My original request specifically asked for 7, due to needing room for 4 adults. 2 baby seats and of course luggage for 6 people. The car I was given was “same” class. Not sure how things are “classed” grouped together. , but we had already had an interesting conversation on the coverage on the car. I was treated like “you should read”. Let me tell you. After spending an incredible amount on insurance and given to see that you can’t fit with your family and luggage, it’s falling out the back. Had it stacked where we couldn’t see out the back window. Finally put two bags in with passengers. Since we did everything on the internet, which your website kept asking for the car rental fee, like starting from scratch. I thought I could resolve it at the desk, but agent really couldn’t understand that I was puzzled on another window that popped up as I was attempting to complete. If I was going to buy insurance, if I understood your website, since I was told to “read” your website and that’s all that mattered. Running out of space. I would never rent again. I called an UBER. I’m going as low as possible for the customer service the lack of knowledge constantly being told one thing but it’s something else. I scheduled a pick up for 10:30 I’m there early they couldn’t get me in the car I wanted to- they wouldn’t let me just pay Expedia another $100 to upgrade to what the site said the cost were. Was told to just cancel it and re book WELL I LISTENED TO THEMAND BECAUSE THEY DIDNT GET ME I. A CAR BEFOTE THE 10:30 time entered to pick up they DIDNT REFIND ME AND CHARGED ME FOR THE 2nd and this was for a month rental on top of renting from them the last 2.5 months straight- THATS HOW THEY TREAT YOU GOOD LUCKReviewed 1 Sept 2026

The branch in Yonkers did not function well at all. 5 people there and we were 4 people line and it took them 40 minutes to help me. then I got electric car I did not order and ask for and they wanted $15 per day more for gas car which I was upset about. I was forced to take the electric one and asked how it works. they just said we don't know gave me an app name that was not very good and told me where to charge. they didn't say there are 3 different charging levels and I got stuck not using the car for a whole day while it was charging. so annoying ! Then they did not explain the toll system although I asked (I'm from LA) and the EZ pass and I had to guess and I hope I didn't get over charged cause they never told me how to display it on dashboard. they were not nice there and they were very short with me. when I returned the car at JFK I went to complain and Miles at the branch there helped me. he was So nice and So professional and also made it right in terms of the bill for me so that was really nice. be aware if you need to rent the car at Yonkers Hertz branch ! If you can go to Miles at the JFK branch, a real angel who corrected my whole experience with Hertz.Reviewed 31 Aug 2026

The price of my online reservation was significantly different from the price I actually paid. Hertz also changed the pick up location of the vehicle and when I asked them to change it back to the original booking location, I was charged an extra fee. They have altered the terms of the agreement. Now, only a physical credit card is accepted. They've also changed the price for the insurance, and blocked $3,000 from our account. Additionally, the person in charge seems to be avoiding us.Reviewed 31 Aug 2026

Car said 30 miles to empty and not even 15 miles of that and eight tenth of a mile from rental store ran out of gas. Repeated calls to store and through prompts to roadside, no one answered. Sat for an hour and half with no help. Had wife got to store and hand them her cell phone so could explain situation, zero apology only face another number for roadside assistance and they informed me $90 minimum to come out. Had wife buy gas can and two gallons of gas and finally got to store where again no apology for car error. Even when restarted it finally said had over 30 miles to empty? Will not use Hertz again. Offered zero assistance or empathy on my situation.Reviewed 30 Aug 2026

The counter associate told me as Check-in that not only did they not have any pickup trucks available, but that Hertz in central Texas does not offer same-day truck rentals. I spoke with a customer service agent at their 800 number, but she only wasted my time with non-solutions. I canceled my reservation, then rented directly with Enterprise.Reviewed 30 Aug 2026
