Pros: Amazing boutique Hotel, stunning property, every detail very well taken care off. Cutest restaurant, every plate is served with such beautiful presentation. The best part of our stay was the hotel staff, we were very well taken care off, personalized experience. Can’t thank Annie enough for how she oversaw and help arrange details of our stay, including personalized our day tours. Made our stay a memorable one. We will be back!

Pros: The staff were so attentive here, always offering bottled water, reminding you when it's happy hour, giving suggestions for where to eat in town, and just overall happy people. We had a great stay here and utilized the pool a bit to relax, enjoying 2 for 1 happy hour! Overall the room was clean and the bathroom was really nice. We enjoyed breakfast with a view of the river. The tree in the photos is also breathtaking and really the focal point of the whole hotel!

Pros: This is definitely the best hotel we have stayed in Chiang Mai. We were welcomed by the warmest greetings once we stepped feet into the front desk area - and got lucky for receiving an upgrade to our rooms to the royal deluxe rooms. All the staff here are so attentive and make you feel just like home. We also tried out the spa in the hotel - which was amazing beyond words (we felt asleep midway cause it was way too comfortable). The price of the spa was very reasonable too given the level of service they offer. We also had breakfast in the Time restaurant - you can enjoy a bit of the sunshine while enjoying your breakfast in the balcony area. A highly recommended true 5-star hotel! Would love to return here for our next trip!

Pros: I stayed 4 nights in this beautiful place. The hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of the old city and right in the middle of the many pulsing night markets. Just step out of the hotel and you are right there. The room is big and has all the amenities you need away from home. The bed was very huge and comfortable and the bed linens were just heavenly. I stayed on the 16th floor in room 1616 with a wonderful view over the city and into the mountains. The staff throughout the hotel was outstanding, they are all doing a fantastic job and their kindness was excellent. Although there are many check in and check outs all day and night long of individual and large groups travellers and as I assume their work load is heavy they are always and at any time smiling and greating you and spreading good vibes. Thanks so much to all of you at Meridian, keep up doing great.

Pros: The security lady at the 1st floor entrance was so kind, truly felt welcomed. The hotel's pool and pool side service is excellent. The staff brings sunscreen, insect repellent, icy water, a few slices of melon and towels as soon as you get to the pool. Pros:
Cons: poor welcome on arrival - and no information provided way too much security procedures - got treated more like a terrorist than like a guest everytime I would arrive at the hotel with my rental motorbike extremely poor sound proofing in the room - got awaken several times throughout the night by the room next door (they were chatting not even shouting, good for them it was in Chinese otherwise I would have understood everything...)

Cons: Everything ! The fact that they really spoiled us for our honeymoon was amazing!

Pros:
Cons: Upon check-in we were pushed to upgrade so we could have breakfast included. I've traveled all over Asia and haven't had to pay extra nonetheless made me feel like I was a peasant. The service was average. Tried to fill up the tub for my other half and there were pubic hairs floating around. The room was also cleaned better based on how much tip I left. I had great experiences at other Shangri-La hotels but this wasn't one of them.

Cons: The condo next door is being constructed, so we had to bear a constant construction noise at the pool side, but it is not the hotel's fault. The room is not as clean as I would like. The carpet is a bit old and is stained. The room air condition fan noise is loud even at the lowest fan speed setting. The most of the hotel staff did an excellent job of providing good service, but noticed the land of thousand smiles is no where to be found with a few staff.

Pros: Brilliant service unparallelled. Love that we could walk to the night bazaars. Taxi/tuktuk service very accessible. Cuisine is superb. Great ambience.
Cons: We've been there a few times before. We love the efficient & prompt service with a smile. However, we did find the bed a little on the hard side, but was rectified by putting a duvet mattress - problem solved. Also, our room 1715 needs a maintenance on aircon fan - intermittent whine. Staff whilst friendly, perhaps could need a little help in understanding English language.

Pros: It was very quiet and relaxing and the staff were very friendly. The buffet breakfast was also very good.
Cons: The timber decking around the pool needs to be redone. The timber slats are worn and loose and it is a safety issue. It also doesn’t look good for a hotel of this standard.

Pros: The hotel is well located - easy access to old town and night market. The size of the room are good- the welcome by mr Beer was very good
Cons: The wifi is horrible up and down all the time and for business people is very bad during the 3 days - the food in the restaurant is poor quality as well the service needs to be upgraded. Pros: The furniture and the decor is so antique Thai
Cons: The jacuzzi has serious plastic smell when we turn on the hot water, so we never use it even the jacuzzi was one of the reason why we chose this hotel... kind of disappointed. The light in the room is too dark in some point that I can’t feel happy any more. But in day time it’s fine. The ceiling was too low that I feel pressured, not to mention we are Asian couple not really tall actually.

Pros: Gorgeous little (55 room) boutique hotel in the middle of the best bit of the Old City (southeast corner). Incredibly serene, like it's name, reminiscent of the Ratchamanka, although half the price. Just the right amount of ricketyness to remind you that you are in Chiang Mai, but efficient enough to keep the average farang happy. Near everything in the city, and has the best cookie shop ever just on the corner.

