I prepaid my car in full. When I finally got to the counter after waiting an hour in line they had my reservation but said I didn't pay yet. I had to wait another hour for the manager to call me, who was of no help. I had to pay again and this time had to pay $100 more than I paid originally. Not I have to fight with Budget to get my well deserved money back. Absolutely awful. Will never ever rent from Budget again and will tell everyone in the world to stay away.Reviewed 15 Apr 2024

The entire experience could not have been worse! 2 1/2 hours in line (in spite of pre paying, and ensuring I was part of the Fast Break program) to be given a 12 passenger van at an offsite lot. I will never use Budget (or Avis) again...Reviewed 30 Mar 2024

My rental car was a mini-van instead of the medium size SUV I reserved. More importantly, this vehicle when running had the thermostat stuck at 76 degrees and the screen would not turn on for me to neither adjust temperature or change the radio station. Any time I was driving, the dashboard would beep alerting me of ‘maintenance required’. Also since maintenance was required, the blind side alert and backup camera would not work but again car would beep every 15 seconds reminding me of this fact. The thermostat stuck at 76 degrees made for a very uncomfortable ride and with all the issues with the dashboard I also for some reason could not roll down the windows either. It was stifling hot so I always had a headache due to the temperature in the vehicle. My first time using Budget. Would not recommend.Reviewed 25 Feb 2024

Car performed well, but smelled from smoke. Very excessive wait time at counter before being able to speak to agent. Pre-registering had almost no effect on the total time required to complete the rental transaction. We had a one way rental starting in CHS an ending in Hilton Head. We prepaid gas. The car tire went flat on the second day. Luckily we were still in Charleston. It took over an hour to trade out the car as the folks receiving it made me go back and forth to the counter. Then they closed out my contract inappropriately. We got an upgraded car which was nice however when we went to turn in the car the prepay was not there and the gent in Hilton Head said the car was supposed to be returned in CHS.Reviewed 3 Feb 2024

Long line. Staff was not motivated and indifferent. We booked a Toyota Camry or similar but was offered a Kia EV which is not suitable for plan to drive a long distance. When quietiedd about a petrol car, we were offered a Lexus but had to pay $20 per day and no other choice. Just like take it or leave it scenario. Frankly not impressed.Reviewed 15 Oct 2023
