Traditional and independent City Centre Hotel with over 900 years of history. Offering 83 unique rooms and modern dining facilities. Located in the centre of the City close to the Cathedral, ideal for all local attractions and exploring the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. Currently under refurbishment with a mix of old and new rooms to choose from.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very clean, very comfortable and staff very polite
Cons: Parking at £ 12 per day
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The new refurbishment is lovely the place looks fresh and clean. Beds are comfortable and bathrooms modern. Great job.
Cons: Bar closes at 11, unless you get there at 10.35 like we did and young lady was cashed up ;( Apparently not her fault we turned up earlier than she told us she was closing? Loss of revenue for them whiskey isn't the cheapest drink. Also couldn't buy using room tab you have to place credit on your account. I've never ever done this anywhere else?
9.0 Excellent
Pros: An excellent and historic hotel in the centre of Hereford. PLenty of character and walking distance to everywhere in the heart of the town. Highly recommended.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Significantly improved since the refurbishment - have stayed here many times over the years but this was the most enjoyable by far.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Room windows were tight to open, open them and it's noisy, close them and it's too warm.
Three Counties Hotel - Hereford - Building

8.2 Excellent (1,214 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Standing in 3.3 acres of landscape gardens just 1 mile from the historic Cathedral City of Hereford. the hotel provides a beautiful and peaceful haven for rest, relaxation and business. Yet step outside and you'll find that the hotel is conveniently situated on the main a465 road to Abergavenny, the gateway to Wales. A purpose- built 60 bedroom hotel offering excellent accommodation, an elegant restaurant and an informal, relaxing bar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of 3 Counties Hotel is convenient for the city centre but off the main, noisy road. There is plenty of free, on site parking. I stayed in one of the garden rooms, which was clean, spacious, comfortable and equipped with everything you could need. A large desk, table and chair, bedside cupboards and lights. Lots of cupboard space. En suite bath with shower over and piping hot water. Hairdryer. The bedroom overlooked the car park and was very quiet. Nice bathroom accessories and tea/coffee/chocolate and biscuits in the room. Facilities on site include a bar and restaurant and room service is available. The breakfast was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. It was good value. Has become my go-to hotel in Hereford!
Cons: I couldn’t fault the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was exactly what we wanted and the size of it suited us completely. It was clean, comfortable and had easy access to all facilities. Breakfast was outstanding and so was the evening meal we had on one of our two night stay. All staff were polite and helpful. We will definitely be staying here again. If you are looking to stay in Hereford choose this hotel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place exceeded my expectations. So cozy and quaint. Amazing food and pub and the most generous workers. One staff gave me the cold medicine out of her purse. You don't get that kinda service at other hotels. We ended up coming back for a second night on our trip back to London.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building is full of so much character, it's easy to get to with ample parking. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, we arrived really late which they accommodated for. We were able to bring our dog. The bed was very comfy, and room was very well equipped with a fan, kettle, iron, TV, extra milk etc etc. They accommodated for my partners nut allergy, not a problem at all. We will definitely be back!
Cons: The only thing was the outside ashtray was below our room, the first morning we opened the window and the smell wafted in. Also, related to smoking, the plant pots each side of the front door were full of cigarette butts.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beds really comfy Breakfast is great Good evening bar service Staff really friendly Area is beautiful Good parking
Cons: Pool table price gone up since last time WiFi isn't that good upstairs
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room 10 was a great size, probably a family room as there was a double and 2 singles. Staff were friendly and approachable.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host Ben was absolutely lovely. The location is superb for the station and the town centre. Reminded me of staying in my GrandMothers house. Very homely and quirky place.
Cons: Nothing I didn't like.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the great location! It was close to the town centre as well as the hospital for work. Sandra was wonderful as she welcomed me to the BnB so warmly and took my order for breakfast. Breakfast was such a treat as well. The house was clean and the room was super cute and made my work trip feel like more of a holiday. I was slightly concerned about the shared bathroom but it was so clean and only down the hall and there was never a queue to go to the loo or have a shower in the morning!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location next to the train station & a 10 minute walk into town. Free parking on site. Full English breakfast was a great start to the day & free tea and coffee in the bedrooms. Sinks in the bedrooms are handy. Nice to have dressing gowns in the rooms.
Cons: Can be quite loud depending on other guests. Only one shower upstairs (as far as we were aware). This could be an issue in the morning if the place is full. Could maybe add some liquid soap in the main bathroom to wash your hands.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a beautiful house and very welcoming
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: breakfast was nice, good location
Cons: No heating in the bathroom
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Liked or loved all of it. Quirky and unusual apartment (the Garden one). Quite comfortable, if a little small for three people, one of whom in our party is not a small person. Staff friendly and helpful and served us a lovely breakfast in our room. Holly House has good off-road parking and is super-handily placed for the town. Great for a one night stopover whilst visiting family nearby. I imagine the separate little patio area outside would be lovely in good weather.
Cons: The Garden apartment is long and narrow. The sleeping area for the third person is in the kitchen/living area. Probably better for two people rather than three to be honest although it would depend on their relative sizes! Having said that it was perfectly fine for one night and everything else is good or great.

