We pick up the car 1 hour early and I ask the guy at the counter is it ok if we take it now. He said yes, and then charged me an extra full day with telling me it would cost another full days rate to take it early. So be careful when doing business with Avis in Fairbanks! They are not very honest so use caution and pay attention to the fine prints.Reviewed 31 Aug 2024

Did not receive the class of car I reserved, and the vehicle was in poor shape. Budget refused to make things right, once again. I still had to pay for an SUV even though I was downgraded to a smaller vehicle.Reviewed 6 Jul 2021

I reserved a mid-size SUV but when I arrived at the pickup counter, only a compact car was available. Budget refused to adjust the price accordingly, and I was still charged for the SUV. The car I received was dirty, contained garbage (including a used mask!) from the previous user, and had a warning light / notification that I had to look at all week. The tires were also pretty worn out which made driving in the rain precarious. This will be my last time renting with Budget, because I always end up having an issue with my rental, and they are never willing to make things right.Reviewed 6 Jul 2021

Pros:The drop off was delightful, but the pickup was not great. The car was clean and filled with gas and easy to take off!Cons:The person running the counter seemed annoyed to be working and was so brief with us that we didn't exactly know what was needed from us when it came to inspecting the car and how to return it. When I had some questions about what I was signing off on, the lady was brief and laughed that I even had questions. It was frustrating and rude.
