Pick-up at SYR ok but staff impatient and clearly not happy doing the job. Drop-off at JFK confusing and a hassle. Signs lead to a former Dollar lot where you are then redirected to the Hertz lot. Plus airport under construction. Very stressful. They should get their signage right.Reviewed 31 Aug 2024

Pros:Staff was nice. However they helped as little as possible, but over all the experience was. Okay.Cons:The vehicle had a sticker on the door saying it was cleaned. A baby sock was found in the back hatch area, which should have been easily found if cleaned. The worst part was a strong odor coming from the driver side back seat. Terrible smell, I drove straight from NY to Fl. When I got home my wife told me it smelled like baby vomit or spilt formula.Reviewed 20 Mar 2021

Pros:Staff members. Girl that had to downgrade me from an SUV to a full size vehicle was just doing her job.Cons:Don't use a debit card unless you only want a maximum of a full size car. I requested an SUV because I had to travel and the weather got pretty bad. I had to downgrade to the Maxima and the handling was terrible. I understand there's rules but my debit card has more cash on it than most credit cards. They could have done a larger deposit or something to secure the vehicle I requested. Pros:The staff said I could get reimbursed for any expenses beyond my original reservation with Dollar if I was able to obtain a car from another company. They gave me the contact info for their manager.Cons:They had no cars. Cons:Agent at the counter was excellent. However, I found it extremely difficult and time consuming to communicate over the phone. I must have been on for over a half hour. In my opinion it is terrible customer service when you go into the world of press 1 for this and press whatever for that. I tried to hit 0 to get an operator and it was impossible. Also, was transferred twice and couldn’t seem to find the right department. It would be much easier if you could talk to a human from the start.Reviewed 28 Dec 2019