Pros: Nice location, good for a stay if visiting Hereford or nearby towns
Cons: Room was very cold when we arrived. Had to ask for a heater to be put in the room to warm it up. Not much in the way of facilities actually worked in the room. Heating didn’t seem to work, bath spa didn’t work. They had also organised a party above the room which they said would be finished by 12pm but sadly went on till much later.

7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly staff lovely rooms really impressed with it
7.0 Good
Pros: It's one of those hotels that's seen better days, but it's kept maintained well and it has character because of it's age. Much better than staying in a sterile new build. For those who like angling, the Hereford stretch of the river Wye is probably the best coarse fishing in the U.K.
Cons: Nothing, it was fine.

Pros: This hotel is clean, comfortable, the drinks price was fair and the staff I met at reception and during breakfast very friendly, the only down side was no car parking, but being just across the road from the bus station car park no real problem, I refuse to give full marks but 99.5 shows how I enjoyed my visit... thank you.

Pros: overpriced...poor value for money. Location good for us. Parking good. Newsagent close by.

7.5 Good
Pros: The views from the room were lovely and decor in the room was tastefully done. Excellent value for money for a night in the hotel.
Cons: Restaurant was a little overpriced for the food you got. Breakfast was an additional £10 each for continental. The bathroom in the room could do with a refurb.

7.0 Good
Pros: I was part of a group of 10 people staying there to attend a wedding nearby. Doreen was lovely and very accommodating for us (not to mention adorable!) Breakfast was nice (I particularly enjoyed the fried bread) The four poster bed was a nice touch and also the dressing table The family room I was in was very spacious, a good amount of plug sockets and lighting The heaters were good and made the room nice and warm (I didn't want to leave these on while we were out but they soon warmed up when switching them on) Parking was good (although a bit muddy, not too bad but worth mentioning) Other reviews have been critical - yes there is the odd crack here and there but for the price I cannot grumble and I liked the cosy and rustic feel of the place. It was winter so we didn't use the outdoor space but I can imagine it being lovely to have a cuppa outside in the summer on the tables. I am glad I stayed here and helped to support an independent guesthouse. I didn't get a chance to try the bath with the jets in it - but looked good. Thanks for a lovely stay Doreen. I recommend staying here for something different to a chain hotel.
Cons: None of the below would prevent me from staying here again, but just commenting to give an overall picture of my stay and as some things have been mentioned in other reviews. I'm not saying it to be critical of the place as I really enjoyed my stay, but rather to give my honest views. The rooms were a little delayed in being ready for us, but Doreen was accommodating in other ways so it didn't affect us too much and we had ample time to get ready for the wedding. The single mattresses in the family room were a bit springy - but saying that I was tired and perhaps a little tipsy so I fell asleep straight away anyway. I believe the double beds were fine. The shower took a while to warm up, but I was informed of that by my boyfriend who used it first so I knew to keep the water running for a while before getting in so I didn't mind that.
