Most companies try to upgrade you if they don’t have the car requested. Avis gives you an inferior car but you pay the same price. My last ex with Avis was supposed to be my last- in Florida after 40 minute wait ( watching customers who came in later flight get cars) I was given a car that hadn’t been cleaned or checked it. When I returned you tried to charge me for damage from that previous client.. really sloppyReviewed 27 Aug 2025

Received a car with no working AC in the middle of the summer in France. It was awful. I did bring it to their attention upon pulling out of the rental parking garage and I was told to just give it time to kick in. Will 2 hours away and still no AC. Worst experienceReviewed 24 Jul 2024

Price was good for the 12-day rental. It was exhausting at the time of car pickup, the lady kept trying to upsell me on a bigger car, more insurance coverage. What could take 10 minutes for signing the rental agreement, took over 30 minutes. Everything else was amazing.Reviewed 8 Nov 2023
