Setting; general comfort - room and bed were excellent. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast good Disappointed by evening meal - lack of vegetarian choices (had to ask) Food itself was pleasant but felt it was limited for a four star hotel.
Modern hotel in a beautiful setting. Clean and relaxing.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Nice comfortable room. Enjoyable breakfast. We enjoyed our stay at the Four Pillers
Food was very good and also value for money. Staff were very helpful and friendly
the great view, the rooms the breakfast
Clean rooms, friendly staff and great spa facilities. Very well placed for a weekend exploring the Cotswolds.
nice friendly staff
Great location, friendly, accomodating and corteous staff, clean rooms. Great steam room. Would definately return.
A clean comfortable hotel & spa in a fantastic setting. No air conditioning, and the food was not very hot.
Very nice room
Good size comfortable rooms. Hotel lakeside location is quite and relaxing
The staff were friendly and the hotel is quirky and original rather than anonymous and part of a boring chain. It's only a minor quibble breakfast could have more options particularly for vegetarians.
Convenience for main town!
It's location The room was quite dated, the bed was a bit small and the electrics in the bathroom seemed a bit dodgy
Excellent breakfasts Creaking floorboards & limited a la carte choice
Welcoming and friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Always feel comfortable there. Corridors and potentially room over heated...phew !!banging doors early hours of the morning.
The peace and quiet and friendlyness of the staff. The location was also an advantage.
I have stayed there twice before and standards have been maintained. The 1651 restaurant is good for this standard of hotel. Cirencester is well located for the Cotswolds. Nothing in particular, except maybe to note that the bookings.com blurb says that there is internet access in thh room. Not in my room, there wasn't! But it was available free in public areas, so no big deal overall.
The staff was excellent. I enjoyed the breakfasts each morning and enjoyed sitting in the lounge throughout the day. Didn't much care for the twin bed and the lack of A/C. They should make fans available as it got quite warm.
Location and friendly staff
Good resturant attached Bathrooms were a bit shabby
The breakfast was excellent Near a busy road
All staff were very helpful and courteous. The carparking is in a secure area. The breakfasts were well cooked and plentiful. The rooms were very comfortable as was the bed.
This hotel has been built primarily as an accomodation facility for the Mitsubishi UK head office. It is on their site, and you are required to pass though security check point to enter/exit. This is also a 24 production site, and therefore the noise levels in the night are unacceptable. The staff avialable were friendly enough, but there seemed to be only two of them. The bar was open for only three hours during in our 48 hour stay. The photograph on this site shows the main entrance, however if the photographer were to turn 180 degrees, the scene is of a manufacturing facility. If you are holidaying in cirensester, there are many other hotels in this price bracket in better locations and with better facilities. 1 out of 5
The breakfast was superb
It was convenient and comfortable. I liked the decor. Although I knew it was room only when I booked, I only found out afterwards that there was no catering, bar etc at all after I booked.
Very clean and functional and good staff on the gate Unfortunately no heating or hot water in the double room on the second night! No one to call unfortunately because it was a holiday. Difficult to find.
There is no refrigerator in the room, if you want something to drink you have to get it before 8:30 PM in the Bar ore ells it is closed.
The manager Jackie was friendly and helpful and provided me a map to get through the tangle of sequential roundabouts . The town has a lovely downtown and there are a few restaurants there to choose to eat your dinner. It has an excellent location at the fringe of the Cotswalds and only an hour and a half to Heathrow. It has a neigbourhood pub "the Bees Knees" very close by to have a brew. the carpet was heavily stained in our room on arrival. We did not want to be blamed for this condition so we mentioned this to Jackie the manager. Despite the hotel being almost empty, we were not offered an alternate room. ..???
Clean & well furnished room. Excellent breakfast. Excellent site security. The bathroom had no bath, only a shower. This is not clear from the information on the website. Also there was a noisy electric motor somewhere close by which kept turning on & off throughout the night. This woke me up.
the area .great golf ,lovely hotel and apartmeents very clean .and the staff are always helpfull at all times.we have stayed twice now and will be booking again ..many thanks mr and mrs pickard. n/a
the apartment was nice
The staff were all superb. Apartment clean & spacious. Wasn't aware, if there is one,of an option to request a water view. Our apartment looked out over the car park.
Excellent facilities in the self catering appartments. Everything clean, modern and in good working order. I thought the room service 'take away' service was very poor and the on site 'gastro pub' was very overpriced and of a low standard. There was no really good child friendly food option anywhere which was a shame. If I stayed again, I would not use any of the on site restaurants. Also, a lot of road noise.
Good food & friendly staff
we stayed in an apartment, which was spacious, well equipped and had a feel of luxury about it. Because of the large lounge, our neighbours had a party of people in their room which kept us awake both nights, the walls are paper thin, perhaps have signs up about keeping the noise down after 11pm or move beds to other wall. it was a shame because neither of us slept.