Pros: A Very decent option right in the middle of old town Chiang Mai. The property is very compact, rooms are adequate, beds are comfortable. The breakfast options are varied and plentiful and there are free bicycles to borrow. The free airport pick up is reliable, and the driver was there to fetch us from the airport on time

Pros: Location was close to everything. Pool was very clean and properly was clean. Everyone that worked during breakfast was friendly and smiled a lot. Maid service did a fantastic job with our room everyday and left plenty of towels.
Cons: Staff were only helpful when asked. Customer service could be improved a lot. Wait staff at restaurant seemed to be more interested in being on their phones than waiting on guests. Front desk staff also were consumed with their phones and didn’t greet us very well. The bed in our room had a topper, however still was very and I mean very hard.

Pros: Very peaceful in the low season, had the pool to myself lots of times. Staff very helpful. Excellent location you can walk to anywhere.

The art and decor and overall style of the hotel superb. Good reception service and great staff in the restaurant and bar /pool area. Helpful and happy. Very accommodating.
Cons: added tax on all the food and drinks - like the service is in the USA - not applicable to Thailand / signing after every thing you had (again, not Thai style), breakfast was bland, hardly Asian and lacking in vegetarian options, and the main menu also lacked Asian options, too westernised and too much catered for USA guests. What Asian food there was - was cooked differently every time, one was delicious and spicy the next time it was bland, tasteless, not cooked as described on the menu and missing half the ingredients and not even mildly spicy/ catering to un-asian western tastes, disappointing considering the expensive costs.

Pros: The breakfast was really tasty, I tried all the non American foods, but there was cereal, toast, danishes, fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, sausage, etc.
Cons: I know the masseurs are from an outside spa and they worked with the small space our room provided them, but they could totally use more pressure during the massages
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast and dinner in restaurant both good food with wide choices. A very calm, relaxed atmosphere. Great position in the old town.
Cons: The towels need to be replaced as both discoloured and smelly.

Just the right amount of ricketyness to remind you that you are in Chiang Mai, but efficient enough to keep the average farang happy. Near everything in the city, and has the best cookie shop ever just on the corner.
Cons: Needs as bit of polish to be truly 5 star - staff are young and lovely but language barriers do exist- admittedly they seem to speak a little bit of everything, which is great considering how international the clientele can be. No 24 hour room service, finishes at 10:30, but there is a 7-11 across the road for essentials (no booze after midnight, and you are in Chiang Mai, so easy to find late refreshment if needed). Wine list very limited, but that is normal for Thailand!

Cons: Nothing much to say that I didn't like. Only thing I can think of is some mold at the ceiling of the shower. Not too much and nothing that can be done to prevent this except a little better ventilation in the bathroom. But honestly, it was barely noticable.

Pros: The location was good for us. When we had waterleak in the toilet, they gave very fast new room. In the earthquake the hotel was shakeing, but we had lucky, nothing dropped down. The gym was good.
Cons: The pool area needed good cleaning with the brush and some detergent and many hands! The tiles on the floor was so dirty.... and the windovs in the gym- dirty . The room was clean, thanks for that. We had in one night very noisy neigbours, we had to call to the reception, because the walls are so thin, that You can hear all, what is happening outside. In Thailand grows so many fruits - why in the breakfast they had allways the same selection? The pool area needed new sunbeds. Most of those were in bad condition.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: The bell hops service when departing. When I asked assistance for a taxi to the airport they acted like it was hard for them to find/contact a taxi service. When they did I was quoted a price of 200 baht. When I questioned the fee which was more that cost from the airport to the hotel. They said, Okay, I will cancel the taxi. So, I walked outside and across the street to another hotel and got a taxi.

Cons: The elevator is slow. The express elevator was crowded with loud Chinese people. It took almost 15 minutes to take the elevator down for checkout.

Pros: The location is good. Within walking distance to the street stalls and marketplace. Hotel breakfast was good but having exactly the same menu for the 2 days is about enough. Massage services easily available for a very reasonable rate. Depending on your luck, some of the masseurs are good and some are just spreading the oil over your back. Quite a good variety of food within the hotel area. The chinese restaurant just across from the hotel serves delicious food with reasonable prices. If you want ambience and don't mind paying for it, try the The Thai Indian food , Good Earth Restaurant, which is just a few blocks from the hotel.

Pros: Breakfast is really nice! Well located 3 min walk to Iron Bridge for ex.
Cons: Stayed 3 nights for Loy Krathong. This hotel doesn't deserve all these stars, difficulty to talk in english with the team reception, lack of employees, long time client handling and bad organization. The day I arrived at the airport they forgot to come (even they confirmed the catch-up one day before) and I waited 20minutes the hotel taxi and be charged 150baths. For information, no possibility to book visit tour with this hotel. WIFI connexion is so bad (terrible)!

Cons: My apologies to the management but here is a list of our complaints : Firstly, the door knob is wobbly and the key takes a long while to fit in before the door can be opened. The room is rather dim and both plug points in the room are faulty. Had to remove the TV plug to boil water. The fridge was not working and the technician just use another plug point to fix it. The toilet taps are very noisy and we can hear the guests from the next room whenever they are using the taps. Same thing as when they flushes the toilet. The toilet bowl handle is rather rusty so one needs to use force to flush. The tiny bottle of bath foam is hardly enough for 1 person, let alone two of us. Basically, the hotel is old and needs to be refurbished.
