this service has been excellent in the past and one of the reasons we use the hotel every time we fly from Manchester.....honestly will rethink next time.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing.

7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff in the restaurant. Comfortable bed.
Cons: Cobwebs in room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice to have a separate dining area away from the bar. A lot of the Village hotels seem to have merged the bar and restaurant into one large modern sports type bar which can be very noisy and busy. Nice to have a quiet area to sit and eat comfortably
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Even though the bed was low down it was very comfy.
Cons: We were given a disability room which meant the bed was low down to the ground. The bathroom was also a wet room and the sink was too low down. The check in service is all done by yourself and on a machine rather than a member of staff doing this for you.

5.0 Okay
Pros: decent gym. Good shower in room.
Cons: Room freezing cold upon arrival and no instructions as to how to use heating system quickly and effectively. Was given ‘insider’ tips by receptionist upon checking out! A little late but clearly she was used to receiving such feedback and acknowledged the capricious nature of the system- so why not give advice at check in or set up heating prior to guest arriving??? Insufficient number of staff at reception and breakfast so long queues. Apart from traditional British fry up breakfast very limited choice, barely any cold meats, fish, cheese. Only one type of jam and limited variety of bread available. Coffee half cold. Poor value for money. Week end gym hours very restrictive. Overall a very disappointing experience and not at all value for money. Not sure that I will stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The attention to detail for the children they enjoyed their cosy bed, special drinks and chocolate left for them. Then waking up and playing in the pool.

Cons: It's a bit dated, it was too busy in the spa so took some of the relaxation away. The spa treatment wasn't amazing given the price

Pros: Andrew and Sian on Reception were welcoming, with great personalities! We felt lovely and safe in the hotel while storm Ciara was causing havoc across the North West
Cons: Other guests were very noisy outside our door, but I realise the hotel can't do much about that except perhaps better soundproofing
4.0 Okay
Pros: ok
Cons: The noise of the planes and staff banging doors during the night when accessing staff rooms
7.0 Good
Pros: location, comfortable, ideal as hotel for just a few nights if on business.
Cons: room had carpet with stains, needed cleaning
5.0 Okay
Cons: The breakfast is pitiful. it's £14.99 per person or £10pp if you book in advance. We paid for two people to have it and despite staying previously and finding it has a good selection this time it was poor. The pancake machine wasnt working, the toaster is so low you will spend around 20 mins waiting for your toast or crumpets and the only hot food on offer was rubbery scrambled eggs, beans, sausage and bacon. So for a vegetarian (as I am) you are paying £10 (or more) for eggs and beans. When I asked if it was possible to have a fried egg rather than the gross looking scrambled egg I was told no. When we complained about the breakfast on leaving we were just told "I'll pass your comments on to management, we are trying something new". Something new being that you pay the same money as previously but get less. No apology, no partial refund or discount for next time. There is a place literally across the road that is the same price for a much better better breakfast. don't waste your money and go there instead

7.0 Good
Pros: Only booked the room as arriving into Manchester after overnight flight and wanted somewhere to freshen up prior to a business meeting.