1. Apartment is confusing. Security key is needed even to access the Lobbt/Kitchenette area. 2. As per website, I was to believe that full English Breakfast is available for gbp 6.00 per head, but I was billed @ 12.95 per head. 3. There is just no utility shop in the vicinity, which is very essential for a foreigner like me, who has to rely on taxi-service for travelling
The whole place is fantastic!! The area, the surroundings, the facilities and the apartment!! The best part was the balcony over the lake! Just a shame it rained the whole weekend so we couldn't make the most of it!! The in room services are great although we didn't get to use them all there were options of take aways, bbq supplies and picnic hampers! All very reasonably priced!! Also had a wonderful, well needed massage at spa6! My husband did the cable wake boarding which is the next lake up- thoroughly enjoyed it!! We plan to go back in the summer to make the most of the beautiful surroundings!! The pool is a hydro pool which is great but I couldn't take my baby in there, which is something I was looking for when looking for accommodation!! Such a shame, especially with the weather being bad!! The reason I was given as well was that it will be too hot for her which sometimes makes babies sick in the pool!!
wonderful lake view and great board walk around the chotel and lake. huge comfy bed.
1 bed apartment was perfect size for two people and outlook over Lake 6 excellent - complete with visiting swans, ducks & coots. Not enough kitchen equipment - no casseroles or bowls or oven gloves. Better if there had been another couple of small pans- especially when only cooking for 2. Would have been useful to have grater and extra cutlery (no soup spoons).
Restaurant meals expensive and not much choice, better to have a bar meal
Staff were polite and very efficient. Food was excellent and good value - available from lunchtime until 10pm. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Lovely rural location and very peaceful. Room and bathroom spotless and comfortable. Minor criticism is lack of overhead cover from hotel to bar and restaurant so glad it wasn't raining.
The hotel is situated in the countryside next to a stream. Breakfast is quite good. On booking .com there is no opportunity to book a twin or double for sole occupancy, there for I booked a double knowing I was solo. I arrived in the evening to find they had given me a twin room, the beds were narrow and the one I slept in was not comfortable. The next time I book I will stress that I want a double room in the comments bopx at the end of the booking.
Clean, friendly hotel in lovely spot. Good food and breakfast. None !
The room with its view; the food; the location Can't think of anything
We have stayed at this hotel 4 times now and the staff have been friendly & helpful everytime. The food is always excellent. It is a very convenient hotel for Bath, Bristol and the surrounding areas.
Pleasant country inn atmosphere. Rooms quiet, away from the bar. Attractive furnishings of good quality. Our room overlooked the river which was delightful. Only bad point - our toilet was very, very difficult to flush. We learnt a 'knack' but it took practice and involved pressing the push button many times and with special rhythm! It really needs correcting!
we liked the location and the village very much. we also found the room very comfortable and the staff both friendly and helpful.
Beautiful place! Very quiet - loved the creek and view of the farm country. The concierge was extremely helpful in directing us on our tour of the Cotswolds - even let me use the phone to make a change in a future hotel booking. Breakfast and dinner were superb! The only negative was the bed. The mattresses appeared to be many years old and you could feel the springs so my husband and I doubled a blanket on each bed in order to be able to sleep. The next morning we spoke with the concierge and she had housekeeping make our beds that day with the blankets covering the mattress, which did help.
We paid half price, which I thought was fair value for money. If you are susceptible to floral pattern blindness I would steer well clear. It’s the sort of hotel you will never remember for as long as you live.
Staff were very helpful and the place was very quiet, which was just what I was there for.
Room was very spacious and the buffet breakfast was very nice
The hotel and staff were very welcoming and accommodating to our needs E.g early check-in. The food was excellent.
Staff were very friendly, room was clean and warm. Food was very good, presented nicely and a nice variety for breakfast. Room smelt a bit on arrival but is an old building and we were above the kitchen, we opened a window and all was fine. Finding the reception from the car park was difficult not enough signs although there was a large party arrived for and event at the Hotel. The room was a little dark, proper bulbs in the fittings would be better.
The Food And Drinks Where To Dear.
The restaurant was excellent, the staff very friendly and welcoming and the hotel was very clean. The furnishings and decor were dated and very well worn. Given a refurbishment this hotel could very easily move up the star rating.
A comfortable country hotel Nothing
Relaxed atmosphere and convenience for the town
eating and drinking
Excellent location and very pleasant restaurant for breakfast. Receptionist/waitress very helpful but somewhat over stretched with a large family group also staying. Compact double room was as described, all essentials there but very limited space. Decor looking slightly 'tired'.
I really enjoy the rooms in the courtyard. No complaints - will return
Location for purpose of my visit. Garden was lovley More for older people in its style and faclilities
Comfortable and relaxing
The overall feel of the place was very pleasant and the staff were very helpful
I thought the restaurant and food were excellent. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Doors to other rooms were quite noisy and could disturbe other residents.
Very friendly. Excellent food
Beautiful location, historic building and very close to all Cotswold attractions.
Lovely homely setting, nice lounge, great breakfasts. Enough luxury to make you feel it's a treat, yet relaxed enough to feel comfortable. Creaky floorboards mean you feel anxious about disturbing other guests if coming in lateish.
location Small single beds
The most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in. Very cosy room, thoughtful additions such as tissues and cotton wool balls and good selection of tea/coffee/refreshments. Peaceful location but very handy for exploring Cirencester. It was Arkells beer - not a personal favourite and the visit confirmed it. Had fried eggs - bit oily - could have been drained on kitchen roll to make them more paletable.
Small & friendly. Breakfast was superb. Rooms were nice but soundproofing between rooms wasn't good
